Not many cars can haul a Lotus Elan in on the corners! The Lotus only pulled away on the straights; these 2 Mini’s were much quicker in the twisty bits!
Really super little ' battler ' of a Mini you all built. Plan on getting one after I earn enough from my writing. Not sure when that will be. Looking forward to my future successes and yours. Cheers!
Nick had the legs on the straight, but he was working very hard under brakes and through the corners. Ollie's Mini sat flat as through the corners and pulled away better from them. Good tussle. I wonder what shockies Ollie is using... something's making it handle like it's on rails.
Excellent. Lovely sounding motor. What final drive u running? Well matched to track, possibly go fractionally taller ? When it revs out in Top gear is this bang on your rolling road max power output revs? If so leave as is n I'll keep my nose out! 😄 . Loved watching. Was on the edge of my seat!!
The Lotus driver must have been an absolute novice. He only twice hit an apex just before the end, took many corners with something close to the opposite of a 'racing line' and yet was able to pull a great lead under acceleration. Taking nothing away from the skill levels of such accomplished Mini drivers who used the entire width of the track to its best advantage. Absolutely loved the racing by 2 professionals.
