Salvation is not merely a one time event. Salvation, in its entirety comprises of Justification; which means forgiven for your past life of sin and saved from the bondage of sin. Next is Sanctification aka discipleship, which is the renewing of the mind to be like Christ’s and being prepared to be holy as God is Holy, obeying Christ and abiding in Him. The last is Glorification which is when we actually do acquire the inheritance of true salvation by receiving rewards and reigning with Christ with our new heavenly bodies. In the New Testament, you would realize these in phrases as Saved, Being saved and Shall be saved respectively.
Salvation is a race of faith, you’ve got to endure and finish it in order for you to be glorified.

    • @timothy4557

@hilda abraham All will "finish it;" the elect 'now' and the rest later. 1Tim.4:10,Jn.12:32; Col.1:20; Phil.2:8-11; 1Cor.15: 22,28; Rom. 5:18 etc etc. It is a one time event of which mankind contributes NOTHING other than receiving it. Heb:5:9; 2Pet.3:15.

@@timothy4557 your verses absolutely do nothing to disprove my point. Tear my argument apart then we can have a discussion. Seems like you were trying to make an argument for universalism which would make your stance even worse because that’s fallacious at best. However, considering some of your verses like Tim 4:10 “This is why we work hard and continue to struggle, for our hope is in the living God, who is the Savior of all people and particularly of all believers.”
actually argues against your stance because it states clearly that we must STRIVE to achieve our final reward. Also, 1 Corinthians 15:22 “For as in Adam all die, so in Christ all will be made alive. 23But each in turn: Christ, the firstfruits; then, when he comes, those who belong to him.
Verse 23 refutes universalism because it clearly states those who belong to him will be the ones to be taken.
Now, address my earlier comment. Thank you.

This guy is misleading the public to say that nothing is required by God for Salvation.
Jesus said that it is hard to be his follower.
      Matthew 7:14
"For the gate is narrow and the way is hard that leads to life, and those who find it are few."
Luke 13:23-24 also says that many will be rejected by Jesus:
"Then one said to Him, “Lord, are there few who are saved?” And He said to them, “Strive to enter through the narrow gate, for many, I say to you, will seek to enter and will not be able."
Jesus said that there are requirements that one has to meet if they want him to accept them.
      Luke 14:25-33
"Now great crowds accompanied him, and he turned and said to them, “If anyone comes to me and does not hate his own father and mother and wife and children and brothers and sisters, yes, and even his own life, he cannot be my disciple. Whoever does not bear his own cross and come after me cannot be my disciple. For which of you, desiring to build a tower, does not first sit down and count the cost, whether he has enough to complete it? Otherwise, when he has laid a foundation and is not able to finish, all who see it begin to mock him, ..."
Jesus said that their is a cost to find Salvation.

Lifestyle thieves, for example, defiantly refuse to deny themslves. They are not born again. They don't submit to God and resist the devil. They still have a deceitful heart. Yet they still have the opportunity to heed what God teaches. However if there is no brokenness and contrition then there is an ongoing problem. People need to say yes to God, the teacher.

I just broke down in tears listening to this because I had no idea I was deceived for so many years. I know I was saved but I let these outfits convinced me I wasn't. And now when I listen, there are three things that I've observed 1. Lordship salvation is a tiny bit of leaven (one grain of yeast in one measure of flour)
    2. One grain will "contaminate" the entire measure of flour
    3. My soul is grieved for the bait these teachers lay out.
Bait is necessary to catch a fish. It is also a trick to the fish- come here for this lil tasty morsel....there's more where this came from. To expect everyone to be skilled fisherman to know which bait to reject and which bait to accept is like asking the fish if he knows which hook will get him thrown back into the sea for another swim or served as lunch later on that day.
These outfits bait you with the Gospel...of false Jesus. A snare. An entrapment.
Look around you. God is in Christ reconciling the world back to Himself, and they are arguing over Lordship Salvation, Calvanism and Armenism.
Remember Satan gives you two choices and they're both wrong. That's how you know they're from him!!
( I know for allegory purposes there were three things mentioned, but I think you understand what I mean. Another example: I use "discipline" as God's middle ground, which is where truth rests. Satan gives you two choices: beat the crap out of your child, or let them run the house and do whatever they want.)

I'm generally not a fan of Johnny Mac or gotquestuions. But Pastor Nelson at the beginning of this video made a lot more sense than the other guy and was very biblical. I got saved as a boy watching Billy Graham on TV and he challenged people to repent of their sin and commit their lives to Christ. I'm so glad I had a mama who was raised in an old fashioned style, mourner's bench, Baptist church and showed me the right way. Sure no Christian is perfect. We still need to learn, grow, go on into sanctifaction and greater discipleship.
How can one be born again, transformed by the power of God, made a new creature in Christ, a child of God, a citizen of Heaven and NOT be surrendered to the authority and Lordship of Jesus Christ. "God forbid. How shall we who are dead to sin, live any longer therein?"
My high school pastor summed it up well, "works are the fruit of our salvation NOT the root of it." I have more respect for some Catholics than I do some of these anti repentance/Lordship folks.

Matthew 25:1-13, the parable of the 10 virgins, is indicative of the falsehood in OSAS. As you can read, these virgins all believed, therefore, they had salvation. However, as they awaited the return of their lord, they failed to keep their lamps burning - works in relation to slavation. Consequently, they were left outside, by whom, the very same lord they believed in.
Read all the verses regarding apostasy, which disproves OSAS. There are many verses that show that someone can fall from the faith and, thus, lose their salvation.
      2 Thessalonians 2:3
      1 Timothy 4:1
      2 Peter 2:20-22
      2 Timothy 4:3-4
      2 Peter 2:1, etc.
Acts 8:9-24 tells the story of a convert who loses his salvation by trying to buy the powers of the Holy Spirit.
Acts 5:1-11 illustrate two believers who lied and, therefore, were destroyed by God.

I knew that if I turned away and rejected Him it might be my last opportunity. I asked Jesus to come in and change me and immediately the feelings of guilt and stress left me. I physically felt it. Having nothing before Jesus, but a temporary life, knowing temporary pleasure, temporary relationships, false hope and false peace. We're trading a whole lot of nothing for a great big eternal Almighty God that changes our lives forever from the moment we meet and are set apart. If you think you have something holding onto worldly things, with the other hand dipped into a religion, you're a fool, worse than an unbeliever, that's the bottom line.

Also even when Jesus talks about people not being worthy of being his disciple it doesn't mean one should give up on descipleship. People can get discouraged with dicipleship, because the cost is high, but even Peter wasn't worthy when he denied Christ 3 times, but he grew stronger later on. That also shows that salvation is different from discipleship, as Christ didn't abandon Peter when he failed as a disciple. Not only was there no loss of salation, but there was no loss of discipleship either. When Jesus scorns people who put their hand to the plou and look back he's not saying they can't be a disciple, only that they're not worthy to be one. He's just encouraging them to practice not looking back, and to get worthy as a disciple. It takes time to get that spiritually mature, which is why it's daily. No one is worthy as a disiple from day 1.

    It's a very easy line to cross over. We also have to rightly divide the narrow meaning from the general meaning when our Lord Jesus is addressing certain groups. For instance;
He often speaks to His disciples regarding their duties to Him as their lord in the flesh. We are not 1st century Jews walking and following Jesus literally. Certain cults like the JW's believe they have to go door to door and continue to do the work Jesus sent His disciples to do. This may sound silly but it's true! Rightfully dividing the Word is so important and this can not be done by human effort alone. We need the Holy Spirit to guide us in understanding😁

For example, God commands all followers to spread the good news. Willful and constant rebellion to this indeed puts one's faith in jeopardy. If you love someone and trust someone, you obey them. Constant willful disobedience and unrepentance is a sign contrary to both total love and trust. On the outside we can say hmm that person is probably not truly saved, but ultimately only God knows.
Bearing one's cross is in reference to the Christian walk of faith and the suffering therein. Saving Grace is indeed a free gift. But the temptation to throw that gift away for the world or for sin is an ever-present temptation until the day we die. Therefore, taking up one's cross is the active striving against that temptation and the abiding of one's self in Christ through following his commands, fellowship, scripture reading, worship, etc. no matter how difficult any of those may become. Indeed if a Christian does not take up his cross everyday, he is in the greatest danger he could ever possibly know.

This verse is often misunderstood. Notice the part “never knew you”.
These are not born again believers who are saved by faith alone. If they were Jesus would have known them. They were never saved to begin with.
They didn’t put all their faith and trust in Christ, but rather relied on their works. They did. Or accept the free gift of salvation and instead wanted to earn it by right.
Transfer your trust from yourself and your works to the Savior!
I genuinely hope the best for you.

Amen bro, Lordship salvation is rank heresy, nigh Roman Catholicism, and front or backloads the Gospel. Typical Lordship salvation can not distinguish betwixt salvation and service. God bless.

    New International Version
19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

Good stuff brother. Question: Why would someone with real saving faith not want to be His disciple? Not to follow him/ be his disiple FOR salvation but as a result of salvation, through faith in his blood. Maybe it is not God's will for that person, but if we truly understand the glory of the gospel, it seems like it would control our hearts and make us want to follow Christ out of love, and out of the fact that we have been redeemed. All else would be vanity. 100% facts that realizing our sinfulness, and inability to save ourself, and having faith in Jesus being the propitiation is what saves. Faith in Him alone. I guess what I'm asking here, is what determines real saving faith? Someone saying, "Im a sinner, and I believe in Jesus's sacrifice and resurrection" and then someone saying "you are saved" Id be cautious of this. The heart is deceitfully wicked and I'm not sure that we can trust ourselves and our sincerity sometimes. Would probably be better to say, "You had made a profession of trusting in Christ, now lets see if you (as 1st John puts it) walk in the light, confess your sins, obey Christ (not perfectly but a gradual sanctification), have love for the brethren, hate the world (not literally but you know what I mean), have perseverance in the word, and see if the Father discipline's you. I can't seem to wrap my head around people that claim to be saved in Christ, but live as if Christ gave us no commands. Not that keeping his commands are what saves, but their profession of Christ and their contradictory lifestyle almost blasphemes the name of the Lord. They know for a 100% they are sinners, most do and admit this. They claim that Christ is the savior of the world, but they live in love for the world, and in obvious, physical sin (I say physical meaning not sins of the heart or mind or motive) but blatantly obvious sins that you almost have to go out of your way to commit. Now I sin everyday whether it be in my selfish motives, lust, not loving God as I should, greed, hate, slothfulness etc. But I for sure strive to stay in the word as it gives me great power over sin and great peace, and I've seen a dramatic shift in my desires, my will, and my sensitivity to sin. I feel massive conviction and discipline from the Father when I stray away. I have a natural desire out of love, to obey Christ, not trying to earn salvation as I know i'm already guilty. The Bible says that those the Father does not discipline, are not his own children. So it seems to me that people that profess Christ, and intellectually understand the doctrine but then can live in opposition, never have the slightest desire to pray or read the word, seems like they should re-examine their profession. Maybe its from a lack of understanding the true gospel in its entirety (Romans 3 being a good place to really dig into) it just doesn't make sense to me. I agree with grace through faith. The Lordship people saying you have to eliminate all of your sins to be saved is works. I just wonder where the correct line is/ what is the actual saving faith that produces obedience. There has to be something im missing here, or maybe its just not correct preaching of the gospel and of Gods attributes ie his justness and the real need for a propitiation. OR His actual love for us. IDK sorry for the rant hope you read this. God bless
