Nice upgrade to an already handy piece of equipment! Don’t worry about the naysayers..... if they don’t like it then they can pay for what they say you should have! Have never thought about adding a new port gave me something to think about Thanks ‘73
Good job Bob. In my opinion, such a box is much more flexibel that those full blown bells and whistles solar power generators out there. 73, Stephan, DF6PA
I Verified with Powerwerx.... You can charge and discharge thru the binding posts and the anderson powerpoles on the unit on the lid. Bioenno batteries can also be charged or discharged thru the anderson powerpoles hesides the coaxial dc plug.
Great video Bob. I think it is always best to get what you need and expand as the needs grow. As far as the pure sine wave inverter goes, a lot of hams like them because they are, most times, quieter while running and charging(rf hash). The plug was a nice addition to the box. Keep them coming. 73.
Pretty awesome video . I wonder if I could get a battleborn 50amp hour battery an make it work with something like that or a 100 amp hour battle born battery with the bigger portable battery box ? Because if it has a inline blade fuse it should hold up ?
Don't be mad. I'll play along and explain... So, perhaps what I should have said is I do not want to have to keep the box open and have a wire hanging out while I charge. With this addition, I can plug the wire from the panel into the box on the outside, latch the lid, and easily move the box if needed while keeping it plugged in. Yes, I know I have to open the box to look at the meter, but I don't always need to look at the meter.
Are you saying to plug the solar panel into one of the existing powerpoles on the box? These powerpoles run directly to the battery. This would feed the panel directly to the battery. That is not what you want to do. I have my reasons for how I did this.

Good video Bob. Nice upgrade to your battery box. I like the Power Pole connectors and use them on all my 12 volt hookups. Stay well and 73!

You’re not making sense. You say you don’t want to open box but yet your meter is INSIDE the box where you will STILL have to open the box.

@@BobPlank_KK4DIV Umm… you DO know that you could just plug into one of the two Anderson Powerpoles, right?
