If a believer makes a sincere confession of faith in Jesus and genuinely repents of their sin, it will naturally follow that they'll _want_ to make Christ the lord of their lives. It doesn't mean that they _must,_ it just means that they _probably_ will.
@janainaribeiro3892 that’s not what I meant when I said it’s common sense. A true believer will want to do good works because they are saved. That’s what I meant by common sense & also that a new christian isn’t going to automatically show all good fruit from the beginning but that it’s a process, this is also common sense
@janainaribeiro3892 David was a man after God’s own heart but yet he still committed adultery with Bathsheba and wanted Uriah killed. He repented and he probably from my knowledge, is in Heaven with the Lord and did not lose his salvation for his adultery sin and thoughts of killing Uriah sin. That’s an example of how a Christian will not always do the right thing after salvation but they probably will do the right thing the majority of the time or at least more than half of the time
@janainaribeiro3892 no? I didn’t imply that. I also said in my comment that David repented so I mean really what are you trying to do besides say something I’m not implying? What more do you want? God punishes Christian’s on Earth but not in Hell
Pastor Nelson, you tore these verses from their biblical context. In the Matthew 7 passage, for example, the workers of lawlessness who stated their case to Christ had claimed obedience and good works to God as their ticket into heaven.. they say in verse 22: "Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and DO MANY MIGHTY WORKS in your name?" They were submitted to His Lordship, but they were trusting in their good works to save them. They were literally Lordship Salvationists. They hadn't been truly born again through genuine faith in Christ, so they were still in their sins. Righteousness only comes by faith. Our faith is misplaced if our progressive obedience to His eternal will is proof that we're saved; we MUST look to the cross, no ourselves. As his ministry progressed, the Apostle Paul saw himself as a worse and worse sinner in more and more need of God's grace. He didn't view himself more highly.. He saw more of God's grace in his own life as he became progressively sanctified. First, he says the he's the least of the apostles (1 Cor. 5:9). Later in his ministry, he calls himself the least of the saints (Ephesians 3:8). Nearer to his end, he calls himself the chief of all sinners (1 Tim. 1:15). Paul clearly didn't place his faith in his changed life for salvation. Yet he was changed man because of his faith. Also, no Lordship Salvationist that I've ever talked to or listened to has had assurance of their own salvation or has encouraged others to have assurance. But genuine saving faith is KNOWING that Jesus Christ, the Son of God, died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, was buried, and was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures. You cannot separate faith from assurance. But, if we're looking to our works to prove our salvation, we could NEVER KNOW with CERTAINTY that we have eternal life in His holy Name. Hebrews 11:1 says: "Now faith is the ASSURANCE of things hoped for, the CONVICTION of things not seen." I don't know that I'm saved because I'm a changed man, I know I'm a saved man because Christ died for me.
“Paul clearly didn’t place his faith in his changed life for salvation. Yet he was a changed man because of his faith.” Either this contradicts everything else you said or you’re straw-manning an argument. What do you mean “clearly?” How do you know he was a “changed man?”
@@judgedredd31 Saving faith isn't in good works- it's in Jesus Christ alone. But faith that is active results in a person that dies to themselves and lives for Christ. Before he was saved, Paul persecuted the early Christians with the self-righteous pharisees who rejected the Gospel. After coming to faith, he was a changed man. The Book of Acts tells the story.
Huge amen rmatt, drives me crazy how they destroy mathew 7, it's clear they claiming there works instead of christ, it's like they think we should claim more works, makes no sense.
Very well written, Faith alone, no works needed, lest I put my faith IN MY WORKS. We ourselves cannot follow the Law (no one could but God himself) but the sacrifice of Christ, once we have faith in him, gives us salvation. The Holy Spirit then enables us to walk righteously in repentance & sanctification. At the beginning of the law 3000 we're slain, but at the beginning of GRACE 3000 we're made righteous
@@2Chronicles714_ Paul said "repent of sin"? I'm not aware of where scripture says this, so perhaps you could cite the scripture, and the version you're using. Please keep in mind, some versions have added in "repent of sin" specifically to make people think this. However, that's not what scripture says in the original Greek translation, which is a "change of mind." The word "repent" isn't even the right word to use, since it is a Latin-derived word meaning to feel sorry.
@@jedimasterham2 What is the one thing that God would want us to change our minds about? The only thing that will keep you eternally separated from God. Sin. Yes some translations say of sin since the entire message of the Bible is God calling on a sinfulled man to repent and turn from sin to Him. Acts 17:30 In the past God overlooked such ignorance but now COMMANDETH ALL PEOPLE EVERY WHERE TO REPENT. Acts 20:21 I have declared to both Jews and Greeks that they MUST TURN TO GOD IN REPENTANCE AND HAVE FAITH in our Lord Jesus. Acts 22:16 And now what are you waiting for? Get up, be baptized and wash your sins away, calling on the name of the Lord. Water baptism always follows repentance from Acts 2:38. Paul recounts his encounter with Jesus. Acts 26:18-20 To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, SO THAT THEY MAY RECEIVE FORGIVENESS OF SINS and a place among those who are SANCTIFIED BY FAITH IN ME.’ 19“So then, King Agrippa, I was not disobedient to the vision from heaven. 20First to those in Damascus, then to those in Jerusalem and in all Judea, and then to the Gentiles, I preached that they should REPENT AND TURN TO GOD (believe) and demonstrate their repentance by their deeds/works/lifestyle. 2 Corinthians 7:9-10 Yet now I am happy, not because you were made sorry, but because YOUR SORROW LED YOU TO REPENTANCE. For YOU BECAME SORROWFUL as God intended and so were not harmed in any way by us. 10GODLY SORROW BRINGS REPENTANCE THAT LEADS TO SALVATION and leaves no regret, but worldly SORROW BRINGS DEATH.
Correct. People that don't want to turn from their sin, don't want to grow and mature in their relationship with Jesus will be turned away as part of the "I never knew you" gang. They are ignoring many, many verses of the Bible because it challenges how they are living or walking on the wide, easy road.

@@stevehardwick7285 No, they do not. If they walk away, they were never saved to begin with. When you are saved, you are sealed with the HS - you are not going to just walk away from faith in Christ if you are sealed.
So all those times I disobeyed or struggled with particular areas of the flesh, that means I was never truly saved (even though I hated my sin, acknowledged that it was wrong, asked for mercy, and tried to not repeat the same mistakes - but eventually did)? I need clarification about the difference between “remaining in sin” and “stumbling in many ways”. I can list 100 ways over 20 years that I feel as if I failed The Lord/disobeyed. But I cannot list 100 “fruits of the Spirit” I may have demonstrated because I try not to “take note” of righteous deeds, because if I did any, that’s not for me to judge, and these would be attributed to His Goodness in me, anyway. So I guess under this doctrine, I’ll spend the rest of my life wondering if Christ was on the throne of my life “enough” to warrant true faith on my part. Or, did the times I failed Him add so as to tip the scales in favor of me having “never been saved in the first place”?
Don’t overcomplicate things. Do you genuinely trust in Christ for salvation? If so, you are saved. Since you are saved, go and obey the Lord of your life. Mortify your flesh, repent where you do happen to sin and serve Him. Do remember, that you’re doing this because you ARE saved, not in order to BE saved. Those who are saved belong to Him and are His precious people! There is no better place to be. Now obey Him with love and gratitude in your heart. Peace! ✌🏼
@@JakeRuzi I agree and i dont. For our brothers and sisters who have been deceived by false definitions of what belief is or find themselves in the wide road being specific is important. we should always exhort and encourage our brethren because sin entangles easily and deceives us all. If you dont understand belief as James defines it then this very troubling. Because then you have not really believed you are one of the people who approaches the lord on that day and he tells them to leave his Prescence or like the demon who not only knows of Gods existence far better than we do but believes that god is one but this doesnt change his heart or the 3 types of seeds that failed in the parable of the Sower of the seeds or end up living a life like judas so close to God yet so impossibly far so yes while the premise of salvation is really quite simple people get close to the kingdom but never enter because of many things when issues like this arise we should be as detailed as possible the clarity we should all seek in confirming our personal salvation should be used to help our brothers and sisters who havent quite heard a good enough reason to examine themselves beyond false doctrine or wrong principles of faith. And im certain that even though lordship vs free grace isnt a reason to call someone a heretic or kick them out of church a proper understanding of lordship salvation should be promulgated as it isnt a small issue. We should seek with all our might to obey. In fact one of the men accused of lordship salvation was used by god to clarify how to become more obedient recently and it was that the more i understood and grasped who god is as he reveals himself in scripture as i see mercy and goodness and faithfulness in my life and the unfathomable promises he makes to me and all of us this gives me joy and this joy leads to proper obedience and so i say that last portion for a couple reasons. Not all who preach lordship salvation are doing so for pharisaical reasons there are those who are trying to teach it for faith growing reasons and to warn us of the dangers of not seeking or wanting God to be in that place in our lives yes of course we are saved by grace alone and in order to earn salvation we need not do a thing thats already granted to us but as a marker to show if the gospel has actually produced that last seed of the parable of the sower and the seed or in easiest terms saving faith we should seek to examine ourselves has this release of sinful burdens and grace iam completely unfit for and constantly showing i dont deserve producing the fruit of the spirit producing fruit of repentance producing a spirit that seeks to be under the constant hand of the lord. We should not scorn our brothers that teach lordship salvation just as i dont think we should our free grace brothers if anything the two camps should come together as neither side if indeed the ones talking are genuine are wrong but must be understood together it is because we are under free grace that we seek lordship. As Charles spurgeon so wonderfully said why do i need to reconcile friends
@@childishumehara9890 Hey! I actually would say that I adhere to Lordship Salvation, so long as it is properly defined. The reason I gave such a short answer is because I think that a lot of navel-gazing occurs among genuinely saved Christians. There are times for self-examination, to make sure that one is in the faith. But sometimes this can get overly excessive to the point that a genuine believer never feels the joy and peace of salvation because they’re not thinking about salvation soundly, or they lack an understanding of God’s goodness and grace. Again, I’m not trying to discourage self-examination, but it should be done in a healthy way. The beautiful thing about it as well, is that if one discovers, through self-examination, that they may not be saved, salvation is only a step away. Repent, and trust in Christ as your Lord, God and Saviour and He will never let you down. Having genuinely placed your trust in Him, rejoice! For you are justified and secure in Him. The Holy Spirit will work within you to sanctify you and cause you to produce good fruit. Yield to Him and walk in righteousness!
@@JakeRuzi I can somewhat grasp what you mean. In fact lordship vs grace even as important as they are smaller versions of what a Christian has to take in mind when evaluating themselves you wonder if you are being too nice on yourself or too harsh on yourself and as important as examination is ultimately i think its safe to say you should never make the final judgment call that you are saved but even in this trust that because he is who he says he is that this is your salvation. God's mind works beautifully. I have and still do experience this feeling of over examination/Navel gazing like you said most christians do. And as you say if you were to discover you weren't that doesn't mean pack your bags and leave it means however close you thought you were you can get closer and understand him more. Im a new believer ive only been converted for about 3 or 4 years now so finding fruit can seem impossible especially when you're in the face of a current sin. However, im slowly starting to learn what for every gaze you take at yourself take ten looks at Him means. Truly the knowledge of God is a wonderful thing. The gospel is the very power of God to those who are being saved. It was nice to talk to you. You have a sound mind you have a great friend and teacher with you.
That corner is wild. The shadow makes the corner look like it’s behind the lamp. Making the wall look like blue was painted on the wall with the dresser
Why do people keep saying this like it disproves lordship salvation? The thief on the cross was saved and if he wasn't in the process of dying... He would have lived for Christ... Living for Christ is not what gets you saved it's just proof you are... That's all lordship salvation is.
Luke 23:42-47 King James Version 42 And he said unto Jesus, Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom. 43 And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, Today shalt thou be with me in paradise. 44 And it was about the sixth hour, and there was a darkness over all the earth until the ninth hour. 45 And the sun was darkened, and the veil of the temple was rent in the midst. 46 And when Jesus had cried with a loud voice, he said, Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit: and having said thus, he gave up the ghost. 47 Now when the centurion saw what was done, he glorified God, saying, Certainly this was a righteous man.

Lordship 'salvation' is not the Biblical Evangel of faith alone in Christ's Finished Work alone. It is faith plus faithfulness (or works) and a slightly diluted version of Catholicism's gospel. Romanism lite if you like.
@Tableú There is nothing in that passage to indicate that the wicked servants were ever saved and servants of the Most High. It is a parable and addressed to Israel pertaining to the Gospel of the Kingdom not the Gospel of the Grace of God for this present dispensation.
@Tableú We are not saved by behaving but believing. Works do not figure whatsoever to give us something to boast about and eternal life is guaranteed the split second one relies wholly and solely on Christ's death, burial and resurrection on their behalf. Granted when one is saved and the Holy Spirit takes up residence, priorities, appetites and preferences do change albeit imperfectly. Motivation for serving the Lord is out of gratitude for the inheritance He has called us into and He enables us by His Grace to do what we can't in our natural selves. It is not to stay saved out of fear. The Gospel is good news to lost humanity. What you are saying isn't and gives no certainty or assurance, maybe only to the self-righteous but that is one that is founded on sinking sand as those in Matthew 7 will find out when they appeal to their 'many wonderful works'. Make sure you are not among their number.
@Tableú By the deeds of the law, no flesh shall be justified. We are justified freely by His Grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus. The yoke of Jesus is easy and His burden is light for those who come in Him in faith, resting in His Finished Work.Whatsoever is not of faith and carried out to the Glory of God is sin. Are you telling me you don't sin in thought, word or deed? Commandment keeping will not save you. Break the law in one point, you're guilty of breaking it all but faith in the atoning Blood of Jesus, cleanses from all sin- past, present and future never to be remembered again. Trying to climb up a stairway to Heaven through your own merits will only take you to Hell. Don't go there and if you've never trusted Christ alone for eternal salvation, do so without delay.
I wish the distinction would be made between easy believism and free grace. They are two different things. People who believe in lordship's salvation accuse people who believe in free Grace of preaching easy believism. As if you can just mouth a prayer and be saved. The gospel of free grace, which is the only true gospel, is not saying you can just mouth a prayer, but it is saying that if you truly believe in your heart and profess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord then you shall be saved exactly as the Bible says (Romans 10:9)
1:05 "True faith ENCOMPASSES a surrender to God." No, heretic. True faith RESULTS in an obedience that comes by faith. But the definition of faith does NOT "encompass" the resulting works. You are a legalistic heretic.
Pretty simple. Romans 10:9-10 you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved. Philippians 2-10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, 11and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord No question about it Lordship Salvation is a must.
The fact that Jesus came, his life and events were a turning point in history . He said we should carry our crosses and follow him,as this world is fallen and we all have a cross (diffucilties etc ) . Jesus freed as from the bondage and carried everyone's burden . If it wasn't from Him we would have never have the chance to be saved that way. BUT we are going to be saved AFTER we die and God decides. Our deeds do not have worth in a sense of "saving us" , BUT they do show who we followed. Everyday is a chance to repent from God. Don't get me wrong. Even if we did everything right(which obviously can't happen) we would still be undeserving of being where Jesus and God is. He didn't just showed or reached the way, he became the way. We should do the same 😊 PS. We should NEVER get discouraged, even Peter denied Jesus our of fear/weakness❤️

our righteousness and works are filthy rags. looking to works for confirmation of salvation is not Biblical. Looking to your pastor, yourself, scholars will not get you the truth. Only scripture will give you the truth. Scripture will never contradict itself, it will always be human error that contradicts itself. Romans 4 1What shall we say then that Abraham our father, as pertaining to the flesh, hath found? 2For if Abraham were justified by works, he hath whereof to glory; but not before God. 3For what saith the scripture? Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him for righteousness. 4Now to him that worketh is the reward not reckoned of grace, but of debt. 5But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness. 6Even as David also describeth the blessedness of the man, unto whom God imputeth righteousness without works, 7Saying, Blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven, and whose sins are covered. 8Blessed is the man to whom the Lord will not impute sin. Rightly divide scripture. Salvation and service are different things. Scripture does not contradict itself and is clear.
Matthew 7:22-23 Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name and in your name drive out demons and in your name perform many miracles?’ Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!’ Those people trusted in their works to be right with God. The mentality they should've had was, 'Lord you paid the price for my sin and are my mediator with the Father. I'm a sinner with your imputed righteousness. Lordship salvation tells you to read your Bible everyday and thinks 2 Cor 13 means to examine yourself according to your sin. Not true. All the books 📚 in the Bible direct you to remember what Christ has already done for you.
You should have continued the verses. You took this out of context. “Not everyone who calls out to me, ‘Lord! Lord!’ will enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Only those who actually do the will of my Father in heaven will enter. On judgment day many will say to me, ‘Lord! Lord! We prophesied in your name and cast out demons in your name and performed many miracles in your name.’ But I will reply, ‘I never knew you. Get away from me, you who break God’s laws.’ Matthew 7:21-23 NLT Jesus was clearly stating that even though these people did works they were not going to be allowed into heaven. Jesus was primarily focused on obedience to God by following God's law. What is God's law? The 10 commandments! You might say well, isn't Jesus contradicting himself? The answer is no. He isn't. He's making it clear that what comes first is obedience to God by following his law. ( 10 commandments) Then after you've been obedient to God's law, go out and do the works. Because as James wrote, faith without works is dead. Salvation comes by being obedient to God's law and having faith in Jesus. The works are like fruit of the faith we have in Jesus. That's why the Bible says "you will know them by their fruit"
Jesus never sets up this separation. They are one and the same for him. We get this wrong because we first ask "How do we get to heaven, and then how should we live?" But Jesus tells us how we can enter into his kingdom now that lasts for eternity.

Believest thou this? Do you believe Jesus' words here? Or is Jesus a liar? I do. I am saved because I believe. We SHOULD follow Christ and be His disciple and grow in the faith AFTER we get saved! How do we get saved? By faith ALONE. Turning from sin (not in the bible) and working for the Lord is NOT a requirement for salvation, otherwise, we would ALL be going to Hell. Look, friend, I struggled to figure out what all this was about. I believed when I first came to the knowledge of what Jesus did for us, I knew at that moment, that it was the truth. However, I was unsure if I was born again and saved for eternity. As I continued my walk, I tried my hardest not to sin, but I would sin everyday, trying not to. This brought me to crisis because I believed, but I thought I could lose my salvation for sinning, even though I didn't want to and I was in a lot of pain mentally and emotionally. I then realised I didn't know what repentance actually was. I thought I had to keep repenting and turning from sin, and If I didn't, I would be left behind. Jesus would cast me out because I could not live up to the standard of perfection that He is, and was in my mind. I searched and found that salvation and discipleship truly are separate. We are either saved by faith or by works. It can not be both. Yes I agree, good works can be a good indication someone is in the faith, but there are many people who do good works, and do not know, trust or believe Jesus. So only god knows the heart. Jesus says on the last day many will call him Lord (workers) but He will say to them, I NEVER knew you. They NEVER trusted him alone. Once you do, you are sealed to the day of promise. Once a son/daughter, always a son/daughter! Can you sin and be chastised by god in this life, YES! But there is nothing I can do to forfeit being a son. I am born again once, as a son. I am not born over and over again by repenting every time I sin. Which is impossible anyway. What if you forget a sin? How can we live up to perfection? How can our works save us, that would mean Jesus died for nothing. There are people who do amazing works for humanity every day and do not know Christ, they are not saved!! Works do not indicate 100% a person is saved.
No, it is not what the "church" has taught since the beginning. Christ Himself never taught that to surrender to Him as Lord would save you. Neither did any other Biblical writer. God saves us from the wrath of God on our sins for one reason and ONLY ONE REASON. It is because we understand our lost condition as hell-deserving sinners and we trust in the substitutionary atonement of the Lord Jesus Christ for our sins. I must admit my guilt to God as a sinner who's broken His laws and trust in the one and only remedy for my sins, the blood atonement of the "Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world." It is AFTER that we should become disciples and serve the Lord. It is NOT anywhere a condition of believing in Him. Jesus did not teach that, period. Lordship is adding a condition to being saved from hell that is not in the Bible.

So, sit back and relax because you really don't care in the least if people burn in the fires of hell forever because people are teaching you must forsake all sins and make Jesus the Lord of their lives in order to get saved. Just keep your wicked thoughts to yourself. Lordship salvation is HERESY and you're not right with God if you believe it. Calm down? That shows how backslidden you really are.
Because I called "Got Questions" out for teaching a corrupt gospel? You can believe that Lordship is correct if you like. I believe it's a serious perversion of the gospel. I'm not going to sit here and say nothing while people like that make very FALSE statements about how a person can be saved. It's very clear to me that you don't really care about the truth. All I did was say what I truly believe and know is the truth and Lordship ain't it!!! No, I'll not calm down. In fact, I will begin to be much more aggressive about calling out this wicked, damnable heresy. I support no person who teaches this heresy. So NO, I will NOT CALM DOWN.
The fact that Jesus came, his life and events were a turning point in history . He said we should carry our crosses and follow him,as this world is fallen and we all have a cross (diffucilties etc ) . Jesus freed as from the bondage and carries all the burden . We should do the same 😊
...and that's what is meant by "CARRYING THE CROSS OF OUR LORD AND HAMASHIACH / MESSIAH, YESHUA / JESUS EVERY DAY FOR THE REST OF OUR LIVES .." We DENY that and we have turned into a bunch of hypocritical religious LUNATICS!!
wE SHOULDN'T DO THE SAME, WE SHOULD STRIVE TO DO SO. wE CAN'T POSSOÍBLY BE LIKE He, who was preparing his incarnation in a human body loong before be was born and is a big spirit, not a human being.
I actually prepared a message for my small church that one day I might get to teach - and my message went right along with lordship salvation, even though I didn't realize it. For 18 years I was a "Christian" apologist, claiming Christ as Savior but never as Lord. I was not following Him, was not surrendered to Him, and did not have ANY fruits. I was a Matthew 7 "Christian". I listened to some of MacArthur's sermons and he was quoting some of the same Scripture in my message. Amen!
DONT BE DECEIVED John 11:25-26 25 - Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: 26 - And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die.
@@Covelio Trust me man, I know exactly where you're coming from. It's just we have two wildly interpretations of what "believe" means. Let's get some things straight - I fully believe we are justified by faith alone through Christ - there is no such thing as "salvation by works". However, there is dead faith, which does not lead to salvation or repentance, and there is living, saving faith (see James) that always leads to repentance and good works. So then we ask : What is real, saving faith? Is there such a thing as non-saving "faith" ? You seem to have the same type of understanding of faith that many do -- faith that Christ has covered our sins, and then hopefully discipleship (or 'good works') comes later as a result of that faith but if it doesn't, then that's no big deal. Basically 'Level 1' and 'Level 2" Christians in a rough sense. I can tell you now my friend, that's not the case. I was a "Level 1" Christian for 18 years. I fully, truly "believed" (in the non-Biblical sense) that Christ is God, died for my sins, and that I was saved. I was an apologist and argued this fact (and many others) countlessly. The problem is - I had absolutely no heart for Christ - yet I fully believed the truth of Scripture. I did not repent, though occasionally I felt bad about doing dumb things. I did not chase after Christ and His nature, His heart, or His ways because I had "easy believe-ism" -- I fully and truly believed in Christ, therefore I could live however I wanted. I didn't care about anyone's salvation, I was full of pride that I was smart enough to have my own salvation -- I was in deep, DEEP deception, full of lust, anger, jealousy, pride. I was a Matthew 7 believer. Jesus's name was on my lips, but my heart was far from Him. Consider: John 3:36 -- Uses belief and works interchangeably. Jesus : Whoever hears my words and DOES NOT DO THEM, I will tell you what he is like (paraphrase of the builder and the house on the foundation) John 14:12-15 John 14:21 John 14:23 John 8:21-47 I urge you, strongly strongly, read those passages and look at the interplay between faith and works. They're inseparable. Saving faith will result in fruit of the Spirit, manifested in works for the glory of God. These works are done out of a love for Christ and recognition He's Lord. God bless!
@@commonchristian917 You laid out a concise Scripture presentation which is great. Sometimes, i think boiling down a theology to a phrase or a word creates a lot of confusion. I am not saying John MacArthur has done this as I have not listened to too many of his sermons nor read his books, but I have had MacArthur advocates describe Lordship Salvation as 'both being needed' to get salvation. That is incorrect from a Biblical standpoint. It is Faith Alone by Grace in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, that is the only qualification for salvation. The fruits, good works, repentance, we are able to do these things as we are Christians first, and those follow. Could someone that professes to follow Jesus and continue to sin not be a true believer? Sure, but only Jesus knows the heart of a person and whether that person is in the book of life or not. We are to encourage others and we can certainly rebuke actions, but to say that if you don't have xyz works, you are not a Christian, that is not Biblical. Plenty of people of action that did seemingly good works that were not true believers. Judas as a prime example. The Church of Sardis as another. Bible does tell us while for a true believer, faith and works is inseparable, but only one is the cause of our salvation. And many people have the other (works) that are not saved, that walk among us in the church.
@@commonchristian917 dead faith means it is no use in this world to win souls and do the work of God. It does not mean you will lose your salvation. You mix any works into being saved, you don’t understand the Gospel, Grace or Repentance. Repentance is a change of mind. God repented. Does that mean God repented of His sin? Of course not!
Luke 23:39-43 (NASB95) One of the criminals who were hanged there was hurling abuse at Him, saying, “Are You not the Christ? Save Yourself and us! But the other answered, and rebuking him said, “Do you not even fear God, since you are under the same sentence of condemnation? “And we indeed are suffering justly, for we are receiving what we deserve for our deeds; but this man has done nothing wrong.” And he was saying, “Jesus, remember me when You come in Your kingdom!” And He said to him, “Truly I say to you, today you shall be with Me in Paradise.”
Thank you for illuminating the truth. The world hated Jesus first. They are going to hate you for exposing their evil deeds (John 3:19). Easy-believism prides itself around dead (no) faith and no concern for repenting from sins. 1 Cor 5:11-13 says have NOTHING to do with such "believers."
Absolute garbage that Free Grace or easy believist people pride themselves on what you call 'dead (no) faith and no concern for repenting from sins'. Believing is precisely how one is saved, Jesus having done all the hard work and if that's too easy for you, take it up with the Lord. We do hold to repentance (change of mind, re-think, agreement with God) as needful for salvation not repentance 'of/from sin/s'. That comes after salvation is received by faith alone. In my experience, I've witnessed higher standards of holiness, more fruit of the Spirit and much more active service for the Lord with those who are Free Grace compared to Lordshippers.
The True Gospel of Grace! (Good news)✨ [1 Corinthians 15:1-4]🎉 Jesus Christ shed His blood for ALL of our sins past, present, and future. He was buried, resurrected and rose again on the third day, according to the scriptures. We are saved by Grace through Faith in Jesus Christ Alone, not of our works, so nobody can boast! It is Amazing Grace, something we did not and cannot earn, and something we do not deserve. God gave His only begotten son, (uniquely born of God, eternally existing before His human birth) that whosoever (anyone) believes in Him, shall not perish, but have eternal life. How to be saved? 1. Admit you are a sinner, in need of the saviour, Jesus Christ. 2. The moment you put your faith and trust in Jesus Christ alone to save you from death, you are sealed until the day of redemption. You are protected, cannot lose your salvation, justified by the blood of Christ, and Rapture Ready! (which is going to happen at any moment!) 3. Your Faith is counted for righteousness! The Holy Spirit will indwell in you, lead you, guide you, minister to you, encourage you, speak to you, teach you and change you. TODAY is the day of Salvation! Trust Jesus Christ Today! Amen and God bless❤️❤️❤️
Jesus taught us how to get saved and gave us assurance of our eternal destiny and that is by simply believing in him for eternal life.he said you shall not go through condemnation (future) but has (present) passed from death unto life. He describes believing in him like a drink of water, or a eat of bread. That moment you eat or drink of him you shall live forever. You'll never hunger or ever thirst. Jesus said that if you live and believe in him you shall never die, even though you may die you shall live. And he said that he will hold us by his hand and God's hand as well. For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16 KJV Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life. John 5:24 KJV And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst. John 6:35 KJV This is the bread which cometh down from heaven, that a man may eat thereof, and not die. I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever: and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world. John 6:50-51 KJV Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day. John 6:54 KJV and I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand. John 10:28-29 KJV Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: and whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this? John 11:25-26 KJV I will ask you the same question. Do you believe this? Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ while you still can. You can never lose eternal life. It is a free gift from God. Not of works. For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: not of works, lest any man should boast. Ephesians 2:8-9 KJV
The fact that Jesus came, his life and events were a turning point in history . He said we should carry our crosses and follow him,as this world is fallen and we all have a cross (diffucilties etc ) . Jesus freed as from the bondage and carried everyone's burden . If it wasn't from Him we would have never have the chance to be saved that way. we are going to be saved AFTER we die . Our deeds matter. He didn't just showed or reached the way, he became the way (leader of the leaders). We should do the same 😊 IMPORTANT!!!! I used to be a non-believer for years. Remember he magnifies and minimizes. I 've learned the evil tactics employed-Many times thoughts will tell you to do more than you can for God, when it's actually the devil. Before you sin he says" oh it is nothing just do it, "and after he said" look at what you've done, you are never gonna be saved now". both are a LIE. There's no sin that can't be forgiven, as God is endless and holds all power. We shouldnt be anxious of fearful about it - just try our best and praying. We should NEVER get discouraged, even Peter denied Jesus our of fear/weakness. When Jesus returned He didn't even say to his closest people-why you denied me? He said- have peace. He knew even his closest people will betray Him. 😃❤️
Lordship salvation teaches that salvation is pending the outcome of our lives, also that Jesus is the author of our faith but we are the finisher. The thief on the cross got off Scot-free and the rest of us must check the boxes. Our faith cannot be a possession and we cannot take joy in it. What a wonderful thing to proclaim.
If salvation is not by faith alone, then, the righteous of Christ that is imputed to every born again believer isn't enough to secure salvation, self righteousness is needed as well. In other words, our salvation isn't free and will not be compleatly secured unless we do the work that is required of us to ensure that it is even though the Scripture tells us salvation is not of ourselves.
Wouldn’t the devil and the demons that King Jesus expelled “believe” in Who Jesus is? They acknowledge His Sovereignty yet, wouldn’t follow Him! Christ follower or Christian, not always the same meaning! Praise Jesus for this teaching
Lordship salvation turns faith in Jesus into a false religion. Please tell us exactly how you determine when you have reached holiness good enough for Jesus? Salvation comes first, then comes discipleship which encourages you to bear fruit but which is not required for salvation.
Romans 6:22 (NKJV): 22 But now having been set free from sin, and having become slaves of God, you have your fruit to holiness, and the end, everlasting life. Notice, salvation produces the fruit of holy living (by your cooperation with His Spirit) and the expected result, eternal life. See this verse: Romans 8:30 (NKJV): 30 Moreover whom He predestined, these He also called; whom He called, these He also justified; and whom He justified, these He also glorified. But then see Hebrews 12:10,14. Sons that are accepted have received discipline and righted their ways to behave righteously and partake of holiness. You don’t go from justification to glorification without living holy obedient lives, without holiness. You either accept His chastenment and correct your ways, or you become a bastard. This is the same as John 15:1-11. You either abide (obey) in the vine (in Christ words and His Spirit) or you are pruned, or you are cut off, and gathered for the fire. You may not like it, but it is the word of the Lord. Let no man deceive you.
Notice how they hypocritically state it’s not a works salvation, but then argue for a works based salvation? And if you don’t do what they say, they don’t consider you saved. Also notice how they create a false dichotomy to elevate their works based salvation.
He rightly criticizes DECISIONAL REGENERATION, but then turns right around and embraces DECISIONAL REPENTANCE!🤣 Repentance is a change of heart wrought by God. It happens slowly over a lifetime, not instantly by man "making a TOTAL commitment."

At what point of discipleship is one saved? More exactly, after how much discipleship does Eternal Security kick in so that if I commit some grave sin they cannot say I was never saved in the first place? Is that based on the Gregorian or a Julian calendar? Personally, I would like to know when ES starts so I can be confident in what my teacher/preacher says about my salvation. Also, does my ES depend on the quality of the teacher or theology being taught me? What preacher would that be so I can put my faith in his theology and not Jesus Christ? Would like some recommendations please.
This was an interesting overview but one key area that I believe was glossed over is when Jesus spoke about the 'narrow gates' In Matt 7:13-14 (Parrellel verse in Luke 13:24. The way this video treated that verse makes it seem like salvation is a narrow road that we must follow to know we are saved. The way I am reading it and reading chapter 7 as a whole, I don't read it that way. The decision of going through the Wide gate and Narrow Gate is a decision that ONLY CHRISTIANs make. Unbelievers go through the Wide Gate all the time. It is only because in Faith, and only by the Grace of God through Jesus Christ that we are saved, that we have the means to choose to go through the narrow gate. Unlike Jesus though, we unfortunately do not choose the narrow gate always. I believe Jesus is warning Christians to choose the Narrow Gate always. It will be hard but choose it and not the Wide Gate that our old nature and the world advocates. Jesus teaches that believers are the Salt of the World. If we are saltless, we do become useless but Jesus never said we lose our salvation. Let's encourage each other, like Paul did, to pick up the cross DAILY, walk the Narrow Gate DAILY.
If you believe in God's truth and when you put your trust in Jesus your sins are gone forever! That gift is permanent. But still life a good life to the best you can.
This is the weirdest argument to me. We are saved by Grace through Faith. The Holy Spirit lives INSIDE the new believer. How can the Holy Spirit be literally in you and you don’t feel remorse about the sin in your life. How can the Holy Spirit be making you more Christ like and you not be aware of your actions and how they can either bring shame or Glory to God. J Mack is right.
I could not disagree more. Almost nothing he said was Biblical. Certainly not making Jesus your Lord in order to be saved. This was by far the worst video of him that I've ever watched. Lordship salvation is pure, unadulterated heresy.
I will never understand this! There's no catagory to work within. We Sin by thinking wrong thoughts day in, day out. How on earth can you repent and confess all this. I can understand if it's big sin, but not sin in general
Very clear pronouncements! "MUST yield to Christ;" cant' be saved if "cling to sin;" "reject Christ's authority in his life does not have saving faith." So then, acc. to this doctrine, Dr. Lawson was not/is not saved. [Something I would not say myself. But you also misrepresent salvation by faith alone doctrine as "easy believism" and purely "mental assent" - as if believing a Jewish construction worker was the God-man who died in my place and rose again and gratefully receiving the gift of eternal life He promises to those who believe is not the greatest story ever told and that I will not worship Him forever for that good news.]
There is no debate now, since the publication of John Barclays "Paul and the gift" Theological work (or the popular level book "Paul and the power of grace"). Both Lordship salvation and cheap grace have different definitions of grace, but both emphases the wrong aspects than Paul did. Both misunderstood the perfection of grace, but both have elements of truth in. Better they are united and learn from each other. Pauls emphasis was that grace is a gift that is given without any regard to ones worth of any kind (works, status, ethnicity, moral standing) ..grace is incongrous. That's where Lordship salvation fail to emphasize..but the free gift of grace does n't ever come "without strings attached" .. it brings about a reciprocal relationship..(discipleship) so thats where cheap grace goes wrong. Grace is unconditionED but not unconditionAL. I suggest in 20 years no one will be debating this and those books will be put at the back in the history section.
Matthew 10:8 Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give. It still is freely received and freely given though Paul. Even repentance from sin is a gift granted by God in the gospel of Jesus Christ His Son reading from Acts 11:18. Acts 11:18 When they heard these things, they held their peace, and glorified God, saying, Then hath God also to the Gentiles granted repentance unto life.
@@jjjj-ss8dq the whole idea that a gift if it's "free" is free from obligations ("strings attached") has been a Modern Western idea, in ancient time gifts were given to establish some kind of reciprocal relationship. This is also still true in many Asian countries. For example, if I gave you 10 million dollars there would be some expectations of reciprocal relationship. That is essentially the error of the modern "Free Grace" movement.. The biblical idea of "Free gift" is in reference to the front end, it's available to all regardless their social capital (works, religion, status, gender). John Barclay says "grace is UnconditionED but not Unconditional" .
Has anyone here tried to find or seek christ in intense suffering and chronic illness, so much our life is on the line and we have been traumatized and our minds and brains, all around our whole being has been effected? How does one find jesus with medical trauma that has caused an intense fear of death, was not also taught who the real god was during this time, everyone said i would be healed, i didnt know any better til 9 yrs into this looking back i was brainwashed and warped spirutually, i feel im learning things to late in the game, im terrified of going to hell, i struggle daily physically mentally spiritually emotionally, its hard to find or grasp spiritual things when everything is broken and freaking out on the inside, so exhausted confused foggy feels like im being poisoned and have brain damage, im having a hard time and so scared im going to die and go to hell, never had anyone to disciple me right in the beginning of this, everyone says something different on salvation and i have been confused in scriptures for years especially the sicker ive got, how does one let go when youre afraid of hell and youre so sick your mind is off and suffering so intense it makes it hard to be a human in every way, struggling writing this now, i feel so alone and scared and confused in this battle, idk how much more time god is going to grant me, my memory has also been severely impaired so i cant remember or think back to what I heard or where my heart was and went after i ended up in church and baptized, i dont look like other Christians, theres so much out there on healing but not on chronic illness and it affecting ones spirit mind soul heart, so scared, idk where to start or how to get where i want, dont feel right, wasnt always like this, is there anyone else out there that can relate?
Jesus Christ calls disciples to Himself and each must follow Him, no matter what: each must give up their rights to family, friends, a “normal” worldly life and prepare themselves for the possibility of loss of all things, suffering, persecution, & death in order to follow Him. He must become the Lord of your life. Luke 6:46-49 Luke 9:23-24;57-62;14:26-27,33 John 8:31-32; 12:25-26 Matthew 7:13-14 This video appears to distill the Lordship salvation teaching, but also seems to narrow it down to the idea of “repentance and believe” probably because of MacArthur’s book. Yes, repentance from sin is involved, but Jesus tells us (see scriptures above) who may call Him Lord. We cannot just have people recite a prayer from Romans 10:9,10 and think they really understand the meaning of the full commitment of a disciple making Jesus their Lord and following Him. Some might say, “Jesus is Lord” or confess “Jesus as Lord” or confess “the Lord Jesus”, but unless you explain John 1 to them, they aren’t going to get the idea of this confession being Jesus is LORD (GOD Almighty), i.e. HIs Deity. The more common understanding is Jesus must become your Lord, nor Master, your Teacher, and you His student, His slave, and you agree to follow Him in what He says. This is the clear meaning of John 15:1-11 and Hebrews 12, where the consequence of not following Christ in obedience (abiding) in His words (Jesus’s call of discipleship) and in His Spirit, then we face either being pruned or disciplined, or cut off, and become bastards. The Lord Jesus expects those who follow Him to be holy as He is holy, to live out holiness, sanctification, and righteousness because of His indwelling Spirit living inside of the born again disciple. His Spirit is available (and given) only to those who obey Him (Acts 5:32b). Being born from above (born-again) is the creation of a new temple suitable for which Christ Spirit may occupy. Afterwards, like a house cleaned up, it must be dedicated to the Lord’s service. Water immersion is symbolic of the identification of the death of the old life, repentance of sin, and the death, burial and resurrection of Christ, where the disciple has reckoned Himself with Christ on the cross, in burial, and in resurrection from the dead to new life. Each Ask for and expect to Receive the Holy Spirit to possess you, to inhabit and live inside of you as His Temple. Expect to know Him inside of the new you, for you to abide in Him in his vine, and worship Him in Spirit and Truth, to draw upon His power, His gifts, joy, peace, righteousness, strength and produce the fruit of righteousness in your life as you love Him and others, spreading the good news. Luke 11:9-13 John 4:10,13-14; 7:37-39; 14:15-18 Acts 1:8;2:1-4 Examine yourself in faith, not in fear, doubt or unbelief, nor in denial of the truth: Has the Spirit of Christ taken up residence inside of you? Or does He just visit from time to time, knocking on the door of your heart asking to come inside? 2 Corinthians 13:5 Romans 8:9 2 Corinthians 3:17 If you find yourself alone in your body, humble yourself before the Lord and seek Him out; confess your sins one to another and receive prayer from those walking righteously with the Lord James 5:16 1 John 5:16-17 2 Corinthians 2:10 Mark 2:10 John 20:23 1 John 1:9 Heb 12 The disciple is Pray in the Spirit with ALL prayers Romans 8:26-27 Ephesians 6:18; Jude 1:20 If you do not have the Spirit, do the first works again. They created a false dichotomy between “lordship salvation” and something they made up called “easy believe-ism.” They then knockdown their made up opposition to elevate their works based salvation.
Mathew 7:21-24 says the people who say lord lord are proclaiming their good works they’ve done in Jesus name. Then Jesus tells them to depart because he ever knew them. Why? Because they were trusting faith + works. Don’t fall for this deception. Salvation is not the same as sanctification.
Lets acknowledge that the topic od Easy believism vs lordship salvation means different things to different people. For some the" Lordship" means adding to one salvation...to others thats not what its saying at all...the" easy believeism" is salvation by mental assent & emotionalism to chirst.. And "Lordship" is of the Will..its depending on Christ. The crooksof the topic is held within what someone defines as "Believe".. Believe in John 3:16 for example & through out John's gospel the word Believe is a verb. And the tense is present continual. Not a noun. I think of it like a tripod...some believe only out of mental assent, emotions, and the Will. ( choosing Christ, choosing to depend on him)...you need all 3 legs...but it cant be primarily mental acknowledgemeny or emotions..the will has to come into play. Many have applied Lordship too strongly, harshly..they have experienced gross abuses & manipulations in the name of "Lordship" by Certain leaders or cults, denominations..implying teachings it Doesnt mean.... On last note, notice hiw in John's Gospel account the word "repent" is never used. Believe & repent are synonymous. Meaning the same thing

Hey Nelson, thanks a lot for the clear explanation. I’ve been looking for some resources to dip my toes into so to speak for an explanation of Lordship salvation. I just don’t get it how you would receive Jesus Christ is savior and then not want to. I’ll say feeling an allegiance or an obligation, or to show Christ that you love him with the fruits of your labors. It makes no sense to me that you would want to continue in the sin from which he saved you and Liv wickedly as opposed to trying to live to please himafter he saved you so that when he comes again, he will find faith on the Earth
He talks of the fruit in mathew 7 as if it's referring to behavior, it's not, it's referring to what one believes or doctrine. If one studies mathew 7 carefully you will find this.
No if you read the context, Matthew 5-7 is literally Jesus laying out a set of rules to follow and concluded by saying if you follow them you will be saved, if you don’t follow them you will be condemned. There’s nothing about faith/believing in Matthew 5-7. It’s all about forgiving others, loving your enemy, turning the other cheek, helping the poor, and not looking at women lustfully.
@@IanBartleson wrong, mathew 7 beware of false prophets who come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are s, by thier fruit ye shall know them. So who is the " them" and what are the " fruits"
@@jjjj-ss8dq Matthew 5-7 is all about obedience to Jesus’s commands. You have to be blind not to recognize that or maybe just never have read it. ““Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice(X) is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. 25 The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. 26 But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. 27 The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash.”
@@IanBartleson yes in the sermon on the mount Jesus gave many teachings and instructions, wich by the way went all the way to sinless perfection. There is no mention of the " the gospel" in the sermon on the mount. Have you heard of the law gospel distinction when studying the Bible? In mathew 7 it's plain that the wolves in sheep's clothing are false prophets or teachers. It say they look like sheep, so by how they act we can't tell who they are. What is the " fruit" of a teacher. Obviously what they saying or teaching. Later in the passage we see them and those who were decieved by thier false message, on that day, get turned away and Jesus said he never knew them. This is because of the answer they gave, speaking about what they had done. They were condemned by thier words. This is seen clearly in mathew 12 as well were Jesus said by thy words you shall be justified and by thy words will be condemned. Because a man speaks what he believes in his heart. It's all right there please read mathew 12 as well it fits perfectly with 7
This a really useful video, I didn't realize that what I have begun to believe actually has a name " Lordship Salvation " or in other words " Genuine Christianity "
@@jacksonrelaxin3425 I'm trying to learn about this lordship salvation and honestly aren't we saved by grace through faith and not of works lest any man should boast
@@gabrieltorres5293 it’s basically a cult that follows Jesus and thinks they have the true answer to salvation while literally never explaining what they mean
@@gabrieltorres5293 Go on to read the context after that verse that says we are Christ’s workmanship created in Christ Jesus for good works. We can’t boast because good works are produced through abiding in Christ and it is his workmanship. Dead works are us doing works of our own to earn salvation or to seem right in the eyes of God. We must surrender to his will and have and seek personal relationship if we really want to have saving faith.
There were 4 prophets called into the service of God who became redeemed by the blood of Christ while they were yet fetuses. These are, Jacob, Ro.9:11 context; David, Ps.139, Jeremiah, Jer.1:4,5 and John the Baptist, Lk.1:15. None of them ever heard the Name "Jesus Christ" being fetuses; none of them ever "accepted Jesus into their heart; made a decision for Christ; put their nonexistent faith in Jesus Christ so as to invoke self-salvation as people do today thinking they became saved by so doing. Neither does a fetus talk so as to make a confession of faith, as in Ro.10:8,9. John the Baptist didn't baptize himself while in the womb, nor thereafter. Salvation comes by Christ's calling, Ro.8:28-30. Not by man's will, Jn.1:12,13, but by God's election before time began. Eph.1:3-14.
Faith without works on our part for salvation. Christ's death on the cross, burial, and resurrection was sufficient, so we trust the faith of Christ in his shed blood. He does the change in us through his spirit. What you teach was and will be for the Jewish nation in the coming age. But now our salvation today is thru Paul's gospel as taught to him by Jesus himself for Jew and gentiles until the fullness of time. If you don't understand the mysteries taught to Paul or reject it; you remain lost. By the way if you're hanging on to the new modern versions they like to call bibles which are so corrupted; you won't understand beginning with 2Timothy 2:15 rightly dividing God's dispensations of Grace throughout the bible.
It's because, sadly, he's steeped in Dogmatic 5 point Calvinism. He believes he was unconditionally elected, which is where God, from eternity past, chose some to be saved and others to be damned. Likewise, this view promulgates that every decision/choice (Yes!, EVERY!) they make was determined/decreed by God as well, because if not, then it has no purpose, and if a choice has no purpose then God isn't Sovereign. Since he's part of that "elect", naturally Grace is irresistible via Combatibilism. Compbatibilism is where God endows them with only 1 desire to do something, not two choices, however, since it's a genuine desire it's considered "free will", regardless that they only had one choice to begin with, hence God's Sovereignty and Determinism remains intact. Finally, if they've been unconditionally elected, and irresistibly called, that means that their faith isn't a response to God per se, but rather, it came directly from God. In other words, Faith is a gift that God must decree someone to receive, and only the "elect" receive it. Their is no Whosoever will; only the "elect" who were predetermined from eternity past. Therefore, if God gave them faith, then naturally and without question their life will demonstrate faith of the highest quality and maturity which ALWAYS leads to a life dominated by holiness and fruit, aka, Perseverance of the Saints.

I agree as I know scripture too well not to. However, at the same time I struggle with the whole narrative. In other words, if I take a bullet for someone else that person is saved from what would have most likely been death. Even if they spit on my dead body and never do anything in the positive since other than being glad that it was me and not them, well that person is still saved as saved can be from the consequences of a bullet. Or, let's say I gave them a million dollars which redeemed them from all their debt. Now they did choose to accept the money gladly but however, did nothing in return other than continue serving selfish motives. Assuming they did pay off all their debt, they still have redemption in that since. No matter how they lived from their forward they are redeemed.
@@onlymyself7225 What must be inclusively recognized in series with the purpose of the New Covenant is the inclusive application of sanctification which replaced the mechanics [letter] of the Law (Rom 6:22-23; 8:3-4; Heb 9:15-28). Thus, with a discerning working knowledge of scripture, we can fairly reason that the principle of sanctification has superseded the system / operation of the Law through the application and nature of grace by which we are saved. Thus, this holds true regardless of what theological leanings we may adhere to concerning sanctification / salvation. No, not a prerequisite for justification as the process on earth is not a perfect process (Jms 3:2). Rather, it is an inclusive, trial and error process / consequence (1 Cor 13:10; Phil 3:12). The two principles of Law and Sanctification contrast one another just as the two conditions of generated [a new creation] and non-generated contrast each other relative to their strength (Rom 7:6, 8:2-4; 2 Cor 3:6). “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things have become new.” 2 Cor 5:17. There is a question not to be neglected and that is; what is our standard, the nature of the Law which is death or the newness of the Spirit which is life (2 Cor 3:6)?
@@onlymyself7225 you’re missing the point per usual. Faith without worms is dead meaning your life will look differently than the person who puts worms behind their faith…does not mean you are not saved or a believer. Stop mixing two separate topics
Salvation is a free gift.. that will cost you everything. Jesus died for your sins.. so that you can attempt to be justified by making him Lord (keeping the law). By grace through faith.. as long as you're good enough. 🤔..uh, I still got questions. Here's one: can you still receive eternal life by grace through faith or do you have to become a disciple (which is costly) to be saved? Isn't that an exchange? Does faith mean just believing that Jesus was the eternally existing son of God who paid for your sins, or does faith mean that we believe that Jesus paid for our way only partially and we need to cover down the rest by at least trying hard to love Him or else He sends us to hell? How do you know if you've made Him Lord enough, turned from sins enough, or loved Him enough to get into heaven?
Sounds like repackaged works salvation, discipleship is not the same salvation. None of these false prophets can tell you how many works you have to do to be saved.
I believe this. People take a few words from Romans and think that’s it. James is also in the New Testament so is Peter so is John. So is Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. And if you actually read all of Paul you will see he always follows up the by faith alone stuff with a reminder that he’s not giving out a license to sin.
This is very confusing. I suggest you listen to Hank Lindstrom he has passed away. He talks about lordship salvation that makes it very understandable.
When parents accept the Full Lordship Reformed 5-point Calvinist salvation! This is how they teach their kids about it. Little Johnny, God has predestined the minority of people to be saved and go to heaven forever, and He has predestined the majority of people to be eternally damned and burn in the fires of hell. We have no idea, little Johnny, if God has predestined you to be forever damned or forever saved. We love you, little Johnny, but we accept the fact that God might not love you, and that He may have plans to send you to hell for your future sins. If you do find yourself one day burning in hell because He hasn’t elected to save you, just remember that we will always love you, even if God hates you. Take comfort knowing that we are not like God. We will be in heaven forever only because we were unconditionally chosen for salvation before we were born. That would be the only reason that we won’t be in hell with you if you find yourself there. It won’t be because of anything we did. So also take comfort in knowing that. It may not seem fair, but who are we to judge God? So again, if you find yourself in hell, remember that we will always love you as we forever worship the God who loved us but who hated you, the God who sent His Son to die for us but not for you. Please, we ask, don’t let it bother you-if you find yourself in hell-that we love the God who hated you and showed you no mercy. We must accept the fact that God is sovereign, and He does what He pleases. My dear beloved Calvinist, will you teach that to your children or grandchildren? I suspect that your answer will be “never.” But why not? Why would you ever hide the wonderful “doctrines of grace,” the “Bible truth,” from your own children or grandchildren? TRUTH IN LOVE PS Lord ship salvation is an invented term NOT in the Bible. It is part of the greater Cult called Calvinism!
Yeah… that’s completely inaccurate to the reformed tradition. Reformed belief hinges on covenant theology which means we shall raise our children within the covenant and expectation they will be saved by God’s grace
@@josephbruce5177 Yes exactly like I stated in the little Johnny story! Exactly! Calvinist's have another doctrine " Covenant children" where Calvinist parents are guarantee elect children! This is the exact type of teaching that brings these results. The Gospel of salvation is found in 1Cor.15:1-4. We are saved by trusting in Christ's precious shed blood alone for redemption. I have seen you on other threads. I am going to be praying for you. Please make sure to read your KJ Bible. There are many false teachers out there, such as this one, trying to get you to trust in your own works for salvation, rather than Christ's imputed righteousness. The moment you believe the Gospel (that Christ died to pay for all your sins, past present and future), you are sealed with the HS who will teach and guide you in all things. Lordship salvation is unbiblical. Jesus is not only the passover lamb, He is also the Sabbath, which means rest. Once you trust the blood of Christ, you will rest and be comforted. I hope this helps brother.🩸✝🙏💜
Have you changed since you believed? Do you know that Christ lives inside of you? You cannot look for a Spiritual evidence without the Spirit. A mental assent gospel, a confession of mere words, without a knowing Christ is in you, is a meaningless “assurance”. 2 Corinthians 13:5 Romans 8:9 2 Corinthians 3:17 You are to live a Holy Life. You have no license to sin. Luke 6:46-49. John 15:1-11. Hebrews 12.
@endtimesareuponus8930 The will of an unbeliever is bound by sin. He is a slave to sin. His will is not free unless the Holy Spirit enables his will FIRST.
No scriptural basis for lordship salvation. It assumes so much about what a saved man will do, all the while judging others. It is essentially works to get saved. The Bible tells each Christian to make his(own) calling and election sure. Not another’s. Stay in your lane. And yes, I believe once truly saved, always truly saved.
T.W.I.T. I would agree however when we read passages such as Rom 12:1 & Eph 4:22; Col 3:8-10 and other relative passages, although the word repent is not used we find the very objective (and essence) being emphasized. If you think about it, the very idea of repentance is at the core of sanctification which I don't see according to scripture any saved person being exempt from. I mean it's like salvation and sanctification are two inseparable objectives. In other words, its like saying you cant have the cause without the effect. Now we may not live up to the standard but it is never the less emphatically handed to us in scripture. What say you?
Well you’ve shown that you really don’t understand so-called “easy believeism” and have provided evidence that you may not actually fully understand lordship salvation.
While I agree with your arguments and conclusions, calling the other side "easy believism" gives a pejorative connotation. I believe this is not helpful in winning people over to this truth.
I’m afraid this is the first time I have had to disagree with you. You are doing what people have been doing since Chrst ascended and that is adding to and complicating the Gospel. Salvation comes from believing and trusting that Christ took on God’s wrath for our sin IN OUR PLACE. There is nothing we have to add to that. If you think there is, you are essentially telling Christ that what He did on the cross was not sufficient and that you are going to “help” Him complete it. It boils down to this: You either believe the gospel or you don’t. If you believe that you need to add to it to make it valid, then you are not trusting in Christ and are therefore, unfortunately not saved. Please place your faith in Christ and Christ alone for your salvation and leave all the legalism out of it.
Im Glad I study myself this is confusing 😕 Your not saved by works but you need works to prove your saved ??? This is why the church is in apostasy right now and self righteous, they mix discipleship with Salvation Salvation is a free gift to all who believe promised by God who cannot lie or change his mind once he makes a promise. But serving God and doing all he commands is discipleship, takes time and growth its not easy
Jesus said if you die in your sins where i am ye cannot come. The bible says If you speak not according to this word it is because there is no light in you. Do you speak according to gods word. Are you a doer of Gods word. If not why do you call Jesus Lord.
DONT BE DECEIVED John 11:25-26 25 - Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: 26 - And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die.
Lordship salvation is total heresy. You guys love to take the free gift of salvation and make people work for salvation. You dont distinguish salvation from discipleship. Judas was a disciple but unsaved. The thief on the cross had salvation but wasnt a disciple. Guess who is in heaven and who is not?
Amen Fred how can they not see this, have to pray they see the light before they stand before him and start claiming their " good" life as even part of why they should be saved.
Lordship Salvation, means that we recognize Him for who He is and give Him the honor that He is due by surrendering to Him in obedience. He has earned it; He is worthy of it. Ultimately, this is how our walk with Christ should begin, by recognizing and confessing that He is Lord. This is how salvation is obtained, by this very recognition. Romans 10:9-10 If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved. No one will enter heaven without declaring Jesus is Lord. Everyone will say it on judgment day.

There is no such thing as " easy believizm" Lordship salvation adds endless conditions to be saved that NO ONE can ever live up to. Christians that believe this are never sure of their salvation and are always looking at themselves and performance to be accepted before God, instead of Christ's perfect salvation in trusting in Him only
No scripture in God's word states that you must "repent of your sin to be saved." Repent, yes, CHANGE YOUR MIND, YES, but pledge to no longer sin, NO. The thief on the cross did not pledge to no longer sin, yet he was saved. We should stand against sin, YES, but doing so is not a required prerequisite for salvation. THIS IS HOW WE ARE SAVED... "And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus, and thou shalt be saved, thou and thy house." - Acts 16:31 ...or... "For everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved." - Romans 10:13 And, explained here... Ephesians 2:8-9 - "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast." ...NOT OF WORKS.
They were claiming that they deserved a spot due to works. When God wants our hearts and to know us personally. We know him personally when we obey him and seek him. Faith produces relationship first, good works second. It's not either or. It's both. Read the book of James.
@@Samuelovesthelord we know him personally when we humbly admit that we could never obey to God's standard and we are sinners and only Christ's sacrifice for us is what we can claim.
@@jjjj-ss8dq We can't obey it perfectly but if we never allow the Lord to work on our hearts and be born again which means to have new desires and seek after the Lord's will and plan for our life then we deceive ourselves if we say we are saved. Only those who do the father's will can inherit the Kingdom of God. That is what that verse says. So yes it isn't about our works or what we do, it is about the good works that God has planned for us in advance and walking in them. We won't obey every time and follow in every good work but it is clear that if we don't bear fruit then we can be cut off. John 15:2
@@Samuelovesthelord " born again" is a spiritual rebirth not fleshly, it is how God sees believers in christ. It's our positional standing with God as forgiven. Also we see it says "all things have changed", not you should see some changes in your life. This evidenced in luke 13 were the pharisee spoke of his good life, lack of sin etc, and the tax collector simply said lord have mercy on me a sinner, and says he was the one justified.
@KTTGHMTJWYCBLAC you didn't address why it says " all things have changed" instead of some things. Also the basis for my claim to faith is that my only hope is christ and his finished work.
well this guy quotes a lot of scripture. all taken out of context. he failed to quote this one tho "But to him who does not work but believes on Him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is accounted for righteousness, just as David also describes the blessedness of the man to whom God imputes righteousness apart from works:" Romans 4:5-6
The many quotes, especially those taken from Matthew 7, are presented in a way that Jesus would not agree with. Please read the entire passage. Among other problems in the arguments presented in this video, this mis-use of the words of Jesus gives away the issues with what is being argued for.
If a believer makes a sincere confession of faith in Jesus and genuinely repents of their sin, it will naturally follow that they'll _want_ to make Christ the lord of their lives. It doesn't mean that they _must,_ it just means that they _probably_ will.
Either He is your Lord or you're lost.
@janainaribeiro3892oh it’s common sense.
The thief on the cross kept coming to my mind.
Hebrews 11:1 says: "Now faith is the ASSURANCE of things hoped for, the CONVICTION of things not seen."
I don't know that I'm saved because I'm a changed man, I know I'm a saved man because Christ died for me.

We ourselves cannot follow the Law (no one could but God himself) but the sacrifice of Christ, once we have faith in him, gives us salvation.
The Holy Spirit then enables us to walk righteously in repentance & sanctification.

You cannot change UNTIL you believe in JC as your salvation. At that moment the Holy Spirit indwells you enabling you to defeat sin.
What does faith in christ mean to you friend. What does belief in christ look like to you. Please be as detailed as possible.
There is nothing in that passage to indicate that the wicked servants were ever saved and servants of the Most High. It is a parable and addressed to Israel pertaining to the Gospel of the Kingdom not the Gospel of the Grace of God for this present dispensation.

We are not saved by behaving but believing.

By the deeds of the law, no flesh shall be justified.

Jesus was clearly stating that even though these people did works they were not going to be allowed into heaven.
This is literally what the Church has taught... since the beginning....

@@boedye You know, I don't think I'll do that while people are corrupting the most important message in the world. It's clear you're on the wrong side of this issue. Just keep your wicked thoughts to yourself. Lordship salvation is HERESY and you're not right with God if you believe it. Calm down? That shows how backslidden you really are.

@@randyd9805 You are screaming so loudly, you missed the entire point of my initial post.
The fact that Jesus came, his life and events were a turning point in history . He
said we should carry our crosses and follow him,as this world is fallen and we all have a cross (diffucilties etc ) .
Jesus freed as from the bondage and carries all the burden .
Thank you our brother for a wonderful exegesis on what it really means to be "CARRYING THE CROSS OF CHRIST YAHSHUA. HalleluYAH 🙏🙏🙏🥰🥰🥰".
Be careful. Lordship Salvation is a works-based salvation, which is antichristian.
We are saved by grace through faith.
You said it! We SHOULD do the same… but it isn’t a requirement to be saved!
wE SHOULDN'T DO THE SAME, WE SHOULD STRIVE TO DO SO. wE CAN'T POSSOÍBLY BE LIKE He, who was preparing his incarnation in a human body loong before be was born and is a big spirit, not a human being.
Amen!
DONT BE DECEIVED
John 11:25-26
25 - Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:
26 - And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die.
Consider:
John 3:36 -- Uses belief and works interchangeably.
Jesus : Whoever hears my words and DOES NOT DO THEM, I will tell you what he is like (paraphrase of the builder and the house on the foundation)
John 14:12-15
John 14:21
John 14:23
John 8:21-47
I urge you, strongly strongly, read those passages and look at the interplay between faith and works.
@endtimesareuponus8930 great response! Thanks for that insightful comment 👏🙄
Luke 23:39-43 (NASB95)
One of the criminals who were hanged there was hurling abuse at Him, saying, “Are You not the Christ? Save Yourself and us!
But the other answered, and rebuking him said, “Do you not even fear God, since you are under the same sentence of condemnation?
“And we indeed are suffering justly, for we are receiving what we deserve for our deeds; but this man has done nothing wrong.”
And he was saying, “Jesus, remember me when You come in Your kingdom!”
And He said to him, “Truly I say to you, today you shall be with Me in Paradise.”
Your not saved if you think you have to repent and work to be saved lol

(Good news)✨
[1 Corinthians 15:1-4]🎉
Jesus Christ shed His blood for ALL of our sins past, present, and future.
He was buried, resurrected and rose again on the third day, according to the scriptures.
We are saved by Grace through Faith in Jesus Christ Alone, not of our works, so nobody can boast!
It is Amazing Grace, something we did not and cannot earn, and something we do
not deserve.
God gave His only begotten son, (uniquely born of God, eternally existing before His human birth) that whosoever (anyone) believes in Him, shall not perish, but have eternal life.
How to be saved?
1. Admit you are a sinner, in need of the saviour, Jesus Christ.
2. The moment you put your faith and trust in Jesus Christ alone to save you from
death, you are sealed until the day of redemption. You are protected, cannot lose
your salvation, justified by the blood of Christ, and Rapture Ready!
(which is going to happen at any moment!)
So we can't know whether we are saved or not until we die?
John 3:16 KJV
Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.
John 5:24 KJV
And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.
John 6:35 KJV
This is the bread which cometh down from heaven, that a man may eat thereof, and not die. I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever: and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.
John 6:50-51 KJV
Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day.
John 6:54 KJV
and I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand.
John 10:28-29 KJV
Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: and whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?
John 11:25-26 KJV
I will ask you the same question. Do you believe this? Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ while you still can.
You can never lose eternal life. It is a free gift from God. Not of works.
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: not of works, lest any man should boast.

We should NEVER get discouraged, even Peter denied Jesus our of fear/weakness. When Jesus returned He didn't even say to his closest people-why you denied me? He said- have peace. He knew even his closest people will betray Him. 😃❤️
@@emmat7910 Being a Christian, there is so much to consider. The doctrine/understanding of sanctification is essential.
See this verse:
Romans 8:30 (NKJV): 30 Moreover whom He predestined, these He also called; whom He called, these He also justified; and whom He justified, these He also glorified.
He rightly criticizes DECISIONAL REGENERATION, but then turns right around and embraces DECISIONAL REPENTANCE!🤣
Repentance is a change of heart wrought by God. It happens slowly over a lifetime, not instantly by man "making a TOTAL commitment."

An excellent and very biblical answer. Thank you
I could not disagree more.
Amen brother!
Matthew 10:8
Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give.
It still is freely received and freely given though Paul. Even repentance from sin is a gift granted by God in the gospel of Jesus Christ His Son reading from Acts 11:18.
Acts 11:18
When they heard these things, they held their peace, and glorified God, saying, Then hath God also to the Gentiles granted repentance unto life.

How can a gift come with " strings atached",?

Jesus Christ calls disciples to Himself and each must follow Him, no matter what: each must give up their rights to family, friends, a “normal” worldly life and prepare themselves for the possibility of loss of all things, suffering, persecution, & death in order to follow Him. He must become the Lord of your life.

This video appears to distill the Lordship salvation teaching, but also seems to narrow it down to the idea of “repentance and believe” probably because of MacArthur’s book.
They created a false dichotomy between “lordship salvation” and something they made up called “easy believe-ism.”
They then knockdown their made up opposition to elevate their works based salvation.

2 Corinthians 5:17 & Ephesians 2:8-9.

Eph.1:3-14.
Is He making a case for truth about Lordship salvation or no?? I'm.confused
The Bible absolutely teaches Lordship salvation.
Why do we keep arguing about what’s the minimal necessary for salvation?
He said a person is saved before they have any good works. Then he says a person not saved unless they have good works. ?????

Faith without works is absolutely dead just as the body with out the spirit is dead , anyone refuting this is coming against God's word not man
@@onlymyself7225 What must be inclusively recognized in series with the purpose of the New Covenant is the inclusive application of sanctification which replaced the mechanics [letter] of the Law (Rom 6:22-23; 8:3-4; Heb 9:15-28).
Did i hear right, he said peter was never born again???

Did he say Simon Peter was not born again at step nine?
No.
So assurance is not a guarantee… what counts as sufficient evidence of salvation?
Have you changed since you believed? Do you know that Christ lives inside of you? You cannot look for a Spiritual evidence without the Spirit. A mental assent gospel, a confession of mere words, without a knowing Christ is in you, is a meaningless “assurance”.

It's another gospel
Good point
Lordship front-loads and back-loads the Gospel with command keeping. Protestants didn't fall far enough away from the Roman tree.
this seems like an issues of overthinking some things
I think it’s Luke 14:33, not Luke 14:32
It is not for man to grade another man’s paper. Jesus knows who is and who is not his sheep.
So based on what you said, Steve Lawson was never a Christian because he lived in a state of an affair for over 5 years

John 11:25-26
25 - Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:
26 - And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die.
Lordship salvation is total heresy. You guys love to take the free gift of salvation and make people work for salvation. You dont distinguish salvation from discipleship.

"For everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved." - Romans 10:13
And, explained here...
Ephesians 2:8-9 - "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast." ...NOT OF WORKS.
"Evidence of faith" is exactly what the lord lord poeple were claiming.
The whe point of not being able to go back into our mothers womb is that would be the only way we could change our flesh.
