That may only work on competition sparring. It is actually very easy to move that sidekick to the side and then counter them when they are out of balance.
I appreciate the sidekick guidance, but my struggle is when they get past the side kick defense and get up in my face. That's what I've been trying to develop since I spar with some quick fellas who do just that.
This is guaranteed to happen, no matter how good your side kick, it’s never going to work every time. I can’t say for certain because I haven’t seen your specific situation, but most of the time when people get in your face, they can’t kick you with much. If you can get good at moving in the clinch and avoiding the crescent kick, you can usually just kind of chill out until you are able to break away.
Sir your videos are so cool and helpful for martial arts like me but can you do the defense when an opponent grab your legs what is the easiest way to prevent it
Unless they are trained fighters they won't be fast enough to grab them. Punch the nose, or take the risk, jump kick with the other leg, preferably low, in their own legs.
I love your videos man! i'm currently preparing my red belt and these videos help me a lot
So glad they are helpful! Good luck on your training.

Maybe that is something we can look at.

Sounds good but my side kick is on the low side
Yes, unfortunately Taekwondo sparring favors the flexible.
Like lower than belly level?
