The whole "talking to a piece of himself" inside Malware mirrors (imo) the Kurama scene when Naruto goes full berserk against Pain and almost lets the full 9 Tails come out. Only for Naruto to talk to his mother father for a breif moment (even though they are already dead, they both sealed a piece of their chakra/soul when the first put Kurama inside of Naruto before they died) and realize what he needed to do in order win the battle. Both very powerful and heartfelt scenes.
This, for me, is a great way to end Malware's story arc for so many reasons, like with the fact he dies from the energy of the Helix that itself made him as powerful as he was, him being halfway peeled from his Newer form to his Original form, but also the fact that before the final, he was just toying with Ben not only cause he wasn't his main target at that time but also cause he was the one to inflict trauma on Ben so he always had the High Ground, while here his last ever line is "CURSE YOU BEN TENNISON" showing that he no longer sees Ben as just a meer object in his way but not necessarily respecting him for that, and to end this, his death is probably the most satisfying Death ever in all of Ben 10, cause most, if not all Villains, they either get arrested or Redeemed or forgotten about, and those who die aren't really memorable and probably wasn't even characters but just some Monsters or Goons, but Malware was just different, unlike most Villains who are only ennemies of Ben becuase Ben just happened to stop their evil plans unrelated to him, or just cause he has the Omnitrix, here tho he has basically the same status as the Omnitrix, a creation of Azmuth, but he was also very personal to Ben's backstory with the whole Feedback arc, so when he was gone, Ben finally got rid of a Looming figure haunting him every time he would even be mentioned, and it was as much of a relief for us the audience as it was to Ben, even if we did like Malware (personally my favorite Villain in all of Ben 10, as an Omniverse Villain tho, he comes close to Servontus and Albedo)
About your comments about Nemetrix in previous episode. I agree that it's boring compared to Omnitrix and I think Ik why. First of all, it's boring cuz it's predictable you know what nemesis will be used vs what alien. This is like Omnitrix where you don't always know what alien Ben will choose OR what alien Omnitrix chooses for Ben Second, nemetrix aliens themselves are more boring and seem to have less fun abilities, ngl many of them feel like variation on wildmutt. Third, less functionality of nemetrix also makes it less fun, no ultimate, fusions etc Guys, Feel free to add your reasons why you think Nemetrix is less fun than Omnitrix
Just rallied up Season 2 scores Plot - 3 (Slightly less than Season 1) Characterisation - 3.6 (Slightly better than Season 1) Visuals - 3.7 (Slightly less than Season 1) Importance - 3.1 (Less than Season 1) Entertainment - 3.2 (Same as Season 1) Overall, 16.6 - Season 1 was 17.4 so less overall. Despite that, still enjoyed the season! Thanks for the breakdown, Kuro! Love keeping count of the scores for the channel!
I adore the scene where Ben forgives his younger self. Not only does it give an important message about learning from your failures and moving on, but it also serves as a great insight into Ben’s character and how much he has grown.
The voice acting in the episode top notch. From Yuri Lownethal and Tara getting to play off each other in such an emotional scene as both of their respective versions of Ben. To Corey Burton going off the rails with just how savage and animalistic he makes Malware sound. To Yuri once again with that iconic "Hey, everybody. Did you miss me?"
28:34 the only shot where waybig’s lower eyes are green is when he’s firing the cosmic beam Though this is more than likely to be because of the light from the beam is lighting it up rather than the animators suddenly realising that it should be green
I always thought Malware growing bigger was him drawing his mass from within the planet. Because, if he could just absorb the terrain, why didn’t he do it earlier. It makes sense because he only drew mass when he either needed to regenerate a lot or after he failed to infiltrate the core.
Hey, Kuro! Was waiting for the next breakdown to mention a potential error, but in your breakdown of Good Copy, Bad Copy-- You missed a single hero time counter. You eventually added it back when you did your breakdown of Undercover, but then semi-recently it seems you counted it AGAIN when you did a breakdown of Outbreak. So I think you counted the same hero time twice haha
I think Kevin absorbing way big is the same as when Gwen told him to absorb her skin when he mutated in af season 3, he's absorbing the matter of it not the DNA
10:27 I love how Malware needs to morph into the Proto-Tool from the inside out. It helps establish how complicated the Proto-Tool is. 14:53 I just realized: Whatever effect is getting applied to Azmuth's voice makes him sound like Albedo's Galvan form. Which is odd, because they have two different voice actors. 25:58 That's my preferred interpretation of how this story works. Though I wish that was more clearly established or at least implied by having the Omnitrix say 'Uncatalogued DNA detected.'
The one thing I love about Dwayne McDuffie writing. it looks like I am watching a comic adaptation, like everything he writes seem like I'm actually watching a comic book. Like I love his work in Justice League.
I definitely need to rewatch this episode because I remember not liking it my youth. But man does it look like it SLAPS. Thanks for the modern perspective deep dive Kuro ✌️
For a lot of reasons Kuro I just think the tokustar species should go from Ben's transformation height to practically big as mega Malware depending on how long they've been around for.
Kuro comments on Malware whole essay to Azmuth, making it 10 times better. "Why don't you love me, Father?" All of the extra edits made on this episode are perfect
23:43 maybe Malware was trying to absorb the Omnitrix? Although I doubt the Omnitrix would be easily absorbed, Azmuth probably put specific mechamorph defenses due to their power just in case there is a rogue one after it.
Bro what do you think about the aliens I made for my fanmade ben 10 series Phoenixflare- A phoenix based alien with the ability to use solar attacks like Ragnarok which he can also use the way green lantern uses Bearacuda- A bear based alien with enhanced strength which is comparable to aliens like Rath, Humongousaur and Fourarms Bladefury- A humonoid alien with four katanas attached to it's hands (two katanas on each hand) and enhanced agility Thunderpaws- A caracal based alien with the ability of electricity Venomthrax- A scorpion based alien with enhanced strength and a strong shell to give it extra durability and it is a very poisonous alien it can also shoot venom attack through its mouth and tail
I've already commented this in the poll and I KNOW that there's a 95% chance that you're going to acknowledge this in a future breakdown, but I really loved the return of Feedback except for one detail. Cartoon Network aired Omniverse so insanely out of order, that a later episode with 16 year old Feedback had already come out before this two parter. And that's one of the reasons I stopped watching Omniverse because I spent all of part 1 super confused wondering why he didn't have Feedback anymore when I just saw him being used like a week or two ago. So I knew something had to have been wrong and it's a Shame that some of us didn't get to experience that reveal from the proper episode order. But Network problems aside, this is still an incredible Ben 10 moment, and while it's still up in the air, I actually do consider it Canon that losing Feedback is what causes Ben to remove the Omnitrix. It just makes the most sense given how depressed and defeated we see him in the flashbacks.
with the to'kustar beams, I think what I would've done is have the straight up ultraman pose with it coming from the side of the palm be more of a "basic" version and the arms crossed version requiring more of a charge-up (holding the pose for a few seconds) but being much more damaging as for malware absorbing some of the ground, I think that's more due to Galvan Mk. 2 being an artificial planet - there's likely technology embedded in the soil all over the place for various purposes, which he's absorbing
Malware's monologue to Azmuth is definitely one of my favorite villain moments in the show. Corey Burton brings his A-game there. The Humungosaur fight afterward is also pretty cool.
Jojo also put sound effects in their oppenings during their last episode. there are other examples im sure but thats what i think of so its cool ben 10 did it too
Feedback is my all time favourite alien and the reason I love him isn't just how cool or OP he is but practically what this episode represents for us. I think if there's one thing we have often stuglle with is losing something we care about (a friend, a toy, a show or whatever we love) and it's sucks epsically when you're a lot older and often look back in the things we cherish. Ben losing Feedback was the hardest thing he had to deal with back then and knowing how much he loved that alien really must have been devastating but the shot of older Ben comforting young Ben and telling him thats it's ok to lose as long as you get back up speaks an important message. no matter what happen, never stop loving what you do, cause even when you lose something that's means a lot to you, you should never give up what's truly important. That's what make Feedback important to me and why he's my favourite. Also his design, powers are insanely cool plus his theme *SLAPS*
seeing all those Mechamorphs in one place made me surprised that we've never seen a Mechamorph upgrade another upgrade, and then another upgrades that upgrade, upgrading into an ultra-mega-super Upgrade.
27:02 No big takeaway? How about: don't rely on one resource/skill, listen to your loved ones when they warn you about something, don't be stubborn to prove your beliefs. There are many lessons he should have learned from losing Feedback.a
Yay, XLR8 is next for And Beyond^^ I am excited to see that! :D Oooh so the burp noise WASN'T there in the intro early on! I was wondering why I didn't remember it being in earlier episodes... While I am reluctant to call this finale perfect, I do agree it's damn good. Malware's speech to Azmuth si one of my favourite parts of this franchise to this day. Sure, it's basically daddy issues, but it's more complex and compelling as characer motivations than a lot of villains get in Ben 10. I don't even mind that he goes full on "I'm just gonna blow everything" at the end, because in context it makes sense : he's basically raging against Azmuth, so warping and devouring his entire planet is just another way to get back at him. Mhm.... I had never considered your theory regarding Feedback. My assumption always was that he destroyed the DNA sample but maybe he destroyed and absorbed the function within the Omnitrix that allowed to transform into Feedback? That still doesn't explain why the new Omnitrix and Ultimatrix had that same restriction, but still, interesting theory. I admit, I actually had plenty of complains the first time I watched this, but looking back most of them are nitpicks. Some of the jokes actually amuse me this time around, like Zedd biting Kevin's leg to no effect and being dragged around XD my problems mostly reside in the fact that I feel there isn't much logic, safe for the plan that helps fix Galvan Prime's core defense; Malware's powers kinda are left unexplained as you say and Ben regaining Feedback felt like a Deus Ex machina. Buuuut I can't deny that emotionally it works and is one of the rare times in OV where they get 100% serious. Plus I suppose I should give it a pass when I give it to the Omnitrix bringing Ben back as Diamondhead in Vengeance of Vilgax. Sadly the reveal of Feedback's return was ruined for me because I ended up seeing Store 23 first and so I already knew Ben would get him back--' stupid schedule order. I admit that part of me wish Galvan B and the Galvanic Mecharmorphs weren't so easily fixed if just for consequences. Buuut then again, kid show, and more importantly that would have destroyed a great part of the lore, so probably best they did that. Damn, I have no idea so many stuff got cut. Now I feel like I judge that finale too harshly. It's a miracle it turned out as good as it did with so many cuts.
I personally like the ambiguity of it it’s just vague enough while providing just enough information to let the audience come up with their own conclusion. I subscribe to the interpretation that Malware stole part of Ben’s genetic code so a part of him was actually lost. I think the not accepting Conductoid DNA after the incident was exclusive to the prototype Omnitrix and as for the Ultimatrix I think it’s just because Ben never encountered any Conductoids in UAF. Azmuth might’ve just chose not to put a new sample in out of fear of Ben’s response but Ben forgiving himself was enough for the Omnitrix to restore Feedback to Ben.
@@kermitgotthesickkicks4265 Eeeeeh to each his own I suppose. Personally I prefer when I have a clear idea of the setting's mechanics and rules, otherwise it feels like the writers can just make up what is going on and that's just lazy writing. It's okay to leave things ambiguous when it's about something that it's information that's legit not important to follow the story - like weither a character survive or not for example - But for something that's a plot-point, you should know clearly what's happening. Fans should not have to do most of the work to explain it.
Regarding the living beings absorbtion with no repercusions, I don't think it was the first time, in UA in Legerdomain, Kevin absorbed Palorfang's teeth, and other than growing some spikes, it worked just like every other absorbtion sequence
8:45 It especially cuts deep since we KNOW he can compliment an enemy, he complimented Dr Psychobos for doing an alright job with Nemetrix. Really nice that they made him compliment Psychobos since it enhances this scene
Kuro doesn't understand that Malware isn't absorbing the terrain but it absorbing the chunks of Galvan B that crashed earlier that he was using to corrupt the core
Kevin absorbing Way Big's Armor is just him taking on one alien. Every time we see him go wild, he has had multiple aliens absorbed (though admittedly in his first episode he was already off the rails before he ended up combining them). So i think he can handle one alien at a time, especially since it feels like he has to have access to the materials to use them, he cant just become something hes absorbed previously
This pt 2 perfectly delivered. Malware is great villian and his colossal form is beautiful. Love that we got the trio back together for this takedown. Azimuths speech to Ben and Ben forgiving himself is so moving one of my all time favorite moments in the series
17:14 Gwen asked Kevin to try absorbing Human Skin when he got turned into a monster... Maybe he can decide what parts he absorbs from whatever element
Actually being able to segment the planet makes a lot of sense. How else would you perform maintenance? Stop one rogue piece from ruining the rest of the planet? Be able to take it apart to replace pieces if necessary? Or in this specific case stop a giant robot Nanite goo from becoming your planet?
10:25 I assumed that the younger Ben that present Ben spoke to was the physical embodiment of the conductoid DNA and that when the 2 did their linking of hands thing that activates the omnitrix, that was the conductoid DNA being reabsorbed into the omnitrix allowing him to transform into feedback again I know it doesn’t really make sense that the conductoid DNA would look like 11 year old Ben but I feel that it ties into the way Ben views his transformations as a part of him, visualise the DNA as a literal piece of himself that malware ripped out of him
TBH, even if you use the drug allegory, I think it still works or at least it's more respectful that most drug allegories. Cause it's not "The Drug is bad" but more "Nobody is saying you can't have it, just don't overdose on it" and Feedback is used in moderation after this.
I took a break from the breakdowns, pun intended But now I am going back and binging all of Omniverse so breakdowns are a weekly again! Glad to be back and see that you haven’t left
20:00 funfact, ultraman can make many different type of beam attack by making different arm and hand poses, so in this cases I'd like to think that this is ben personal beam technique for his tokustar form, not the same as the uaf beam attack as the pose and the color is different
Well, the new Omnitrix has every piece of DNA digitized inside of it. I’m assuming with the old one, Conductoid DNA couldn’t be accepted onto Primus from the way it was forcibly removed or that possibly corrupted and primus rejects it.

Although... here's an _interesting_ idea for y'all. Not the Ultimatrix... but _the Biomnitrix._ Feedback merged with... who knows? Megawhat-Feedback could be "Echo Echo but electricity instead of sound", as just one possible example...
We should have a Kuro hair counter because he changes like every episode

I like to think Ultraman's pose would be more useful for aiming down sights or precise rays.
and x shape (aka roman number for 10) would be for bigger stronger blasts. two cool variants.

Personally I like to think of Kevin not absorbing DNA in the scene with way big. Like if he absorbed a bone he would be coated with the bone material not fused with the genetics of whatever the bone came from
On the other hand, Kevin technically absorbing Waybig's DNA makes good foreshadowing for his plot twist in Weapon XI
i mean he does it with Wood all the time, kevin doesn't transform into a crazy tree right? lmao
... OOOOOHHHHHH TOKU-STAR IS A NAME REFERENCE TO TOKUSATSU, for half my life of hearing that Way Big is a tokusatsu reference, how did I not get the name reference as well

I absolutely love this episode. Infact i love it 3000. The final reveal/debut of Feedback in current timeline from inside of Malware was so epic ❤
27:39 I just love hearing both Omnitrices activating at the same time
20:02 Definitely crossing the arms, it looks cooler to me. I also like that the beam is colored green, even if my favorite color is blue
Also the fact that X is the roman Numeral for 10 fits.
@@kermitgotthesickkicks4265 Exactly
Next episode: "Fuck I need to rhyme, I'm running out of time, ben 10!"
crazy how late feedback was introduced to the series but still managed to be the coolest alien on the playlist
He’s cool but overhyped. Ampfibian is honestly cooler but was so underutilized considering Ra’ad’s powers went far beyond absorbing/firing energy.
About your comments about Nemetrix in previous episode. I agree that it's boring compared to Omnitrix and I think Ik why.
First of all, it's boring cuz it's predictable you know what nemesis will be used vs what alien. This is like Omnitrix where you don't always know what alien Ben will choose OR what alien Omnitrix chooses for Ben
Second, nemetrix aliens themselves are more boring and seem to have less fun abilities, ngl many of them feel like variation on wildmutt.
Third, less functionality of nemetrix also makes it less fun, no ultimate, fusions etc
Guys, Feel free to add your reasons why you think Nemetrix is less fun than Omnitrix
Just rallied up Season 2 scores
Plot - 3 (Slightly less than Season 1)
Characterisation - 3.6 (Slightly better than Season 1)
Visuals - 3.7 (Slightly less than Season 1)
Importance - 3.1 (Less than Season 1)
Entertainment - 3.2 (Same as Season 1)
Overall, 16.6 - Season 1 was 17.4 so less overall.
Despite that, still enjoyed the season! Thanks for the breakdown, Kuro! Love keeping count of the scores for the channel!
I miss when he did these charts
I adore the scene where Ben forgives his younger self. Not only does it give an important message about learning from your failures and moving on, but it also serves as a great insight into Ben’s character and how much he has grown.
Malware’s difficulty absorbing the aliens now is likely a result of the Omnitrix model
Yeah, when malware destroyed feedback, it was prototype Omnitrix. Now it's the improved Omnitrix.

“Naked Grandpa!“
Naked-Huh?
“Don’t Ask”
That’s Probably the most Funniest Thing I’ve Heard out of the Entire Breakdown.

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
26:28 My theory, I think it’s the Omnitrix talking to Ben. And also supporting Kuro’s theory of a piece of Feedback still inside Malware.
28:34 the only shot where waybig’s lower eyes are green is when he’s firing the cosmic beam
Though this is more than likely to be because of the light from the beam is lighting it up rather than the animators suddenly realising that it should be green
I'd just headcanon that waybig's lower eyes we're closed because He isn't in a populated area and he's fighting someone about as big as him.
I always thought Malware growing bigger was him drawing his mass from within the planet. Because, if he could just absorb the terrain, why didn’t he do it earlier. It makes sense because he only drew mass when he either needed to regenerate a lot or after he failed to infiltrate the core.
My favorite part when Ben Said "It's Feedback Time" and feedbacked Everyone.
27:49 this reveal was absolutely electrifying ⚡⚡. Feedback is really OV Poster boy. ❤
Ben 10 Omniverse Was A Great Sequel Series To The UAF Era. Change My Mind.
Seeing this episode...... always brings A tear to my face......
Seeing feedback again in a Ben 10 Breakdown it's just legendary
Like I love his work in Justice League.
i was dying watching the end creds for the breakdown
Yesterday it was Malware milking Feedback death, then today they flipped the script
Absolutely that was by far the best part lol.
"Why don't you love me, Father?"
All of the extra edits made on this episode are perfect
Paul Eiding being sassy to Paul Eiding. Kuro the artist 2024.
23:43 maybe Malware was trying to absorb the Omnitrix? Although I doubt the Omnitrix would be easily absorbed, Azmuth probably put specific mechamorph defenses due to their power just in case there is a rogue one after it.
26:33 I really love this scene, particularly when the two Omnitrixs sync up
Bro what do you think about the aliens I made for my fanmade ben 10 series
Phoenixflare- A phoenix based alien with the ability to use solar attacks like Ragnarok which he can also use the way green lantern uses
Bearacuda- A bear based alien with enhanced strength which is comparable to aliens like Rath, Humongousaur and Fourarms
Bladefury- A humonoid alien with four katanas attached to it's hands (two katanas on each hand) and enhanced agility
Thunderpaws- A caracal based alien with the ability of electricity
Venomthrax- A scorpion based alien with enhanced strength and a strong shell to give it extra durability and it is a very poisonous alien it can also shoot venom attack through its mouth and tail
22:48 Dang it, that filter you've put onto his voice sounds awesome!!!
with the to'kustar beams, I think what I would've done is have the straight up ultraman pose with it coming from the side of the palm be more of a "basic" version and the arms crossed version requiring more of a charge-up (holding the pose for a few seconds) but being much more damaging
as for malware absorbing some of the ground, I think that's more due to Galvan Mk.
Jojo also put sound effects in their oppenings during their last episode. there are other examples im sure but thats what i think of so its cool ben 10 did it too
this was also during 2013 where Jojo wasn't popular at all, so no I don't think its a reference
Malware obtained the Omnitrix blueprints pre tachyon cannon so I'd assume that's how he figured out how to absorb Ben's aliens
seeing all those Mechamorphs in one place made me surprised that we've never seen a Mechamorph upgrade another upgrade, and then another upgrades that upgrade, upgrading into an ultra-mega-super Upgrade.
26:12 and we saw what happened: he let that loss define him leading him to remove the omnitrix somehow for 4 years
25:08 in a future episode Gwen has said that she was able to search the entire universe multiple times just to find kevins car.
27:02 No big takeaway? How about: don't rely on one resource/skill, listen to your loved ones when they warn you about something, don't be stubborn to prove your beliefs.
There are many lessons he should have learned from losing Feedback.a
Yeah, yet they always had to reset his need to learn a lesson back to square one....
Yay, XLR8 is next for And Beyond^^ I am excited to see that! :D
Oooh so the burp noise WASN'T there in the intro early on!
In MY Opinion, BEST Season Finale in Omniverse ESPECIALLY with The Return of MY Boi, Feedback
The back to back uploads are making each day feel lively 🥳🥳✨✨
Regarding the living beings absorbtion with no repercusions, I don't think it was the first time, in UA in Legerdomain, Kevin absorbed Palorfang's teeth, and other than growing some spikes, it worked just like every other absorbtion sequence
I always wondered if the spikes on malwares back were 3D in this scene 19:08
8:45 It especially cuts deep since we KNOW he can compliment an enemy, he complimented Dr Psychobos for doing an alright job with Nemetrix. Really nice that they made him compliment Psychobos since it enhances this scene
Kuro doesn't understand that Malware isn't absorbing the terrain but it absorbing the chunks of Galvan B that crashed earlier that he was using to corrupt the core
Yeah, I do feel like Feedback was like the cool older brother to Ben.
Indeed
Eh, I don't know if beautiful is the right word for Malware's colossal form :p But yeah that episode was good.
@@Theokal3 yeah I meant the design is really great not that it’s actually beautiful my mistake
31:11 I never caught this one 😂😂. Thanks kuro
Nice callback
THATS ARMOR?! I always thought Tokustars just had super tough skin!
Maybe the armor is the skin.
17:14
Gwen asked Kevin to try absorbing Human Skin when he got turned into a monster...
10:25 I assumed that the younger Ben that present Ben spoke to was the physical embodiment of the conductoid DNA and that when the 2 did their linking of hands thing that activates the omnitrix, that was the conductoid DNA being reabsorbed into the omnitrix allowing him to transform into feedback again
I know it doesn’t really make sense that the conductoid DNA would look like 11 year old Ben but I feel that it ties into the way Ben views his transformations as a part of him, visualise the DNA as a literal piece of himself that malware ripped out of him
This episode is always a favourite to watch in re-watches ❤🎉.
21:00 considering that Galvan MK II is an artificial planet, the whole thing is probably technology-based
So once again Yuri Lowenthal gains a new power by confronting a shadow of his past
TBH, even if you use the drug allegory, I think it still works or at least it's more respectful that most drug allegories.
Cause it's not "The Drug is bad" but more "Nobody is saying you can't have it, just don't overdose on it" and Feedback is used in moderation after this.
Absolutely
I took a break from the breakdowns, pun intended
But now I am going back and binging all of Omniverse so breakdowns are a weekly again!
Glad to be back and see that you haven’t left
They aren't weekly again there just sporadic to manage work flow.
15:02 rook has his proto-tool, even though it was destroyed.
Kuro's hair looks so different every single time I see it at this point I'm convinced the man has a Hairnitrix he isn't telling us about.
20:00 funfact, ultraman can make many different type of beam attack by making different arm and hand poses, so in this cases I'd like to think that this is ben personal beam technique for his tokustar form, not the same as the uaf beam attack as the pose and the color is different
Crossing arms is the original and iconic way for waybig. Cross arms is ben making an X for 10, so im fine either way
Brilliant.
Well, the new Omnitrix has every piece of DNA digitized inside of it. I’m assuming with the old one, Conductoid DNA couldn’t be accepted onto Primus from the way it was forcibly removed or that possibly corrupted and primus rejects it.
