Finding The Best Pizza In New York | Food Tours | Insider Food
I am the guy that was shooting the video at Joe's pizza next to your team. Was pleasantly surprised to discover myself on your channel. Love your videos! Hope to see you guys in Seoul sometime. Would love to show you around.
you was dressed NICELY man
Is your Joe Pizza video uploaded yet?
Incredible 😂 hope you enjoyed, would love to visit you some day! I’ll bring my suit 😉
haha a collab coming out of this would be cool
Your channel looks super interesting! Shame i dont speak korean and there are no english subtitles :C
Pizza time!!! Can’t wait for you all to see this and the rest of the amazing stuff we filmed in NYC 🥳
I'm so jealous I would love to try a NYC Pizza Harry
No Lucali?!
@@MrFoolD no
This pizza day is an ideal way to spend a day eating your way around the city.
Hi, Harry!
You and Joe make a great team!
Thank you, both, for all that you do in bringing us such fun and interesting videos!
I was really happy to see this, I loved seeing Joe go to England for those Food Tour episodes and was wanting Harry to come to America for a "return the favor" series. I love their dynamic in person, they've got great chemistry! I hope they get to do more segments in person together in the future.
Or you could say Joe “returned the flavour”?
Is this thing on?
I’ll show meself out.
@woozertoo that is that best ever!
I love Food Tours, because it's the logical next steps for the Food Wars hosts. Sooner rather than later Insider Food is gonna run out of comparisons between multiple countries for Food Wars, and it makes a lot of sense to me to move it to something like this. I am all on board with Harry and Joe! Rock on!
I'm pretty excited if this idea does well it means the other nations can show their food culture to others. Great way to have cultural exchanges and broaden your mind.
@repentandbelieveinJesusChrist1 Now do the verse talking about a guy with a donkey schlong.
It'd be really interesting if Joe and Harry got back together the next time they're both in town and did a tour of NYC English pubs. I'm sure there are quite a few. Seeing Harry's reactions to that food would be really interesting.
I was really excited to try an English breakfast when I visited there, and it just confirmed the Brits aren't good at food, LOL. That's why they had to steal a cuisine from their most lucrative colony and fashion it into their own thing.
That being SAID... I did have a really good fish and chips experience. The place I went did a perfect job frying and seasoning the cod.
@@nahor88 From what I understand (my in-laws are English) It's a lot of pies, and not nearly enough seasoning. Nothing there has enough S&P, the sodas have like half of the sugar (probably a good thing tbh) and it's just not as creative. I do absolutely love a good Shepherd's pie though.
@@nahor88 you know knob all about English food. A full English breakfast isn’t a measure of anything. Assuming you’re American, would I rate your food based on burger and fries? You can judge American food on its fat content and portion size.
Bizarrely you’re passing comment on a video of pizza in the US. Not an American creation is it, just adapted for the yank taste. Not a patch on Italian pizza either. The typical yank would suggest pizza is American.
As for fish and chips, I bet you’d not know a decent portion of them if the fish bit you on your arse.
@@nahor88The only people who could afford spices during those times we're the rich. Myself, I enjoy English meat pies, fish and chips, plus so much more
I love Red Hot Chili Peppers, but that description was so accurate 😭😭😭😂😂😂
YESSS! I was hoping you guys would do a NYC series, since there is SO many unique places in NYC that you guys could hit up for Food Tours.
Cannot wait to see the series going forward! You two have such a great chemistry, and it makes me smile.
I need food tours in Japan
@@illford6921nah the concept of going to japan for the food has been done to death, what we need is an indian food tour with Nikhil
i need tours in Iraq
"Recognize this"!? Holds up Pepper Flakes
"Uhh, Yeah, I think Pepper Flakes"?
"NO, IT'S PEPPER FLAKES"
The Red Hot Chili Peppers bit killed me 😂😂 6:34
Did it!? Oh no!
We need more vids like this! There aren’t enough shows like this nowadays.
Please keep doing these, I love food tours!! Also your chemistry is great!
You can never have too much Pizza. I liked these two’s chemistry and reviews. 🍕 👏 🤣
such a great duo, love the chemistry
Artichoke is actually a really common topping in pizzas here in Italy.
One of the staple pizzas (4 stagioni) consists of tomatoe sauce, mozzarella, mushrooms, ham, olives and artichoke 😂
Artichoke is vile but I respect your food
Heading to Rome next week, any recommendations on a vegetarian pizza?
@@illford6921 i 100% agree with you hahahah
@@rhaegartargaryen9315 every pizza place here usually has a pizza called "Ortolana" or "Vegetariana" (which literally means vegetarian) which is basically just tomatoe sauce, mozzarella and veggies.
I'd also stay away from restaurants near/in big tourist points like the Colosseo or Fontana di Trevi. There's a part of the city called Trastevere which has a lot of very good restaurants
Artichoke is the best topping hands down!
Harry's reaction to Joe's Red Bull & Coke is absolute gold, Absolute confusion. I don't think I have EVER eaten pizza like that. I've had pizza in Turkey.. in Poland... Takeout & home cooked.. But never anything like in this video! I am missing out.
Do they not have thin crush NY style in turkiye?
@@ryephilno
Not sure anything good has ever come out of Poland or Turkey
Dude lives in NYC for a year and says “to show him how WE do in NYC” lololol
“Calm ya ass down” (said in stereotypical nyc accent) Joe’s finest quote
Love seeing you guys together. I really see the colleague chemistry, you both complement each other. Wish I could food tour with you.
they queer af lol 🏳🌈
Love when you guys get together!!! So much fun to watch!!!
Can't wait for the rest of this series! Also kinda hoping at some point there will be a Japan and India series 😍😁
Joe and Harry on a tour, and NYC, amazing, love these!!! :D
So I guess Joe's secret to being goofy and funny is Red Bull mixed with Coke. Also Harry really brought some British classiness to the New York area. Stay fun guys.
Indubitably
@@raychellchristopher3882 :D
I understand you didn't mean disrespect but that is your opinion, and not reflected by the entire global population. You should have disclaimed this before being insensitive to those who might not agree with you.
So again I understand your point but mind your business and smarten up.
@@CrabbinFever Did you reply to the wrong person?
@@Night-Jester not everyone thoroughly and vehemently believes that Joe is goofy and funny. You exclaimed it as if it were a solid peer reviewed fact. News flash: it wasn't. I do understand your conviction just learn to mind your business on those subjects, thanks.
As an Italian i would like to say something about the "rulebook" that Joe mentioned earlier in the video, saying that for us there are more thing that you CAN'T do with pizza than the opposite.
I mean, until a few years ago that was true, because from all the famous "pizzaioli" (pizza chef), or chef in general, here in Italy mostly belong to the old generation, from the 60s to the middle-late 80s.
The new generation of pizza chef are way more open minded, I saw videos of an italian foodblogger who went to different places where young and excellent chefs made many different types of pizza, with ingredients that are rarely seen on the traditional italian pizzas.
Trust me, just give us time, the old generation is still attacched to the nazionalistic (?) spirit where italy is the king of food and no one can break the rules we made. I saw this video with my stomach roumbling cause those pizzas looked delicious
Thank you for the response! I just wanted to clear things up on this topic because I always see and read opinions about italians that as the time passes are just becoming stereotypes rather than actual truth. Really really appreciate that someone actually read all my comment and found it interesting, even because english is obv not my first language and I' trying my best to be clear. Now it's lunch time but this evening I'm gonna eat a good old pizza from a pizzeria near by like every saturday evening 😂🍕
What Joe said about the Red Hot Chili peppers was the most accurate statement i've ever heard. Flea is one of my favs but I can't stand most of RHCP's songs.
This legendary series is back, I'm so happy!
These two opposing persona really personified the importance of being nice, communicative and authentic.
The pizza helps too.
Love quality pizza! Always a great video and review by Joe and Harry!
Another advantage of a hotter oven is that the cheese doesn't cook as long. This ensures the fat doesn't render out and turn the slice into a greasy mess.
Missing both Lucali, Scarrs, and Di Fara is criminal.
Legend has it that Insider still bans its employees from visiting Lucali...
@@alextgordon food insider erinne went to lucali and helped make the pizza in an episode.
Italians are running around with their hair on fire watching this
Why am I watching this after mid-night? I am hungry.
I've been waiting for this the last couple months, I'm loving it.
Hell yeah boys!! Looking forward to the next one already!
"It eludes the rest of the world having pizza this good... it really does". Truer words never spoken.
Anthony Kiedis and RHCP are getting hit by strays 6:54! Joe is savage! 🤣🤣🤣
The golden duo, Harry and Joe! Love it! New York pizza baby!
I love watching you two, makes my day watching your videos !
Absolutely love that the two of you got together in a video like this !!! Lol
Great video! Along with the NYC burger tour also. You two have a great chemistry together. You should both just tour the world trying different food and rating them 😝
Time for a "Food Tour" to Chicago for Chicago pizza! Then make your way to LA for pizza, too!
Chicago yes other cities no
@@tiffprendergast New Haven?
The final decision would go to their boss. I only offer suggestions.
They can name the series 'Pizza in shit hole cities'
Joe's Anthony Kiedis impression was on point 😆
Yes, Finally! After London, the U.S. series is here.
I was waiting for this. I'm excited for the rest of the NYC eps!
The Nonna Maria at Bleecker is a legendary slice.
I love the adventures of Harry & Draco, er, Joe!
🍕❤
I love the two of them together 😭😭
I love this series! Keep it coming. 😊
Doing a NYC Pizza video with no Ray's is wild.
Im loving the American Vs British temperament this episode. Joe is definitely feeling the assertive NY vibes 😂😂😂
I really hope someone in the crew is carrying around the leftovers in these Tours so there's no waste. The boys would have food for a day or two at the hotel.
They probably do.
exactly. it threw me off hearing them saying about how good the pizzas were then next thing you know theyre leaving big pieces of leftovers saying that the pigeons will eat it. like wtf. very unappreciative.
literally the first thing that came to mind, +1
I’ve heard camera staff and producers/directors rave about doing food shows. They all eat very well when cut is called. The fact you think they leave the food on the table and just walk away is wild. You know they don’t just get up and leave the cameras and stuff there? 🤔 it’s tv/entertainment. It’s quite a process filming something like this and there will be a few people behind the camera. Set up/close down. It’s a whole thing. And I’m sure that all the food gets eaten.
YES MY GUYS !!!
I commented when you 1st started this series suggesting you guys go to each others country’s ! Been awesome watching you guys friendship really bloom
Love these guys together and love food tours
THIS IS THE CONTENT WE NEED MORE JOE AND BRITISH DUDE MARK.
ALSO WE NEED CHINA AND INDIA COLLABS TOO. I LOVE FOOD INSIDER
Mark? Do you mean Harry 😭
totally with joe on "real" pizza snobbery. stop limiting what pizza can be! good food is good food!
I have never heard that american food was 'good food'( or even food)
@@nicolovoci7265NY Pizza and Chicago pizza are amazing. American food gets a bad reputation, somewhat fairly, due to portions and fast food but realistically every country has good chefs so obviously there is good food everywhere. I also just think America has some amazing deserts
@@nicolovoci7265I mean tbf I've heard people call food from every country "not food". Some people don't think goat feet is food, I think it is. A lot of people are just snobby because they need to feel like the best. Imo everywhere sucks in some way
@@nicolovoci7265UK HAS JELLIED EELS AND BEANS ON TOAST
@@nicolovoci7265Yeah, that's why all the best chefs in the world want to come to America.
My pizza place is in Brooklyn.
I've been going there since I was ten.
The cheese pulls, the golden crust is crispy and the sauce falls on the plate.
Made by Italians.
The end
The pizza there feels so mouthwatering, and I already had pizza for lunch. Sounds like I need some for dinner, too.
Amazing series lads! Would be interesting to see the flip side of these, like best pizza places in London and best British roasts in nyc, see how the other side of the ponds deal with another countries classics ?
So glad you did Artichoke. My favorite slice in the city 😋
😂😂😂 12:32 the dance break was unexpected but awesome! I love these videos
I don't get the Bleecker Street Pizza deal. I did a tour of 13 different pizza slice places and Bleecker Street was at the bottom the list. Joe's, Prince St, Village, and Scarr's were some of the top ones that made my list. Bleecker didn't crack the top 10.
Glad you ventured outside of Manhattan for the last one. If you're a Brit that is more used to Italian-style crusts, L'Industrie Pizzeria in Williamsburg is a mix of that, but with New York pizza slice sizes, and it was wonderful. Has a massive queue when we went in the early evening, but it was worth it.
That’s the best in my opinion
Great series. Really good interaction between you. Making me hungry. 👍
Not Joe talking smack about the chili peppers✌🏻😔
Man I love this channel they doing all kinds of content 😊
Can't believe he just said he doesn't like the Red Hot Chilli peppers
That is easily the funniest Red Hot Chilli Peppers take I've heard 🤣 @6:54
YES! The return of an incredible series
Bro’s for life 🍕 Great series 👌🏻
“You khow what really could make this Coke better?? Some more fizzly sugary water with a different color!!”
I remember visiting my grandma in nyc and eating ad Joe's, it was the best pizza I had when I was a kid, a lot of great memories.
Joe's Pizza will forever be legendary
I’m going to NYC next week so this is perfect timing.
Artichoke Basille's looked delicious!
Not on this planet it didn't... revolting look crap
No crust was harmed in filming this. Lol the best part
Totally Love & Appreciate Joes approach to pizza, No Rules! I’m a sauce guy like Harry too. Great Episode.
Toby Maguire was the best Spiderman. Hands down.
No question about it 🤣😅
Harry
Those chilli flakes were always on the table in Pizza Hut. Not been in one for a long time though, so don't know if they still do them.
dude they have such a bromance i like that so much
no Mama's Too, no Scarrs ... welp, someone at Insider food is just phoning it home
New York pizza is a different beast than usual American pizza, which is a totally different beast than pizza from Naples lol It's all good. Put it in my belly, I want it all!
Well New York is the original American pizza. Fast food delivery pizza is definitely something else
What do you consider a usual American pizza? There’s like 25 different pizza styles in the states
Not NY style, but Una Pizzeria Napoletana recently tied for #1 on a world ranking
Tiny Tim wasn't a chimney sweep, but somehow I get it. Chimney Sweep energy.
DUMBO, named after the elephant?!🐘😆 (Down Under the Manhattan Bridge Overpass)! Love the pizza slice love 🍕!
The fact that you didn’t visit Di Fara’s or Lucali’s is a crime.
Lucali’s is hipster yuppie pizza. I would have gone to Di Fara’s over that other hipster yuppie artichoke shit. John’s is still the best pizza here. Also Patsy’s on East Harlem is amazing and where my parents took us since childhood for “fancy” pizza.
@@cactaceous Di Fara took a dip in quality after the old man passed away. His descendants have his recipe and method, but not that special touch. Covid also messed things up.
@@nahor88 Haven’t been in some time but did go for many years after college cause a friend lived close.
Great Episode. Love it. One thing I dont think ive ever had in UK is a pizza with the kinda cheese pull you get with New York Pizza.
I like how all the pizzaiolos are mexican 😂🇲🇽
I thought this series already over. Keep it flowing guys!!!
wow im so hungry watching this, when you started sprinkling those red chili flakes my mouth was ready
I literally shouted YES!!!! When Artichoke came on! It’s one of the reasons I want to come back to NYC!
Artichoke’s sucks
John’s is one of my favorites of all time. Two absolute must tries is L’Industrie in Williamsburg and Lucali in Carrol Gardens. Honorable mention to the white pie at Fini, also in Williamsburg.
“Some people just innovate for the sake of it”… as Harry eyeballs Joe adding red bull to coke 😂
I’m waiting for the next sequel, food peace, where instead of comparing they just show what they have in common lol
Food Stores
no prince st? sure its not the typical new york slice but ill take that rectangle pizza with all those pepperoni anyday
Thin crust, not burnt but crispy pizza with minimal dough along the outside edge is my fav too
It might be not my favourite pizza style, but it looks all of those locations makes pizza the way they would like to eat it, and that's the key factor to run a succesfully business in the food industry. Nice job!
Great ch🍕ices! For Part 2, consider visiting Nick's Pizza in Queens, and Totonno's, Roberta's, and Spumoni Gardens in Brooklyn!😋
i love how nyc is so filled with great pizzerias that suggestions are just coming in without stopping
Agreed. I especially love Roberta's sauce, but I also tend to lean towards the Neapolitan style
Think nicks is closed due to a fire
@@chriscaz1239 you're right. Google says temporarily closed😫. Yelp says it may reopen Sept 30, 2023. 🤞
The take on Red Hot Chili Peppers was so on the money I laughed out loud. Well done, sir.
Finally been waiting for this video🎉
I want to see more of this series!
Do more food tours
