Now that Iron Man is dead, he can't ruin another Spider-Man movie... right?
We're continuing through the MCU take on Spidey, and this time he's going on vacation! Spider-Man: Far From Home takes us to Italy, London, and... Ix... Ixten... well, somewhere in Mexico.
Jake & Mike are back for what may be a better movie than its predecessor... save for a certain pair of glasses mucking things up again.

I'm glad too because for so long I told my older brother that Tom doesn't feel like spiderman and now I know why Peter's life is tragic that is why we relate to him. He is human his life is a mess and he still gets up and save the day
I love how meta it is that Mysterio, as a faker, is using a smokey globe so that he doesn't have to keep rendering his face but that is what the actual sfx people on the movie can take advantage of as well!
Well the original character had a smokey globe. It just worked out for this movie too.

In the scene where Mysterio tries to shoot Peter, the reason Tom looks so betrayed is because Jake actually pulled a gun on him and tried to shoot him. Completely improve on both parts!

I've thought of this before lol. I live in Shrewsbury, England (birthplace of charles Darwin) one of the older towns in England, we still have buildings in the town centre that date back to the 1700s, so as you can imagine, no 50 story buildings or anything like that. I've always thought about if in some universe I became spiderman, how I'd likely have to move to at least Manchester, London or Birmingham to be able to utilise my swinging capabilities hahaha

Before No Way Home. This was my favourite Spiderman movie. I found Mysterio to be such a great villain for Spiderman and he was so good and in the end, he kinda won, and Spiderman faced so many consequences because of it. The whole No Way Home movie wouldn't have happened if it hadn't been for Mysterio. And I think it cemented Mysterio as a great GREAT villain in this franchise

I still like MCU Parker and am excited for SM4 but personally speaking I find Tobeys problems to be more relatable unfortunately haha compared to Toms. I’m guessing most people feel this way.

I mean hell, Far From Home is basically Peter having to deal with his supervisor constantly calling him about work despite being on vacation.
I'm actually more invested in Tom Holland's Spider Man now after No Way Home going into his Spider Man 4 (whenever that comes out which could be awesome and a truly great Spider Man movie) more than I was with Homecoming and Far From Home

One of the reasons I love this movie is because it shows the consequences of being a "billionaire, genius, playboy and philanthropist": you make a lot of enemies.
I mean sure but it's kinda dumb cause it doesn't really feel like a spider man villain. More like an Iron Man villain but oh it's a spider man movie.
@@TrentM03 That's because they had to sell the ideia to Sony, they used Tony to do it. The first Spider-man had a ton of Tony Stark because they had to sell the ideia that Spider-man would make a lot of money for Sony.
That's also why they made Mysterio a "hybrid" super-villain: half a Spider-man villain, half an indirect Iron Man Villain
@@TrentM03 I never minded it too much bc Tony was only part of his origin, like his initial motivation and then he really grows ro hate Peter for trying to stop him. Like literally it's the same way for most villians in other Spider-Man media, the villian will have an initial motive tied to another character like Norman Osborn or some other dude

God this movie is so underrated! It's an awsome Spider-Man movie, sadly people take this movie at face value without going any deeper
i mean lots of folks love homecoming and we don't care for it, so we're totally fine with the reverse happening here. we enjoy this movie and it's ok if others don't!
This movie was like 90% positive on Rotten Tomatoes. I think the Tom Holland era of Spider-Man has vocal detractors, but his movies are well reviewed. And the main criticism you hear about from detractors is comic accuracy which most of the mainstream audience isn’t even going to blink at

But there is another level wherein it was totally built to please MCU Spider-Man haters. I actually trust the creative forces that gave us these movies to give us a good sequel either way, but I’m probably not dying for the exact movie the detractors want either.

I’m living for the FFH appreciation, it’s always been one of my favorite Spider-Man movies
FFH is my absolute favourite live-action Spider-Man film. Of course Into The Spider-Verse is my favourite, but FFH just has fun with Peter. He’s confronted with a liar who wants to exploit superheroes and Peter must learn truth from fiction, he has to come to terms with not filling Tony’s shoes, and he has to balance his hero life with ordinary life. I see people say this is the worst in the trilogy, and I couldn’t disagree more.

@@emblemblade9245 not really. The actual complaints I’ve seen have been “Peter has no relatable problems” or “there are no consequences”, which I disagree with. It’s certainly better than both TASM films, Homecoming and SM3, yet I often see it ranked below all of them.

I also disagree with the "no relatable problems" and kinda with the "no consequences" claims (even tho there aren't that many consequences until the identity reveal.) But his arc just gets reset in FFH, he's kind of a dumbass just introducing himself to people that he doesn't know as Peter Parker, finally makes his own suit but not really because he didn't even make it himself, he just took the design of his original and changed the blue to black and it was 3D printed for him WITH Stark tech, the Ned and Betty romance is pointless, MJ and Ned suck, OH and Mysterio's motives are just plain stupid. Glad you enjoy it though, even if many of us don't.

When I first saw this in theaters, the Mysterio illusion fight and the “Peter Tingle”/“You can’t trick me anymore” scene had me thinking this was the best Spider-Man movie I’d ever seen. After watching it again, I came to my senses and remembered Spider-Man 2 exists, but I still think this is a pretty good movie overall.
I agree, the scene where he tries to catch Gwen only to fail is some of the best superhero stuff I’ve ever seen and is leagues ahead of the MCU

The actor playing William is a producer for the MCU and he shaved his head like Mr Burns for the Iron Man scene and Far From Home.

I've heard a lot of people complain that Mysterio uses CGI but like how else would you do it. I love how he's wearing a motion capture suit and I think the dome helmet is to block his voice from leaking.
I went opening weekend with my mother and seeing her reaction to Mysterio being evil was priceless. Also the theater audibly gasped upon Mysterio exposing Spider-Man’s identity

Also not sure if it was intended, but when Peter gets jumped by version's of himself climbing through the shards of glass, it reminds of that one Mysterio segment in the Spider-Man 2 PS2 game where you have to fight a bunch of versions of Spider-Man that come out of funhouse mirrors
For me every Spider film in the MCU got so much better. Especially the 3rd one!!!

Ya’ll don’t give Tom Holland enough credit. He did wear the suit(s) and did most of his own stunts. That young man practically crushed his nuts for your enjoyment and you wanna say it wasn’t real XP. (Check out some of the behind the scenes stuff in both movies. You’ll understand what I mean.)
Also, I know it wasn’t a serious question…but I think the Elementals were made using Houdini. Those particle effects…*chef’s kiss*
we said in the video we think he's great! also pointed out we know he wears the suit on set, we just wish they didn't cover it up with cg in post bc it's super fake looking. we wanna see tom and his stunts for real!!!
@@PrettyMuchIt Ah. I getchya. I thought you thought it was all CGI or just a double/stuntman and didn’t know it was a real suit/motion capture suit.
I have mixed feelings about what they did to the suit. I get they wanted it to be all slick and form fitting so they edited out the wrinkles, but it does make it look fake.
I think (Frameworks? Imageworks? Too lazy to look it up.) did a phenomenal job with the bits that were all CGI (ie; the Mysterio illusion fight). Again, I have to cream myself over those particle effects.
Also the way they did that scene with Peter and Nick Fury was so seamless. Best VFX are VFX you don’t notice. ❤️
