I wish there were way more than just 8 personality types because in all honesty I'm getting pretty bored with my villagers who repeat what the other one said (a jock always repeats what another jock said etc.) I just want depth when it comes to villagers it makes it feel more natural and unique I WANT BACKSTORIES PEOPLE

Barold is one of my favorite villagers! He is really adorable (lazy personalities usually are) and he sort of grows on you. At first, I was like meh but the more you interact with him, the more you like him. Sadly, he doesn’t have his actual house on my island and instead has the log furniture, but I think that fits his appearance as it’s a lot warmer/inviting than his normal and very grey interior house.
Ah! Just made a similar comment before seeing this comment. Yeah he definitely grows on you. At first his lips made me not so found of him because the red lips are very jarring from the rest of his appearance, but once you get to know him you stop being bothered by it quickly. And my Barold also has the wooden interior. But he was one of the first ones to move in once I got into inviting more residents to live on the island besides the two you start off with. Barold being one of the villagers I had to build a house for by making items for it, so I think that's probably why he has the wooden interior instead of his default one over all.
I have him on my island, and he's super cute and kind! He's giving me presents almost once a week (idk why) and I like to talk with him bc he's just super kind and cool. Maybe his design is not the best but i like him for beeing different 😌

You probably already know this because of the time that has passed since your comment, but I'll say it just in case for people that don't know: being mean to a villager doesn't make them leave. Being good to them does, since it was intended that people changed between villagers more and the better relationship you have with them, the less there is to accomplish like getting their furniture. Why else do you think that you usually see your favourite villagers wanting to leave guys? Also, it's a matter of chance, so in case anyone will comment that they were mean to one and that it left soon after that ir was just simple coincidence. Most people experience their less desired villagers staying longer because they don't interact with them or because they treat them badly.
@@rodrigocaceres2879 well that's wrong.. I had a villager named dotty on my island that I treated well. Then the day came when I decided I wanted her to leave. I spent months trying to get her to leave. Everytime she had a thought bubble over her head, it would be to fix a broken friendship with someone while everyone else was asking to leave (except for skye, she was the most recent villager) ignoring her would do nothing because after 5 days, she would act like she wanted to leave and then tricked me into talking to her. I had to keep gifting her trash every single day to make her finally want to leave
@@Twinklethefox9022 as I explained in my comment, it's also a matter of chance, meaning that while the method supposedly works most of the time it isn't a certain thing. Between other variables like villager schedules and your play time sometimes one simply doesn't have luck. Besides even with your method, you mentioned that it took you some time so maybe when it finally moved out it wasn't even because of that. In fact, many people ignore/mistreat them for that purpose and yet you can see many threads on Reddit and comments telling how they have done that for a long time without any success. This method has worked for me and other friends, but if you think that yours is more effective I respect that.
I have Barlord on my island and he's a total sweetie. I truly adore him. Yes, I was indifference for the nerd when I first saw him. However, he quickly became my favorite. In fact, some time ago I had three lazy types on my island; Pudge, Barlord, and Zucker. Pudge was not leaving-period. So, between Barlord and Zucker, I picked Barlord within few seconds and kick out the octopus.

I can't lie to myself, I think he's adorable. If I had the money to get a switch and Horizons he'd be my special boy. Also, he looks so much like Terry Hintz it hurts and I love it.
For me I find the "ugly" or "hated" villagers to bring more personality to my island. Not hating on Raymond, Marshall or Judy, but more so the culture that now surrounds them. Also from what I can tell, Rodney is the most hated (I actually like him), but there is a group and user on reddit called f*ckrodney. And, not going to lie, that image of "us" when the switch screen goes black is a bit too real. Eek.
I have Rodney on my island, he was my first campsite villager. He's a pretty nice guy, once you get to know him. I don't kick out villagers just cause they're ugly or most people hate them, I embrace the villagers everyone else would kick out, as you shouldn't judge a book by it's cover. So yeah, on my island, Rodney is just as welcome as Judy.

Besides, they already explicitly mention homosexuality in the game. When a Peppy villager asks you what your favorite comics are, and you choose Romantic Comedy, she tells you about a comic about two girls in love. It's sad that it has to be hidden away like this but hopefully the next game can have something more open.

To me Barold is hilarious because he reminds me of some people I met in collage, tech house and overall demeanor included. I love the fact that he loves games and that I, not my character but me, the real person could get along with him probably the best. A little piece of the real me in my perfect island.

Tbh i think all villagers look so cute and make me want to squeal and they are all interesting to talk to and understand. In my village i have decided to take whoever i see first into my island so that i currently have egbert, monique, tammy, feckles, pietro, ribbot, flip and monty. While i did question their antics sometimes,they are all refreshing to me to visit all of them and i dont get why people are fascinated with raymond when in my eyes he cannot compare to villagers like monique and pietro who are so sassy in moniques case and vibrant in pietros case. I love all of the designs of the acnh villagers and i hope i get to experience them all as time goes on. In barolds case while i have not even met him in this game or any of the old ones i have played, i hope to meet him the most and treat him like a bestie. He looks so chubby and friendly 😊

I feel the same way about Rodney. He gets a lot of hate for his dorky appearance but I like how imperfect he is and even find him adorable in his own way. Part of his hate comes from how his top eyelids droop because it makes him look bored, but with how he has this look even when wide-eyed, I see it as more of a condition he has. He's unable to raise his top eyelids much. Despite his appearance, his dream is to become a movie star, and he can only be seen as one by people who accept how he looks.
Here's a tip: Search "Barold in boxes" on twitter. He might not be available every day, but there's a good chance you can find him eventually. I got a few villagers I wanted doing that.
The more I see people beat up "ugly" villager the more I realize this game sorta brings out the truth in people. No one, and I mean no has to always like or think something looks appealing. You should never be forced to like something or someones appearance, even if is it mean, it is your opinion. I'm sorry for those who view everything as rainbows but that's the truth. WAIT! Before you get pissed and send an annoying comment keep reading. But something I noted, is that Nintendo tends to make some of the uglier villagers more friendly and if anything more caring. I had Al in my village at one point, and while yes I had nice villagers he was just overall friendlier and I began to love him for it. But some cuter villagers in my villager tended to make some rude remarks of me at times (well not that rude since it is animal crossing but you know what I mean) but Al still stayed friendly. Though if someone gets an ugly villager in their village, no matter how nice that villager is some people will still beat them, trap them in fences, and so on. I know this is a game, and we shouldn't take it that seriously, but the more you think about it, doesn't it sorta say something about a person? This brings me back to you don't need to like how someone looks, but that is NOT an excuse to be shitty or bully them. From the looks of it, Raymond could tell someone to commit suicide as Barold tells him off and that person will beat up Barold for just existing. It says that just because that person doesn't like how you look, they will be awful to you even if you a heart of not only gold but legit sunshine. All you need to do is be nice to someone. Given how society is today, maybe animal crossing is closer to real-life then we think.

Not only did it do that but it made me think... “Raymond could tell someone to commit suicide as Barold tells him off and that person will beat up Barold for just existing.” I mean- I’m not a fan of beating up people AT ALL... but if Raymond told me to commit suicide, then I’d ACTUALLY send him to AC (animal crossing) jail. I have Barlord on my island and he's a total sweetie. I truly adore him. Yes, I was indifference for the nerd when I first saw him. However, he quickly became my favorite. In fact, some time ago I had three lazy types on my island; Pudge, Barlord, and Zucker. Pudge was not leaving-period. So, between Barlord and Zucker, I picked Barlord within few seconds and kick out the octopus.

I’ve always thought that Violet was pretty cute and Al seems really nice, and i had simon in my city folk town and he was actually the sweetest villager ever. people are just really overly mean to some villagers :(

For me I find the "ugly" or "hated" villagers to bring more personality to my island. Not hating on Raymond, Marshall or Judy, but more so the culture that now surrounds them.
Also from what I can tell, Rodney is the most hated (I actually like him), but there is a group and user on reddit called f*ckrodney.
And, not going to lie, that image of "us" when the switch screen goes black is a bit too real. Eek.
I have Rodney on my island, he was my first campsite villager. He's a pretty nice guy, once you get to know him. I don't kick out villagers just cause they're ugly or most people hate them, I embrace the villagers everyone else would kick out, as you shouldn't judge a book by it's cover. So yeah, on my island, Rodney is just as welcome as Judy.

Homosexuality shouldn't be limited to M rated games. Kids are allowed to know that men can love men, and women can love women (and that women can love men). Besides, they already explicitly mention homosexuality in the game. When a Peppy villager asks you what your favorite comics are, and you choose Romantic Comedy, she tells you about a comic about two girls in love. It's sad that it has to be hidden away like this but hopefully the next game can have something more open.

Tbh i think all villagers look so cute and make me want to squeal and they are all interesting to talk to and understand. In my village i have decided to take whoever i see first into my island so that i currently have egbert, monique, tammy, feckles, pietro, ribbot, flip and monty. While i did question their antics sometimes,they are all refreshing to me to visit all of them and i dont get why people are fascinated with raymond when in my eyes he cannot compare to villagers like monique and pietro who are so sassy in moniques case and vibrant in pietros case. I love all of the designs of the acnh villagers and i hope i get to experience them all as time goes on. In barolds case while i have not even met him in this game or any of the old ones i have played, i hope to meet him the most and treat him like a bestie. He looks so chubby and friendly 😊

I feel the same way about Rodney. He gets a lot of hate for his dorky appearance but I like how imperfect he is and even find him adorable in his own way. Part of his hate comes from how his top eyelids droop because it makes him look bored, but with how he has this look even when wide-eyed, I see it as more of a condition he has. He's unable to raise his top eyelids much. Despite his appearance, his dream is to become a movie star, and he can only be seen as one by people who accept how he looks.

The more I see people beat up "ugly" villager the more I realize this game sorta brings out the truth in people. No one, and I mean no has to always like or think something looks appealing. You should never be forced to like something or someones appearance, even if is it mean, it is your opinion. I'm sorry for those who view everything as rainbows but that's the truth. WAIT! Before you get pissed and send an annoying comment keep reading.
But something I noted, is that Nintendo tends to make some of the uglier villagers more friendly and if anything more caring. I had Al in my village at one point, and while yes I had nice villagers he was just overall friendlier and I began to love him for it. But some cuter villagers in my villager tended to make some rude remarks of me at times (well not that rude since it is animal crossing but you know what I mean) but Al still stayed friendly.
Though if someone gets an ugly villager in their village, no matter how nice that villager is some people will still beat them, trap them in fences, and so on. I know this is a game, and we shouldn't take it that seriously, but the more you think about it, doesn't it sorta say something about a person? This brings me back to you don't need to like how someone looks, but that is NOT an excuse to be shitty or bully them. From the looks of it, Raymond could tell someone to commit suicide as Barold tells him off and that person will beat up Barold for just existing. It says that just because that person doesn't like how you look, they will be awful to you even if you a heart of not only gold but legit sunshine. All you need to do is be nice to someone. Given how society is today, maybe animal crossing is closer to real-life then we think.
