I have 2 eco-worthy 30Ah batteries I've been using for POTA. For the price, they have been decent. Building a box is on the to-do list since it's a pretty simple task but it hasn't been a huge priority. I just created some leads with powerpoles on them for now and throw a battery monitor inline.
If that works for you, awesome...everyone has their way of operating.
Very cool. So we can use our existing batteries? I have the same brand battery as you. Love the device they've made.
Seems to be working OK...not a 100% perfect fit, but didn't take much jerry-rigging to make it work.
A cooliooo Video Stuart! I like this huge Garage. Perfect for mutliple Operator Radio Room. The Property outside has a lot of Space for all kinds of Antennas. Let us know when the new Club Station is ready I will be there for the Grand Opening .😂👍
You are always welcome UG
I have the PWRBox2 for my 40 AH POTA station and it works great.
I love mine so far. It is one of the top POTA investments I have made. Up there with the tent poles from Princess Auto
Cool video! I have a box similar to that but was built years before Powerwerx did theirs!
Awesome, thanks for sharing your comment.
I can BUILD that for less than half of the retail cost.
Congratulations, there may be a business opportunity here for you.
looks great. I made a similar battery box for POTA. One think you might consider as an upgrade is a battery monitor with a shut. This will allow you know exactly how much capacity you have left. It will also tell you if you're getting full rated capacity out of the battery.
Yep, this unit has something like that
@@outnaboot Nice, I thought it just a volt meter that gives a estimated percentage.
How much RFI do you get out of those USB ports?
I haven't tested it to that extreme yet, but I haven't noticed anything in the one test that I did...but then again, I wasn't looking for it either.
Just an update..there is a slight bit of RFI from the USB ports, It's not enough to be overly concerned, but it's definitely there.
