I've been creating Tees off & on since 1990 but not consistently. I custom design, and my method is the iron-on. However, I'm looking to purchase a Sillhouett Cameo, and a Heat Press within a few weeks because I know that it's time to knuckle down, and kick up some lava!!! I had a lady approach me on Sept. 1 requesting an order. Delivered!!! Then a young man placed two orders. Working on those, my computer blitzed. So finding you is a real GOD SEND. Lol, my family kept wondering why I was talking to my screen, saying “yes, she’s absolutely right!”
I started off with an embroidery business about 12 yrs. ago. I learned many of lessons you gracefully explained. One of the hardest lessons was how to turn away business. A quality product will always be appreciated and will generate more business. However, a cheap product will be perceived as cheap and not valued. Another important business policy was the importance of prepayments or a significant deposit.
I have watched all of the tee shirt videos and this information is very helpful I have so many notes and pretty soon will be put to use

I have become a fan of yours. You created a great video with lots of info. I recently got Cricut Explorer Air and enjoying making a t-shirt for myself. My friends like what I wear and want me to make for them. I quoted them at a very low price. Your guideline for pricing is very correct.

Hi Tracie. I love the t-shirt you're wearing. I've been making t-shirts as a side hustle for over a year and if I may, the shirt you're wearing should be more than $20 because it has multiple colors. During my research I learned that the more you have to pull down the heat press (additional colors) you should charge a little extra. Glad I found your channel. :)

Your videos are so helpful, thank you so much. I do have a question. I have only been making shirts for about 3 months and finally came up with a design that is selling very well. My issues is I am getting messages from customers asking or telling me that someone else is asking or taking my design and making their own shirts with it. What would you recommend me say about that? I want to be as polite as possible but it kinda grinds my gears just a little lol. Please keep the videos coming!

Hello, thank you so much, I'm glad I was able to help. The bulk prices will depend on the wholesale price you're able to get for the t-shirts plus the complexity of the design and amount of vinyl you use. Also the kids sizes should be a little cheaper than the adult sizes. Make sure you're making a profit and giving your time, talent and services away!

I'm glad you did because this was very helpful.
How much should you charge for 2+ colors?
I usually just consider how much vinyl was used and not necessarily the colors unless it’s a complex design where the colors intertwine. Taking that into consideration about 23 to $25

Hi Jordan! Yes, you could do a price break for 10 or more shirts or when 25, 50 or more are ordered. The more shirts, then at your specified discretion- you charge less. Could say at 10 or more they would be a $1.50 cheaper and 25 or more $2.50 cheaper etc... 👍🏽✨

Awesome! As the owner of the business that’s really up to you. I don’t care for when the customer brings a shirt for me to print on- a lot of times they want to help make the price and sometimes the shirt may not be the right material for heat pressing. I’ve done it for people I’m veeery close to on only about 3 occasions. So you can tell people that you don’t do that process if you’d like 👍🏽
