ANYWAY! Halloween 2 was Rob Zombie's follow up to the 2007 Halloween. Similarly, it's written and directed by Rob Zombie, his wife plays a major role in this one, arguably moreso than the first, and everyone in Haddonfield is an irredeemable jerk who gets what's coming to them. Unfortunately though, with more freedom to do what he wants it seems the last thing Rob Zombie was interested in doing, was making a Halloween movie.

Or some sick, shoulder-mounted, energy/plasma cannon with triple-laser pointing/aim-assist... Oh and maybe a good ol' nazies-zombies invasion! 'Cause why not just go all "ze revenze of ze zombified, naziz-zermanic third Reizz" way? Better than: "Mickey want-a-white-poney/horse/mommy"..."
Ps: I was just thinking of a bunch of 'em "Spaceballs/Cabin in the wood" winks/hommages, but with more flair and/or "epic bad guys traits" and/or 1up defining perks...
I'm convinced he wanted to do a Friday the 13th remake and got it mixed up with Halloween.
Rob Zombie might of forgoteen about Micheal's main plot but instead he put Jason's Freddy's Ghostface's and Leatherface's Plots into one movie and said that will be Micheals Plot i guess he hasn't watched the prevous Halloween films

I have a masters in psychology and they VERY thoroughly explain why Freud's theories are not used anymore (in the US, at least, but there are some European countries that still follow his thinking, such as autism being caused by motherly neglect). While he was important in starting the field of psychology, it is no more applicable as the humors in the study of health.

actually he wanted to make Laurie become the new Michael or something along those lines but they told him no and keep Michael alive an shit basically he wanted to do his own thing but they force him to not change anything about the Halloween series and that why the movie ass
frank jovel that would've been silly for Rob Zombie to make Laurie the killer since from what I remember Michael is the main protagonist. Don't get me wrong I loved zombie' s work on the first Halloween and how he took it to another direction with his vision. Now the second movie is where he ruined it for me.It was just too many storylines and was very confusing

As much as I dislike these movies, Brad Dourif as Sheriff Brackett was excellent. The emotion he displays when he finds Annie always gets to me. The best character in the two films by far.
Agreed. Brad as Sheriff Brackett was one of the best things about Rob Zombie's Halloween films. He was one of the few characters that weren't despicable and you rooted for.
Brad dourif is good in everything he does. Even in alien resurrection which was a crap movie, he was over the top interesting creepy.
Literally the only characters I liked in Zombie's Halloween films were Sheriff Brackett and Annie.

I actually like the idea Zombie was going for with the final girl having PTSD. Though a lot of it was a mess, it had some good ideas and at least it was trying to be original.
I agree, I like that he tried to explore the concept, poorly executed as it was.
The original young Michael didn't have to do anything but stare to be terrifying. The new kid looks annoyed that he lost his favorite Pokemon card.

I have a theory. The Jeff the killer character was based on Halloween 2007. The story came out a year after the movie. Young Michael Myers and Jeff we’re both bullied in school. they both butchered the family

Then again, this is the director’s cut - and it makes everyone (mainly Laurie) extremely unlikeable. As opposed to the theatrical cut, where she’s a bit more sympathetic.

Zombie's "great idea" of showing how Laurie was traumatised by the events of 1 was just having her shout "YOU FUCKING BITCH" at everyone, have nightmares where she re-enacts Michael's murders and somehow hallucinates the mother and white horse like him.
Why would Rob Zombie steal a character trait so fundamentally attached to Jason? The dead mother talking to him is so unoriginal, and has nothing to do with Halloween.

Zombie contradicts himself all the time. He said he wanted to make his Michael more realistic and human but still gave him original Michael's superhuman strength, had him rip Judith's gravestone out of the ground just like he did in the 1978 film, had him smash through walls and so on.

can we talk about the fact that even when her character dies, rob zombie somehow finds a way to have his wife in every movie he makes... its like we get that's the only reason that she has an acting career but if you kill her character in the first movie, don't rewrite the story to have her featured in the second film!

It's been done already. Might be more insightful to point out that the photo of "Old Loomis" shows Malcolm McDowell looking a lot more _like_ the Donald Pleasance version of the character.

Why is the Brackett family the most tolerable people in this entire duology of the Rob Zombie version of Halloween?
They're the only characters the remake films did better than the original series IMO. At least Brad Dourif remake Brackett actually does things and goes after Michael to protect his town and for killing his daughter. Original series Brackett did nothing but blame Loomis for "letting Michael out" even though Michael escaped. He wasn't let out.
Because Rob didn't realize he was writing them as tolerable people you actually want to root for. Had he made another Halloween, he'd have retconned it so that Annie stole peoples organs to sell on the black market and Sheriff Brackett gave meth-laced candy to kids so he could get them hooked on it and make them future customers for his drug dealing side-hustle.

Fun Fact: Theatrical Cut of this movie has a completely different Laurie Strode, who's more of survivor enjoying life, rather than the PTSD destroyed mess she was in the Directors Cut.
A 20 minute dream sequence is absurd. That's not a small chunk of the film.
I'm disappointed that Annie died, she really was one of the better characters in the film.

LMFAO! DECKER!!! Love the randomness of your cat at the end! Agree w/ thoughts on this movie... I think should have never been made with how this final crap turned out. Grunting Michael ugh... the 500 F words ugh... Half his mask gone and the ridiculously thick baseball beard! My lord! And to think I saw some videos where the people said they didn't mind half the mask missing, as it makes it seem more realistic LOL... though the level of strong, gory violence fits it for being a Zombie movie... so yah... there is that.... Thanks for making these Halloween videos! I enjoyed all of them, but didn't watch your H3 one, as I never will actually watch that movie, it is a disgrace going off-story lol.

I can see why the first one mostly focused on Michael, Rob Zombie made Michael the more likable character between his two leads since here Laurie has become so unlikable that you end up cheering for her to be murdered by Michael in this movie. Though Loomis did a real dick move there by revealing that Laurie was Michael’s baby sister in his book without even finding out if she even knew this pretty important piece of information, but what did you expect from Alex from A Clockwork Orange/Caligula? Also I am surprised that you didn’t make a joke about how Annie also had it worse because of the time she was Michael’s niece in two Halloween movies. Also while Malcom gave a good performance, I also would have liked it if Michael just beat him to death Loomis’s new book, it is Tyler Mane Michael, he probably could beat someone to death with a book.

I honestly felt more emotion when the Cow got hit.
Friend of mine owned a store used in the movie. He says Rob Zombie was a dick but paid 10 grand to use the store, so he put up with it. For whatever reason, they got to the end of the two weeks & still needed two more days to finish. My friend said, "Okay. Another 10 grand."

That's what pissed me off about the director's cut for Zombie's first one. It made everyone Michael killed seem like an insufferable douche. At least the theatrical version had him seem like more of a psycho.

Laurie is much more likeable in the theatrical cut and Michael doesn't speak which does make it better than the director's cut

I haven't seen the new Halloween yet but up until now the best of the sequels was Halloween 4. Rachel and Jamie where excellent characters and it had just the right mix of creepiness and action. Loomis is also on form. I love that movie.

I actually liked Rob Zombie's Halloween and it's sequel....I whould have liked to see Michael's sister become a female immortal serial killer and see how her now broken mind and her murder rampage whould turn out....it whould have been a refresher to see a main female slasher,it probably moved Laurie's character to new territory and show a new killer whould MAKE THE BODY COUNT RISE....also the gallery of slasher villains wouldn't be a complete testosterone festival and I'm pretty sure Laurie could seduce me into a trap and kill them or be more stealthy/fast and perform gruesome and phycodic slaughter....if it was done correctly
