hey! nintendo took the fourth episode down permanently. nintendo's blatant harassment of youtubers has gone so far that they're attempting to take my channel down for making content about their game. because of this, mod makeover is now on permanent hiatus.

Sorry they keep taking your videos down. You’re just making content on the game, which a lot of others do. It’s unfair of them to try and take down an entire channel just because of a short series. Really enjoyed this series, but I completely understand. Maybe linking to a google drive file of the mod makeover videos on your Patreon? I don’t have Patreon so I wouldn’t be able to watch them, but it would be an incentive for others to join because they get the mods on the Patreon too. Just a suggestion, really sorry they’re trying to take down your channel. (Also I probably spelled Patreon wrong, autocorrect isn’t helping me for some reason haha)

Like YMS said, are your mods taking away sales from the game itself? If the answer is no, then noone is going to court over it. They can threat but that's all they gonna do.

Honestly Barold's old design wasn't bad either, and this makeover loses some personality; there's just some key issues with it that made him look… weird. Those glasses look strange, and the overly large lips that look like he got Botox then stung by a bee.
I think new glasses and lips; perhaps a change of prescription (those eyes look like what he should look like *without* glasses), frames, and better lip care would go over well.

I like how once even a slight mention of Hazels unibrow everyone stands up for her and is loving. But when BAROLD is mentioned people say “k i l l i t”.
That's because Frida Kahlo rocked that unibrow and so does Hazel.
More than one type of problematic caricature has made use of lips and none has used eyebrows, lips stick out like a sore thumb more than eyebrows

@@hybriddemon7649 Unibrows on a female isn't inherently racist..People stood up for her because the unibrows were removed for being "ugly" and people didn't like that, people were saying unibrows can be beautiful too which is a very nice movement because in todays culture beauty standards don't allow for anything but 2 distinct and shaped eyebrows which can cause people with unibrows to become insecure and stuff.
Barold however in the west just gives off the resemblance to black face, it's the lips mostly being the problem (nintendo actually lightened his fur color because of it, didn't help fyi), but personally big bright lips on a bear freaks me out kind of..looks like he was stung my bees or is constantly having an allergic reaction? It's uncanny. He also gives off the creepy "neckbeard" vibes to most people.

@@bla9874 He isn't..his fur color was actually lightened because of the complaints but sadly it didn't change the resemblance (his lips are the issue). It was an accident and difference in cultures.

SUGGESTION. i did put this on community tab, but here i go: villagers that wear a lot of makeup like for example remove ankhas eyeliner or audies eyeshadow and winged eyeliner. also turn doms shrimp horns into fish horns :O

Barold was actually a lot "darker" in fur tone originally.
You can see this if you owned the amiibo card before his release.
He was a depiction of blackface or stereotypical African Americans in early racist media. Not surprising really, Jinx from Pokemon was also depicted in such a way that eventually they had to recolor her for the Western Market. Same has happened to Barold, making his fur more gray than actually black.

Can I just point out how much I appreciate the Mario Kart 8 Big Blue track in the background at around 7 minutes, that song is my absolute favourite out of any Mario Kart course, nothing beats that on 200cc on the 3rd lap when it speeds up🤣
