    I really enjoyed your video, I'm and American that has lived in China for 16+ years and purchased my first Chinese brand car, the Li Auto L7 Max about 4 months ago. Words can't express how much I absolutely love this car. The tech is amazing, the ride is so smooth with the air suspension and I can't even begin to describe how comfortable it is to drive. I basically use the all electric driving mode since most of the time I'm driving in the city but for the few times I made long trips it's nice to have the 1,000km range when driving in Hybrid mode. Similar to your L8 I went with the 21" wheels and I think it gives the car a nicer look. I completely agree with the title of your video .... This car would Smash the US Sales Chart !!!!!

    We bought the L8 Pro. The AD driving is much better then the review tbh. You can fiddle with the settings to make it stop closer to the vehicle in front and it's much more responsive and "natural". The overtake is the only annoying part of the AD. Great review overall. Loving me L8 and even though I drive in Beijing, it's fun, comfortable and a very enjoyable.

      Glad you're enjoying your L8, it is a great car. I just found that on many occasions it waited until right behind the car in front then thought about it a bit then eventually overtook. If you like maintaining momentum as I do it's just a bit annoying, but most ADAS systems are reactive rather than proactive which is their biggest failing. Overall a great car, I enjoyed it very much.

I looked at Tesla and lexus in comparison, LI auto is better than lexus and of course tesla. For the price of model Y, you can have this car that can travel 1400 km on a single tank of gas. Which came first, the L8 (or perhaps L9 is an even better example) or the Xpeng G9? The exterior looks fairly similar to me, and so does the 2 screen interior. I find that many of the Chinese EVs share many design elements, although there are lots of exceptions of course (like Hongqi and HiPhi).

    • @InsideChinaAuto
      @InsideChinaAuto  Год назад +2

      Sure. I believe the L9 came first (and the same design goes for L8 and L7) though G9 was very shortly after so no chance to copy, it's just that Chinese consumers demand many screens and there's no point putting a 15-inch screen behind the steering wheel so they put one where it would go normally and another for the passenger.

      Good timing indeed. You don't ever have to plug it in. You can if you want to never use fuel but if you don't have charging at home, no problem. The engine charges the battery, that's all it does, essentially giving you the EV driving experience with the longer range of fuel.

      @@InsideChinaAuto You reviewed the car, did you not take a closer look? FYI, the Chinese have never made an internal combustion engine of their own design. Of the 200+ Chinese car manufacturers, the majority use either Isuzu or Mitsubishi engines and transmissions, licensed or copied, same goes for platforms. Chinese car makers assemble cars like they assemble phones, parts bin manufacturing.
      I stand corrected, the 1.5 designated CE15F is manufactured by Xinchen China Power made under licence from *PSA Peugeot Citroën BMW*

      It's made pretty clear in the video this is an extended range electric vehicle, which means it has an electric drivetrain supported by an onboard engine for extended range. The car can be operated purely electrically without any fuel if desired, so while it may not be the most efficient setup, it can technically be an EV.

      hybrid is not an EV? why do they receive the same amount of tax credits/benefits then? like it or not it s still considered an EV even if it is not a fully EV.

      I don't have any contact with "China", whoever this is. I'm here in my own back presenting the picture of what's going on. Don't trust me? Then go read some articles from the journalists who came over for the Shanghai Auto Show last month and see how surprised they were. I can only help give you a soft landing for when these cars arrive.
