Bobcat MT100: Hydrostatic Belt Replacement

- The belt on my machine broke upon startup on a cold morning at about 18 degrees Fahrenheit. I don't know if it was caused by this but the safety interlock was engaged due to drive lever position, but I jiggled it and the machine was able to start right away after that. Immediately there was a relay clicking noise that repeated multiple times. I don't know if that noise was a relay or just the belt breaking but I lost the ability to drive forward and backward and had to push the machine into the shop with the plow truck.
The repair took 2-3 hours of actual work but I could do it faster if it happened again.
The part costed $60 at the Bobcat dealer and they did have it in stock. The Bobcat part number for the belt is 6684749.

Thanks for helping me fix my bobcat I now don’t have to carry sticks at work
Thanks for the quick, yet thorough video of your process!
I made it to the point of removing the pump’s hex bolt before watching your vid and had every thought and comment y’all had along the way.
I even put the heat shield on backwards! Haha
Thanks again, all the best!
I second the dirty interior, im sure you know but there is a panel on the bottom you can remove and wash it out.. if you get too much dirt under the oil pan it can wear a hole through. Just a suggestion, and great job doing the belt yourself, that looked like a PITA!
Thank you, I will be sure to power wash the machine this year. I hate that residual dirt too. Really I need to get some quality time with the power washer for about 10 hours because a lot of my equipment is getting buildup like this.
Good video. Pretty dirty in that engine bay. Maybe degreaser and power washer time
Another great video Eddy!
I'm glad you found value in it, thanks for watching!
Next time just remove the muffler and you can access the 2 pump bolts from the top.A hell of a lot faster than removing the reservoir and you dont have to worry about losing hydraulic fluid
That's awesome it never occurred to me. Is this a repair you've done before?
@@easyeddystrees We probably have done about 40 since 2016.Customers and our our rental machines
@@jrac863 I should have called you haha! That would have saved me at least an hour or two.
@@jrac863 What causes that breakage? I had the feeling it was cause by something internal to the pumps, that electrical feature that won't let you move the hydraulics until the system builds pressure? Or possibly wear and tear on the tensioner?
