Cat, you are simply the best IMO. Thank you for sharing and for always striving to provide resources for excellence... especially in my case, a ‘newbie’ to this, however, I believe I’m coming along swiftly. It’s primarily your attitude that is so engaging and comforting when providing information. Again, a BIG thank you.
Thank you, Cat. Great presentation. I love your style. Very natural and open, with plenty of enthusiasm to go with your great voice and infectious smile. It beats me why someone would give you a thumbs down for this. As a newbie to OBS, I have encountered many frustrations, but your videos always bring clarity. I will definitely use this technique with my presentations.🤙🏼😊
Thank you so much. Very helpful tutorial. If anyone is doing this in Canva, just place your picture in a 1920x1080 design. Choose a full shape, not an outline. Then follow what she does in the video. Super easy. Now I'm making a bunch of different masks.
Thanks for a great video! You did great keeping your cool while having all these internet problems - it was not even noticable. From what I know, the internet uses what we call non-deterministic protocols. Therefore, no matter how fast your computer/modem/internet speed is, there is always the possibility of a delay, which causes buffering. The internet and devices have become so fast that the protocols have become almost irrelevant, but we do get the occasional delay. It's like buying a faster car in the hopes of getting to places faster; This works most of the time when the highway is less congested. But, if you do end up in rush hour traffic, it is possible that you might get delayed.
Thanks Cat, I became very frustrated with OBS that's why i moved to Ecamm. This helped me see some functionality within OBS that i can use with my colleagues who are on PC's.
Hey Cat!!! This is another awesome video. I copied some of your tricks and the name tag and OBSed with Zoom. It stunned the participants with live scenes. Thanks for the tips. 😍😍😍😍
Thanks for the guide, it worked like a charm :) Just one tip from the viewer which I found it surprisingly useful. Just press alt (windows) and cut the camera scene from sides so you can shrink the size of the scene and better control your video.
Cat, I really like your tutorials. Do you know how to incorporate Powerpoint Slides and a way to scroll through them in OBS. The only way I found was to save all the PP slides as images and then use them as an image show, which is not the same as being able to use the scroll buttons in PP which I would prefer.
Thank you so much for your videos and I only wish I discovered your videos sooner but I’m so glad that the wealth of information on here is really filling in everything I was trying to learn on my own. I am using OBS for learning experiences not gaming or church service so this is so much more related to what I’m doing. I got a course on Udemy that’s pretty good but this is giving me so much more applicable detail and exposure to other methods of adding or integrating other software. I also so appreciate you like myself are used to keeping a smile on and moving on when things are going ‘horribly’ wrong while you’re delivering live! That is so quintessential to any live performer👏😆 you are fantastic and thank you so much for these helpful videos!
Thanks for the great tutorials! If I have a scene with a masked webcam, can I also have a scene with a full screen webcam (no mask)? It seems like the mask is applied to the webcam and not the scene.
Yes, I am super grateful to the developers of OBS for creating high end software for free, but wonder if their is a reason why they don't seem to give OBS the ability to do circular shapes...even when cropping. Great tutorial!
This was a great tutorial. My question is when you apply the image mask filter to the camera source, it seems that no matter what scene you add that source to the mask would be applied. So in order to switch between the video with the image mask and the full screen video you need two cameras? Is that correct? Thanks.
Super helpful, thank you! Question…is there a way to quickly “hide” filters? As in, if I want to go back to my full camera, do I have to delete the mask filter entirely? When I make a new scene, my camera still has the circle mask.
Hey Cat, great video. I have a simple question, how did you get your video to come out of the from from OBS? When I drag my camera source outside of the frame in OBS, you can no longer see it. When I got to windows projector, I see the form from windows. What did you do to get yours to pop out? I am not sure I am that clear but I think its a good start. Basically, I want to minimize OBS, record my screen, and see myself in the video without the ugly border lol. Thanks
PLEASE GIMMIE THE 4-1-1 When I minimize OBS, The facecam Scene/source Inside on OBS hides ME? (Guess I'm Doing Something Wrong?) So How can I keep a Separate facecam OUTSIDE Of OBS on Bottom Right or Left To Stay On The Desktop (As I'm Recording, Screen Capturing, web browsing, Etc) *(Just Like How You Look In This Video!! lol)* That's what I Want To Learn to do, so I can work on the background but still see me on the webcam with or without the Green screen effect If I Want? (Awesome!) Show me Please. How did you do this?! Do I Need one Camera or Two cameras are needed? Internal & External Cams? Please Do a Video to Demonstrate how to set this up your SCENES & SOURCES to achieve this? Please HELP, I Have A Logitech webcam & my Default Laptop Camera, I'm New to OBS So Please Don't Roast Me, I'm Trying.😎
Hi Cat, thank you again for sharing this topic. Very helpful - and it works ... For one of your next tutorials: how you get the chat comments on your (OBS-)screen? And can you tell us about using music into the streaming (where to get and license)? Greetings from Germany.
Hi Stefan, I use Ecamm Live to stream to RUclips, which is how I post live comments. It doesn't look like there is an OBS plug-in for posting comments in OBS, though I saw some people have work-arounds that are a bit more complicated. I can share about music, though! I'll add it to my content list. For now, I can share that I'm actually using copyright-free music from RUclips's audio library.
Hi Cat, I stumbled upon your channel and I am so glad I did. Awesome stuff. I have a question that I’m sure others may have, do you find any resistance to having zoom participants switch from gallery to speaker view? I understand the impact of presenting with virtual cameras, however I feel customers I am presenting to can be a bit hesitant being pushed to a different process. Thanks.
I have not found that to be a problem myself, although most of my presentations use share screen (I share my 'production' through Zoom's screen share), which puts the focus on the presentation anyway.
Hi Cat. Thanks, however like another of the individuals below (Joshi) - I cannot add the web-cam a second time. Hence the filter is always in place.... or I have to remove it everywhere. Ideas?
Hey Cat - I worked it out after a bit of googling. Step 1 - I needed to apply the circle filter to the scene itself. Not the camera. I called this scene "Setup_Circle PIP" as you dont actually use it. This creates the mask full size, but as you've applied it to the scene you cant re-size or move it - yet. Step 2 - Then create another scene .... BUT for the source of this one - select the Scene : Setup_Circle PIP... not the camera. I called this scene "Circle PIP" and this is the one that I will then use. This scene can have the image resized and dragged to the left as you showed. Now I can readily transition between the Main Camera scene and the Circle PIP scene. I had to do this as it was not possible for me otherwise to add the filter to my webcam without it affecting all pre-existing scenes.
Glad you found this. Another viewer let me know about this. I do believe it's different between Mac and Windows since I was able to add a second camera source with the same camera (one with the filter, one without). But this approach is probably best practice regardless of which OS you are using.
Hi Cat, I love the circle overlay. Great tutorial. Tried this. I have just one cam. I have 3 scenes with myself in them. The image mask once applied to the camera is affecting all of the scenes. I am in the circle everywhere. Tried duplicating cam but the result is the same. Maybe I am doing it wrong. or I just need a second cam.
Great question! Try adding a new camera source. For example, if my circle pip is Sony, I can add Sony 2 as a new source. It will show up without the image mask. At least, it did when I tested it!
Great question Joshi, I am experiencing the same issue and although I followed your advice Cat, it doesn't work for me and I am not sure if I am doing something wrong but it spoils the fun.
@@CatMulvihill I'll put a comment at the top. However - like Joshi I am unable to re-add the same camera a second time. I have the circle PIP everywhere... or not at all.
