    I saw you sold the car, but do you remember about when this setup would hit full boost? Thinking of a 6266 for my 2J. Thanks!

      It would probably depend on a few different factors for you, so it may not be exactly the same, but I would say mine was around 4k.

    Beautiful car man!I have a 92 sc and lookin to do gte swap like yours. What all did you need and what would be an estimate to how much it would cost

      To be honest, all the work was done when I bought it. These motors used to be right at $3k and now they are between $6k-$7k. Might be cheaper to boost the 2jzge. Don't want to deter you just want you to know what to expect depending on what your goals are. If you want power levels like 300-400bhp the W58 and auto trannys are fine. 300-550 ish you'll want an R154. Anything more than that and you'll need the V160/V161 which is $8k plus the rear differential for it. Sorry if you already know this stuff but I didn't haha. It can get real expensive depending on your goals.

      @@ssdarren22 well I just picked up a jk41a trans which is pretty much the same thing as a cd009. Im not sure what hp numbers I’m aiming for I’m just thinking the gte swap might be better in the long run my 2j is pushing 250k miles

      @@ethanmichaels8636 oh awesome! Well like say I didn't do this swap but I don't think a whole lot is needed other than the motor and a few other small things. Good luck on everything. You should post a vid when she's up and running after you're done!

      Honestly I'm not positive as I've sold the car and can't check but I'm pretty sure the rims are from an IS250 so they might be factory tires from that car.

    Not hating, honest question I want to ask anyone who does this:
    Why not build the GE that was in it?
    Modified factory head, forged internals, etc. Make it a built GTE with the motor already in the car, you should rebuild any used engine anyways.
    So I don't get why everyone swaps it in, thinking it's better.
    I am trying to understand that mentality
    But regardless it's a good build man. I had a 96 once, I was gonna go to about 400whp with the stock GE which is easy enough, but I didn't end up keeping it honestly

      @ssdarren22  Год назад +2

      Honestly I bought the car with the swap in it cuz i got a good deal on it. If I was to do it all myself I would have probably go the GE route. I ended up selling the car or one main reason. The tranny was weak and no LSD. Would have been out of my price range for those upgrades. It was a cool car but liked my boosted 350z better. Sucks I don't have any vids of that.

      @@ssdarren22 tis fair, I understand that. For me, sold mine because because as it was, at the time, I was a poor 21 year old and the car had numerous issues, sucked gas so I got 7mpg on premium driving like a grandma and the source was a piece of plastic intake piping I can't get anymore. Plus head room, I'm 6'1"
      I traded for a 1995 Chevy 4x4 pickup which I need anyways as I'm moving to Montana now at almost 25

      For me bro,a 16 year old student for welding and mechanics,THE gte is going to be soo much easier to make power with once I take the ge out,building a ge is a big boy job money thing,I can do the full gte swap for 6k or less,while building the ge would be more expensive I think.I rather have the stock twins setup that I can keep upgrading little by little than a strong ge with no boost that gives me problems
