Tools needed:
- 3/8" Ratchet
- 3/8" five inch extension
- Long 4mm ball head hex bit (for OEM valve bolts)
- Long 5mm (GRINDED) ball head hex bit (for GFB valve bolts)
- Flathead screwdriver
- Gloves

- Magnetic tool for dropped bolts
- T45 (torx) bit for waste gate
- T15/T20 (torx) for OEM intake
When you have the top bolt lined up with the GFB and OEM diverter installed you will tighten it with an angel using the grinded hex key
bro next time try to show the footage of you installing it cuz your explanation is kinda confusing
I know you live in NYC because I can hear the train winding up sound at 2:18 hahahaha
Haha one of the many sounds of NYC
@@XionUnjust4:30 that top right bolt bro I've been trying to get it in for an hour it's insane. Thanks for the vid it's a sanity check
Can you make a video on how it sounds
can you hear the difference in sound as well or is it muffled?
Hey Danny. It's a little bit more muffled
@MsportJake does the DV+ make a fluttering sound, like would i be able to install it without my parents finding out, i live in queens if you can help me install it i would pay you
What does it help with?
This valve?
I was hoping this would be a bit easier.. what's the main purpose for this mod
Yea, it's tough when it comes to installing the valve with the longer bolts. very very tedious.... but the valve is supposed to maintain more air pressure system without venting the majority of it out with the stock blow off valve.
@@XionUnjust So it pulls harder after a shift? I've heard if you have bad turbo flutter you should replace the diverter valve with this.
Stock dv during higher boost will most likely leak and the psi will fluctuate. This mod will help hold the psi stable.
what if i stripped the screw connecting the diverter valve
My opinion is that the entire turbo has to be removed so you have access for tools that can remove stripped bolts.
Do you have a video with your review or impressions after installation?
Instablaster.
I broke the yellow o ring where can I buy it from
Bryant Burton ah damn... I don't know but I'll look around. The gfb instructions say to remove it but it's not necessary
go to bmw
change your title this installation has no coalition with an F32 Body...
Yes it does a f32 428i
Installation sounds almost as shitty as doing the thrust piece in the steering rack
The product proved to be garbage , don’t buy
I´ve tested in another engine and worked well. What is your source?
My car is the source bro, it worked for a while then it gets stuck, no matter you oiling it up, needs maintenance, and for the hassle of getting to the turbo , it’s not worth it. Shit product. Your vid was good though.
@@JOHN_WICK_101 Im starting to think that now too. I just installed it on my car and it feels about the same. Not worth the headache and not worth the money to be honest
@@raidacaipo 👍🏻
I've been trying to get that screw in for 3 hours now still can't get it in
I cannot remove the piston from the dv... it looked so easy 2:06
Yea it's stupid hard. Ended up breaking it before it ever came off.
@@HapsterHap Same lol but it worked
should have watched more videos...a long ball allen socket makes easy work of these, and if need be you can always take the ewg off to make it more accessible if you have large hands...keis made a video and countless random tubers as well and have it done in like 10 mins
Man I did this on my n20 z4 and that shit was a pain in the ass! To be honest, after installing it and driving it, it feels kinda the same and the theres really no turbo lag. When I step on the gas, it slowly and gradually builds up power. The stock diverter valve gave the car a little punch because of the turbo lag but to me it felt better. I donno but to be honest, this install was not a good upgrade for me for the amount of work you had to do and the cost of the aftermarket diverter valve.
I would agree. I ended up removing it and went back to stock. It's extremely difficult to install with the turbo on the car. Maybe Audi/vw have it easier
Would the diverter valve make your car flutter or would u just hear the boost ?
@@davidg1465 some people say it flutters. I have full bolt ons... afe air intake, 8 inch front mount intercooler, catless downpipe and jb4 tune on stage 2. It actually made my car more quiet.. didn't like that lol my old set up made all kinds of loud pshhhhh noises and I loved it. I'm guessing it's because the aftermarket dv holds in boost as oppose to releasing it.
@@davidg1465 yes it does flutter you just need an intake tho.
friend as you took out the most difficult screw
In order to get the torx 30 bolt at the top right closest to engine, I had to get a 4mm Allen head Allen wrench and uses the short end fed into that bolt head, then broke it free. Once broken I used a 4mm long ball head to take bolt fully out.
You sir are a legit fucking life saver i bought a set of the long ball hex joints and it legit almost stripped the top right one so I’ve been battling every solution known to man but I ended up braking it loose with a godamn Allen wrench.. fuck that bolt
@@KohvchRL yeah that thing is no fun and they made the bolt out of cheese instead of metal which didn’t help. Glad my solution worked well for you. Wrenchers helping wrenchers is always a good thing!
i know this is gonna sound crazy but i shaved down the top right bolt to fit it in yeah
What is the point of this mod if you aren't even going to show us how it sounds?
Is the installation similiar for f10 n20?
Dyv intake
Thank you
how did you the unscrew third screw to the right top? its impossible to reach ahhhh!!
Unscrewing it was easy with the 4mm key (not grinded), just work the tool around and you'll get it. Wait until you have to put the new bolt back in!!!!! It's life changing LOL
its almost impossible if you got the pwg.
@@damianjoseph8069 not true.. I had the pwg. Its the same as the ewg because they use 2 bolts which were T45 I believe. Its more of a pain in the ass to unscrew them though because they are underneath the pwg. After you take it off, just take a string and tie it out the way.
What is this supposed to do?
I bet 85% of y'all n20 guys can reach in the oil fill and move your time chain with your finger. I would never by a 2014 or younger n20. Timing chain lawsuits all over 1000s
N55 FTW
N52 FTW
What do you mean by "move"?
Through the oil fill cap you can see the chain and guide, three out of five that I had I could move the guard and the chain a tiny tiny bit with my finger back and forth that was what I was referring to and there are lawsuits on the n20 engine, awful timing chain issues all the way up to 2013 2014 , where they change from a orangish color to a dark coffee color that's how you know if you have a new one or not but they color of oil can make it look like a coffee light color when it's not
Mr. Good Human mine blew randomly at 90k. Had oil changed at dealer around 85k and they saw no issues.
Was cheaper to drop in a new engine
@@BMWI-gk9wh everyone would be able to do that with the car off as there is no tension on it, do some research before you start scare mongering
@@ChrisLane87 you have no idea what you're talking about n20 has active lawsuits on timing chain and was revised in 2013 2014 n20. And absolutely not you're not supposed to be able to wiggle it with the fucking engine off dumbass I have loose timing chains and they snap if you have an orange timing guard then you have the upgraded one if you have a coffee brown then you have the old one or vice versa, no scaremongering do some research still to this day they're getting sued for that shit oh, the chain itself should move the timing guide free float but not the chain itself I've only seen one out of five that was snug and had the main non funded recall changed ( hence the lawsuits. ). N20 is known for that issue. It's a good engine if you replace that with the updated part. I have 7 of these cars and I know trust me work on them all day everyday. Changed 2 valve covers /Pcv valves just yesterday.
How did you take out the top bolt I can’t get to it at all!
You have to modify the hex tool to fit in that area. It's one of THE hardest things I've ever done to a car....
How is the sound?
A little bit quieter than stock since it prevents some boost pressure from exiting the system
Is your car a 320?
Nope, it's a 328i non SULEV
@@XionUnjust
My 328i in australia has an extra small radiator pipe:

Which made it a bitch to install the top left bolt
you didnt install the long stiff spring provided
