The MAXIDENT album is available in Dolby Atmos / Spatial Audio in Apple Music and I assume in Spotify too. I highly recommend listening to the real album in Dolby for the best quality because a lot of the details are lost when uploaded to RUclips.
If you like straykids, I think you will like Ateez too. Ateez is also a kpop group, and I would recommend listening to their song guerrilla or their whole album/episode "THE WORLD. EP1 :MOVEMENT". It is also like metal music, so I think you will like it too.
Welcome to the noisy melodically chaotic Stayville!! You should definitely watch their music videos after audio listening. Thunderous, God’s Menu and Chk Chk Boom has Deadpool and Wolverine cameos are a good place to start :}
that one time someone filmed chan dropping his laptop at the airport a few months ago and not only was chan worried his laptop broke, but so were stays lmfao
@tonystocco Seriously. Predebut Chan would stay up til 5 in the morning working on music, sleep and go back to the company at 10 am. My man never sleeps. He literally fell asleep AT the computer one time, hand on the mouse.
You know what sets you apart from other reactors? You genuinely listen to the songs and to the whole album. You’re not distracted by the music video (they have amazing MVs btw), their stunning visual or the choreography for their songs. Your reaction is purely listening to all the sounds and layers in their music. We appreciate hearing your feedback and knowing that the hardwork they put in their songs/albums is being appreciated.
I’m starting to listen to music differently after watching your reaction videos. Thank you for opening up another aspect to these songs that I’ve heard so much. 😮
Same here, when he said that in the song of 143 the high pitch scream that Han sang before low voice Felix cut in is a chief's kiss 💋 I really proud of Chris' masterpiece and so great that someone can really appreciate them from their music not only from them thier killing looks.
"This song is a masterpiece. Full stop." Damn, I SO want Chan, Changbin, and Han to find your channel and watch these reactions. They are "3Racha" the writing and producing team of Stray Kids. Other members also write tracks, but those three write the bulk of them. And this song was written BY them, FOR them, as 3Racha's song. And I REALLY want them to see this reaction to it. All of yours, really, because I feel like they would be SO chuffed that you are only reacting to the music in these.
Your bias can only be the one and only BANGCHAN the man responsible for 99% of Stray Kids beats and bass lines 😉 His computer needs its own bodyguard 😂
So hey. I have a friend that has been trying to get me into Kpop for a decade. None of the groups she showed me appealed to me (nothing against those groups, just not my personal taste). Then she offhandedly mentioned Stray Kids. I was fascinated and now I'm finding other bands that are off the beaten path. I could never figure out why they grabbed my ear when the others didn't. I was just telling that friend last night about finding your reaction to Ate and how it absolutely helped me understand _why_ I dug them. I played part of one of your reactions for her, and then I played Tool's Schism and 46 and 2 for her. When she heard Schism, she fully understood why I dug Stray Kids and not some of the other groups she showed me. 🤣 Not the same _type_ of music, but there's a vibe there. I also dig Mr Bungle and all the weird sound experiments they did back in the day. This whole ramble is to say: I dig your reactions, and NEVER apologize for the pauses and talking about the song. If I wanted to listen to the song, I'd just...go do that. I'm here to listen to your take on it. You're awesome.
The Tool and Stray Kids connection is real... Thanks for this comment, I really appreciate the "If I wanted to listen to the song, I'd just...go do that" - that helps a ton. Thank you.
@@MarleyM414 The most recent one I've found is Kard. They're one of the few co-ed groups out there. I've only heard a handful of songs so far, but I've dug what I've heard.
Can't wait until you hear Side Effects or Tortoise and the Hare 😅😅😅 You should try a Japanese album, like The Sound. I love that title track to bits. I'd do it with the MV cuz it's so good, it really captures the grandiosity of the song. And of SKZ in general. After that, In Life. You're gonna love Back door, has so many sounds and the bassss.. omg, the live bass is deliciously funky and groovy.
Track 5, 6 and 7 weren't all 8 members singing. 3RACHA was being sang by 3Racha - the producing unit of Stray Kids (which consists of, in order of when they sang, Changbin, Han the 2 main insane rappers and last was Bang Chan the leader. Taste was being sang by DanceRacha - the performing/dancing unit of SKZ which focuses more on performing and choreography side of things (Felix the deep voice, Lee Know the one that kept hitting the high notes and Hyunjin), the stage video of this song is very cool Can't Stop was being sang by VocalRacha - the 2 youngest members who are more focused in amazing vocals, they usually do ballads in their unit songs, or rarely like this one a lil more popish lighthearted songs. A few days ago Stray Kids posted 2 docuseries videos on the 3 festivals they headlined this summer, I'd really recommend checking that out to get a feeling of their behind the scenes and live performances which are absolutely amazing, which makes sense why their concerts are packed and festivals keep asking for them. Also they are performing at the AMAs 50th anniversary on 6th of October and rumors have it that they'll do a special performance to honor the legacy of boy bands (Backstreet Boys, NSYNC, etc)
Omg I’m still on track five , but my cheeks hurt from grinning so hard . Why do I feel like proud mama every time someone not into kpop discovers skz and is blown away by their genius production! 🥹😭 P,s first pronunciation for 3racha was correct.
I so so hope Chan finds this channel! I think he would love to hear you notice the nuances and layers he puts in their music. Dude, I would love to see you two sit down and talk about all the stuff you notice and hear Chan talk about the part of his music that I think gets the least attention. That "pots and pans" sound that we love so much is the layers of sound that Chan incorporates, and I don’t think enough people talk about it. Thank you so much for going through these. I have gained a new appreciation for what they do. I never even noticed a lot of the sounds until you pointed them out. I can’t wait to see what you do next!
You single handedly make STAY open their ears and appreciate SKZs musical creativity on completely another level ! They are truly masters of their craft and we haven´t even mentioned that on top of all these amazing sounds their lyrics are genius with wordplay, double or triple meanings in 2 - 3 different languages.
Honestly I was just thinking about what a positive effect these reactions have had, I know my own little circle of STAY has been wildly appreciative of this intensive re-focus on the music ❤️
35:59 THAT'S CHRIS, OUR AUSTRALIAN LEADER!!!!! HE GOES SO HARD IT'S RIDICULOUS. 🤘He also wrote the beat. "They always say the same excuses. While they're complaining, we're producing." They know they are in a league of their own.
it's insane how much better i can hear the details of their songs in a reaction video than in most of streaming platforms? like, HOW? i'm keeping up with all your uploads now and it's so nice to relisten to all off their records paying attention to all these missing noises and background sounds (i admit, i do not have the best earbuds here lol) and please ! we need you to react to The Tortoise And The Hare (a bside on the repackage album "IN LIFE") and Side Effects (title song on the album "Clé 2: Yellow Wood" - you're gonna go nuts. their previous works were even most experimental, in a time that they were still rookies in the industry, even before their '"boom"" in south korea... they faced a lot of blacklash for this in the kpop bubble at the time, but us - pots and pans enjoyers - kept the faith in them... and see were they are now !!!! anyways. thanks for another amazing reaction!
The Tortoise and The Hare is my favourite from that album, it is just so different, but the rythm appeals to me in such a special way. I can't wait for Tony's analysis.
I came to recommend these two songs because EXACTLY. As a newbie in the kpop world who had preconceived expectations of the genre, those two tracks blew me away. They were so ahead of their time. I can't wait to see Tony's reaction to these two tracks.
Like people said previously, I love how many things you can hear! (I'm team music with headphones on and I don't pick that much sounds haha). By the way the quality of the sound in your video is part of the reason I love your reacts!
My biggest fear is I talk about the amazing the sound quality from Stray Kids and then my own videos sound like dog sh*t! I'm still trying to figure that out, so I appreciate your comment.
Ok, so I had a whole different comment written when I first started watching your reaction. Saying how this is not my favourite album and wondering why you chose this one to react to next. But goddamn, after watching your video I think i have a whole new appreciation to Maxident. They way you broke down each and every song like this, made me really go into all the details and I gotta dmit. This has been amazing. I found my new love in Madident. Didnt think you could do this for me in 1 hour, but here we are! So thank you. Im a huge Maxident stan now 😅
This is incredible! I love this for you! I have to admit that being a rabid SKZ fan for the last 16 months, there were several songs that I just wasn’t into. But I found myself going back to those songs in recent months and either falling in love with them or at least being able to appreciate certain aspects. Of course, there’s also nothing wrong with just not liking a song because it’s not your vibe. 😊
So little fact about chill.... Han Jisung wrote this track... He had the 1st verse.... Got to the studio made the track recorded the verce.... Didnt like it....scraped it started over and ended up writing and producing and recording the guide in 3hrs.
48:05 straykids usually dont perform with instruments - at the end of the day they are kpop idols (as much as they dont seem like it) and so they usually dance on stage (there are exeptions where they have performed with instruments, but very rarely). often times they have a band that performs with them! i also really enjoy your reactions, these are songs that i have listened to so many times and yet you manage to point out something that i havent noticed before and i absolutely love it. if you are looking for some new groups to react to i really recommend xdinary heroes. they are almost like little brothers of straykids and are a band that performs with instruments. again love your videos and keep up the good work!
5:12 han (one of the producers and main rappers) is often the person who does those screams for their songs. I can’t say for sure if this one is him but i think it is
@@steviemoorhead I’ve seen this one in concert and I saw Han do it, but of courseeeee that doesn’t mean he did it in the recording cause we all know how much 3RACHA like to adlib in shows lol
@@steviemoorhead yeah he's a possibility too but I'm leaning towards it being han bc it sounds more like his tone, but the two of them can be hard to distinguish tone wise for stuff like this
23:49 Chris's pure vocals and Aussie accent coming through here is always my favorite part of this song. (Stage name Bang Chan. He's the one that makes almost all the beats.)
I've only watched a bit, but commenting before I forget. A lot of fans didn't like that Case 143 was a love song when it came out and said they wanted the noise music back. It's like seeing hearts and pastels on the screen makes some people incapable of hearing all the different genres, screams, sirens, bass, etc. lol. While it has a different theme, to me it fits right in with the rest of their title tracks. I'm glad you got to listen to it audio-only first to just focus on the music.
Yeah, I remember this one being controversial at the time too! In a weird way, though, I feel like it encapsulates skz the best of all their title tracks. It really just explains them as a group! It's dark at times, super bright and airy in others, extremely catchy and full of charisma, full of love and confusion and funny moments.
I know youre not much for mv reactions maybe buuuut i would love to see some at some point because stray kids mvs are just FUN❤ Also behind the scenes stuff reactions would be dope
Stray Kids *can* be summed up into a single genre. It's "internal soundtrack of an ADHD brain." It's also why those of us *with* ADHD brains can listen to so much of it.
I don't have ADHD, but I am autistic, so some of the general struggles with sound sensitivity are familiar to me. I genuinely just laugh whenever someone mockingly calls Stray Kids' music "noisy" because this very level of noisiness sounds absolutely perfect to me! :D The most recent example is "MOUNTAINS", because it can get quite overwhelming near the end - but I still feel _comfortable_ listening to it, and it doesn't send me spiralling into annoying panic attacks with sensory overload. Which is brilliant, really, and one of the many reasons I love their music so much.
I'm Audhd and can actually comfortably fall asleep to SKZ music and it is my comfort music even when overstimulated and overwhelmed by sounds around me 😂😂
To your question about if anyone has ever told SKZ they can't do a genre well. For the longest time, they had people saying their vocals weren't good. Idk if those people were tone deaf or what but it was routinely said. Stray Kids responded by sending their main rappers Changbin and Han to the Masked Singer followed by their vocal line Seungmin and I.N to the same show. Then, their collaboration with Charlie Puth for the song Lose my Breath is so vocal heavy with all of the members singing in a unique style and they did a live performance video to go with it. Not to mention they've had 4 members, Lee Know, Han, Seungmin, and I.N, on the Lee Mujin Service show (live singing show) and performed multiple songs on The First Take show where they sing live through their songs in one take. So, essentially, SKZ said, "Ha. Why you mad, bruh?" And gave a huge 🖕🏻 to the haters. I love them so much. 😂
39:51 honestly what I’m thinking about is that that singer was a professional dancer who was told by the company that from then on his only priority was dance, not to bother with learning rap or singing when they brought him on one month before stray kids started their show. He’s come a very long way
36:20 3RACHA are the three bigbrains behind most of the composing, lyrics and producing of Stray Kids songs. You appreciating the song they made about themselves is so spot on 😄 Also, to further blow our minds, Stray Kids don't just put out an incredible amount of astonishing music, but they are (and need to be, by job description) full-fledged entertainment professionals. Meaning they also constantly put out hours and hours of their own shows, guest appearances, variety tv, live broadcasts, vlogs, social media content, modelling gigs etc etc. And manage to cater to a huge array of audiences. Their professionalism is just incredible all in all.
I’ve been looking for a comment telling him about 3racha. Makes people have even more respect for them when they understand the complexity of all they do.
I REALLY want to see him react to one of their festival stages(Lollapalooza, BST Hyde Park, I-Days Milano.) I just know you’ll lose your mind listening to their insane arrangements with the live band lmaooo. Glad you’re enjoying!!!!
Again... this Stay and so many others absolutely love how you have managed to find this group, inhaled just a small sampling of their massive discography, and really amassed an appreciation of their talent. You actually enjoy them for their SOUND and rarely do Stay get to find reactors who start with audio only! It is absolutely refreshing in a pool of so many just go with a combo of visual and audio. I find that I enjoy every pause you make because you bring up something I either missed or am saying, "I KNOW, RIGHT?!?" to my screen. Thanks, again, Tony, for making us fall in love with the SKZ sound all over! Sax song...Careless Whisper *sirens will be on every SKZ album and I'm always doing a double check in my car mirrors!
it’s a lighter album in therms of not every song giving you a smack on the face as hard as the older ones do, doesn’t mean its a bubbly pop summery album either :) stray kids is a genre itself atp, so when we say it’s a lighter song, it means that it’s a lighter song on the stray kids pattern, not necessarily the general idea of a light song
Actually, a lot of sounds make sense if you watch the video. The sirens on Case 143 cause they are dressed as cops, and they really used a cop car. The clock or counting sound on Give Me you TMI because they're as 007 James Bond could we say? It's for a bomb, as well the sound of glass shaking, could be related to ice shaking on whisky glass, they show that too.
I believe it was THE KINGSMEN. But you are perfectly right in what you are saying. These sounds are there for a reason and they highlight them in the MVs
Case 143 - one of the few "love songs" of SKZ. The song's about being afraid of falling in love, and as cute as it is, the MV shows this fear in elements of The Shining sprinkled throughout the video.
one of my favorite things in this series has been watching the joy growing in your expression with each reaction with each new thing that SHOULDN'T work but JUST DOES. No last step out fr fr
Omg. I am from austria so german speaking and i know the song 99 luftballons since my childhood and i NEVER thought about it. But i think you are right. It is similar or the same link in 99 Luftballons from NENA. 😂 i really love your reaction and your pausing. You dont know what it is but you find sounds or speciall thinks of the production i never heart after listening so often to the tracks. It is so interessting! And i waited for you to discover Circus 😂 And i think Bang Chan is your bias bc he is making most of the sounds and beats that you love ❤🎉😊 Gread work and thanks to your hard work!! 🎉
I will forever stand by my belief that it was not JYPE that brought the Stray Kids members together. It was God. It could only be divine intention that eight men with so much talent and so much like-mindedness came together at just the right time to start experimenting and producing exactly the kind of music that a jaded industry needed. The music that so many individuals needed! You'll see many a story from STAYs (myself included), how, when they were at a major low point in their lives, heard a SKZ song that spoke right to their heart and shoved them right into the wild world of STAYVILLE. It had to be fate.
EVERYTIME you are amazed or appreciate something I just smile and nod my head .... There is NO OTHER GROUP out there like SKZ ❤ 3Racha BLOWS my mind every time I listen to it. You have to listen to HEYDAY by 3Racha, (3Racha is the Production sub-unit of SKZ) 3Racha is made up of 3 members -Bang Chan, Changbin, and Han. They produce and write 99% of all their stuff. When someone asks what genre SKZ music is, the answer is Stray Kids....the genre of music IS Stray Kids. 🤩
@tonystocco well ... in the music video a grilled chicken kind of slaps Felix (one of the boys) and this is the sound that is used to exaggerate it. 😂😂
@@yoanayordanova1522 great explanation of a completely chaotic scene! ahh, I miss the Stayville arguments over whether it was a chicken or a turkey that slapped Felix. Good times, lol. That video is super creative and worth a watch.
It actually is a gunshot tho. They just used the chicken a slap in the video for well timed and amazing comedic effect! 🤣 But if you watch the dance practice it actually has a auditory, visual and lyrical (lyrical has 2) quadruple meaning (per the usual with Stray Kids!). Auditory = the sound of a gunshot Visual = in the choreo, Changbin steps away from the group and points a finger gun at them "shooting" them at the sound and they all fall away as if shot and Lyrical = the gunshot sound comes at the part where they say "No Cap" which colloquially today has a slang meaning of "no lie" or "I'm not lying" essentially, which is what they meant for the song lyrically. But "Cap" also has another slang meaning for "bust a cap" or "pop a cap" which means to shoot someone with a gun. So genius!!
@@MakeGoodTrouble you right, that is definitely a part of the choreo. I love that choreo. favorite part is where the ones seated look like they are turning on air.
Stay since 2019. Someone asked Chan in some interview many years ago, what music he was listening to and he said he wasn’t listening to any music in particular but trying to capture the sounds around him. I knew then he was on a different level❣️
It's very cool to see you already point out things like "this song's different", cause usually a different member of 3Racha took the reins on those tracks. Your favorite hard hitting, dynamic, ever-changing songs at the beginning of albums are always created by Chan (who, to be fair, is behind 97% of their discography in some capacity). The smoother, soulful ones like Chill, Twilight, Collision (but also the nasty Get Lit) are almost entirely by Han. And while Changbin is mostly behind lyrics, the songs he produces by himself tend to lean more easy-listening and poppy, like for DLC, Surfin', I Like It and Leave. Their different approaches make the EPs so eclectic and interesting to get through
Nailed it! You captured their styles exactly😂 What I like about 3racha is that they're always trying new things, learning to improve their craft and sharpening each other's skills❤
42:22 I *think* what you’re picking up is a tone shift in the vocal, where it goes from this breathy pretty bright-ish “head voice” thing to a much darker/richer mix as it descends. That’s something you would mainly actually do while singing, with no effects at all, and doing it that smoothly and impactfully is a pretty serious skill. There might have been a bit of a shift in whatever processing was on it to support that overall effect but the core of it would have to be the vocal itself. (Source: several years of vocal training myself + futzing around a bit with mics / effects / etc)
I've been a stay for a year now and yet it feels like i'm rediscovering their music with you. Like i'm noticing new things about it and i absolutely love it. Thank you!
Lol you should see the video for Superboard--straight out of every skaterboy's childhood. I learned their discography by video and audio files, so I can't hear one of the songs now without seeing the MV in my brain.
omg i'm right on time for this one yay !! in case nobody explained this yet skz' songs are usually produced by 3racha which is a sub-unit from skz composed by BangChan (the leader), Changbin and Han! Other members contribute to the lyrics and stuff but the production is mainly 3RACHA skz is composed by 3 units: 3RACHA which are the producers/rappers, DANCERACHA (LeeKnow/Felix/Hyunjin) that are the dancers and VOCALRACHA (Jeongin/Seungmin) that are the vocalists in general skz is a very diverse group so everyone does a bit of everything but i thought it would be interesting to explain about it!!!! the units have solo songs and the members too, they have a whole album (SKZ-Record) dedicated to that! btw i'm a han biased so i have to say that you should totally listen to quote unquote hanpop (which is any song produced and written by Han Jisung) I personally say you should listen to "maybe" cause it's my favorite but it's only on youtube yet but anyway thank you so much for your reactions, i already watched all of them and subscribed!! i'm glad you're enjoying the kids' music 😽😽😽 (and sorry abt my broken english ehehe)
btw other fun fact is that Bangchan's english name is actually Christopher and him and Felix are actually Australian! that's why they have some songs in english and stuff
Loving your reactions as usual. I had to laugh though, you were listening to 3Racha and I was enthralled by Han’s flawless rap flow and you paused it mid-word to talk about the baseline! So fun to go through the albums with you. I’m hearing songs I haven’t explored yet, as I tend to avoid the softer more pop sounding ones. I’ve grown in my appreciation by seeing the musical/production genius through your eyes (ears). Thank you again.
Hi! It's interesting to hear another different perspective on Stray Kids' music. If you want to see how crazy their songs can be, try watching Stray Kids' performance at MAMA Awards - Venom + MANIAC (MAMA ver.) in your free time (due to copyright). They remixed their songs and it sounds even cooler. You'll also check out how interesting their live shows are.
Other reactors have been able to post it. At worst he may just have to add a filter over the video. I just watched a reactor post his reaction to it just in this last week so I think he'd be fine!
Stray Kids also has a live band that travels with and backs them, several members also play instruments as well. Like you said, "what can't they do? A few of them are also quite athletic as well. All rounders for sure!
Oh Tony!! Loved your vid as usual. I was so excited knowing what was coming in some of those songs. Glad your backing up after pausing, theres just too much for bits not o get missed even in a straight play through. Appreciate the panning point outs! I learned my phone has a setting i could turn on called atmos, combine that with holding it under my chin gives a headphone effect so i made sure to do it ever time you said panning and i got to hear it YAY! I also fittledy ass off before and during superboard being an 80s baby myself.
Thanks Heather. If Atmos helps, many of Stray Kids more recent albums are in Dolby Atmos / Spatial Audio -- at least that's what it shows in Apple Music. There's definitely a difference (I'd say an improvement) in how Atmos albums sound vs regular/non-atmos.
Tracks 5 through 7 are unit songs: 5. 3racha- done by 3racha (3 members) 6. Taste- done by Danceracha (3 members) 7. Can't Stop- done by Vocalracha (2 members) 8. Circus- yes, the entire video for this is in the big top of a circus, and the elephant makes an appearance along with fireworks. SKZ even does some of the stunts in the background, as there are 2 sets of Stray Kids.
Thanks again Tony. Such joy to see de changing expressions in your eyes, and to be able to listen along like its for the first time, when I've listened to this music a million times. Love it.
I have watched a ton of skz reaction videos, and I have to say these are top favorite. His reactions and his comments are just amazing. I cannot wait to see him react to more albums! IN LIFE specifically!!!!
@@tonystocco so i'm rewatching these, cuz i love these videos, and the laugh in circus - I believe that is actually Han. He does a lot of the crazy sounds and laughs you hear
wow did not expect the maxident reaction but i love it anyways. i didnt expect it because it's not that much of a fans' favourite when it comes to stray kids albums since its a bit different than their other music. this is the first time they did a love themed album but even for this one, they made the theme unique to them by approaching love as a strange feeling to them and being cautious of catching feelings for someone. the name of the album is again, a word play. it refers to love as 'maximum incident' they even put the title case 143 lol. this was another greatt reaction thank you for your honesty. i was thinking maybe you can watch their 'intro's before doing a reaction to one album. they film intro videos to their albums, they explain how they made the songs how they picked them and fit into an album, the production writing and recording process etc. i think those videos could help you understand why that specific sounds are used in one song or why they put autotune in one part or anything like that. i am heavily suggesting doing that with 5 star and then rockstar. you don't have to put that into your reaction but even watching the intros by yourself would be great. it does give you a compass about the album and all the songs. i actually admire stray kids even more now. you said some songs sounded as if they came out from your childhood while the producers are only in their 20s. they are so young talents yet they can make people feel nostalgic. a fun fact, stray kids are known to be late to trends and i thought of that when you kept saying that there are sounds from early years. also, do you plan to look into their lyrics in the future? because they are also genius songwriters as much as being genius producers. if you won't we could explain what each song is about in the comments for each album. for example in 3RACHA, the one you liked a lot, it was the producing unit of Stray Kids talking about their incredible production, writing and composion skills.
You are totally SPOILING US ROTTEN with all these reaction videos so frequently! I’m obsessed and I love it😁 Please do IN-Life next!! They have some experimental stuff (Tortoise&Hare) and some real quintessential SKZ sounding “classics” (Gods Menu, back door, Easy, and TA) I think it will help give you context before listening to their newer albums to appreciate their growth/maturity in sound. Just embrace the auto-tune on some tracks though 😉 they just use it for style and not due to lack of singing ability. The beautiful high falsetto that you heard during Taste was Lee Know. His voice is like honey, but he can also sound so strong, loud and gritty (you’ll hear it more in 5-Star and Rock Star albums). His singing was vastly underrated at first and his parts limited, but now he’s really starting to shine in his own right and get more singing/solo parts. He can really suit any style. Once you finish all the group albums, it’d be cool to get your reactions to their solo songs they release directly on their RUclips channel. You can really start to see their individual personalities come through and how each member brings something unique and different to their combined sound. This was another wonderful deep dive with lots of insight into the nuances of their sound. More interesting comparisons to other songs/artists that I wouldn’t have even thought of. Keep them coming! Looking forward to your reactions to 5-star, Rock Star and In-Life!!
One of the things I really love that you can hear really well in the intro of Give Me Your TMI is Changbin’s raps when he uses repeated consonants almost like its own percussion
Maxident is such a fun album with all the different genres and sounds. Once again, you point out sounds that I've never thought to listen closely to and I really appreciate that! I now can pick them out from the songs and enjoy the way the production came together! Applause for Bang Chan for creating such cool tracks. I think he might end up being your bias. You pronounced 3Racha correctly the first time! Kinda like Sriracha haha! Definitely one of my favorite songs by 3Racha. I get so hyped when Bang Chan comes in with his english verse. Total masterpiece Being hard of hearing and having to wear hearing aids, bass is easier for me to pick out so I absolutely love Stray Kids' music because of the amount of cool bass lines
Hi! Thanks for the comment... For those hard of hearing, there is comment and discussion about headphones and speakers -- it's the comment from @heatherknox400 and it is pinned to the top of the ODDINARY video page.
So glad you enjoyed Maxident as well! I was really curious and excited to hear your thoughts on 3Racha - can't express how happy I am right now. Your reactions and insight are much appreciated, thank you for sharing. "I need more RAM upstairs" 😆 I'll be using that in daily conversations, for sure! (the "nyaunnn" from Super Board lives rent-free in my brain & keeps popping up whenever it pleases 😆)
Yes! My favorite tracks are probably Give Me Your TMI, Super Board, Case 143! Oop, and also Taste, 3Racha and Can’t Stop.. Wow i can’t choose favorites… So basically all of the songs lol 🤣 I love all of their songs to be honest though. Hoping for Rockstar and 5-star next! I actually saw them live in London 2 months ago ! They played Super Board right before they came on stage so people could sing along, 65k people were there, singing their lungs out. It was amazing!
Taste is like red light 2 haha😅if you watch the performance video of the 3 members called danceracha you will be mesmerized, besides thanks for reacting, also I highly recommend their Japanese albums like the sound,a single called social path, dlmlu, and more❤
"Straight out of the 1980s" I'm glad someone else feels this way. I tried to tell others that for me Stray Kids feel both new and nostalgic at the same time. Yes. Love your reactions because you help me appreciate them even more. ❤
This is seriously so great. I really really love that you pick out these random noises and sounds. And baselines! Nobody else does that! It makes it so much fun and I really love settling in for a long video and listening super, super close along with you. It's reigniting that first listen feeling in so many of us. Thank you for giving Stray Kids a chance! Maxident is beloved by Stay, but often overlooked. It's packed on both sides by Oddinary and 5-Star who more often get all of the attention. It's my boyfriend's favorite album and I'm really glad you like it too! I promise, 3Racha and Taste completely destroyed Stayville at the time, so much so that they almost outshined the album itself. If you did like Superboard as much as I think you did, I'd really recommend the video too. It's just about a flying skateboard it's so fun 😂 Also, Give Me Your TMI is SO underrated and NO ONE ever talks about it so THANK YOU for singing its praises.
Let's goooooo!! I love your reactions so much. I love how honest and open you are! It's also like listening to the album again for the first time when you notice things that I never did. It's honestly a joy.
I love how you break down each and every detail of their songs. I've seen so many reactions, but mainly on the transitions of their M/Vs, the vocals. And, of course the Felix effect. But you break down their hard work that goes into their music. It is so amazing how they come up with different sounds, switch ups, and make it into masterpieces. I've watched every one of your album reactions since I discovered you.
Felix is the kid with a really deep voice. And everyone is amazed at how sweet he looks but how deep his voice is. It's hilarious watching people react to his deep voice vs his face in m/vs
I'm so used to seeing the Felix effect that I was shocked - almost offended lmao - he not even once said a word about his voice during the ate album reaction 😂
The whiplash from Red Lights to Surfin’ recreated with Taste to Can’t Stop. 🤣 These guys really can - and prefer to - do it all! Really really enjoying your reactions and all the little details you catch- how many times have I listened to Circus and DIDNT HEAR THE ELEPHANT until now? 🤦🏻♀️ 😂 🙌
I am loving your reactions to just the music. It's like hearing them again for the first time. When you've made it through the music, whether you film it or not, promise you'll watch the videos or performances. Stay Kids aren't just an auditory experience, but a visual experience as well. Actually seeing them do their work makes you appreciate them even more. Anytime I listen to Stray Kids, I can 100% see them performing in my head. The talent and dedication of this group is mind-blowing, and the rabbit hole is deep... enjoy the trip!
I think he's said he's not opposed to it just that he does only audio first. So I think we'll eventually get to it, but I get the anticipation and wanting him to do it! I feel the same way about the lyrics too bc there's so much in just those alone as well!
I have listened to a lot of reactions and I have to say that I enjoy your Stray Kids the most. I appreciate the way you dissect all the different sounds, which is part of their charm for sure! The amount of talent encapsulated in these 8 guys is just almost overwhelming and for still being relatively young. In 7 years they shook the world and announced their presence. To write, arrange and produce themselves is also something that not many groups can do. I think the really impressive thing is that they have stayed so grounded and humble while doing all this. I myself have a music background and was also a hard rocker mostly and now at 62, I was awakened to a whole new genre in itself called "Stray Kids" 😁
I was just listening to TASTE yesterday morning, and I literally thought to myself - "I bet Tony will appreciate this song," and here you are doing a reaction to Maxident! I'm glad you liked the album. It is about LOVE, but it's not fluffy or light 😂 I'm a Gen X'er and I just love their sound. Bangers, experimental, and old school sounds all wrapped together. Idk why they just appeal to me so much, and other kpop groups just don't. Thanks for the amazing and detailed reaction to the music!
Always love a good reaction to the music! It is what drew me in over four years ago! I find it really fun how similar our taste is on these albums- I was a metalhead when younger. I often think Stray Kids songs are relentless, and that's what I love about them! Full on, a lot of intricate details and palpable emotions really drives their momentum. And the sheer creativity with their sounds! Excited to keep watching (well, listening, been treating them like a podcast tbh!) these videos to see how our preferences line up!
The MAXIDENT album is available in Dolby Atmos / Spatial Audio in Apple Music and I assume in Spotify too. I highly recommend listening to the real album in Dolby for the best quality because a lot of the details are lost when uploaded to RUclips.
Thanks for the tip!
If you like straykids, I think you will like Ateez too. Ateez is also a kpop group, and I would recommend listening to their song guerrilla or their whole album/episode "THE WORLD. EP1 :MOVEMENT". It is also like metal music, so I think you will like it too.

What can’t these guys do ?
A: SLEEP 😂😂
Seriously.
@tonystocco Seriously. Predebut Chan would stay up til 5 in the morning working on music, sleep and go back to the company at 10 am. My man never sleeps. He literally fell asleep AT the computer one time, hand on the mouse.
And they wrote a song about it 🤣- Insomnia (I Can't Sleep...)
oh that made me sad gasp a little. i wish they could get regular sleep schedules

Thank you for this comment. I just like music... er 'audio' more specifically. The audio is essential for me and everything else is nice to have.
Can't wait for your reaction when you get to the MVs! That will be great! 👏😎

Thank you so much! 🙌🏻
Chan actually watch reactors too, so that would be amazing 😂
they'll soon find it. tony's channel/videos had been reco'd by the bigger stay accounts already to other stays so the members will eventually see it.

Thank you.

You should try a Japanese album, like The Sound. I love that title track to bits. I'd do it with the MV cuz it's so good, it really captures the grandiosity of the song. And of SKZ in general.
After that, In Life. You're gonna love Back door, has so many sounds and the bassss.. omg, the live bass is deliciously funky and groovy.

LEE KNOW'S VOICE IS A KILLER INDEED AAAAA
Track 5, 6 and 7 weren't all 8 members singing.
3RACHA was being sang by 3Racha - the producing unit of Stray Kids (which consists of, in order of when they sang, Changbin, Han the 2 main insane rappers and last was Bang Chan the leader.
Taste was being sang by DanceRacha - the performing/dancing unit of SKZ which focuses more on performing and choreography side of things (Felix the deep voice, Lee Know the one that kept hitting the high notes and Hyunjin), the stage video of this song is very cool
Can't Stop was being sang by VocalRacha - the 2 youngest members who are more focused in amazing vocals, they usually do ballads in their unit songs, or rarely like this one a lil more popish lighthearted songs.
Only correction is Felix sang one of the choruses. I can't remember which one but he used his falsetto.
@@Nari-ev5xf His was the very last falsetto on Taste 😊

I so so hope Chan finds this channel! I think he would love to hear you notice the nuances and layers he puts in their music.
Dude, I would love to see you two sit down and talk about all the stuff you notice and hear Chan talk about the part of his music that I think gets the least attention. That "pots and pans" sound that we love so much is the layers of sound that Chan incorporates, and I don’t think enough people talk about it.
Thank you so much for going through these. I have gained a new appreciation for what they do. I never even noticed a lot of the sounds until you pointed them out. I can’t wait to see what you do next!
Thanks for this comment Yumega ☺️
While they're complaining, we're producing." They know they are in a league of their own.
it's insane how much better i can hear the details of their songs in a reaction video than in most of streaming platforms? like, HOW? i'm keeping up with all your uploads now and it's so nice to relisten to all off their records paying attention to all these missing noises and background sounds (i admit, i do not have the best earbuds here lol)
and please ! we need you to react to The Tortoise And The Hare (a bside on the repackage album "IN LIFE") and Side Effects (title song on the album "Clé 2: Yellow Wood" - you're gonna go nuts. their previous works were even most experimental, in a time that they were still rookies in the industry, even before their '"boom"" in south korea... they faced a lot of blacklash for this in the kpop bubble at the time, but us - pots and pans enjoyers - kept the faith in them... and see were they are now !!!! anyways. thanks for another amazing reaction!
Thanks Alanis!
The Tortoise and The Hare is my favourite from that album, it is just so different, but the rythm appeals to me in such a special way. I can't wait for Tony's analysis.

Honestly same here...I enjoy this album but it has never been my favorite but I have new aspects to appreciate now!!!

It wasn’t a real love song like “Neverending Story.” It was fun, cheeky and kinda dark. 😅 I loved it!

Stray Kids *can* be summed up into a single genre. It's "internal soundtrack of an ADHD brain." It's also why those of us *with* ADHD brains can listen to so much of it.
Now it makes sense why I love them so much!!
I don't have ADHD, but I am autistic, so some of the general struggles with sound sensitivity are familiar to me. I genuinely just laugh whenever someone mockingly calls Stray Kids' music "noisy" because this very level of noisiness sounds absolutely perfect to me! :D
The most recent example is "MOUNTAINS", because it can get quite overwhelming near the end - but I still feel _comfortable_ listening to it, and it doesn't send me spiralling into annoying panic attacks with sensory overload. Which is brilliant, really, and one of the many reasons I love their music so much.
I'm Audhd and can actually comfortably fall asleep to SKZ music and it is my comfort music even when overstimulated and overwhelmed by sounds around me 😂😂
Yes! They hit right with my brain.
Totally! Tickles my brain in the best way possible. LOVE that you never know what to expect

Also, to further blow our minds, Stray Kids don't just put out an incredible amount of astonishing music, but they are (and need to be, by job description) full-fledged entertainment professionals. Meaning they also constantly put out hours and hours of their own shows, guest appearances, variety tv, live broadcasts, vlogs, social media content, modelling gigs etc etc. And manage to cater to a huge array of audiences. it’s a lighter album in therms of not every song giving you a smack on the face as hard as the older ones do, doesn’t mean its a bubbly pop summery album either :)
stray kids is a genre itself atp, so when we say it’s a lighter song, it means that it’s a lighter song on the stray kids pattern, not necessarily the general idea of a light song
The guy that does the english part in 3Racha, he is the one making the music. Christopher Bang Chan, hebis the leader and an Aussie.
Lee Know in 'Taste', is my favorite Lee know vocal! 🔥 Just heavenly! I get it Tony!
Case 143 - one of the few "love songs" of SKZ. The song's about being afraid of falling in love, and as cute as it is, the MV shows this fear in elements of The Shining sprinkled throughout the video.

Heyday is fireee🔥 they do have producing credits on that but iirc Czaer's the main producer for that track(with a few other names on there too)
"Gunshot" .. well its actually a chicken slap but .. 😂😂
WTF is a chicken slap????
Auditory = the sound of a gunshot
Visual = in the choreo, Changbin steps away from the group and points a finger gun at them "shooting" them at the sound and they all fall away as if shot
and Lyrical = the gunshot sound comes at the part where they say "No Cap" which colloquially today has a slang meaning of "no lie" or "I'm not lying" essentially, which is what they meant for the song lyrically.
I really believe he's a genius on some level tbh😅
Duuuuuuuude! I never would have thought about Careless Whisper, but now I can't unhear it! Love it!
It's so good!
Their different approaches make the EPs so eclectic and interesting to get through
Nailed it! You captured their styles exactly😂
What I like about 3racha is that they're always trying new things, learning to improve their craft and sharpening each other's skills❤
Your videos have managed to turn my slipknot, linkin park, tool dad into a stay. We listen to them like podcasts now - please keep doing these videos!
Whaaaaat???? Seriously?
@@tonystocco i sent him your ate reaction and he texted me an hour later saying he watched the whole thing!
Let's find out how big of a Tool fan he is -- ask if he can listen to the song 10,000 days/Wings without tearing up. (spoiler alert: it's impossible)
@@tonystocco he says he’s well aware of the meaning and of Judith by a perfect circle
Wooo, I just finished watching you Stray Kids journey, and there's a new video! Amazing timing
Hope you enjoyed it!
Yeah! honestly maxident MVs are so fun to watch, case 143 and superboard are great
Im Gen X and Straykids made me like music again. It’s like mixing 90s 00s and now, boom 💥 blows everything else away
To this day nothing has beat TASTE's live performance for me, I love that shit
the floor choreography ajdhrosjtvsiggsitbsrkei
3Racha song is considered to be a UK Drill song 💪🏻 So badass. They said they want to do more UK Drill in the future! 🤞🏻
omg i'm right on time for this one yay !!
in case nobody explained this yet skz' songs are usually produced by 3racha which is a sub-unit from skz composed by BangChan (the leader), Changbin and Han! Other members contribute to the lyrics and stuff but the production is mainly 3RACHA
skz is composed by 3 units: 3RACHA which are the producers/rappers, DANCERACHA (LeeKnow/Felix/Hyunjin)
that are the dancers and VOCALRACHA (Jeongin/Seungmin) that are the vocalists
in general skz is a very diverse group so everyone does a bit of everything but i thought it would be interesting to explain about it!!!!
the units have solo songs and the members too, they have a whole album (SKZ-Record) dedicated to that!
btw i'm a han biased so i have to say that you should totally listen to quote unquote hanpop (which is any song produced and written by Han Jisung)
I personally say you should listen to "maybe" cause it's my favorite but it's only on youtube yet
but anyway thank you so much for your reactions, i already watched all of them and subscribed!! i'm glad you're enjoying the kids' music 😽😽😽
(and sorry abt my broken english ehehe)
btw other fun fact is that Bangchan's english name is actually Christopher and him and Felix are actually Australian! that's why they have some songs in english and stuff
When you said 3RACHA was a masterpiece, I smashed that subscribe button so fast!
ooooh perfect timing!! Can’t wait :) thank you so much for all your reviews. I love hearing your thoughts :)
Thank you! There's no good time to pause a Stray Kids song.
From what I know, Super Board is inspired from an old Korean cartoon (from the 90s I think?) which explains a lot about the track
I just watched a reactor post his reaction to it just in this last week so I think he'd be fine!
yes, you can react to it but w some filter
Beware of listening to Case 143 in the car! You will 100% look for cops when the sirens hit😂
Miroh gets me every time too! Then I have to cuss at Stray Kids (probably Chris specifically) for giving me a damn heart attack! 🤣
yeah that got my mum once LOL
Every freaking time 😂
Same with Thunderous! I’m like who’s beeping their horn at me! 😅
@@MakeGoodTrouble maze of memories gives me a heart attack
39:46 lee know being recognized by hia voice is my happiness knowing he is basically in the dance unit 🤍 he worked hard on his vocals
Tracks 5 through 7 are unit songs:
5. 3racha- done by 3racha (3 members)
6. Taste- done by Danceracha (3 members)
7. Can't Stop- done by Vocalracha (2 members)
8. Circus- yes, the entire video for this is in the big top of a circus, and the elephant makes an appearance along with fireworks. SKZ even does some of the stunts in the background, as there are 2 sets of Stray Kids.
5 STARS album nextttt or IN LIFE album is good too
Thanks again Tony.
🙌🏻 thank you 🙌🏻
@@tonystocco so i'm rewatching these, cuz i love these videos, and the laugh in circus - I believe that is actually Han.
I’m obsessed and I love it😁
Please do IN-Life next!!
Looking forward to your reactions to 5-star, Rock Star and In-Life!!
cant wait for your reaction to 5star, knowing damn well your mind will be blown , patiently waiting 🤓
I can’t wait for his 5 Star reaction!
5 star is called 5 star for a reason hahaha same i'm excited for him to check that album🤭
One of the things I really love that you can hear really well in the intro of Give Me Your TMI is Changbin’s raps when he uses repeated consonants almost like its own percussion
Can’t wait for you to react to their album “rock star”
Maxident is such a fun album with all the different genres and sounds. Once again, you point out sounds that I've never thought to listen closely to and I really appreciate that! I now can pick them out from the songs and enjoy the way the production came together! Applause for Bang Chan for creating such cool tracks. I think he might end up being your bias.
You pronounced 3Racha correctly the first time! Kinda like Sriracha haha! Definitely one of my favorite songs by 3Racha. I get so hyped when Bang Chan comes in with his english verse. Total masterpiece
Being hard of hearing and having to wear hearing aids, bass is easier for me to pick out so I absolutely love Stray Kids' music because of the amount of cool bass lines
(the "nyaunnn" from Super Board lives rent-free in my brain & keeps popping up whenever it pleases 😆)
the laughter in Circus and Maniac is Bangchan 😂🎉
Ah! Yaaas! Your reviews are my new drug. 😂 Thank you for feeding Stays with content. 🎉 Glad you enjoyed Maxident! 🙌 it’s such a good album. 🤩
It's just about a flying skateboard it's so fun 😂
Also, Give Me Your TMI is SO underrated and NO ONE ever talks about it so THANK YOU for singing its praises.
What's a Felix effect?
Felix is the kid with a really deep voice. And everyone is amazed at how sweet he looks but how deep his voice is. It's hilarious watching people react to his deep voice vs his face in m/vs
Got it. Thank you!
I'm so used to seeing the Felix effect that I was shocked - almost offended lmao - he not even once said a word about his voice during the ate album reaction 😂
@@HJasmin He is reacting to the music part. But I see the faces he makes during some high and low vocals. Lol...
😂🐘
It is about LOVE, but it's not fluffy or light 😂
I'm a Gen X'er and I just love their sound. Bangers, experimental, and old school sounds all wrapped together. Idk why they just appeal to me so much, and other kpop groups just don't.
Thanks for the amazing and detailed reaction to the music!
Thanks for watching and commenting!
Omg maxident💖😻💕what a surprise
"HEYDAY".... will blow ur mind.. similiar to 3Racha..
Thank you!
