  • In this video I'm teaching you a simple breath awareness lesson that can "reset" your nervous sytem, which can calm your system and reduce pain and tension.
Your body is connected to your brain/nervous system/mind. When your nervous system becomes overly sensitized (stress), body tension and pain arise. Because of these direct connections, you can change your body tension and pain by chaging the state of your nervous system, "resetting" your nervous system. I'm giving you the experience of how your body and nervous system/brain/mind are connected and the benefits of body-mind integrated movement practice.

What you need is NOT superficial "body fixing/correction" techniques. What you really need is to learn how to connect with your body, and learn how to learn about YOUR BODY and how you move from the inside. No one can do this for you and to you. It's time to shift your attention inward to YOUR BODY! Changes start to happen from the inside!

I cannot thank you enough, Taro! I recently discovered your channel as I am interested in exploring movements that can help reset the nervous system in a safe, gentle and mindful way. I LOVE your classes!!! I do a couple of your classes in the morning and a few in the evening. I can quite literally feel the tension leaving my body as I explore the exercises and breathwork practices. The mind-body connection is so fascinating! Your videos have helped me identify some movement habits that I've developed over the years. Now that I'm bringing awareness to those patterns, I'm noticing that I don't have to put so much force or effort into my daily movements. I feel more at ease. THANK YOU so much! You are making a huge difference in this world 🙏

Excellent! Such a simple, yet profound way to experience the body-mind connection. I appreciate closing our eyes to eliminate visual distraction, and simply listen to the verbal guidance, so that our attention is focused on the dynamics of breath awareness. Thank you, Taro, it's very clear and helpful.

I sat up on a couch and followed your instructions. With closed eyes I felt the breath and also an energy behind me making me lean backwards as though I was being adjusted in spirit. It was as if another person was taking me into a relaxed state.

I'm a hypnotherapist and I love your lessons! The body is always responding to mind states and you guided us into a lovely state of relaxation. Repetition is key when it comes to rewiring things.

thank you! yes repetition is key for neuroplasticity. how you repeat is thus important! you can repeat your habitual patterns then you strengthen your habitual patterns. you repeat new patterns that lead to more desirable state then you can create a new pattern:)

since my channel is not a fitness channel, I suggest you check fitness channels for that topic. However, I can share something from my perspective. Becoming aware of own patterns and recognizing them can allow us to create new choices. This is true for any behavioral changes including movement patterns. Recognition of own behavioral patterns as they relate to specific issues/challenges we want to improve is a key. This is also a part of nervous system retraining as it is concerned about changing habitual patterns:)

Hi Taro, just found your channel and was able to relieve a tension headache with your exercises! I’m wondering if you have any movements that would help release a knot in the middle of the back near the spine. I’ve been trying various movements for a year - no dice!

@@TaroIwamotothanks Taro! This one helped a lot. It released so much tension my shoulders can lay flat on the ground. The knot is still there but I’m hopeful that continuing to release the tension and retrain the mind will support my other rehab movement work until the knot eventually goes away.
I am so grateful you’re sharing your knowledge here. My mental health therapist also uses mind-body connection as her primary technique - very excited to see how feldenkrais integrates with that work!
