I havent seen the movie yet, but i love Val Kilmer. He is such an underrated actor. He has been relagated to the world of b movies, and still delivers a captivating performance in everything i have seen to date.
For me, the film was about satisfaction and understanding. As an "idiot" he really understands nothing, but he imparts the wisdom of this nothingness as feelings of love and understanding. That's what I love about this character. He knows nothing, but in a way that makes him a better person. And that song at the end really portrays that fun, optimistic, ignorant attitude.

The film was about an idiot, period, perfect film role for Kilmer cause he is an idiot

Hollywood can keep it's lack of creativity and remakes. This is the only film I'm excited about seeing right now.
