    I am a ham-all QRP mountain top SOTA type stuff. I use 1300maH lipo and can operate 4-5 hours on it with my little 3W CW rigs…lol
    One of these would be great on my weekend sailing trips. I’ll probably build my own. It looks to me they are using the high quality Bioenno 15aH and slapping their sticker on it.
    First charge is very important. Bioenno recommends charging 4-5 hours the first time way after the Green light comes on.

      I enjoy using it. Sounds like you're having a good time running SOTA. What's your call? I'll keep an ear open for you. Thank you

      Thank you! It's come in handy a bunch of times. We had to take the UHF repeater down to repair it. We currently have the 145.310 repeater running in it's place. It's running in auto/auto mode analog/c4fm.

    I wish it came with a 12AH so that I could fly with it

      You could buy a separate 12AH battery, and install that one when you fly. Thank you for the comment.

    Neat appearance and looks very easy to use for POTA! Are the battery dimensions same as Bioenno 15Ah 5.5 in. x 4.3 in. x 3.2 in? I want the new 20Ah mini, but they are $90 more at the moment. Considering this one with the idea that i can plug a Nermak 20Ah into it later and still spend less than the 20Ah mini's current $330 list price.
    If running a solar panel concurrently with my radio do I just plug the solar panel controller into the other available APP?

      I use this thing alot! It was a great purchase for sure. I need to look into putting ups some solar panels on the shop roof. Yes on the battery dimensions. These are Bioenno batteries with a label over them. Thank you again for the comment.

    Since the power pole connectors are always hot, does that mean they're not protected by the breaker-switch?

    • @Darrell_Coquillette
      @Darrell_Coquillette  Год назад +1

      Thank you for the comment Mike. The power poles have a 30 amp fuse in-line. Let me know if you have any other questions.

    Nice video! Have you experienced any RF noise into your rig coming from the USB charger?

    • @Darrell_Coquillette
      @Darrell_Coquillette  Год назад

      Thank you. I haven't had any RF noise from the charger. My only issues is how hot the charger gets during charging. But I will check for it.

    Why not charge through the exterior powerpole connectors?

      Eric, I just got around to trying to charge from the powerpole connectors. I does work and is basically the same as unplugging the battery and charging.

    $260??? I could DIY a 100Ah box for a bit more, probably $360 if I don't cheap out on BMS

      This is my first experience with one of these. I may make one in the future too. Have you made one yourself?
