the guitar riff starting right after the wipe mechanic passes is SO good, the exact same energy as Titan starting Under the Weight right as he does his wipe and Shiva starting Oblivion right as she stomps
@@LutherTaylor Soken originally wrote this song with a female vocalist but that got binned 3 days before the deadline after YoshiP said it didn’t fit since Leviathan is a male. Since there wasn’t enough time to hire a male vocalist to practice and record this, Soken sang the song himself and had to add crazy effects to make it sound the way it does, especially since the song’s keys were tuned for the female vocalist. There’s a livestream of him playing the raw vocals of himself which is hilarious as well as the female vocal version which he later released with an OST.

Well I accidently dropped my controller causing my camera to rotate and so I ended up confidently running to the wrong side of the ship followed by like 5 other people. Was so damn funny xD

You can hear the rhythm of "leviathan" in the end of the forest theme and all throughout haven's theme too, it's practically woven into the entire region, i couldn't stop myself from quietly singing "leviathan" along with the music once i noticed it in my latest playthrough
Unpopular opinion but I really love the first theme a lot more than this song. Not saying this is a bad song mind you, it's pretty good. But the first phase theme just fits the fight a whole lot more. Just that rhythmic beating of drums foreboding the primal. Fucking great.
I think that it does a good job of building things up before this enters and completely shreds the place. They're two sides of the same piece, a build-up (Wreck to the Seaman) to a climax (Through the Maelstrom). Suspense before a thrilling explosion.

When we finally got past the wipe mechanic I can't even begin to describe the feeling of the entire platform shifting causing me to slide as soon as this banger kicks in, playing Monk I dashed and was able to get out of the slide animation. I have never felt this cool in a video game in a long time
I'm someone who listens to their own music when playing games. So when I was running the ex fights for the first time and got this fights mount as a drop, it took me until Stormblood to realise that this fight had an absolute banging track. Something straight out of splatoon
Man, I solo this Ex as WAR and never even bother with the adds. I remember doing it in as weak of gear as Lost Allagan. I know you're stretching the footage to play the song, but it's weird to see acknowledgment of the mechanics at level 80.
They spent so much time and effort on songs most people never hear the bulk of, because they only do the MSQ versions, and the lyrics phase lasts 30 seconds.
