Shark is defenetly my favourite character now. His and Yumas tag duel was already really fun to watch but on top of that he didn't lose his character development and is now helping Yuma. I really enjoy it since it's not too fast a development but helps move the plot forward and spice it up a bit.
Am I the only one who thinks that this whole thing is Caswell's fault?

Allegedly, in very very rare cases (I think one GX episode does this and no more to my immediate knowledge they read a card. Could be why Atem is a compulsive cheater).

I expected that duel to last 2 episodes or 3 but damn kite sure did play it well and shark expected certain moves but failed. Even I was surprised.
Something that I always wondered was , do they study their cards abilities or when they get new cards their knowledge upgrades? Cause what we do is read the cards out loud when we duel lmao

The number Shark stole is basically Lava Golem.

It's way worse than lava golem could ever be. That's the case because it prevents special summons and deals more damage than lava golem. I just wish they included the extra 2000 damage when acid golem is destroyed in the irl version.

This one of the most one sided duels in all of Yugioh that happened between two important characters. Kaito WIPED THE FLOOR with Shark, even a supercomputer cannot calculate how many steps Kaito was ahead in this duel

I don't think so, I believe it(Acid Golem) had to be on the field or even the trap could only be used during Shark's turn.

@@greenarrow8843 I meant that his whole noble choice to protect the pendant could've been rendered pointless 2 seconds after meeting Kite, but fortunately for Shark's character development, Kite decided to waste time. With the duel, Shark at least had a chance to protect it.

@@chezux979Tbh, it’s a great card but you got to have the right deck and knowledge to use it effectively. In duel links, Dark Rebellion dragon and even blue eyes with spell cards and polymerization give me more trouble.

Basically, what happens in this and the next couple episodes is Caswell's fault. If he hadn't told Yuma to take off the Key, Shark wouldn't have lost his soul and Astral wouldn't have been kidnapped.

No kidding. Had he not overstepped regarding the issue of Yuma's Golden Key and forced him to remove it under threat of barring him from the pool, Orbital wouldn't have found it. Plus, it sounds like the previous incident was Caswell being in the wrong place at the wrong time. Always keep the concept of Chaos Theory in mind.

No he didn’t - in their first and second duel Galaxy Eyes banished bothe itself and Utopia then both returned at the end of the battle phase

Acid Golem’s effect is still there even without overlay units and it was weird. It shouldn’t have been negated when Acid Golem lost overlay units but that’s just shit card then
In the anime number card have the effect that only number card can destroy them in battle, this duel just bring false rule
About Shark destroying Utopia he used Black ray lancer effect to negate the effect of Utopia and removing the effect to be destroyed by number ( also used filter rabqua and another one to remove 600 attack of Utopia)

Aside from names the Zexal anime seems to be intact in this 4kids dub when comparing it to the original.

@@oresti9271 They are more their own characters than Kaiba or Chazz rivals. Shark is more of planner than Chazz who also changes his style more and he is less of a comedic character. Shark is also a stronger rival than Chazz who only had 1 tome he should have one while Shark beat Yuma once and had a second time where he would have beat him. While Kite may favor dragons, has a cool coat, and a younger brother he is also very different from Kaiba. Kaiba had an ego of immense size and was almost always selfish even after becoming a new man. Kite on the other hand while he does villainous stuff for a longer period of time than Kaiba (he is off stealing souls for almost half the series) he also is more tragic and human. While he may duel selfishly, his motives are more selfless, and unlike Kaiba he became willing to acknowledge his mistakes and accept help when he needed it.
