Jedi Force ghosts are the Star Wars Universe's version of a bodhisattva, a concept from Mahayana Buddhism. Upon death, a Buddhist who has attained enlightenment may choose to remain in the world of suffering (the world of the living) rather than move on to nirvana, in order to aid others in attaining enlightenment. 😊☸️❤

When I was a kid, the Phantom Menace was my favorite Star Wars movie.
As I grew up, that changed, but now it has come full circle again. It's a story that stands well on its own yet still has details that are relevant to the rest of the Original Saga.
Also, about the blockade over Naboo, Qui-gon said in the novelization of TPM, "you don't need a blockade when you control the ports."
And in Plaugeis, Gunray protested pulling so many ships away from their normal commerce operations. So, I imagine he was keen to disperse the fleet ASAP.

Blown away by the C-3PO revelation of how old that idea was, but it’s not super strange for Anakin to build a droid based on a droid type that already exists. He’s only really going to have access to what he can find, so a template that is already around is logically all he can make. I do however think it would have made just slightly more sense for R2-D2 to have been the droid he built, while C-3PO should have already been serving Amadala on Naboo. Just my personal headcanon of what would have made more sense, especially given how unique and intelligent Artoo becomes.

Panaka being radicalized by the events of Phantom Menace and manipulated by fellow Naboo Palpatine into being a Moff who dies a villain is pretty sad. It's an object lesson in war and occupation causing those who suffered through it to ultimately become as bad as their oppressors.

Its also sort of fitting since the actor who originally played Panaka, Hugh Quarshie, refused to continue the role because apparently Lucas would not let him read the whole script to Attack of the Clones (rumor) - so my guess is Quarshie rubbed Lucas the wrong way and got made a villain lol

On the backstory of C-3PO being something George knew way back when, Star Wars has been pretty great at recycling old concepts and making them canon, a little contextualised. A few things I recall - Starkiller was Luke's original name before someone said it was a bit too menacing. It became Galen Marek's Sith name and the name of a planet destroyer base. The original script of Star Wars was "The Journal of the Whills", and teh Whills came back in Chirrut and Baze's monk Order, and the training Qui-Gon persued to become a Force Ghost. Ashla and Bogan were early script names for the Light Side and Dark Side of the Force. It has come back as names some culture use as such, and Ashla was the name of the the Togruta child in Yoda's Initiate class in AotC, and came back as a cover name used by Ahsoka. Early concept art for Chewbacca got turned into the Lasat race, the two biggest names of which are Garazeb Orelios of _Rebels_ and Jaro Tapal, Cal Kestis' Jedi Master, before Order 66. Also on concept art, early art while trying to work out the enemy of TPM, Darth Maul, got recycled and made into Maul's mother, Mother Talzin. In fact Maul's homeworld is a reuse of a Legends world, Dathomir, and even as recent as _Tales of the Empire_ has signs of using concepts from that, with the Mountain Clan Morgan found shelter with reminding me of Teneniel Djo's clan in _The Courtship of Princess Leia_ .
Even Palpatine using clones to come back to life recalls the Dark Empire comics, and Thrawn was notable a popular canonised Legends character.
So I am kinda not surprised George brought back an old idea about C-3PO's origin and tweaked it so the kid who rebuilt him is Anakin.

On Grebleips, I like to think his given name is Nevets.
I also have a general concept of how the story of "E.T. The Extraterrestrial" can be told from a Star Wars perspective.
The Asogians, a very long-lived race (apparently the novel of ET says that Elliot senses ET is ancient), and sent out a multi-generational extra-galactic exploration mission. This is more than just visiting the satellite galaxies (like Peridea's galaxy), but actually travelling to other large galaxies further away. E.T. who I give the name Sacul Egroeg (I know, it's awkward, but it matches Nevets Grebleips), was on a landing crew investigating a planet that yes, they know is a post-industrial, pre-interstellar human population, but when the locals get close, they have to leave, and Sacul, who is a Jedi, was distracted by the plants they were collecting samples of, and gets left behind. As a result, he takes shelter in a local building, gets taken into the protection of some kids, gets drunk and forms a Force both with one of the kids, gets pneumonia while out with his cobbled-together signalling device, he gets captured by local authorities who don't know how to medically treat him properly, but the Force bond helps him recover after a near-death experience, and his child friend and his friends gets him out to the bushlands to meet the returning shuttle to be picked up by his crew (yes, I am interpreting the crew as having a larger ship out hidden on the other side of the Moon, to keep from being picked up by humans).

In the novelization of Phantom Menace, when the group returns to Naboo, one of the characters asks why there is only one droid control ship left. I can't remember who replies, but I think it's the pilot, who says, "No need to blockade the port if you control it." or something to that effect. So that fits with your idea.

I was one of those that watched it in 99. Though I watched the OT on VHS and ANH special edition in theaters, it was so awesome to get a new Star Wars experience on the big screen.
Its a damn shame of all the negative reception and controversy that would hound this movie for the next decades, but thankfully it has (mostly) died down. Not sure about canon, but in legends it’s to help deal with the threat of piracy as the Judicial Forces the Republic had were not enough to keep all the trade lanes secure, so the Trade Federation army is more like the security force of the Trade Federation. I'm really enjoying these FAQ videos and I look forward to seeing them for the rest of the movies.
The Rule of Two question is always something that baffles me that people ask because it's simple logic. If there is a Sith, someone trained them, much like the Jedi themselves. Every Padawan has a master so it just makes sense to assume there is at least one more Sith still alive. They just didn't know if Maul was the master who had left a student behind or the apprentice that left his master looking for a replacement, which he immediately does find in the form of Dooku in Tales of the Jedi and speculation by the Jedi as to who was who would continue right up until near the end of the Clone Wars in the Son of Dathomir comic, where the Jedi battle both Dooku and Maul working together and suspect they may have been the entire time because they don't know what we know.

@@sebmes7288well, the out of universe explanation is that at that point inhibitor chips weren't a thing yet.
The clones all knew about order 66 and were fully aware of what they were doing. That's also implied by Sidious telling Cody "the time has come", implying Cody already knows about the plan.
I don't think there's an in-universe reason for it. Sometimes when Star Wars retcons itself is can smooth everything over and sometimes it leaves a bump. This is just one of those cases.

What happened to all those pilots? It seems like we never see them again. The Queen’s Yacht was not that large. We never see one pilot once the ship took flight.
The ship escaped the blockade and landed on Tattooine. Once the ship landed, there were no signs of the pilots.
They repaired the ship and departed Tattooine for Coruscant. Once they touched down on the floating landing platform, there were no sign of any of the pilots.
What happened to all those pilots. It was hard to get an exact count. Safe to say, though, there were at least a dozen of them.

There is a Legends explanation for why Yoda knew about the rule of two. There was a single Baneite Sith who defected to the Jedi Order before being killed by his apprentice.

25:00 to add on, I don't think Sabine or Reeva's stabs were meant to be fatal.
Sabine was stabbed non fatally as a distraction for Ahsoka. Shin knew that Ahsoka would rather rush Sabine to the hospital than chase after Shin and the stolen map.
When Reeva was stabbed, the Grand Inquisitor said they were leaving her like she was in the Jedi Temple, which they knew wasn't fatal for her. Reeva wanted nothing other than to kill Vader, so Vader (after already toying with her and defeating her twice) further insults her by showing that she's so little of a threat that she isn't worth killing.

My headcanon: Anakin asked Padme if she was an angel because he could see her force aura. Yoda said as much when he told Luke "Luminous beings are we." Being the Chosen One, Anakin was able to tap into the force through sheer midichlorian count. Even without training, just pure raw potential, he was able to see Padme as she truly was. She stuck out like a sore thumb compared to everyone else on Tatooine.

I'm sorry I missed the question submission period. But here's one:
    *Inside Watto's Junk Shop*
"How long have you been here?"
"Since I was very little. Three, I think.".
What's painfully unclear in this dialogue whether Padmé is asking Anakin how long he's been at Watto's junk shop, or how long he's been on Tatooine. I know Anakin's listed official birthplace (according to Wookieepedia) is Tatooine, but when he answers Padmé "Since I was very little. Three, I think.", it could very easily be taken as he has only been on Tatooine since he was three. If that can be the case, where was he before that?? Is it possible that Shmi gave birth to him somewhere else?

When Yoda talks to the spirit of Darth Bane in the Clone Wars he explicitly mentions that he knew Darth Bane created the rule of two. I don't think its unlikely that the Jedi at some point learned that this was a Sith rule.

After re-watching star wars as an adult I started questioning things that I just never thought about before. Like for example, even though palpatine still was able to use the naboo crisis for his own purposes, the good guys still "won" by the end of the phantom menace, so what was Palpatine's original plan? I doubt that his original plan included maul dieing and naboo being liberated by queen amadalas forces and the gungans. Would it be as simple as just making the naboo crisis larger and gaining more power from it, or was there something more? (Really only asking in relation to the phantom menace and not what Palpatine's plan was our would have been in the subsequent movies)

Yes, but _HOW_ did Maul survive? Did he use the Force to push against the walls of the pit and slow his descent? What was at the bottom of that pit? How did he wind up on Lotho Minor? What are your theories if there aren't stories that explain this?

I have one more Phantom question. I kind of hoped it would be in the video, but it isn't. *What was the sith plan here?*
Obviously, Palpatine was supposed to became supreme chancellor. Mission accomplished. But there is other side of the plan. Several times during the whole movie Sidious insisted queen must be captured and forced to sign a treaty to legalise the occupation. Which didn't happen, this part of the plan failed. And his apprentice was killed (supposedly). So what was the plan with Naboo? What would Sidious do next with Naboo under full and "legal" Trade federation control and with full-sized Maul?

Officially he isn't any of this, but it's abovious that there was a plan for him to be and this was abruptly changed and rewriten.
