What a perfect day out that would be. Beautiful village and tranquil landscape. What a serene hidden gem. So close to the Swells, the Slaughters and Bourton-on-the-Water - and so undiscovered.....shhhhhhh!!! Wonderful to hear the birds singing and very little else except for your dulcet tones. I know you really wanted to cough or clear your throat when the golfer was about to putt, didn't you Ron? Thanks for another lovely video. Take care, Ian.
Thanks Ian, it was a beautiful walk. You are right it is strange how you always want to cough or sneeze when someone is about to put. Especially if you are playing them for money. Have a good week. Ron
Good Morning, RON. You picked an absolute gem this time, Naunton is my favourite Cotswold village, and a lovely walk. Used to stop off for a pint at the Black Horse, and had relatives living there, years ago. Brought back lots of memories. Thank you for sharing. Ron.
Lovely video, Ron. Nothing better than a summer stroll in the Cotswolds. What a beautiful little gem that valley is...remarkably beautiful. I will definitely be paying that spot a visit next time I'm in the area.
Lovely scenic walk Ron in Range Rover Country. Iam very impressed on your routes and not getting lossed i would. Looking forward to more take care and my best wishes.
I did indeed enjoy that walk very much Ron, thanks! I saved watching it as a reward for doing 39 parent-teacher interviews today. Interestingly, I detected a familiar accent from one of the parents. I said that I had taken a year leave to teach in England years ago in Cheltenham, to which the mother replied that she was born and raised in Cheltenham! I resisted asking her why she'd leave such a beautiful part of the world to live here in a big city. Anyway, thanks for the carrot at the end of my stick of a long day Ron. Have a good week. Oh, I had to coax OVM out from under the bed to watch with me...thunder storms again. She made it clear that if it wasn't for watching Ron she'd have preferred to stay put.
Hi James, small world. Our daughter in law is a teacher she dreads parent evenings as well, and our other daughter has spent many an evening under the table with the dog during thunder storms. Glad you enjoyed the film. Have a good week. Ron
That was very beautiful Ron - thanks so much for taking me along. I must admit, when you produce such wonderful videos as this, I realise just how much I miss the English countryside on a warm summers day. You seem to have a hidden talent for finding these hidden gems. For this, I thank you very much. See you next week - in the meantime, please stay safe and look after yourself.
Hi Michael, always good to hear from you, I hope you are now fully recovered from the operation, and your pets are taking good care of you. My old cat always knew when a nice snuggle and a throaty purr were required. Pauline says Hi. Keep smiling. Ron
Absolutely recovered 100 %. We have two dogs and 7 cats which keep us all on our toes. Right now one cat is trying very hard to take half the bed for a sleep Fat chance. Love you loads old friend See you next Friday
Nice video. Many of the villages are mainly second homes so usually not too many people about midweek. River Windrush is dying from untreated sewage pollution see videos online. Sherborne is another secret village no one visits.
A wonderful journey through a glorious landscape which seemed, at times {traffic excepted), to be part of another world - far from the madding crowd. Thank you.
I always love a good walk in the Cotswolds Malcolm, and I've walked a great deal of it over the years, have to watch the mileage these days though. Ron
Hi Malcolm, I think the railway is the Cheltenham to Banbury Direct Railway. I have filmed a lot of the route, the part you refer to is probably near here. ruclips.net/video/Y1N8Bd-tTEc/видео.html Ron
My cousin rented a small cottage in Naunton a couple of years ago, looked just like the Band Room house, opposite the pub, the very narrow Windrush ran along the garden. This area has it all, views, outstanding villages, and Donnington Ales......
What an incredibly beautiful area. - A golf course and reminders of a railway: Now we're talking! You have a talent for finding areas of outstanding natural beauty that exhibit all their best qualities at the time you visit them. Thank you Ron for yet another enjoyable virtual outing. :)
Hi Sharron, I think most places in the Cotswolds away from the tourist spots are nice places to be. As always nice to have you along. Take care of yourself. Ron.
Thank you Ron - you captured Naunton beautifully. I haven't been there for a long time. That hill looked steep, but worth it for the views across the landscape. I look forward to this Friday's vlog. Take care, Paul.
Ron, I don't know how you do it, you find such beautiful places to walk it was an absolute treat from start to finish. The walk up the hill was so much easier than the worlds steepest road which I have to walk up most days! Slightly concerned at 07:08 that someone might have put a car dealership in the area! Take care and please do more of these Cotswold walks there beauty cannot be beaten.
Thanks Andrew, we live on a hill which means when out walking you always have to face the climb at the end. It's not that steep but at the end of a walk ..... Have a good week. Ron
Pretty houses in Naunton and a lovely day for a walk. I did like that valley, it was beautiful. Around us, in Wiltshire, there was an abundance of cow parsley this year. Plus a tremendous amount of bindweed. All that way and not a single railway trackbed in sight. The only object you found was that well worn sleeper being used as a gate post. Lovely, gentle video Ron. Thank you.
@@ParkinsonsWalks Thank you so much. I think we have quite a lot of interests in common. I too love old railways and tracing their history. Another subscriber! Wow, that’s great. I haven’t got many. Although people view my channel, they rarely tick the box, let alone subscribe. The next video is from Millers Dale, where we found an old lime kiln, among other things.
Sorry Ron just caught up. Couldn't resist a quick lay down hat over the eyes amongst the buttercups for fourty winks in that delightful valley. Unsurprisingly the fourty winks turned into one hundred and fourty lol. Beautiful place, beautiful walk many Thanks.
I haven't visited Naunton for many years, your walk reminds me that I must revisit before it's too late. Another gem Ron, thanks. Incidentally reception was good in Devon so no worries on that score
Morning’ Ron. As you said yourself ‘glorious’ stunning countryside complete with Ford ( there is one crossing the River Chess we’re I was brought up in the Chilterns). I loved the stone bridge basking in the sunlight early on in the piece. You also featured one of my room 101 pet hates ….builders music blaring away …they all do it 😖..and loud! Anyway not to detract, this was a lovely video and not only raised my spirits but inspired me as I’m about to start a section of the 1066 walk Pevensey to Herstmonceux with my daughter (10:30 start)
Hi Richard, I hope the weather was kind to you on your walk, great just to be outdoors isn't it. It has been raining here this morning but stopped now. Special to be walking with family. Ron
Hi Ron. Do you think that troublesome bird is the same one that makes its presence known in many of your videos? If so, could you please inform it that the job of Official Mascot is already filled? Thanks Ron. Sumac OVM
Hi Sumac, I have to say your comment is bar far the best one I have seen on Parkinson's walks by a country mile. Well done, that bird needed putting it's place and I think you may have succeeded to do so. Take care, Andrew.
@@andrewmerriman7133 Thanks Andrew! I hope all is well with you. It's getting quite cool here, which I enjoy because I haven't been "shorn" in a while! Take care. Sumac OVM
A lot of these old Cotswold villages were full of members of one family, as recently as 50 years ago. My Mother showed me how many properties used to be my family back then, all neighbours, including the shops, pubs and local farms. Now they are all gone and fill the churchyard, shoulder to shoulder. Their off spring flown to all corners of the world. Their forbears resting place lost to failed family memories.
Great unspoilt village and the varid birdsong is lovely to hear.
Nice to have you along James and the birds do give a sense of peace. Ron
A lovely village unspoilt by progress. Thanks for sharing Ron
