In fact Id be more inclined to buy your knife as it actually did well in the tests for its intended purpose and design...well done and huge kudos to you guys 👊.....still waiting for Lilly to post a video response about the test you guys did on her knife.....no ownership taken, critisism accepted or shits given... it seems she took the review as a personal attack yet only responds when the reviews are favorable 🙄

Not youtube but the same type of people EVERYWHERE. Funny the love is love people are blocking freedom. Collectivist thinking is the opposite of freedom forcing the joining of group all their inclusivity is exclusivity: group member first individuals second, group status first talent second. Irony is they generalize and marginalize a group while saying they stand against generalizations and for marginalized groups. They prioritize a certain type usually chosen by race, gender, and political discrimination and they don't value what they deem to be "other" to itself. All their words about love ALL, freedom, change is about self-branding NOT truth - just the virtue signal, selfish, humble brag pretense buzzword club. Group member first Individual (the smallest minority) second, others need to be worth less for them to be worth more, while they tout war rhetoric about crumbling walls melting pieces and talk of a new world order which shows who is really marginalised. The cancel mob needs to monopolize the words they are NOT as they destroy.

@@utrak I usually carry the Cold Steel Voyager XL clip point. I’ve carried one for years. The 4 Max Scout probably weights a bit more than my usual daily carry knife. Yup, I just compared them and it does seem a little heavier. But they are both about the same width. The Scout is maybe a smidge thicker. Likely because the Voyagers have nested liners and the Scout has thicker blade stock without nested liners.
But when I carry the Scout, it doesn’t seem all that big in pocket to me. Maybe it’s because I’ve carried big knives for so long I just don’t notice it as much. I’ve got the Rajah 2 and the Espada XL. I can carry the Rajah 2, though it’s not really comfortable. Too much sticks out of the pocket. I tried to carry the Espada XL a few times, but it’s just ridiculously annoying to me because it’s such a huge knife.
Personally, I think if I really want to carry a knife, I would figure out a way to do it. I carry my Voyager XL in my right hip pocket, not a front pocket. Wallet goes in my left hip pocket. That way I balance out. 😂

I understand you guys building a premium upscale knife. A tank version would be cool. Solid tang with a less polished handle would be a cool additional knife. Like a heavy duty version of the same knife.

No shame here! Joe X pushes knives to breaking point - he was always going to break it somehow 🔨🌋. This knife was pushed way beyond any sensible level of use & it stood up extremely well. Well thought out design + excellent manufacturing = awesome knife! The Elmax stood up extremely well esp. lateral strength - kudos to TRC for their heat treat. I'm also impressed you guys are looking at this as a learning opportunity to perhaps improve your design ✅. Finally, skeletonising a fixed blade is common - to lighten it & get the balance right. Sharp blades all.

Great video on video. Just one consideration: the polish handle, if is well design can have a great performance thanks to the shape (I call it grip by shape vs grip by texture). What a Very impressive knife! I’d check out G-flex epoxy. The balance and toughness can be altered with less skeleton and use a combination solid pin up front and hollow pin in back. The other thing I wonder is about a differential heat treat. The spine could still be hard right in front of the handle for fire steel and a bit softer out towards the tip. I love the videos and the knife. Keep up the good work guys. I’m still hoping for that elusive knife giveaway in the US!😂

instead of skeletonizing the tang, make a deep fuller, even just leaving a thin connection between the two will be all the difference and you can structure it in a way as to not add weight.

There are some adhesives while not strong as epoxy but they also don't harden the same way they stay kinda rubbery. Might wanna check into it to adhere handle along with pinning

  • @Steelydan670

There are very durable epoxies on the market. If DBK is still considering bonding the handles, I highly recommend G-Flex epoxy. It is marine grade waterproof and is extremely impact resistant. Ive been using it for all of my custom knives since I tried it almost 10 years ago. It’s awesome stuff. Always a good idea to glue and screw handles both for strength and to keep moisture away from the tang. Less of an issue with elmax, but still a consideration. Hope this helps even though it’s 8 months after the video came out.

    Marten and Mickey,
    Great test on the DNK…
However, I think something would be interesting as well as educational…
After the blade and point were badly chipped, put the damaged knife to the belt sander to see how easily or difficult it would be to bring it back to its full functional capabilities.
Perhaps this could be a test you add during your reviews.
    Just a thought…
    Love my Fallkniven

I loved the video. Some people taper the tang to lose weight on the handle to help balance the knife and also instead of one large hole, drill smaller holes. The smaller holes also allow for epoxy to have more surface area to help hold the scales on. If you did a combination of tapering and small drilled holes, the tang would be just about as strong as a full un-tapered tang.
