The almost corrupt designs of Albedos OV ultimates sells why Azmuth was so dismayed over the Ultimatrix. They feel almost WRONG to look at bc they’re essentially artificially evolved for war
@@ThemurderdronesobsesdemaniacOr perhaps, Albedo made some modifications to the Ultimate function, to makes that the simulation of millions years in the worst scenario, was even longer, to forces a more warlike Ultimate forms, to explain the differences.
@Thescidishkitty I'd say they're in a state in-between the original transformation and the UA Ultimate. When you check them out, they do look somewhat transitional from both versions, especially Ultimate Spidermonkey still having six arms instead of the spider legs.
@@ThemurderdronesobsesdemaniacI can see some of the logic in that. The evidence I normally point to is Khyber having the Sentient Ultimate Humungosaur's helmet in his possession, which still resembles the UAF version in that episode
Its my headcanon that Albedo made the reversed 10 shirt and jacket himself *just* to spite Ben. I can imagine him being THAT needlessly invested in being just plain petty.
I do love how Albedo using the Ultimates again wasn't just a one-off and it instead became his status quo until the end of the series. Ultimate Articguana looking like Blastoise made me love the original form even more.
@@TheInkTank That's kinda my problem with other alternative Bens (I know Albedo is not alternative). They lack of gimmick. Like it would be much cooler if Benzarro aliens were all undead aliens, like he changes into zombified Humangosaur, who can detach his arm for example, his Clockwork is rusty so his powers are broken, Wildvine heavily stinks etc. Or Mad Ben could have some gimmick his all aliens are constantly in berserker mode, having busted abilities but not thinking straight.
36:00 I think the shot of Ben going "No way." was supposed to signify how he heard the sound of Albedo's watch booting up even *after* Albedo transformed, meaning he alredy knew what was about to go down and was in genuine disbelief.
Plus, Ben knows how Albedo likes to fight....and preen. Why would Albedo turn into Humongosaur when there were probably more efficient ways to attack with other aliens? Because Humongosaur was the first to go Ultimate, and Albedo wants to gloat and feel the drama.
and if you want a more recent example, look at Deadpool and Wolverine, in their first fight in the Void, before Wolverine even extends his claws, Deadpool says "uh oh" then Wolverine extends his claws
The Ultimate function puts the aliens through million years of war and they look EXACTLY like the result that in OV: unnatural, grotesque, battleready. This should’ve always been Albedo’s default weapon because its such a PERFECT antithesis to Ben “its not a weapon” Tennyson’s Omnitrix.
Yeah, everything about the Ultimatrix is kinda cruel and goes against what the Omnitrix is, so I don't know why they ever gave it to Ben in the first place.
Azmuth never really committed to the ultimate form it was still in testing not finished just an idea. Albedo modified it and completed it. Used a core for the Omnitrix he stole to complete it I think. I can't remember exactly. Ben was using albedo ultimatrix wasn't originally his @@matti.8465
I don't think the issue is that albedo is doing things bed **shouldn't** be able to do, it's things ben wouldn't normally do, he'd normally use an alien to stop the truck instead of turning of the controls, he'd talk more casually etc.
Yeah I think Kuro was focused on the wrong thing. It wasn't that Ben isn't capable but the approach to these things weren't very Ben. Ben is typically alot more laidback and will often go alien, Albedo was way too hesitant to do so which is because it would obviously blow Albedo's cover. Therefore Albedo relied only on his human form even in situations where Ben would just pull out an alien that'll make things easier. Ben is a skilled acrobatic fighter but its never been his main approach, he's pretty clever but he isn't over the top tech guy that'll go into a detailed monologue. The only time being with Greymatter or Brainstorm which is very self explanatory.
I know this isn't the first time we've heard this, but props to Yuri Lowenthal for being able to make his voice sound slightly different while playing Albedo. You can always tell the difference in their mannerisms, and with Albedo's voice always being slightly deeper, because he's more serious. Another good example of this is in Persona Q, as when you play the P4 route, you can hear Yuri talking to himself as Yosuke and P3MC. It's always fun hearing Yuri talking to himself
I always thought Ben figured out what will happen when Albedo transformed into Humongosaur, hence his quicker "Oh no" before Ultimate was even revealed
That's what I thought too. Kuro spent the episode discussing how smart Ben actually is and how it isn't presented enough but missed him anticipating Alebdo turning Ultimate before he actually transformed
@@Joaquin-xq5wo it even works production wise, because that is a trope of a character reacting to something that didn't yet happen simply because they figured it out
The phrasing of "I am no longer Inspector 13 of the Techadon Empire" just implies that he's no longer of the Techadon Empire and is now just Inspector 13.
Ben 10 Omniverse made the Ultimate Aliens gimmick be redeemed. I mean we got a lot of new ones, some of them got revamped. And we all need to thank Albedo for his Gauntlet omnitrix. And love the references between the series episode names.
Ngl if anything they got worse, seeing the Ultimates that went up against an army of humungosaurs, single handedly beat Ultimate Kevin get defeated by random aliens from Ben's arsenal just feels... dumb
39:27 Kevin forgot he had big chill's powers and tried to bust into the ship Ben and Gwen were on. I don't think it's that big of a stretch that Kevin didn't know the counter to that move when he had never seen it before, but Ben knows that move and would know what affects it.
The problem is not the counter it's literally how strong the attack itself was .Ben took sonic doom in human form that's fckin insane when it defeated ultimate Kevin.
@@farzamimran3960 I agree with the power output issue, Ben should have been dead. I am specifically referring to when Kuro said if Ben could counter with electric powers then so could Kevin, because Kevin tended to forget which powers he had overall.
My headcanon is that Albedo, to put it bluntly, is a theater kid. Yeah he did Ben 10 Live to make money while stuck on Earth, but the theater life took over. Albedo is just obsessed with the flair.
@ 35:58 Ben just figured out why Albedo wanted the extra tech. Because he originally built the Ultimatrix, one would logically conclude he would do it again, but stronger. Like it’s been said before: Ben IS paying attention, even though people think he isn’t. Alternatively, it’s two scenes happening at the same time.
I always thought the scene of Ben saying "no way" was done well. Albedo calls it "ultimate power", his omnitrix changes to resemble the ultimatrix, and Albedo introduced Ben to the idea of ultimate aliens in the first place, with humungosaur no less. I think all those are enough for Ben to realise what's happening even before the ultimate transformation
I think it's also cool as a means of using Ben as an audience surrogate. I feel like any long time Ben 10 fan would have clued in to what Albedo was doing right away. I hadn't even seen the AF season 3 finale and even I knew exactly what was happening when Albedo tried to steal that polymorphic crystal
Ben's ultimate forms remind me of natural evolutions of Pokemon from future generations, like electabuzz to electivire. While Albedo's evolutions remind me of mega evolution and how painful they are, like how Mega Glalie has its jaw broken.
Better comparison would be Digimon and how some Digimon’s final/mega form are equipped with weapons, and armor. Mega Evolutions still look like natural evolutions.
@@KraylebStudiosThat was just Game Freak trying and failing to make the fans dislike megas with the gen 7 dex entries so they could accept they were leaving in gen 8 it obviosly didn't work since the anime and manga adapted it as something similar to Digivolution in the Digimon anime so they gave a Ash a Keystone in Journeys to prepare the eventual return of the mechanic
Megas are cool but i prefer a new normal evo like Anihilape also stuff like Tera Types are so cool in competitive and every Pokémon can have it so i hope the megas only return in the anime, spin-offs and when they do something related to Kalos
I think for a lot of these things, it’s not necessarily that Ben couldn’t know or do it, but that he usually wouldn’t. Ben is absolutely smart and capable enough to use the Inspector’s computer against him or know what the laser thingy did, but he’s usually more hot-headed and combat focused to bother with the computer and he doesn’t generally use as much technobabble. So while this stuff is totally within Ben’s capabilities, it’s not really his personality or way of doing things. At least that’s how I always read it.
Same. Ben started out as a brute force combatant that slowly grew into a well rounded and smarter one. Ben could do the things Albedo did, but he's much more used to being combative.
Albedo's Ultimate forms in omniverse just look more sinister and evil. Even if u would paint them more vibrant and green-eyed, it wouldn't fit Ben's heroic vibe.
35:50 I think that Ben just knew what was going to happen. He understood that Albedo now has the ultimatrix and if he transforms to Humangosaur he will go ultimate. Ben was scared, because he knew what will come
I love the quick change fight scene between albedo between and ben at the end. How he switched to different ultimate aliens and how ben countered them was perfect
I feel like this and Return to Forever were pretty big statements that the UAF era wasn't forgotten. Return to Forever especially brought back Jimmy Jones, Chadwick's Forever Knights, Pyroxovores, a High Breed weather tower, and Ben almost exclusively uses UAF aliens.
So glad I didn’t see any leaks for Omniverse back when it was airing. The moment Albedo became Humongosaur, I clued in and went “Oh man he’s gonna go Ultimate!”, and then we got one of the coolest designs in the series.
I didn’t know it was Albedo until he said “Chilli Fries” When Albedo appeared, I was super hyped about it. Big Chill saying to Inspector 13 “Turn Inspector 13, into inspector 0, Absolute Zero”. Is cold. “Use to be another end in that move” is a reference to Ultimate Echo Echo defeating Ultimate Kevin. 33:47 - Using Yuri Lowenthal voice from the “The Last Of Us”
@@BeastForce141 I've always felt like since Ben is a "transformation" for Albedo, whatever Ben feels, Albedo feels more strongly (kinda like how Ben is overcome with anger as Rath). Let's not forget humans are massive downgrade intelligence-wise compared to Galvans.
@@BeastForce141 its the one thing that brings him joy in ben's body he hates everything else about being human later on he even talks more fondly about chilli fries than when he first at them its become the one good thing about being human for him
This is easily my favourite Albedo design because he's not just a Ben 10 reskin his hair is different, his eyes are different, he has a mirrored look and his aliens are darker This is definitely one of my favourite episodes in Omniverse especially with the awesome Ben vs Albedo fight at the end
I realy like that Albedo is still using the ultimates , cuz it shows that unlike Ben he has no moral problems using lifeforms evolved for war. Plus it makes sense since he didnt get the finalized omnitrix his watch would still have the ultimate feature .
This is probably my favorite episode of Omniverse. The A plot is really compelling on its own being a really cool almost crime drama of Rook and not-Ben investigating illegal weapons and even making plans and compromises to the criminal underworld like a heist movie. Then you’ve got the B plot which is Ben trying to escape plumber headquarters, out of a cell specifically designed to counter his powers. All culminating in a super fun transformation battle that shows the return of Ultimates? Easy 25/25 for me.
@@dominocut2963 I mean... Ultimate Alien established that Kevin put a few safeguards on the omnitrix to keep Alien X out of Alebedo's clutches. Maybe he put another safeguard on Way Big only without the key?
@@timedragon5492 Albedo's device is technically a stabilizer. Also I think it's safe to say that Albedo is not as much a fan of brute force as Ben is, so he wouldn't want to use someone like Way Big to escape.
@@dominocut2963Albedo wouldn't have completed the stablizer yet, which means he'd probably just turn back human not long before wrecking the plumber base, then ben and company would be on his hide. That is assuming it's ant man rules ans transforming in such that big in a compact area wouldn't just crush him
I like how in omniverse the ultimate badge has vein like structures instead of plate like prongs, makes look more like the ultimate transformations are an organic ability instead of technological. Because albedo is not using tech to transform per say, the gauntlet specifically stabilizes his transformations, and probably acts like an evolution device rather than a full ultamatrix.
Breakdown Saturday is back! I hope everyone is having a great day. Fun fact: I found a DVD of this called Duel Of The Duplicates at Walmart many years ago. It included the three Albedo arc episodes plus Evil Encore and Return To Forever.
The fact that Ben used Nanomech to escape was especially clever because of it's nature a an Omnitrix Creation, meaning that Albedo (probably) can't become Nanomech, meaning that it's the one alien the cell's security can't account for. Edit: Just watched further in and wanted to comment on the sonic doom thing. It's very plausible that the reason the Sonic Doom was more effective on Kevin because he had the combined super senses of multiple aliens, meanwhile Ben and Eye-Guy have normal/only above average hearing.
@@axelnilsson5124 Well he needed to wait for the lunch tray. Nanomech may have unaccounted for by the security system, doesn't mean he can automatically bypass every security measure that WAS in there.
@@axelnilsson5124 Maybe the prisoners only get one meal a day, maybe Ben was still knocked out up to the point where we see him, or maybe he just didn't think of it until then. There are a million reasons for why it took him that long to use Nanomech.
48:27 - I always interpreted his words as "In theory, if i was disguised for more than a few days you'd have definately figured it out". Like, i don't think that they mentioned that it was actually a few days IN the episode (At least to my knowledge) I think Albedo replaced Ben right after he was taken out, and then instantly went for Inspector 13 with Rook. This makes Rook's reaction way more appropriate, because in the start of the episode - it's the first time it happens, so he doesn't pick up on it. + It makes sense Ben tries to escape from his cell, cause he probably just woke up from whatever Kyber did to him. ALSO, their ridiculous plan on infiltrating Inspector 13's lair kind of makes sense, cause Albedo can't use the omnitrix and if he spoke about it directly to Rook, he'd blow his cover. So, there is a reason they do all of this "Package shenanigans" kind of deal instead of just blasting the wall or smth. At least that's what i think.
My headcanon is that Albedo and his aliens are paler and look more sickly is because all he eats are chilly fries. He ain't getting the nutrition he needs from Smoothies
I love that Albedo's design is ever so slightly different. Makes him feel more unique, and the changes also make sense narrative wise, so much so that I'm surprised they didn't give Albedo eye bags and paler skin in his last few appereances because it just makes so much sense.
@@mertensiam3384I totally agree, he shouldn't be trying to look like Ben, and he definitely shouldn't have the same skin tan seeing as he's been in an underground prison for months
My theory on Albedo’s Ultimates is that the DNAs that went through the Ultimate Simulation did a sorta “reroll” on the genetic phenotypes presented. Just a personal headcanon
Khyber: "So whats your master plan?" Albedo: "Ok hear me out , you knock-out Ben but not kill him, free me and put Ben in the cell instead and not kill him, change his appearence and not kill him, then we waste some time and not kill him and when he eventually escapes, we "defeat" him but not kill him and then we run away " Khyber: "sounds good to me, man you really are a genius also how tf did u even contact me "
Fun fact: When Albedo started appearing in Omniverse, there was a war going on in the Ben 10 Wiki on whether his individual alien forms deserved their own pages. This never came up during the UAF era, because that period only changed the eyes to red. Omniverse had a lot more color changes to signify they were Albedo's versions.
I had this headcanon that the ultimates looking monstrous and grotesque in Omniverse was because the Ultimatrix put the species through another simulation and got different results.
"I'm never a fan of taking away a character's abilities-" God that sentence made me think how they sadly did this all the time in Ninjago. They kept introducing cool stuff like Elemental dragons, Airjitzu and Spinjitzu Burst only to just drop using them a season or two later. At least with Ben loosing the Ultimates it made sense, he didn't have a device that had the function anymore. In Ninjago they straight up never explain why they never show the new abilies again (I know Airjitzu was given the reason of it being a dark power but never said in show). Unlike Ben 10 the ability isn't linked to a device, all of them are just some kind of technique or power they can do anytime besides maybe the Burst making sense with it needing them to be surrounded by their respective element (A fire Burst, you'd need to be in a very specific scenario for).
There's obviously no way to confirm, but I feel like the Al-bae-do change was to make it sound more like "albino", since Albedo's Ben design is basically an albino ben. Which honestly makes sense since albino is a genetic mutation that can occur in mammals, including humans, which is what causes red eyes and white hair
I prefer this version of ultimate spider monkey because his six big hairy ape arms are more reminiscent of a tarantula rather than the generic thin spider legs that UAF ultimate spider monkey had.
Albedo's Wildvine reminds me of the wildvines that kidnapped Gwen in SOTO Also at 37:16 when I see the pink parts I can't imagine anything but skinless exposed meat, which is kinda disgusting
almost every albedo design looks like improvment of original omniverse artstyle really shines here ig cuz there are no green and white uniforms i wish they showed more ultimate tho
I love the redesign for Ultimate Humungousaur. In UAF, he was green and had armor. Here in OV, he actually looks like he's been through hell and is just a husk of his former self, which is what Ultimate Humungousaur should be.
One thing that boiled the piss out of me this episode was when Ben was escaping as Nanomech, they didn't take a page out of alien swarm that made him able to shrink even smaller and avoid the sensors.
@@styko2925 It wouldn't be the first time the franchise has forgotten certain abilities for characters. Humungosaur's ability to grow gets forgotten left and right by OV, and that was an ability he had from his introduction as well
HEY @THE INK TANK! I just want to say for all the people like me who grew up watching Ben10 as a kid and now somewhere in our 20's-30's are re-living the awesome moments of our childhood thank to your channel! I just wanted to say a HUGE THANK YOU for all that you do to keep Ben10 Alive!!! Ive found myself binging some of your videos from 3+ Years ago! I know im late to the Ben10 hype train but YOU GUYS ROCK! so from all of us who were kids who loved Ben10 I just want to say, Thank you.
You know what I would’ve ADORED? If they made it a 2 part episode, the first part is Albedo disguised as Ben hanging around the base, trying to “befriend” Rook, getting actual praise because people think he’s Ben, a scene where even Gwen is tricked by it because he (iirc) shares a mana Signiture with Ben, Max giving him positive attention and him not knowing how to handle it, deciding to spend time tinkering with tech or fixing things in the base, having phone calls with Khyber who is here as a hired mercenary who both helped Albedo swap with Ben and is hunting down the parts he needs for him, showing a non+Ben perspective of people thinking Albedo escaped etc And then the second half is Ben escaping, the race to the parts and Albedo going ultimate, a huge fight to show off how powerful and worthwhile the ultimates are for Albedo being hard to take down, and maybe Kyber’s predator+transformation device thing could go ultimate too? Idk sounds cool But basically I want more Albedo moments and interactions. How does he struggle to be cordial with Blukich and Dreba as a “superior” Galvan to them? He could have experience being ill and transforming before and thus know Ben’s transformations get a bit messed up with illness too, so he could pretend to be sick so he can use his alien transformations, even temporarily (I know he still would’ve been unstable) The guy got done dirty is all I’m saying
Maybe the way Reboot UA Ben wears his Ultimatrix could be the correct way. Since Albedo has a habit of wearing stuff backwards and Ben Prime wore his to match Albedo. Reboot UA Ben also said he earned his Ultimatrix and he lacks the Ultimate forms, as if it was never stolen by Albedo in his world and completed by Azmuth to give to Ben.
I’m of the belief that Ben predicted what Albedo was doing when he said “no way”. He watched the transformation into the gauntlet, then saw him go Humungasaur. I feel like Ben already knew he would be going ultimate.
30:35 Considering the Omnitrix can make clothes, my assumption is that due to him being a corrupted version Ben, the Omnitrix Albedo wear have to make due with the corrupt design instead of giving him a proper green shirt like Ben.
I like to think the reason Albedo looks unhealtier in omniverse isnt related to genetics at all, its just that he lives in a cave eating only chili fries and didnt take care of himself at all
44:18 how dare you remind me of Quantumania Edit: I really wish that they kept Hugh, Swamps, and Fridge around. Imagine them being Albedo’s henchman throughout this and they are the ones who save him at the end. Another thing they could do since each of their species got ultimate forms in ultimate alien, have Albedo build a device to turn them into ultimates. That could be a cool story.
I think the main reason they’re going “he’s acting weird” in the first scenes is because he’s not using the omnitrix at all and he’s talking smart instead of his usual speech patterns, rather than “Ben isn’t this smart” or “Ben isn’t that athletic” Because it if was actually Ben he would have just transformed into an alien and directly stopped the truck Also point about the tecadon getting destroyed by the truck, it’s both off brand, and that’s a truck being used by inspector 13, obviously he’s gonna have tech that would be unimpeded by his own tech
ok so something that I really like about Albedo's depiction in this episode is his need to not only be himself but be better, all the gloating showing just how simple this all was for him was really good for his character, the night of the living nightmare showcased his inferiority complex and I'll have to rewatch but alot of this episode seems to say that Albedi isn't fully over that, having to resort to ultimates and boasting, either that or it's trying to say that "Albedo understands he's that guy." saying that he's over the whole inferiority thing, also something that stays consistent whith him that I enjoy is how he consistently uses having Ben's face to his advantage, during his first appearance, he pretends to be Ben, all if Ben 10 live and then here he once again uses having the appearance of Ben to his advantage, I just think it's cool.
In my opinion, Ben didn't try to break out because he was actually just unconscious for a few days. Dunno if it was the hard smack on the head from Khyber or the transformation device but that would also explain why Albedo didn't use it. It probably induced extra fatigue on your genetics. Opposite charge on subatomic particles creates antimatter which can create strong explosions when in contact with matter. If the machine does something similar as well as avoiding completely turning Ben into antimatter, I think it's a pretty solid explanation as to why he was tired. Especially since colors come from the wavelength of unabsorbed light from a specific material, I'd say changing his biological material density in such a way that's affected is enough to warrant why Ben couldn't have been awake for so long. Sorry for coming off as such a nerd, I just like to assert whatever minor scientific terms I'm aware of. I also think Albedo having those uniforms can be made sense of by virtue of him trying to stabilize his transformations to appear more like Ben but he ultimately failed because they'd always make his eyes go red as he himself claims so he stopped trying but thought it's still aesthetically pleasing to keep the base uniforms. He is that swaggy after all. I'd say for him, this choice is very in character with a stylized egocentric genius. As for the "weak Plumber security", I just blame staff like Blukic and Driba. Malware had also stolen some security codes from Rook's truck so it is either Khyber had those or Dr. Psychobos and Albedo just had bypass technologies they coded that they gave to Khyber. At the end of the day, Plumbers are all about the ethics of life as well. I really don't think their security systems are allowed to kill escaped prisoners but as you said, scare them or not damage them too much. But then again, considering their designers... Yeah... As for Rook being "unable" to figure out, I'd say he had a fair shot at knowing but wanted to see where Albedo went with this guise and what his plans were but fumbled last minute. It happens to the best of us. The ending I really can't defend much outside of the fact Albedo may have just tried to toy with the main cast or held back to continue his Fistful of Brains plot to get back on Ben and Azmuth simultaneously. He's egocentric after all while Ben can put it aside in certain necessary situations and not so much in others. The issues really lie with the pacing of these pointers out and time restraints on both the episode's tight production schedule and length of the episode itself. I'd say Ben freaking out before seeing Ultimate Humungousaur was a mere difference in your vision and the initial vision of the writers/animators as Ben probably just knew what was coming upon seeing the Ultimatrix again. Either way, in any fight, even if Ultimates are there or not, Ben would definitely have the upper hand. Albedo may know the best alien for a particular situation, especially scientifically, but it's a one at time, egocentric, computerized, methodical and high efficiency based approach. Ben has shown multiple times that he can just improvise with anything. This isn't a skill Albedo has. So fighting, Ben is just better, even if it's not shown consistently due to changing writers ever so often. He's very capable of a solo run in the entire series but they gotta hold him back some bit before he's off the rails like OG 10K. I'd say Azmuth also shows this high improvising skill in his technology invention a lot even if not in fighting. This is something Albedo timelessly lacks even there. That's why he isn't better. He's too confident in not improvising. Ben's confidence is different because he trusts his own improvising. Albedo is so lost in methodical efficiency that he wouldn't stand the thought of improving, which comes off as last minute creativity rather than a full fledged plan. That's his true downfall and why he can't be the best there is be it in fighting or leadership like Ben (or who he inherited this skill from, MAX TENNYSON), or invention like Azmuth. Sorry for the long paragraphs. I just love talking about the series and breaking it down myself and this was less of a defense because despite all my points, I went so far as to even acknowledge the staff working independently under time restraints can cause issues in storyline pacing and what not as we even see from the McDuffie scripts. And I also acknowledge that some decisions no matter the pointers can't be rated as objectively as some may think but in general subjectivity terms can come off as off putting. But I think we both line up at the part that if paced better, this could've worked much better and we all only wanna see the best from the series. Especially since you actually TRY to defend the plot points more within the breakdown itself, rather than trying to hate on it. You still gas up the good stuff. Keep it up. Thanks for another great breakdown!
The most fun part about binging these Ben 10 breakdown videos is guessing what kind of haircut Rob’s gonna have in the next one. It’s so cool that you’re able and willing to change your style up so frequently and so drastically, but I feel like you consistently pull it off
38:38 yeah that got me like that too but people defend that saying that ben had more training with ultimate echo echo this is the first time Albedo uses ultimate echo echo so he wouldn't be used to how sonic doom works he decided to just put the sound up to 100 instead of matching the frequency of ben's cells to harm him directly
@@axelnilsson5124 I think that was good way to bring back Tara to voice Ben again and seeing Albedo as 11 yr old Ben team up with Vilgax later was hilarious too as they won't show that ever in Classic
@@theamazingspooderman2697 but it’s not like it was needed as Tara does regularly appear now and again to voice a character or 2 in Ben 10 and having Ben fighting Albedo looking like his younger self is just stupid
The fight between Albedo and Inspector 13 and the following fight with Ben, are probably some of my favorites in the whole series. I love the back and forth and how many transformations we see.
I think the reason ben looks so shocked when albedo transforms into humoungasour despite not going ultiminte yet is because he remembers the first interaction between then where the first ultiminte albedo transformed into was humoungasour
35:53 the shots can seem out of order but I think Ben’s reaction is just him realising what the crystal had done before the reveal Like u said earlier Ben is smarter than everyone gives him credit for, I think he deduced that it was the ultimate forms through Albedo’s phrasing of ultimate power and the fact that Albedo is the one that created the ultimatrix and introduced the ultimate evolutionary forms to begin with
I love how they made them so monsterous looking, Ult Humungousaur looks like he was forcibly fused with a tank, Ult Spidermonkey is SOOOO MUCH better than the UAF one and Ult Gravattack and Ult Rath just chef kiss
The Ultimates in OV are absolutely great, specially the designs look great with the details, and like others have said, the artificial and grotesque design is exactly what they should have done from the start Also the ultimate gimmick just works when it's not Ben, we already saw how they were done in UA
I think Albedo looking different in Omniverse was a conscious change he made so he could stand as his own person and be at least a little different from Ben, sorta making trying to make a difference. It's also why he wears the UAF Jacket again, since Ben doesn't use it he can claim it as his.
21:36 What if this was how they chose to reintroduce Ghostfreak. Ben goes through every alien except Ghostfreak and only uses him out of desperation to get out and stop Albedo, with it only working because the Plumbers have never really captured Ectorneorites (I forgot how to spell it) and were only able to fight them with sun based weaponry.
36:11 I think he heard the clicking sound and, complete with that upgrade of his "Omnitrix", assumed, that he`s about to go Ultimate. Like, upgraded watch means upgraded aliens.
My headcanon is Albedo purposely held back the sonic doom’s power because he wanted Ben to suffer. Eye Guy took it and the sound waves stopped. We know the discs can be sent out and hover without stopping or making sound. We see him clearly enjoying messing with Ben in the next episode they fight. Honestly the real reason is we can’t have Ben get insta-killed by sonic doom. As for the “No Way” remember that Albedo transforms and there’s a prominent charging up noise. Ben sees Humongasaur, then hears a charging up and realizes what’s about to happen
I think the shots with albedo going ultimate were in the right order think about it, albedo just gained an item that changed the device he was wearing...and then became humungousaur, the first alien Ben ever saw Albedo go ultimate as you have mentioned Ben's intelligence throughout the video, this is another way of showing it...he saw Albedo's "Omnitrix" change, and then he became humungousaur, he knew what was about to happen in that moment
34:16 in the context of Omniverse, that's probably a feature of his DNA stabiliser. If I were making a device like that, I'd definitely include a function that would give me any equipment I needed to survive in that form. It shouldn't look exactly like Ben's uniforms but it does make sense that he'd program that into his device
19:09 the red color on his shirt could be foreshadowing Albedo. The color red being used throughout the episode for lazers and weapons could also be foreshadowing
Ben's reaction as Albedo's transformation as he first goes Humungousaur, it could be Ben realizing he is going Ultimate as it was the first Ultimate. Albedo making a point that the Ultimatrix had new features before going Ultimate, and Ben sees Albedo's Omnitrix change. And you even pointed out a lot about how Ben should be smart enough to figure that out.

Hehe Bed 10

Ben just figured out why Albedo wanted the extra tech.
That's how I always interpreted the scene
Ben is so shocked because he just knows what's about to happen and it isn't pretty
I also saw it that Ben sees that its Albedo, he puts something into an Omni device. Pattern Recg should mean, Possible Ultimate
I think it's also cool as a means of using Ben as an audience surrogate. I feel like any long time Ben 10 fan would have clued in to what Albedo was doing right away. I hadn't even seen the AF season 3 finale and even I knew exactly what was happening when Albedo tried to steal that polymorphic crystal
that's probably why he has the stabilizer because
1. brainstorm needs a breathing brace
2. goop needs his UFO
you get the idea
And probably it has the clothing system
I mean, he is already removing his clothes and manifesting them back anyway..... it's just part of his powers.....
I feel like he didn't use goop in UAF without the device it because it wouldn't really work n, Matter if he has the DNA
Ben's ultimate forms remind me of natural evolutions of Pokemon from future generations, like electabuzz to electivire. While Albedo's evolutions remind me of mega evolution and how painful they are, like how Mega Glalie has its jaw broken.
Why'd they make Mega Evolutions so violent 😢
I always thought the same
Better comparison would be Digimon and how some Digimon’s final/mega form are equipped with weapons, and armor.

That's how I've always seen it
He knows stuff he just doesn't see any use explaining it
36:10 he probably realizes what’s happening because of the sound the device gives off like he knows that he’s not done transforming
Ben's traumatized (or something equivalent) from the sound of the Ultimatrix it feels like.
Albedo's Ultimate forms in omniverse just look more sinister and evil. Even if u would paint them more vibrant and green-eyed, it wouldn't fit Ben's heroic vibe.

I don't get why Albedo didn't just.. use Way Big to escape. Like, what would be stopping him from doing so?
@@dominocut2963 I mean... Ultimate Alien established that Kevin put a few safeguards on the omnitrix to keep Alien X out of Alebedo's clutches. Maybe he put another safeguard on Way Big only without the key?

Albedo's device is technically a stabilizer.

I think Albedo replaced Ben right after he was taken out, and then instantly went for Inspector 13 with Rook.

That opening description of Albedo is so exaggerated yet extremely on point that I love it.
Fun fact:
When Albedo started appearing in Omniverse, there was a war going on in the Ben 10 Wiki on whether his individual alien forms deserved their own pages. This never came up during the UAF era, because that period only changed the eyes to red. Omniverse had a lot more color changes to signify they were Albedo's versions.
Albedo's ultimates might be better, but Ben's Ultimate Echo-Echo had it's own Aura.
I had this headcanon that the ultimates looking monstrous and grotesque in Omniverse was because the Ultimatrix put the species through another simulation and got different results.
"I'm never a fan of taking away a character's abilities-"
God that sentence made me think how they sadly did this all the time in Ninjago.

I love the designs of ultimates in omniverse because they feel wrong unnatural, like they were bred specifically for combat in a simulation of a war.
You know what I would’ve ADORED? If they made it a 2 part episode, the first part is Albedo disguised as Ben hanging around the base, trying to “befriend” Rook, getting actual praise because people think he’s Ben, a scene where even Gwen is tricked by it because he (iirc) shares a mana Signiture with Ben, Max giving him positive attention and him not knowing how to handle it, deciding to spend time tinkering with tech or fixing things in the base, having phone calls with Khyber who is here as a hired mercenary who both helped Albedo swap with Ben and is hunting down the parts he needs for him, showing a non+Ben perspective of people thinking Albedo escaped etc
And then the second half is Ben escaping, the race to the parts and Albedo going ultimate, a huge fight to show off how powerful and worthwhile the ultimates are for Albedo being hard to take down, and maybe Kyber’s predator+transformation device thing could go ultimate too? Idk sounds cool
But basically I want more Albedo moments and interactions. How does he struggle to be cordial with Blukich and Dreba as a “superior” Galvan to them? He could have experience being ill and transforming before and thus know Ben’s transformations get a bit messed up with illness too, so he could pretend to be sick so he can use his alien transformations, even temporarily (I know he still would’ve been unstable)
The guy got done dirty is all I’m saying
Maybe the way Reboot UA Ben wears his Ultimatrix could be the correct way. Since Albedo has a habit of wearing stuff backwards and Ben Prime wore his to match Albedo.
Reboot UA Ben also said he earned his Ultimatrix and he lacks the Ultimate forms, as if it was never stolen by Albedo in his world and completed by Azmuth to give to Ben.
I’m of the belief that Ben predicted what Albedo was doing when he said “no way”. He watched the transformation into the gauntlet, then saw him go Humungasaur. I feel like Ben already knew he would be going ultimate.
as Ben's first battle against an Ultimate Alien was Ultimate Humungousaur so it was deja vu for him

Edit: I really wish that they kept Hugh, Swamps, and Fridge around. Imagine them being Albedo’s henchman throughout this and they are the ones who save him at the end. Another thing they could do since each of their species got ultimate forms in ultimate alien, have Albedo build a device to turn them into ultimates. That could be a cool story.
I think the main reason they’re going “he’s acting weird” in the first scenes is because he’s not using the omnitrix at all and he’s talking smart instead of his usual speech patterns, rather than “Ben isn’t this smart” or “Ben isn’t that athletic”
Because it if was actually Ben he would have just transformed into an alien and directly stopped the truck
Also point about the tecadon getting destroyed by the truck, it’s both off brand, and that’s a truck being used by inspector 13, obviously he’s gonna have tech that would be unimpeded by his own tech
ok so something that I really like about Albedo's depiction in this episode is his need to not only be himself but be better, all the gloating showing just how simple this all was for him was really good for his character, the night of the living nightmare showcased his inferiority complex and I'll have to rewatch but alot of this episode seems to say that Albedi isn't fully over that, having to resort to ultimates and boasting, either that or it's trying to say that "Albedo understands he's that guy." saying that he's over the whole inferiority thing, also something that stays consistent whith him that I enjoy is how he consistently uses having Ben's face to his advantage, during his first appearance, he pretends to be Ben, all if Ben 10 live and then here he once again uses having the appearance of Ben to his advantage, I just think it's cool.
35:55 he just shocked that someone can turn into humungousaur...on purpose and not fail
36:56 As someone who missed most of UAF as a kid, like most things, I just went with it, cool, no questions asked
I love the scene of Ben trying to escape his plumber cell, as we never really see those scenes in Ben 10 if I’m not mistaken.
Ah so when Ben used sonic doom on Ultimate Kevin he cranked it up to "11"
OV Albedo is easily my favorite iteration of him, not only from a plot stabdpoint but also design wise
Until he becomes 11
@@axelnilsson5124 I think that was good way to bring back Tara to voice Ben again and seeing Albedo as 11 yr old Ben team up with Vilgax later was hilarious too as they won't show that ever in Classic
@@theamazingspooderman2697 but it’s not like it was needed as Tara does regularly appear now and again to voice a character or 2 in Ben 10 and having Ben fighting Albedo looking like his younger self is just stupid
@@axelnilsson5124 11 Ben's body is perfect prison for Albedo though
@@theamazingspooderman2697 but it’s still stupid and having Ben fight Albedo looking like his current self is more fun to watch
The fight between Albedo and Inspector 13 and the following fight with Ben, are probably some of my favorites in the whole series. I love the back and forth and how many transformations we see.
Good Copy, Bad Copy is my favorite Albedo Episode.
I think the reason ben looks so shocked when albedo transforms into humoungasour despite not going ultiminte yet is because he remembers the first interaction between then where the first ultiminte albedo transformed into was humoungasour
36:17 OK the counters are alive confirmed
35:53 the shots can seem out of order but I think Ben’s reaction is just him realising what the crystal had done before the reveal
Like u said earlier Ben is smarter than everyone gives him credit for, I think he deduced that it was the ultimate forms through Albedo’s phrasing of ultimate power and the fact that Albedo is the one that created the ultimatrix and introduced the ultimate evolutionary forms to begin with
Albedo's Ultimate Humungousaur in Omniverse is the Best in the Franchise in my opinion
36:05 Uuuh
To me it's pretty clear that the "no way" was a way to show how Ben REALIZED what's coming
Also, the other cousin that albedo mentioned could be Lucy Mann, but that's kinda a stretch.
Good idea!
@@TheInkTankthank you 😊
i was thinking that too bro
Or ken
@@whothis5810 albedo said her
I love how they made them so monsterous looking, Ult Humungousaur looks like he was forcibly fused with a tank, Ult Spidermonkey is SOOOO MUCH better than the UAF one and Ult Gravattack and Ult Rath just chef kiss
The way Reboot UA Ben wears his Ultimatrix reminds me of Ben’s watch in the Sumo Slammer game.
The Ultimates in OV are absolutely great, specially the designs look great with the details, and like others have said, the artificial and grotesque design is exactly what they should have done from the start
Also the ultimate gimmick just works when it's not Ben, we already saw how they were done in UA
I think the shots with albedo going ultimate were in the right order
think about it, albedo just gained an item that changed the device he was wearing...and then became humungousaur, the first alien Ben ever saw Albedo go ultimate as
you have mentioned Ben's intelligence throughout the video, this is another way of showing it...he saw Albedo's "Omnitrix" change, and then he became humungousaur, he knew what was about to happen in that moment
33:47 had my dying 💀
34:16 in the context of Omniverse, that's probably a feature of his DNA stabiliser. If I were making a device like that, I'd definitely include a function that would give me any equipment I needed to survive in that form. It shouldn't look exactly like Ben's uniforms but it does make sense that he'd program that into his device
Timestamp 14:40 - in the reboot, they do actually have another cousin named Penny. So there is Ben, Gwen, Ken, and Pen in the Tennyson lineage.
Don't forget Sunny from uaf
@@madysonslays9662 oh yeah her too. But I was going with the more obscure one
It’s Peggy though
It’s actually Peggy albedo mentions
19:09 the red color on his shirt could be foreshadowing Albedo. The color red being used throughout the episode for lazers and weapons could also be foreshadowing
41:18 that will never stop being funny to me
Can we talk about how OV Albedo low key rocks the jacket way better than OV Ben? Like this is more for the next episode but he looks great in it.
