Two men walk into a Starbucks take up a table and refuse to buy anything when asked repeatedly by the manager and wouldn't leave when asked The manager called the police because they were trespassing on private property It has nothing to do with discrimination
Ørjan Arvikk the lady could of waited to see who they were meeting then asked them again would they like to order i see a video of a white male go into star bucks and ask to use the toilet and was given permission without buying anything the Company is not racist its the employee who had the problem but as usaul would never expect some people to understand because even when blacks get ill treated people will make excuse for the person that killed them or mistreated them this here is racism but racist never see the big picture
no name no your wrong to do with race and more we keep denying it this shows how prejudice we are but like i said and maintain when its black folk there is always an excuse to justify discrimination an cs gas gets sprayed in old black granny face by police there is an excuse police shoot 12 year boy for playing with toy gun in park there is an excuse i always wanted be white growing mum told me used to cry and say i wsd white as a child and i know why now as the disparity of equality between the 2 is huge and evident
How did the employee fail to follow company policy? If the cops actually arrested the couple, the employee must have had probable cause to believe there was serious trouble brewing.
Have you tried walking in to a restaurant, refusing to purchase anything, taking a table, still refusing to purchase anything and then refusing to move and leave? I wonder what would happen... I’ve experienced going into a restaurant with my young daughter and being told that I can’t use the bathroom unless I buy something. I bought a drink...
It will line the pockets of anti-bias consultants. It will encourage academics and think tanks to create research to support the notion that unconscious bias is a problem and that they have the solution. It will cost students their futures as they spend their first two decades or more learning about 'systems of oppression' and 'microaggressions'. It will cost millions in lost revenue as employees have to spend thousands of man hours being 'trained' not to be biased. It will incent racial antagonism and hypersensitivity since being the victim of bias now brings social currency.
_This training will achieve NOTHING. There's always going to be certain people who will FEEL like they are being discriminated against, even when they are not. The Philadelphia Starbucks incident was a stark example of just that!_
Starbucks is private property that is open to the public on the condition that people use their premises for the intended commercial use - that is buying something - not hanging around. Some businesses even have a sign that reads "We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone". Those two blacks did something that resulted in the clerk calling the police who then determined that an arrest was in fact warranted. If they were innocent, the police would have let them go.
Closing the stores for education was never claimed to be a solution. It’s claiming to start a conversation. To try to find an amiable solution and set boundaries
The Starbucks employee called the police who then decided that an arrest was in fact warranted. If those two guys weren't doing anything wrong. the cops would not have arrested them. But there must have been probable cause to believe that some sort of crime had been committed. or was being planned.
So it’s wrong to arrest 2 black men for not buying a coffee and creating a situation but ok to arrest Tommy Robinson a white male filming outside a courthouse. This is equality in 2018 ladies and gentlemen...
Tommy Robinson burst into the court room shouting & calling people pedophiles whilst streaming an official private court case live on facebook. When asked to stop, he fronted up to the Judge & gave nothing but flippancy & derision of our law. When the Judge held him in contempt of the law, he _still_ made trouble. Even when he was spared a 3 month prison sentence, he persisted in inaugurating confrontation. After much leniency, they saw fit to imprison him to calm him down & stop his vendetta. The man is out of control, & thinks that he is above the law. If he had a few more brain cells, he would realise that making white people look like crazed baleful racist thugs, is not setting a good example. And it completely took the focus off of the actual criminals in court that day.
" officers get called to a scene, when there is no scene at all" very true, if only the law enforcement institutions were equipped enough to understand this. The problem is that they too are institutionally racist.
Where are my PhD phrenologist alt-right? Let's hear about your opinion(s) on race and discrimination. By the way, Starbucks would very much prefer you sojourned in your basement than step into their establishment. Please don't start shooting the coffee shops too! 'Murica 'Murica 'Murica
I still don't know what the racial bias training will achieve, thanks for the waste of time. This American Life just released a segment with audio from the training which is much more informative than this and they also don't know what it will achieve. Also, the video keeps using implicit bias and systemic racism seemingly interchangably, they're different concepts and the causal pathway from the former to the latter is completely unknown and may not exist, although the reverse pathway is a little easier to imagine.

Asking black people to obey rules is racist.
How did the employee fail to follow company policy? If the cops actually arrested the couple, the employee must have had probable cause to believe there was serious trouble brewing.
Edward Hunter and if Jesus existed he would of looked Palestinian not African black.
🤣 seriously am black but this is so much like outrageous. You can’t just sit in a restaurant with out ordering anything at all.
Jobs mine YOU get it.
Jobs mine You're racist! REEEEEEEEEEE!......lol
Air Em Out how come?? It isn’t logical to sit down in a coffee shop with out ordering anything at all?
I agree. I was pretending to be one of the outrage people that we come across all the time.

Well clearly the company she worked for said she was in the wrong.
Argument done.
Black people😂😂😂
This is just a huge publicity stunt to make people think they’re a good company.
Its had the opposite effect on me, I think their idiots. And a bit authoritarian enforcing mandatory training under false pretences.

Buy something or get out!
Colin Morris ... if you’re white. If not, we don’t say anything. It would be racist to.

Starbucks still trying to placate, appease and pacify.
It will backfire! My friends and I were asked to leave a Starbucks and that we had to buy something or we couldn’t use the restroom. We are all white.
I was just hired by Starbucks, tomorrow I go in for my indoctrination.
Closing the stores for education was never claimed to be a solution. It’s claiming to start a conversation. To try to find an amiable solution and set boundaries
Trespassing is still a crime!

White, black, green, or purple - buy something or get the f**k out! Its really that simple.
Starbucks are enablers.
The problem is when people deny injustices are happening that is dangerous
I can tell this comment section is gonna get toxic
Could you just say what you just wrote in... English!
What will this achieve? Well, it's already achieved the approval of loitering by our progressive classes. Well 👏 done 👏
This is nothing but stupidity and I'm quitting Starbucks and I hope thousands will do the same👺👺👺

William Haines Two different countries. The laws in Britain that got Tommy arrested are just bizarre.

This is as stupid today as it was when it first happened.
One word...Wait for it...
DUH 😲!
SAY NO TO VICTIM HOOD 😁👍
The absolute state of journalism
Enforce buy something or leave.
I want free money, housing, and food! Why is the govt not providing this for me.
So what was racist about this incident!!?
Hopefully it will achieve a new place for homeless people to live in, during regular business hours of course.
"they where refused because the _hadn't_ ordered anything!" not because "they had important eating" :\
Wait a minute, you still have a network after what Jordan Peterson did to you in front of 17 million ?
Loitering Now Allowed..
MIKE BARAN Needs signs in places where people order food,No picking your nose.
Joe Mannix ...Wash Your Hands After You Pee...Thats A Good Sign To Post
