This isn't just a recap, but a thoughtful analysis of the characters, the story progression and the theme as well. Excellent work and well articulated!
OUTSTANDING! I thought it was going to be AI crap but it’s actually a very well done video synopsis of a very complicated story by a real human being who no doubt worked very hard to produce this. Cleared up a lot of confusion for me! Great job 👏🏽 👊🏽 👍🏽
I thought it might be a robot voice, too, when first started listening! Voice is just so low-key or something... Pleasant to listen to, once you ascertain that it isn't AI.
took me 29 years but i finally watched all of the sopranos haha!! My grandpa was actually an extra in two scenes as some guy in a diner sitting in the back. I cant lie it seemed to drag on for many episodes but overall it was a high quality television show.. especially for me being a jersey boy living close to newark
Thanks for making this video, I just recently watched the season 1 finale after a long break, and needed to watch a recap of what was going on before I start season 2. Thank you very much for the detailed and informing video on The Sopranos Season 1.
I love this video so much, explained the season so well. I thought I would have a recap on the season as soo many things go on that I couldn't keep track of it all and to see it briefly summarised so well and simple makes me question why you haven't burst out in popularity. Definitely worth subscribing to your channel, would love to see more videos as such. ❤
Thanks for the kind words! The plan is to keep going and produce more videos like this and hopefully more success will come my channel's way. Season 2 coverage should start in a few days.

52:37 junior doesnt admit Tony is the real boss because he really thinks he is the boss and doesn't wanna acknoledge Tony's role cause of his ego not (only) because of his principles
Really well done. Great synopsis on the season. This combined with others analysis of the characters really makes the series exactly what it is, great. Thanks!
@52:44 I think this has something more to do with Uncle Jun's pride. He always wanted to be the man in control. Tony noted it in Jackie's funeral. Junior can't accept that it was Tony all along who's the top dog behind the scenes.
25:27 i don't think Tony and Johnny Sack were childhood friends. i don't remember that ever being said. he was good friend with John. but if you have info that says they were i'll defer to you.
Junior was also incredibly prideful. He refused to cooperate with the Feds because he'd have to say that Tony was the boss I think that overtook the "code of silence"
he didn't want to help the teacher. his son was getting a D and he wanted him to get better grades by getting the teacher a stolen car that they repainted
A Golem is ann old movie monsters along the lines of Frankenstein. But is also based on a jewish folktale of a monster being made to protect the Jewish tribe, in the silent movies the monster goes on a rampage after a women did not return his love. The Jews in episode three are comparing Tony to said monster, one they thought they could use to their own benefit, but now curse their deal with the devil because they have no unleashed a monster
One thing I don't believe Mikey was a made man at that time because tony would not have went that far putting staples in a made man I always believed that he was just a yes man/Hitman then was later made at some point
My neighbor is Uncle Jun's son in real life. Currently watching the show and randomly seeing the son outside and talking about his father in the show. It's fun 😁
vincent gigante checked himself into mental hospitals 2-3 a year and even took antipsychotic medications you probably don't know who he is but he was the long time boss of the Genovese crime family boss for over 30 years.
It amuses me seeing the people who are just finding the sopranos and acting like they’ve discovered something lmao congrats on catching up. Now go get offended and cry too 😂. Hey grunge is great music Nirvana is a good band too lmfao 🤣 😂 grab a flannel and your jncos but wait you losers couldn’t hang in the actual 90s 😎💯💯💯
Great video, but just one correction. You said "retirement home". It was actually a retirement community.
Good one
😂😂😂😂😂
lol
It's practically a resort at captain teebs
XD

I’m just now finishing season 1….for the 1st time actually!! 🤣🤣💪🏾
Fiction can be fun
Drag on huh interesting. I just finished season one and loved every episode! Very cool about your gramps!
That was your grandfather?!💯
It came out 25 years ago
Great video man, thank u so much, 1h of greatness

"It's a retirement community !!!"
Thank you so much. You eplained/recapped many thing that I've missed while watching the show. Keep up the good work!
Thanks, will do!

Totally agree. I just finished the first season myself, and this video helps piece everything together before I watch season 2
Great videos, much appreciated
Thanks for the recap 💙
It's hard to find a narrator with a good voice, but your bro GOT ONE!!! Very soothing.
I guess it's a matter of preference, some people find my voice annoying and monotone, while others like you seem to enjoy it. Thanks!

junior doesnt admit Tony is the real boss because he really thinks he is the boss and doesn't wanna acknoledge Tony's role cause of his ego
not (only) because of his principles
Yeah, I think that's a valid point!
I think u got a point but also I think junior knows cos he found out Tony meets with the others capos behind his back at the retirement community
I think he knew at that point, but still wanted to keep up the image to the authorities, If u know what I mean
Yet he eventually did recognize Tony as boss
“Man is driven by his insecurities.”
I literally never knew Tony's middle name was John, but I guess he has that name from his father
And AJ, too.
Yes Italians usually always name the son after either dad or grandfather
@@pauldalnoky6055AJ actually is for Anthony junior
best recaper there is ! can't wait for season 2
My mother is exactly like Livia. I was raised like this. I actually thought she was OK before other people didn't
Sorry! 😢
@@terry4137 thanks 😊
Exactly then your brain forms around that being “love”
@lindboknifeandtool yeah, the same with that nurse. One flew over coockoo neat? I actually thought she was nice?
@@ROC14088 that’s darkly comedic because she’s the quintessential “evil nurse”
Did you ever get to a place where good felt good?
26:09 - "Boy does Junior eat alone. He doesn't even pass the salt". 😂😂😂
Can’t wait for season two!!! Thank you Benja!!!
I enjoyed every minute of this great recap. Thanks for making this!

Please do more breakdowns, I need the rest of the series PLEASE I BEG!
All I can say is thank you my man
Excellent
I finally have pieces filled in! Well done!
Thank you for the recap.
I love the way Benja when you recap a entire season in one video . 😊 .
Really well done. Great synopsis on the season. This combined with others analysis of the characters really makes the series exactly what it is, great. Thanks!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Please do more of these they are great
Will do!
thanks for the recap :)
So really, Dr. Cusamano is at fault for the domino effect that is The Sopranos. 😆
thanks for that man. very amazing explanation.
Thank you so much for this breakdown! Going to watch your season 2 one now
Awesome recap😀.
Thank you Mr David Chase for giving us one of the greatest TV shows of all time.
Thanks, it makes me understand the show more
Well done 👍🏻
Good vid thx
The funny part about the going south episode in Boca is that Boca is Spanish for mouth 🤣
Oh! Nice music at the end I like that very much.
Good video!

Good stuff
Appreciate it

Just started it, a week or two ago n I’ve been binging it I’m already on season 4
bro really hates tony's mother
Everyone does bro… kinda the whole point of the show
Glad the series quickly got over season one’s crime of the week simplicity
Why did the 2 guys need to find the teachers car? Even with explanation i don't get what is happening
Tony's son AJ mentioned it to him and Tony wanted to help out AJ's teacher. So Tony sent two of his guys to take care of it.
he didn't want to help the teacher. his son was getting a D and he wanted him to get better grades by getting the teacher a stolen car that they repainted
@@BenjaTValso, carmella mentions it to tony after AJ mentions it to her and tony's first response is "he can work his summer vacation"
please know more about the show before you make videos on it. thank you
@@GuidoLuzzithis was well done. I don't think he is ill prepared extremely detailed and explained.if you can do better go ahead
Tony never had the intentions of smothering his mother with a pillow. That presumption was cleared up in season 6 with a therapy session with Melfi.
