Very impressive!!

I have an 05 Thunderbird that gets constant power to the reverse light, so when I tap into it, the camera stays constantly on even if it's not in reverse. Is there a way around this?

1/18/25 - I am not easily impressed and don't normally give reviews, but I need to take this time to give one. My granddaughter drives a 2011 Equinox, and her headlight lenses were badly fogged up. I looked at a few videos trying to decide which product to use. There's not a manufacturer out there who doesn't claim their product is the best. But, thanks to all the postings from RUclipsrs, I decided on the Sylvania Headlight Restoration Kit. I ordered it from Amazon for $21.75 on November 30 and it's taken my granddaughter this long to get me her car for a day. (She's 18, freshman in college, and has a busy social life). I heated up the garage to 60 degrees (it's 38 degrees here in Maryland) and started the process. I followed the directions perfectly but each time I applied sandpaper, the lenses just got foggier. I finished with the 2000 grit and was ready to give up but after applying the clarifying compound, the lenses started to improve a little although they were still a little foggy. I figured at least it was better than when I started. THEN I APPLIED THE UV BLOCK CLEARCOAT. The lenses immediately became as clear they were when new. A full cure takes 6 hours and I'm not going to rush it now. I don't know how the other headlight restoration products work, but I would gladly use this Sylvania Kit again. It was a little more expensive, but my mother used to say, "You get what you pay for". I guess she was right. Good job, Sylvania. (Side note - be careful applying the UV Block Clearcoat to the blue paper towel included. I got a little clearcoat on my fingers and the small bottle slipped out of my hand and onto the floor. I watched in horror as the clearcoat poured out. I scooped the bottle up and luckily there was enough left to complete the job). This is why I don't make RUclips videos LOL.

I just bought this product and I’m not understanding how to connect two pods together with this across a windshield when all the led connections are so close together.

Any chance the wire routed along the top of the A Pillar is going to impact the airbag deployment that may be installed in that area?

once you have the kit can you just replace the bulb when it goes out?

I just bought these and in my 2012 camaro they ate brighter and whiter.

Did our 2004 Toyota Sienna van today. Absolutely fabulous results. It took me 3 hours because I am slow. It looks like a new van again.

A few facts I should add: 1) These load resistors get HOT. On average, about 150F above ambient, so it's rather important that they be secured to metal to help dissipate the heat. If this is not possible, I always use a sheet of aluminum cut to fit to mount them onto. To go further, screw onto the sheet small heat sinks, typically used in PCs 2) One resistor (minimum) per bulb. This applies only to flashing bulbs. Brake / Reverse bulbs do not need resistors. 3) The typical load resistor is 50 watts, 6 ohms. The 50 watts is sufficient but SOMETIMES, 6 ohms is too high and sometimes too low, depending on application. I've discovered that in the U.S., almost all these resistors are 6 ohms and available almost anywhere. To go higher or lower, I've found them only in China. But don't despair. If you wire multiple resistors in series, the result is cumulative, i.e. two 6 ohm resistors = 12 ohms. If you need to lower resistance, wire them in parallel, i.e. two 6 ohm resistors = 3 ohms, three resistors = 2 ohms. 4) If your vehicle is older with a thermal flasher, changing it to an electronic flasher does work, but not always. The load resistor is one solution if it does not work. In this example, if your new LEDs do not flash at all without resistors, add one 6 ohm unit. It might work. If the LED still does not flash, add a second in parallel to reduce the resistance to 3 ohms. This works most of the time. Once it's working properly, turn on the parking light circuit. It might slow the flashing cycle or even stop. Add one more resistor in parallel. On my 1987 Chevrolet, an electronic flasher did nothing. I needed THREE 6 ohm resistors (2 ohm total) per bulb. Yet still not enough with parking lights on (needed FOUR resistors, or 1.5 ohms total). It becames very messy, so I got the equivalent resistors from a Chinese company and replaced the four resistor concoction with one.

Why would you show your LED bulb installation for street legal head light? The box states for fog lamp or utility vehicle only.......that's for H7 LED lamps and all the others Sylvania LEDs at AutoZone. Am I missing something?

I see some comments saying the finish was still cloudy or doesnt look crystal clear. You likely didnt sand enough. 400grit is very fine sandpaper. You really need to sand the heck out of your light if its yellow and oxidized. You might even need 220-320 grit. If your lights are only slightly cloudy, you dont even need to use the 400 grit. Use the higher grit sandpapers and then apply the uv sealant. If done right, you will have almost brand new headlights. You also might have some cloudiness inside the lens if you have seal damage. This cannot be fixed by this kit.

Why do you have the housing all built in but when you buy an H7 bulb it has exposed ends on the wires?

Is it just me or is the visibility distance and spectrum near identical? Yes, my headlights are the typical orange halogen so I would be getting whiter light but if that's all I'd be gaining, I'll save my money.

It looks like the "basic" go "further" than the Sylvania in the video... The color is nicer in the Sylvania, but that's it. That's the first video I've seen that actually shows that the product is NOT better than the compatitor

My headlights are still in good shape, so I only bought the clearcoat kit. The instructions describe the entire process, including sanding, which I definitely don't need. Can I just spray with surface prep, rinse, then wipe on the coat?

All in all, this seems like a good product, good instructions, and great reviews, unfortunatly in my case (2007 Impala) I was less than impressed with the results, the vehicle is almost 17 yrs old, so perhaps the wear in my case is more severe, so I would only suggest that results may vary, fyi....good luck.
