The Critical Role Campaign 3 announcement video hinted that Taliesin Jaffe will be playing another of Matt's classes, so we may get our first look at something new from Tal'Dorei Reborn.
This subclass feels as though it was mixed with other classes but also the spend six ruins to become all-powerful feels like the anime the Avatar, like the avatars state very interesting idea for a spellcaster as well as AC much like a monk in a way.
Another awesome review guys thank you xx. I do feel like this subclass is like spending money to buy a gift voucher. Then spending that voucher to buy lottery tickets and then putting them in a birthday card.
Thanks for sharing this, I was taken in by the thematic imagery evoked by the subclass, shame it couldn't learn all of its 5th-or-lower level spells as rituals.
18:34 There is room to also improve on or rebalance classes too. Consider how the literary Ninja really has no subclass that fits the dream. Also consider how the Arcane Archer really feels less then powerful as soon as level 6 and the Kensai, arguably, needs more power to make up for some of it’t most key feature going to the base class and the base class not having an good power set.
I'm playing this multiclassed with barbarian, and I'm having a blast! I'm mostly using my sorcery points exclusively on charging runes so that I can keep up my non-concentration Armor of Agathys up as long as possible. That with rage is negating so much damage. I had a 1st level of Armor of Agathys three hits. Thing is, I have zero interest in the class past 5th level. I don't want to give away my damage resistance.
When you hit level 20 or 18 rather and get your big ability that lasts 3 turns initially, it seems you can spend more runes to make it last longer. Say you expend 8 runes suddenly that ability lasts 5 turns instead of 3 and is much more impactful. And I think with an ability that gives you all of that power, expending 8-10 sorcery points to trigger it and make it last a long time, is definitely worth it. Before you go to confront BBEG, turn like 12 sorcery points into charged runes, turn your not as useful lower level spell slots into sorcery points, until you have 15 again, and roll up in the boss fight and open a can of whoop-ass.
I think this subclass has some really fun potential, but sadly this got the PHB treatment instead of the XGTE or Tasha's treatment. Overall, with some tweaks to either some of the leveled abilities or extra spells designed for this subclass, I would love to try this one out
Take a feat race and the metamagic adept feat. For a minute there I thought that would end up not being an option. Also use an action to charge your level 1 rune before you may end up in combat.
I feel like this subclass is very underpowered for levels 1-14, then very powerful past that. The damage that gets reduced isn't much since you would have to spend your sorcery points like a madman to use it at it's full potential. The 6th level features are fairly bad. A sorcerer mostly likely won't have good str or dex, and con checks are practically non-existent. Giving advantage isn't going to help them all that much. A good feature is one that can be useful in any campaign. If your dm doesn't constantly use glyphs, the feature is almost completely usesless. The ability to ignore resistance is extremely powerful for obvious reasons, same with increasing your spell save dc. The last feature doea suffer from the very limited time you can use it.
So besides the aesthetic of the subclass, the only one thing I really like about this subclass is the fact you could straight up overcome immunity to certain damage. And I just love the idea that you're fighting a pit fiend, you cast fireball. It laughs at you, until you start laughing at it as you make it no longer immune to that damage lol. Like"Oh fuck me?! No no no, fuck you!" That's the only thing that makes me enjoy the subclass

Hopefully it's been reworked to be more in line with Tasha's, that's really the baseline now.
Oooooo I'm excited!
With campaign 3 being set in marquet I wouldn't be surprised if he plays a runechild sorcerer.
Now I want Ashton's class
This subclass feels as though it was mixed with other classes but also the spend six ruins to become all-powerful feels like the anime the Avatar, like the avatars state very interesting idea for a spellcaster as well as AC much like a monk in a way.

Another 10K subs.
Let’s get it!!
This is probably the favourite of my Tal’Dorei subclass, I’m so glad you guys covered it (finally!)
Well done again my friends!!!
Well done gentlemen.
Ignoring immunity is very powerfull. Good idea when playing this subclass is to get Bloodwell Vial to have more sorcery points
Amazing videooooooo, like Always!! Greetings from Italy!
Enjoyed this one!
Glad to see this video
Is like they were trying to make a sorcerer work with the negative resource management associated with the monk, but harsher.

I like the fudge up fun facts edits 😂
Awesome subclass 😊

Also can you guys make the video about revising storm sorcery
I really want to play that theme! Also great video!

YES!!!!!!!!!!

Nope. Never mind. Super weak. One level would be decent but... nope.
Is it bad I think of the runes like the glowing tattoos from journey to Atlantis
Sound Cool
Happy Hands!
This is a cool subclass
Hell yeah Gilmore subclass
I've been waiting for so long for someone to talk about this subclass

Watching for the first time … again
It so short from being perfect, I only wish it had gotten a Tasha style spell list

I didn't see this class because I've mostly keep my stuff on dnd beyond and idk if I just can't find it or it's not on there
i'd love to win a book bundle
cool
Bundle Plz (I am dnd thirsty)
Lvl 20 have you looking like you're wearing a motion capture suit.
Humm. Some trickery here. But warlock. With this class. The switch a roo with points and slots to quickly recharge runes more.
This sub class sounds cool but yeah not sure I would play it.
Sounds like materia
Probably my least favorite campaign one class
