I really can't wait until you really dive into even further into Ren's catalogue, it's mind blowing man. 🤯
Everything about this is, indeed, beyond top tier. If we had been passing by, it would have knocked us over.....how in the world is this amazing performance happening right in front of our eyes! And imagine how much better it sounded in person. Or would have sounded with better equipment. However, this shows that it's not dependent on great funds but great skill and dedication to develop talents. Appreciate your reactions. Safe and uneventful travels.

Here's a little update on Sam's career since his early busking day's. Sam was signed to Republic Records UMG a couple of years ago & has since opened for Justin Bieber on tour. He's also had his own mini European/North American tour promoting his new album, which was just released a couple of months ago. Here's one of my favorite songs off of that new album: "Sam Tompkins - Lose It All (Live)" 🔥I know how you love live recordings, so in this video on YT is just Sam singing with a Grand Piano being played. Sam is 7 years younger than Ren. Met when Sam was 16 Ren 23 coming home from busking. Ren lianed Sam his amp and played for him. Then they couldn't oerform again till aftet Ren's stem cell transplant. So here i think it was 28 and 21. Such big fans of each other
Loved your reaction. The thing I notice with this all the time is that Sam is. AMAZING! However…. As soon as REN sings that first line…. (I swear panties are dropping)… there’s talent… but then there’s talent…. And STAR POWER/CHARISMA…. Which REN has in abundance…. Which is why every time he opens his mouth the girls are screaming….
I think Sam is the more technically adept singer, but Ren is the more commanding performer. Together they balance each other perfectly and are wonderful.
Sam is also the more traditionally trained vocalist. He's got raw talent, but he has more formal training compared to Ren. They are truly perfect together though and I am so happy to see where Sam and Ren have gone with their careers. I can't wait for another official collab between them, because you know its gonna happen. I would agrree with Rob Marar's recommendation of watching Sam's Lose It All Live version. It is absolutely stunning and the utterly simple nature of the live environment works just as well with Sam as it does with Ren.

There’s actually video of the busking they did together the day they met, because Sam’s friends used to come hang out and watch, and video in his early days. It’s on Sam’s channel and a snippet of it is part of a video released last year that tracks his development from a little kid singing until he got signed. , I bet many of the photos and video snippets in that came from those friends.
Ren said he heard the voice of an angel and came around the corner and I think Sam was like 12 years old and rent told him he needed a speaker. He had an extra amplifier and he gave it to him and he said his voice lit up the other side of the street and people stopped and run and played guitar in the background and it was instant aha moment!

The boy locked is taller and older than the other. It could be partly an age difference as well, but yes, listening to Ren and Sam will have been a huge influence on a curious mind. I love that they just get in as close as they can for the experience, and all the "socially aware" adults stand way back. When you mentioned breath control, I thought to myself, just wait a few seconds and you will really see breath control !! There is someone who reacts to Ren who was in the audience that day for a brief time. I can't remember which song he heard. Safe travels.
Bonne année de France! Ren sometimes gets into some crazy stuff (Romain too), and I once heard him when the Big Push played the Doors! He discovered Sam singing in the street and offered him an amp to play with. They soon had success, especially when Ren wrote Blind Eye. Sam is now well known and plays at festivals. I was a bit shocked during an interview when Sam boasted that he started out on the streets, without mentioning Ren...

Hey Aaron! Got a recommendation to toss your way: The Big Push's Swan Song and Romain Axisa's Time After Time Live from St. Augustine's Chapel should be some of your next views. Swan Song is one of the first ever tracks that TBP put together officially as a group and Time After Time is an original piece by Romain in response to the suffering and inhumane treatment of Palestinians and Israelis during the current Gaza War. Swan Song you get to see Ren play a Melodica and its amazing with the acoustics of the church. Romain literally sings with a guitar solo and simultaneously creates heavenly music with his vocals during the main part of the track. I will warn you: it is dark and deep and one to keep a box of kleenex nearby. It is also perfection. IMO, this might be Romain's best original track ever.
Only thing about this performance is the ending where Ren goes off with some guitar riffs that seem to be out of control, showing his fun I guess with a guitar and the foot pedal thing, and it became ear piercing, man it hurts my ears, so I always mute the ending and let it play out for views. But saying it was all bad, I am not. Sam is always great, damn again with the high voice, I hate that my ears have trouble with high pitched sounds. LOL

Sams a good singer but Rens charisma & star quality are off the scale. He can make any song his own.
