Ciao from West Australia. Just came across your work. Funny, I just purchased this last month. It really is quite surprising , I am in my 50’and been collecting for a very long time. The classics are my favourite and to be honest I tend to get more complements on the old school than the new. Azzaro Ph is my favourite. Great work mate.
Great to hear from you - hope you are enjoying your summertime. I also prefer the modestly priced, hidden gems of the last few decades. No need to go blowing a fortune on the outrageously priced fragrances of the more modern era. Best regards.
Good review! I'll have to try some of this retro stuff. I do remember getting ready for a night out as a youngster and smashing a dose of Hai Karate thinking I was the dogs.. Unfortunately, I never had to fight off any of the ladies.. I should have gone for Mandate. :--(
Thank good Hi Karate has now bitten the dust - believe it or not, it now attracts huge prices on ebay for existing bottles of the original stuff - how times have changed. Hilarious TV advert - ruclips.net/video/_vq94cxeCw8/видео.html
Just brought a bottle of Mandate from Amazon after about 40yrs, loved it as a teenager & my early 20s, it takes me straight back to the late 70s, early 80s, love it. 💙😁
Hi ash, another great video, I've just received my 50ml bottle, Eden classic version, smells like the love child of Paco rabanne pH and tlph but less funky! A great scent, borderline beast mode, what a find at 5 pounds! Sometimes we all need a bit of the chaps guide to remind us what a chap should be like.
Wore this regularly in the 80s like most casuals, also original lacoste, which I hear is being re released. Kouros was another, tho doesn't smell the same now.
It sounds and looks quintessentially 1970's. Bought a 50ml bottle of EdT today for AU$4.99. Its top notes are very soapy, but strips back to a pleasant woodiness. Definitely a vernal fragrance. Post-exercise shower fragrance, and I think the 'freshly bathed' description is apt. The brown/gold packaging is as 70's as a mission brown fence.
Hey Ash, i strongly advise you to pick up a bottle of Cuba Gold. It's the scent that inspired LeMale. It's really nice, lasts a good few hours and was only £10.
Cheap-money wise-fragrances are not always cheap. Thank you for bringing us to those budget friendlier but still great fragrances. There is one I know for ages and that is Jovan. Have you tried it?
Love this scent, people judge the look and age not the actual smell. Can you possibly review in the future jovan musk and Bentley for men intense? Love the channel btw.
Hello Ash. It's been a while. I convinced a gentleman called Kellen from America. He has a channel called 'Scents of South Jersey'. He took my advice about Mandate. Apparently it's not available over there. He quoted me he paid because of shipping. $100! Ouch! I told him not to! However I recommend you watch his review of Mandate. He's a younger man who was knocked out by Mandate. He gave it a great score! Please watch.
Great video. .another banger frag! I use the deodrant aftershave and edt of this..the new aftershave is very sticky though. .I tend to get vintage stuff which out performs the new.. happy to subscribe to your channel.cracking. great stuff👌
There is another fragrance beside Jovan Musk that has been around for ages actually since 1969 as a matter of fact. Popular in the 80s now well forgotten. It s Sir Irisch Moos (which means Irish moss in German because of its green colour) and manly as well. I used to like it back then. Could you make a review of it please? Btw I read that Paco Rabanne pour Homme was inspired by this as it came later out.
I like the sound of Irisch Moos, I'll definitely give it a try. It only seems to be available in aftershave form on Amazon UK, and I really prefer EDT versions, so I'll keep looking and buy some as soon as some becomes available to me - it sounds right up my tree!

Great review Ash, Just bought a full 75ml bottle, (shulton) original formulation, with box of mandate from Ebay. Bargain £12.10 Keep up the good work
Great result - hope you enjoy it as much as I do!
I can't get over how good this stuff smells and for the price as well, I absolutely love the stuff
Pagan man was my cologne of choice back in the 80,s. Bright Orange in color, stained your shirts something fierce, but drove the women crazy! Haha!
Good review!

Wow. For that price it's a huge bargain. Hope you continue to enjoy it!!

I'll definitely llok it up - I'm a big fan of heritage fragrances.
Can't get this in the USA. I have very fond memories of it. Thanks for the review.

I've heard positive things of Jovan Musk - I may have to look it up. Thanks for the tip.

Certainly sir

Hello Ash.
It's been a while.
I convinced a gentleman called Kellen from America.

'Scents of South Jersey'.

However I recommend you watch his review of Mandate.

Its a great go-to scent for these less dressy moments in one's life - although, to be honest, it smells as good as many which cost much, much more!!
In Spain this fragrance is not known. Is it similar to another fragrance? To have some reference. Thanks for the review. Greetings from Barcelona.
Good review
great review and very helpful links
Glad it was helpful!
Nice review!
Never heard of this.
Its a cheap as chips surprise. Great for casual daily wear!
Amazing video❤👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼

Not available now in the U.S.
Does it smell a bit like Quorum? That's my signature cheapie.
No sir. It’s a touch softer.
@@TheChapsGuide Luckily I have a lot of friends in the U.K. With my birthday coming up next month, they can send some from Boots or Superdrug. 👍👍
What would you prefer out of Mandate, Quorum or Aramis ? Which lasts longest in terms of how long the smell lasts?
I prefer Mandate, but Aramis is the more powerful and longer lasting
Hi Ash, Just wondering if you’ve ever smelled/worn Lapidus Pour Homme. I think if anyone could appreciate it, it would be you.
It sounds like a fragrance that would suit me - I think it may be my next purchase - thank you sir.
@@TheChapsGuide Very cool, I hope to see your review of it. Chris from Scentland, and Fragrance Matt have some good reviews of it.
I like the jacket. Is it silk?
Just a cotton blend I think - Tommy Hilfiger
