Great video Pete. This year has definitely been a crazy year for games. Awesome but crazy. I am starting to feel like I'm the only person looking forward to Gears of War 3 though. Its a day one purchase for me.
I'm in college now, so I have to be very frugal with my spending habits, so my only purchase this month is going to be the special edition of Otomedius Excellent for the 360. I vertical and horizontal shmup that just looks like a blast. I cannot wait to get my hands on it. Excellent picks, though, Pete!!!!

Hearing you never played Contra 4 was like a shot to the heart. I think that's more of an argument for getting Alien Infestation than Shantae, which I've also played
@Kenhawk98 no confirmed release date for kid Icarus yet. In all honesty I hope its delayed til next year. Theres no way I could sit around for a month KNOWING that Sonic Generations is on store shelves, its day 1 for me for sure.

This fall and winter is going to be killer on my wallet. Assassin's Creed and Uncharted 3 are at the top of my list, and I am considering Skyrim. I couldn't get into Oblivion no matter how hard I tried, but Skyrim might finally hit the right note. Great list overall :)
If you want to get into the Assassin's Creed series, start with the first game. The reason you probably had difficulty with Brotherhood is because you need to play the first games to understand the story and the gameplay. It's great to see the games evolve and it just works better overall if you play them in order.
Some must-buys from my list include: Zelda Skyward Sword, The Last Story (I'm in Europe), Mario Kart 7, Super Mario 3D Land, Sonic Generations (might pick up both PS3 and 3DS versions) and lastly ICO + Shadow of the Colossus.
You should show Box Art covers on the side somewhere for these names; I don't even know what some of these games are :( You usually have the actual game, and you'd show us, but for videos like these, maybe a art cover of the game or something; I don't know, it's just a small suggestion~ This video is pretty helpful though since I don't really know what new games are coming out~ Thanks for making!

Damn, that's quite a list! I've only added 3 games to my list. Kirby Mass Attack DS, Kirby Return to Dream Land (Didn't know about this title until you mentioned it Pete!), and Harvest Moon: Tale of Two Towns DS. If I had a 3DS or a PS3 I totally would get Sonic Generations. Really wish they would port it on the DS or the Wii!

I've beaten Resistance 3's single player and a played a few hours of multiplayer. Full splitscreen or online single player co-op is also a welcome touch. Anyways, Resistance 3 has to be the best game in the series

I am hugely budgeted as well, doesn't help that I videogames are just one small segment of my geeky collection, so the only games I buy new anymore are AAA titles that I really can't miss, like Arkham City or Battlefield 3, the rest I can pick up later. This may be the winter of SNES/PS2, I have been on a roll lately with those systems.

I am waiting for Dead Island to arrive to me. Skyrim is a must, but only after I check reviews. Saints Row 3 is the only other game I might get on release. Everything else, no matter how good, will probably buy when the price has dropped. Dead Island was the first full priced game I bought in ages and since I have a huge back catalogue to play, I Can wait.

That being said...Super Mario 3D Land, despite me getting the 3DS as a gift at launch back in March, is gonna be the first actual 3DS game for me. I figured it's best to spend money on a game that I KNOW I'm gonna enjoy, rather than just get a 3DS game because it's a 3DS game. :P
Yeaaah Dark Souls is a day 1 for sure! I can't wait to play it, it's going to consume the rest of my year, I don't need any other games! Battlefield 3 is looking really good too.
SKYRIM for PC is a must. The Elder Scroll community is striving and mods are constantly being pumped out for morrowind and Oblivion. Bethesda estimate the game play will last around 300+ hours of gameplay. This is not counting the mods. The mods will add much more. Basically, the PC verison is better than the console version.

Pete, only get Dead Island if you're planning to play through the whole game with friends. The game is made to be played with friends!

Revelations online is very like Brotherhood but just has lots of new things added such as characters, maps, weapons, modes etc
