Usually an led bulb with an external driver is better for heat management and longevity, while the led bulb itself will deal its own heat, and the heatsink and cooling fan pull the heat away from the led diode. But this is surprise that they are going to for all in one style. Not a bad thing.
Yeah. I was surprised to see no external driver when I bought my 9005 set. The H13 set for my Ford Escape came with external drivers, both are SYLVANIA.
One thing not considered is the lower wattage and higher efficiency of the Sylvania, which means means they shouldn't run as hot as some of the other LED brands. That should help greatly for not needing an external driver
@@bosshawg7427 Yeah, 18 watts isn’t much compared to other brands which is around 30 watts. And honestly, it doesn’t matter how much power you have. It’s all about your headlight housings.
@Joshtheweatherman honestly, most other brands are too bright for what the average user is putting them in. It's rare to see consumers or even reviewers chart halogen to led power ratios. For this, I believe despite the popularity of amazon and other company's popularity on brightness, Sylvania actually got it right
Either u want to wait until the haliegn bulb degrades and goes out, or just want to replace it sooner with super bright led, these are the way to go. They mimic the same beam pattern as oem. And that’s important. 😊
@@haydenbroczkowski8790 is the O-ring thicker than the oem halogen bulbs? I would recommend Lasfit - LA plus or LC plus led bulbs. LA plus $70 and LC plus is $50. They are 2 and of half to 3 girls brighter than stock and definitely brighter than sylvania led.
Why would you show your LED bulb installation for street legal head light? The box states for fog lamp or utility vehicle only.......that's for H7 LED lamps and all the others Sylvania LEDs at AutoZone. Am I missing something?
The ones u see as for off-road use only means nothing. We just upgrade with led bulbs and it truly mimics the same beam pattern as oem. These are not powerful enough to blind others, as they produce just 13W.
Regardless of the these sylvania led or any other greater brand that puts led bulbs in a headlight is not DOT. But that’s ok. Yes we can still upgrade with led, as long as its design and mimic the same oem halogen beam pattern, no matter if it’s projector or reflector. U will not blind others if u get the right one like the sylvania - SL.BX2 led bulbs.
@@toyotabrony Wrong. It is an illegal modification in most states. Additionally, it is 50 state illegal under federal law for a motor vehicle repair facility to install these in a headlight designed for halogen bulbs. Why do you think the packaging indicates for off-road use?

@@Joshtheweatherman for this case. I would go for H11 low beam with an external driver, and high beam with internal driver.

Why do you have the housing all built in but when you buy an H7 bulb it has exposed ends on the wires?
Each has their own different design of the led bulbs. It’s how it is.
Thanks
