I have been taking astaxanthin for over 15 yrs and also i add it to alll my skin care oils and apply topically... I am 51 yrs old and have zero age spots and the sun spots that i did have all faded soo much!! I rarely get sun burned also.. I will never stop taking it.
@@saimakhan243 So I also do a lot of face workouts/yoga and also face massage for the lymph so I can not honestly say that astaxanthin helps with over wrinkles. But i can say that working out the face and adding some massage to the neck and face helped me build the muscles under the eyes to get rid of eye bags and i built my cheeks back up and i have no sag or wrinkles in my neck. I also use some face tape here and there at night.
Yes, it contains 0,1 or 0,2mg which is far from the 4-6mg. I take krill oil also but I consider now to buy Astaxanthin 4-8mg. :) I am just a bit sceptical on the fact that some people have negative effect on the lipido / testosterone.
The consensus on beta carotene is that it is not safe to supplement, but safe in the diet. Is it the same for astaxanthin? I take it currently to hep with Long Covid (theory that oxidation causes some of the symptoms). Thanks
Astaxanthin is generally considered safe in supplement form, although no supplement is risk-free. It can interact with some medications, which is why you must always check with your doctor before starting it!
Hi Fiona, Will Astaxanthin further cause a yellowing to my palms and soles of my feet? I already have this stain on my palms and soles from taking Tumeric supplements for my Rheumatoid Arthritis. Thank you Fiona
Hello, Would you like to know if there is any way to prevent stretch marks through nutrition or supplementation? When I was 12 years old, stretch marks appeared on my body. At that age, the body is full of collagen, and the breakdown of this occurs in an inexplicable way, in certain people, and in others not in the stretching process, either in adolescence, or in pregnancy. This is why I believe that the formation of stretch marks is something more hormonal than physical.
EU regulations specify that children aged 3-10 should take no more than 2.3mg astaxanthin daily. However, it’s important you check with your child’s doctor first. For my own children, I prefer dietary sources of astaxanthin 👍
Hello, i had a question regarding this. Im starting a new diet where i try to incorporate - 22mg beta carotene -24 g asthaxantine -30-50 mg lycopene. A day I hope you could help me with the dosage and would recommend this, thanks in advance.
The evidence-based doses of astaxanthin and lycopene for skin effects are much lower than those you’ve outlined (see this video and also this one: ruclips.net/video/rqa1sjD6qHY/видео.htmlsi=ImfvTBL_0OKaz8T2). I wouldn’t typically recommend supplementing with beta carotene because it is easy to get in whole-food form. As ever, make sure you check in with your doctor before starting any new supplements 👍
I’ll look into this, thank you for letting me know! In the meantime, feel free to send me a message via www.fionalawsonnutrition.com/contact/ and I’ll personally send you a copy of the guide
Many years ago, the Life Extension Foundation (LEF) said that combining astaxanthin with phospholipids increased absorption of astaxanthin by 8 times. So theoretically, that means that the astaxanthin in krill oil is better-absorbed than astaxanthin taken separately, since the astaxanthin in krill oil is already combined with the phospholipids in the krill oil. The Omega 3s in krill oil are in the phospholipid form (which is what the human body naturally uses), whereas the Omega 3s in fish oil are in the triglyceride form, which is not what the human body naturally uses. The human body has to convert the triglyceride form of Omega 3s to the phospholipid form of Omega 3s, in order to utilize those Omega 3s. At least that's what I've been reading for many years.

This is fascinating-I’m delighted you’ve had such a good result and thank you so much for sharing!
@@fionalawsonnutrition Youree welcome! I have also heard that it is taken by a lot of athletes for muscleand workout recovery and it improves stamina!
I read that it has some risks and is dangerous.
That’s great! What about wrinkles?

I wasn’t aware that my Krill oil supplement I had been taking contained astaxanthin. Cool.

Welcome-glad you’re here!
It’s cheap, that does it for me!
Corn oil is cheap too. Want some? I'll ship it from the states, you just pay shipping and handling!
I've heard it also makes your hair grow faster
Interesting! I hadn’t come across that
Which brands are good to purchase.
There are some brands linked in the video description box

There is some research on this. Perhaps a topic for another video!
@@fionalawsonnutrition Cool, I´ll be waiting, I wan to know more. Thanks!!
It would be best consulting with dermatologist
does astaxanthin cause breast tenderness and stomach cramps? I’ve been taking 6mg for almost two month and little bit freaking out😢
Astaxanthin can be associated with digestive symptoms in some people. If you have any concerns, be safe and check in with your doctor
Is it safe for children? Thinking of giving it to my 4 year old. Thanks in advance.

Any source on your claim that "synthetic sources of astaxanthin have a less powerful effect than natural sources"?
I include links to all the research in the video description box
If they feed synthetic version to human food, they might put the synthetic version in supplements too.
