- I thank you for checking out this video, Im just your average guy having Fun with tools. I test tools out to see what these tools can do, and what they can't do. Please Subscribe to the channel and get that tool fix here. Have a great day!
Hard working dave, the milwaukee is shutting off because of the internal Electtonics, its protecting itself from damage. its still a beast of an impact driver tho 💪🏾
for years HILTI niche was longevity, durability , they werent about speed , but in the last couple years where other tool manufacturers are more focused on speed, and prosumers are also speed driven, hilti felt left behind, so they are trying to evolve, stay relevant, which is a good thing, they make robust tools, strong, all tools die, but hilti has nine lives 😁
I am glad that hilti came up with some new stuff
That LED ring on the Hilti looks sweet tho, thats some nice bright lighting.
I agree
Great video as usual. Blessed be the barrel grip.
Ryobi bits arent garbage, just misunderstood! What you do is you run them over a cheese grater until they are fine powder, should take about 30 seconds, then you sprinkle the dust over your other Ryobi tools and it increases their performance by 10%. While you use Milwaukee shockwave bits in it of course.
BLESSED be the BARREL GRIP
Dave, BLESSED BE, I bought FLEX impact and hammer drill with stack batteries. It does not run out! It is absolute insane runtime
Duh it’s a Flex, anyone that says different is stuck in the past
Thanks Dave for the video!
I think you are right on regarding HILTI and tool deals. When I find a tool along with a good deal it becomes a great purchase, SCORE! I always look for the tool deals.
Side note, could you sometimes mention what wood species (the stump) you are drilling into.?
yes I can, and thank you for bring that up
Great Video as usual.. Also totally agree on Ryobi bits, complete trash, I’ve had their Titanium drill bits break completely from its shaft, assembled incorrectly causing horrible wobble (same drill bit set), and their driver bits look worn TF out after driving in a few torx or PH screws.. never again will I buy their drill or driver bits .. So far liking the Milwaukee bits and the Kobalt XTR
Yes Ryobi bits are trash. I got a good deal on a combo bit set at HD, and after 2 days I know why. Garbage.
and they are the same price, that is what is crazy
Hilti's busniess model is not based on retail sales or "Deals". They concentrate on making a great tool, innovation and business solutions. Also employ an "army" of field Account Managers that those other brands cant touch!
but it would be nice if they did
Also, Dave, that 8.0ah battery is too much for the Milwaukee impact. It's causing the RedLink to shut it down. A 3.0HO is plenty for it, a 6.0HO for runtime. The 8's & 12's are best for circs and recips.
I love Your channel. The best MTC.
Podrías ayudarme a cumplir el sueño de tener herramientas M18? Mil gracias MCT. Saludos desde Colombia
To me, this is less of a test of a new battery platform and more of a test of the mechanical design of the impact drive - dogs, anvil etc.
this is just a test of HILTI vs Milwaukee
it just goes to show once you add up all the little things with the milwaukee, it shows that the hilti is just there to work. on-site nobody is usually compairing what can put in screws fastest, it’s more what can just get the job done i guess.
correct, but its good to see the companies evolve to make better and more powerful tools
Not really surprised by the results. Very hard to beat the Milwaukee
the problems with milwaukees collet in reviews have never happened to me, but here in Arizona I do damage my batterys (dewalt and makita) do to always working in the triple digits during the summer
They need to redesign that collet and a couple of retaining balls inside inside of the set up they have even Vince from vcg construction tried to fix that issue
I love you videos man, it's definitely one of my favourite channels but I wish you would do head to heads in different material maybe cls or osb wood . I just believe the logs are too inconsistent? Just a thought, but otherwise, great channel and keep going 👍
that is a good point. I've been using logs for so long. it might be done for a change
Thank you for the good experiment. However, I think there is a little problem with the experiment. If you experiment with a hilti right next to the place where the hexagonal piece was drilled in Milwaukee, you can have a problem that the tree density increases and it doesn't get stuck.
Great video Dave. I currently have a couple Gen3 M18 Fuel impacts. I also have a M18 Fuel impact wrench, the newer, stubbier version. Not overly impressed with it. I'm waiting for the new Gen4 impact. Dewalt stepped up their game lately, long overdue. I picked up the DCF850 at HD, but ended up returning it after it puked one morning at the jobsite. I still have yet to see anything beat the Gen3 Milwaukee. A coworker who was a big Makita guy recently switched to Milwaukee, but won't let go of his 36v, dual battery rear handle circ saw. That thing is a beast. Almost every framer I see loves them.
Are you blind? Flex impact destroys Milwaukee…
@@athannaelanderson3806, not blind at all. The Flex definitely has the power, but until their longevity is proven to hold up out in the professional field, I'll stick with Red. My M18 impact has been rained on, submerged, frozen, and taken multiple drops from 30' and landed on concrete. Battery flew off and everything. Not a whimper. Still kicking every other ass out there.
@@michaelenockson6536 watch the water torture tests, we literally survive being submerged as well. They are a great quality product, don’t miss the warranty Brother!!!
Brother crazy deal on Flex in the states right now, If you have your receipts go in and get your free rebate. $300 = $30 off or back, $400 = $80 off or back, $500 = $150 off or back!!!!! For my friends in Canada, with purchase of a 7 1/4 circ saw or drill driver and impact combo your get a free 5 ah hour battery $200 cdn dollar value!!!!
Is not a fair comparison you if you do the milwaukee first compress the wood on the area and you make it harder for the hilti .!?
flex is pleased to sponsor gloves for this video
Where do I get some?
I wore Milwaukee gloves for years, it was time for a change
@@ManCaverTools Brother crazy deal on Flex in the states right now, If you have your receipts go in and get your free rebate. $300 = $30 off or back, $400 = $80 off or back, $500 = $150 off or back!!!!! Love ur tool reviews let's us know what's up!!!
I thank you Joseph
hilti 😍
It’s a tool life safety feature lol .. trying to stop you from breaking the tool
09:15 Meanwhile the ryobi with a simple 1.5Ah battery be liek: _oh you two big boys can't bottom this bolt? Hmmph! Look at me go!_ 😁
(to add insult to injury that entire impact wrench setup weighs something like 4 pounds + 1 oz. And only costs like 195$ to kit it out.
Both of those impact driver setups weigh nearly SIX POUNDS EACH. It costs nearly 430$ to set up the Milwaukee in that configuration if you don't have a charger)
that's why its makes a good test for the motors
Vroom Vroom! 💪
Flex Impact 💪
❤️❤️❤️
Please correct me if I’m wrong but I thought hilti offered an amazing warranty maybe even lifetime? Or maybe that’s only for commercial contracts
you are correct, HILTI does have a a darn good warranty. but that doesn't mean that some tool deals can't hurt
@@ManCaverTools agreed just pointing out that they have it 👍
the Milwaukee was cutting out because the battery you were using was tripping the overload protection you need to use a smaller battery
Actually the Milwaukee cuts out because of over draw from the battery.
that could be it as well and I thank you John
Milwaukee is too fast, too dangerous 💪
Same idiotic mistake driving them right next to each other so the second tool suffers a penalty from compressed timber providing a biased and silly review.
Then you measure inside the tool for heat on the hilti and not the chassis like you did the Milwaukee. Whats the point.
What am i supposed to buy when i cant get good information
you do realize this comment is biased right? Based on what you said, you're saying that this video is biased towards HILTI. WRONG. try aging cup cake
If you watched the entire video you will see that the Milwaukee Won in this video. I love it that people like you say the video is biased towards the tool that lost. lol
Really? Ouch. Hilti is a brand new 2022 tool with 22 volts, more IPM, higher price point, equally matched RPM, more torque, needs to take multiple breaks, runs hotter, and can’t keep up with a Milwaukee 18v tool that came out years ago? Sorry Hilti MORON I mean NURON tools, try again. It literally lost every single test even with a damn toaster sized battery! I mean it did hold on to the bit but when you take 30-40% longer to do a task I guess you need to get one thing right. The light is cool. Two points. Run it against the Ryobi HP line.
Lol
both tools has its ups and downs
That gen3 can't even compete without at least an enormous 180$(after tax) XC6 battery and weighs over 5 pounds with it installed. 6 entire pounds with the XC8 used in this video.
It lost to a 4 pound impact wrench with a 25$ battery
I'd rather just use an impact wrench to drive bolts. Any impact wrench. From any brand 😁
Ryobi tools are garbage and hilti tools aren't much better there specs don't match their performance
Hilti is the only brand that actually accurately tests and specs out their tools no denying that
@@vojnikjna30 if that is the case as you claim then why is it slow at shit. My craftsman impact is faster and more powerful that hiltis top of the line impact
Hilti is far from garbage and if you have ever used one you would not say that. Ryobi is a homeowner tool that is fine for the dollar.
@@jimdiet8534 I have and like I said my craftsman 3 speed is faster and better than it
@@mikevollmer3579 it's obvious you have not. There is a reason the rental stores use Hilti. I am glad you like your craftsman but the two tools are far apart in build quality. The Craftsman is a run of the mill tool.
That’s why I trust and use milwaukee on the job site
