    I really hope this gets taken the right way because I absolutely love your videos and have been watching for years, but you apologise for a lot and you really don't have to. The lighting, the camera cutting, the length of the videos, obviously if you want to apologise crack on, but we all come to watch you and the content. If the lighting is a little off we dont care, we just like what you have to say and show. Some food for thought and once again LOVE you and your videos (also Elizabeth Arden Superstart Probiotic Cleanser is my beloved thing of the month) ❤

    For any Aussies watching, Sukin has a great reef-safe mineral sunscreen! It’s cheap (so it’s definitely not the most refined formula) but it does a really good job!!!

    I have used REN for five years and really blessed to have amazing skin with the help of using their products. As a person of colour, their sun screen is problematic on my skin so gave it a pass but their other products are amazing. The night cream you mentioned is in my rotation and definitely recommend it. Love your content Lucy 💛🌻

    I finally finished Becoming this month! I actually read lots of books this month - zero reads in December and I just finished my tenth January book last night. Anyway, Michelle Obama is always inspiring and I cried several times listening to her narrate her story.

    love this series and all your content recently Lucy! re. mineral sunscreen and white cast, I wanted to ask you opinion on that for darker skin. I have what is typically classed as a medium-tan skin tone, and I didn't know that using chemical sunscreen was bad for the coral reefs etc. but I also don't use mineral sunscreen bc it's way too visible on my skin, let alone anyone darker. I look like Mulan going to meet the Matchmaker. I wanted to hear your thoughts on that, cus I know no one can be perfect, but... idk tbh, I just felt like this was a thing that needed to be addressed. this is in no way meant to be negative, like I said I love your content (esp your style content ugh GIRL you give me so much inspiration😩)

      So I was in a workshop with an MUA and apparently the white cast takes a while to fade in darker skin tones but it does go after a short while. However this could be different from your lived experience, and if that’s the case then I’d encourage you to use the sunscreen you feel is best!

    • @lesleycapul8073
      @lesleycapul8073 4 года назад +2

      I’m in the same boat! I have medium-tan skin as well, and have been trying to make the switch for a mineral sunscreen, but wasn’t fond of the white cast that some of them had. So far, I’ve been really liking the Australian Gold Botanical Tinted Face Sunscreen (SPF 50) because it’s easy to apply and actually blends into my skin. I work outdoors so I often need sunscreen and this has been great so far!

      @@sxs311 I've heard that The Inkey List zinc oxide moisturiser is good for darker skin tones. I'm super pale myself so can't speak to this personally but the moisturiser formula makes it a lot lighter than other sunscreens and it rubs in super quickly (although this also means it may not be as effective as a proper thick sunscreen in the height of summer? But great for spring/autumn/winter). It does make you quite shiny though so maybe for oily skin not the best?
      Whatever you do steer well clear of The Ordinary mineral sunscreen, its really affordable but even gave me a whitish/lilac cast on my face and I'm a palest pale redhead... its not fab

    Its a US brand but Sweet Skins Hemp is a great brand that has super comfy leggings and pants. Their Bike Times leggings are so nice, cute, and have a super wide waistband so you don't feel constricted there (my biggest gripe with pants/leggings). Plus they use hemp, a very sustainable material. Their website isn't the sleekest in the world but I would definitely give them a try. I've also gotten things from PACT and Everlane that were pretty good.

    Almost every product was sent to you...that’s very disheartening as a viewer to watch. You’re only getting these products because you have an audience, then you use those products as content for said audience. We deserve better content than watching people get free stuff because of us.

    • @lucymoon
      @lucymoon  4 года назад +17

      Hey! I don’t promote these products because I’m sent them - I’m sent products multiple times a week that I never share online as I personally don’t use them, instead I give them to friends and family or women’s shelters. Part of my job is that my address goes out to PR companies and I build relationships with brands for future work, but you have to trust that I am very selective with who I build those relationships with. I try to be as transparent as possible when it comes to sharing what was gifted to me. Believe me when I say it would be a waste of my time to share something I didn’t like!

      I mean ... It's her job ... I don't feel like being sent products means that she can't genuinely talk about them and love them. I really don't understand "deserving better than watching people get free stuff because of us" ... Because it's actually us watching her that gives her opportunities and the means to be offered or buy products to have content to make for us so that we can keep on watching her. It's an ouroboros, a self feeding system : content>us=views>brand>her>content> etc etc and personally I feel good about giving my views and watch time to someone as aware, kind and genuine as Lucy so that she can keep on getting those opportunities !

    • @AK-nm5is
      @AK-nm5is 4 года назад +4

      I mean if she gets products, tries them and likes them, why wouldn’t she tell about them? Why would she be not telling about them and just tell about products she has bought herself? She’s telling about these product because she probably finds them better than the products she’s bought herself.

      @@lucymoon your job used to be more about creating, now it's more about brands and that's fair but you'll obviously lose some subs along the road and hopefully gain some as well
