    Dear Ash,
I am a member of a fencing club in Brugge (Belgium) and have the honour of being the president of my subgroup and a member of the board.
We do have a badge, it is a part of our uniform (beige pants, white shirt, club tie and navy blazer with badge). I wear it proudly on club occasions or when I referee and must say that the response always has been positive.
I must thank you, in one of your videos you mentioned the benefits of volunteering. Since then i signed myself up for extra duties and i have to say that the experiences only have been positive and wonderful. Thank you.
    Sincerely, Roel

Hello Ash, thanks for following up on my question! I appreciate the words of encouragement. Time to break out the needle and thread and prepare myself for the questions and conversations. Although, these days, they'll be mostly in Spanish. Ah well, I can use the practice. Much appreciated.

I only had my school badge on my blazer, which has been lost to time, but my father (still warm and above ground at 85) was a member of the Royal Army Service Corps (RASC). This is now included in the Royal Logistics Corps. He wears his cap badge (a metal one that would usually be on a beret) every 6th June. He sent me a picture, while sitting in the pub only this year.

I grew up in the 1960's and gentlemen had been in the war or had done national service and blazer badges were far more common than now, indeed, I remember a shop window display with many regimental badges as a child. Nice to see a blazer badge of a military bearing.

This was such a thing in my early life, I was apart of a few school teams like cross country, swimming and cricket for the school that not only the school emblem on the blazer, but my school blazer was also the uniform for those teams that had those badges too, making some of the very sporty students look like Russian WW2 officers with the amount of badges adorned their school blazer.

Thank you for the Velcro tip. It made my day! So you an store and display each badge on a wooden shield until you want to wear it! A very neat solution.

Ah, yes. I do enjoy sporting my scarlet red blazer with bullion Marine Corps League badge. Of course, the gold button mountings are likewise official buttons. I suppose it goes without saying, but one must never wear an official blazer nor badge if one has not earned the privilege.

Had an odd find at my grandfather's house when we had to sell it after he died and nanna had to go into a granny farm. He had a blazer in a dry cleaner type bag with a Combined Operations badge on the pocket. Funny looking thing with a stylized Thompson sub machine gun and an anchor. Grampa was on the landing craft in ww2 so I was expecting to see a RN badge.

I think of English schoolboys when I see blazer badges, but I must add that we have private schools (what Ash might call public schools) that still wear blazers with badges. The Canadian Navy often has such badge designs on wood plaques, coffee mugs, etc. If you are currently serving, or post service of a military group still existing today, I'd check with them as to the regulations for wearing such military badges. I dare say, many civy organizations wouldn't make a stink about you wearing a blazer badge past your involvement with them.

The blazer badge IMO should be 30% smaller. At that size it draws attention to itself and becomes the point of focus to the onlooker. Any adornment is best subtle to add to the ensemble

Great video Ash and very good subject matter. When I attend official engagements, I always wear my blazer with the Royal Observer Corps badge and I am very proud to wear it. Yes it does attract questions and it is always a joy to explain our service to the country and history. It actually makes me feel as though I am still serving the country.🫡🙏🇬🇧

Good morning gents! I must admit I have no badges for my blazer... Obviously I've been hanging with the wrong crowd! Although my school did have a badge upon the blazer, but I don't think I shall be wearing that.
That said, this was a fascinating insight for me. My family has connections with what was the Wiltshire Regiment, now part of the Rifles.
I shall hopefully see a few blazer badges, many thanks not just for the lesson but also for putting me on to another wonder to spot on my travels.
    Best wishes all :)

Not so, good sir. Like the Marine Corps League mess dress uniform, the MCL blazer is an officially authorized item, by order of the Commandant.

Just one caveat: wear only badges your are entitled to wear, e.g. your regiment, school, college, sports club etc.
And don't wear any fancy ones (like the Ralph Lauren one): it may be pretty embarrassing, if you're asked about it (and you're bound to get asked!) and have to admit, that it simply has no meaning. What is the point then in wearing it?

I think it's entirely appropriate to wear a blazer badge that illustrates one's affiliation with a military regiment, or branch of service, or a badge that designates one's membership in a club or service organization.
Blazer badges that are nothing more than advertisements for luxury brands are gauche in my opinion and should be avoided just as all items of clothing should be avoided that display prominent designer logos.
Unless you're being paid to wear them, no stylish man should be a walking billboard for any clothing manufacturer.

    Ash and the assembled Chappage
As i have commented on our other means.
I have a Bullion blazer badge on my navy blazer. It is an Edward crown version, as is still common.
I am now considering replacing it with the Tudor crown version following the change of Monarch.
As i left regular service, I took a course in gold wire embroidery at Hand and Lock. An interesting skill that I keep in my "pocket".
    Liking the Velcro idea😮
