    Curiously, the United Kingdom has had its greatest splendor, led by three female monarchs: Elizabeth I, Victoria I and Elizabeth II.

      Elizabeth II. as nice as she is, lived to see the Empire dissolve under her reign, UK to growing politically and culturally unstable, and the monarchy at it's possible end. Though, none of these things are her fault. That said. England saw it's splendour under Henry II. Edward III and the Hanover's as well.

    • @chantintin10

      It’s so sad that they speculated that about her. It ruined her in a way that she was blamed but Victoria, I feel had guilt for what she blamed to a person who was innocent. In fact, Lady Flora Hastings’ family is the rightful heir to the throne and her relative who lives in Australia should be in Queen Elizabeth’s place now.

      @@chantintin10 I've heard about that, and it's very convincing, but it stems from a belief that Edward IV and his children were illegitimate, which they weren't imo. If Edward's kids were legitimate, then the people on the throne are the rightful heirs.

      I believe it was to juxtapose how a woman could be crowned Queen (the ultimate power) and at the same time have no power over their own bodies, subjected to such a degrading check of her body. To show that while their was that authority, women of that time still had little to no power...it’s to jarr you and remind you that the female monarchs are astonishing alongside such a lack of progress for women’s rights. That we still question a woman to know her own mind and have dominion over what happens to her own body while Queen Elizabeth II has been on the throne now for 65 years. Does anyone think that she does not know her own mind?

      I personally thought it was appropriate. Based off my opinion, it contrasted the glory and the power of Victoria and how damaging the power can be to someone who is lower on the caste scale. Victoria, being a teenager, was immature, utilized this rumor to her power, felt powerful and ultimately backfired on her unknowingly in her moment of glory at her coronation.

    • @leahryan5560
      @leahryan5560 5 лет назад +1

      Kaiser Wilhelm II: No. That’s Lady Flora Hastings. She was one of Victoria’s mother’s ladies-in-waiting. In 1839, she had an abdominal growth that was thought to be a pregnancy by Sir John Conroy, whom Victoria hated and she believed the rumors. At first, Hastings refused to do an examination, but she agreed and was found to be a virgin. Conroy, Hastings’s family, and the opposing Tory party launched a press campaign which accused Victoria of spreading false rumors. When Hastings died that July, an autopsy revealed the abdominal growth was caused by a tumor on her liver.

    The opening with the castle I can tell is fake CGI even 12 inches across on youtube. This is why I won't even go to a sci-fi movie for the past 20 years. They need to go back to models until they get it right. The original Star wars only looked fake in like 2 or 3 scenes. They pulled that fake looking Jabba scene out in the original version.

    • @budomk9299
      @budomk9299 Год назад +2

      they didn't but it's an interesting thing to think about. The entire theory rests on the supposition that Edward IV wasn't legitimate. But he was, and any laws that said his children weren't were removed so his kids were as well. His eldest daughter married Henry VII and became Queen so their line was legitimate.
      The people I'd say should've not taken over were the Hanoverians, but because the Stuarts had more senior branches still alive. But there was a law passed that handed it to the youngest branch which was Hanover. If anyone had a better claim, it'd be those senior branches, but not the Hastings.

    Why are other people putting on crowns?

    • @boris978
      @boris978 5 лет назад +4

      A good question.
      You see, in England, as it is the object of our conversation, or rather my explanation, it is tradition that each major noble, that is from baron up to duke, arch-duke and grand-duke, receives a crown of his/her own. The number of pearls (or so I call the balls on the crowns), the shape, the decor, all of that resembles what noble title and rank you hold. As is the case with the monarchs, who get the most lavishly decorated and beautiful crowns, the nobles too only wear the crowns when necessary, that being some rather specific ceremonies. While monarchs may wear or hold, touch or be in the presence of the crowns when being portrayed on a painting, the nobles don't wear the crown, but may either be in presence, touch them, point at them, like some monarchs, or have no crown on the painting at all. Hopefully the answer was satisfactory.

      It wouldn’t matter. Henry VII won the crown by combat and married Elizabeth of York to get the closer royal connection (so no one could take the crown by combat from him). He still won and became king. Also, Houses of York and Lancaster are cadet branches of Plantagenet. So they’re all related to that crazy family.
