That’s a fantastic idea!! I bet they haven’t thought of that yet!! They are so heavy they would be fantastic as weed suppression and walking paths! Maybe could be used in their orchards too! Those things are worth big $$$🥰❤️🇨🇦🙏🏻🍁
Hi, Jason! This is a good video. When things get disorganized, I feel like my life is running me instead of me running my life. It’s is soothing when I organize and I know where everything is.
Take a photo of the contents of each bin and print it off. Stock it to the front of each bin. You can cross off the item if you remove it and it doesn’t go back. Take new photos every year or whatever if items change places. Saves opening multiple bins to find what you need.
Or print the images and pop them in a binder that corresponds to the numbered bins. I find I end up putting unrelated things in the bins and need better organizing
Good job on the barn. Now finish your kitchen on the cold or rainy days. This is the time of year to wrap up and complete all loose ends. And yes, we will watch those videos too. We all know that has to be done, so don't try to hide it from us!
Being the compulsive person I am, I would have written in a sharpie pen the size of the nuts and bolts on the bottom of the yellow compartments so I can see what they are and what to restock. Great job and I agree that mess = stress. Love you all. Happy and prosperous 2025.😊
Wow, that barn/hardware store is looking good! You could paint a piece of wood with chalkboard paint to hang in there so you can write down what you need, etc. take a photo before you head to the store. That meal looks so good!
LOL, there are some homesteaders who at the beginning of their video, sometime during and sometime before the video ends they are always wondering where something is and are looking for it. I always think of my father who said, You clean as you go. Thst was a good habit to learn because I became a nurse and you have to keep track of things. And of all the Homesteaders I've always thought you were the most organized, and things don't look chaotic at your place versus some homesteaders I can't even watch their videos because they're constantly looking for things and spend most of the whole video wondering where everything is or accidentally finding something and then it's broken
One of the things I like about your way of thinking is you keep a tidy homestead…..so important. Your animals are clean and I love 💕 the clean birds and piggies 🐽 🐖. Can’t wait for the piglets. Oink 🐷 oink
I love that you like being organised! Mess = stress! I see some homesteads that are so untidy, which makes them less efficient. They are always looking for ‘something’, and their properties look so messy and junky.
I bought that same sorting case a few months ago.,.,. And last week I finally found all the nuts screws washers etc,.,. And wow. What a difference it makes.
I have bought those horse stall mats and I would bet that if you listed them on facebook marketplace for half of the retail price they would sell like hotcakes. Just a thought for getting rid of things you don’t want or need.👍🌈✌️🐽🐷🐖
This is true!. I have purchased them for my stalls but they are excellent outside any building entrance during mud season to save the ground from eroding with foot traffic both animal and human.
Your shop therapy is my sewing/crafting room therapy. Lots of little things. We won't talk about material, haha. Kinda like lumber. You never know when that scrap is going to be exactly what you need and you don't have to go to the store. Great fencing procrastination!
You are speaking my language! If i could organize for a living and survive i would in a heartbeat! I love this content, well and all the other, but don't think this is "boring"!
Jason, I watched your year "movie" I had to pause it a couple of times but, I watched the entire movie! It was very well worth it! Thank you for ALL the mind numbing work you put into our entertainment ❤ Stay safe and God bless you my friend 🌱 🐄 🐖 🐐 🐓 🌱. Lisa in Maine.
Dear Jason, First of all I want to tell you how much my husband and I enjoyed your "year in review" video. So good. Also I want to encourage you to try a tangerine tree in your greenhouse. You can tent it as well on severe cold nights. So worth it. We live in northeast Florida and have a tangerine. They are so so so delicious.
I know how frustrating having miscellaneous stuff laying around . My problem is a pile in my basement and a pile in my garage and what ever I need is in the other pile and when my Dad passed I ended up with his junk, but I just can’t throw anything away.
So glad you inspired others to organize and be organized. It might take time to accomplish - to buy organizer containers, sort and label, BUT you will save sooooo much time in the long run - as well as space. People don’t realize the time wasted looking for things or $ spent buying things over because you can’t find them. Bravo great video!
I’ve spent literally hundreds of man hours organizing my shop since I built it about 2 years ago. Two rules for me: 1. Birds of a feather flock together 2. Horizontal surfaces are for work not for storage. The best thing about investing time in organization is you enjoy the dividends in time savings every time you do a project. Thanks for sharing!
Man after my own heart, my life feels more orderly if I get things organized, it takes time and in the right mind set to stay at it. Congrats to you both, you have goals, it’s a start.
lol Jason you really are procrastinating! It reminds me of being a Home Depot Kitchen Designer who got stuck having to organize the bins in Hardware during preInventory week! Ugh! But yes you can shop your own shop before you head to the Big Box stores! Horse Mats would go for cash on Facebook marketplace! Then you can save for a tractor! You need a pegboard wall for the ever changing place to hang tools! My husband has one that is about 8 feet tall! He is 6’4” and has long arms! I am 5’1 “ and have to climb up on the table to reach the top! Yum the enchiladas look delicious! Have fun and stay warm! We are supposed to get a foot of snow between tonight and Sunday! 🥶❄️🥶
I look forward to your videos. Love seeing what Lorraine is working on also. You did a great job organizing. Now to just keep it that way. Now that you do not have as much going on you could take a break or work on the shelves and such to finish the organization.
Great job organizing. It is so satisfying. If youn are not going to use those stall mats, you could sell them. They are expensive, so used ones may be good for someone.
I too have been organizing things since Christmas. It’s cleansing yet a pain in the butt, too. Sometimes the organizing creates a mess before the calm. 😂
Oh Jason this is my dream come true- I honestly believe a Tidy & Organised area is a Safe & Workable area. I wish a lot of other Homesteaders that I watch would follow your steps as they are not teaching their children good work management or practices. Jason keep those Horse Mats as they will be invaluable when you organise a bench where you stand a lot- as you get older your poor legs get a bit sore standing on concrete too much. Oh Penelope that meal looked fabulous please come to Australia & teach me please. Cheers Denise- Australia 🥰😃😃
Never throw greenhouse plastic away put it in a feed bag and store in dry. I have often needed a piece for a small job and have always had some put aside. It is so strong and sun doesn’t destroy it. 😊
I would take that platform “table” and make it a work bench slap some legs on it / build in some shelves out of 2x4 & plywood do some French cleats on the wall future you will be grateful!!! Looking great !!
Happy Everything guys, for the new year, from Washington England, and I have to say you have a wonderfully tidy homestead, even before you organised. 😀
LOL I was sitting here in my chair thinking of ways to put off going out and hooking up the hose and rinsing off the salt on both our cars considering it is plus 4. I found your procrastination video so I thought I better watch this.
Jason you are a man after my own heart, I think it's very important when you have a homestead and you are showcasing add to the public on video. It needs to be aesthetically pleasing to the eye. There are some homesteaders that have so much junk laying around. And I say to myself is this what I want people to see if I was doing this? Jason you could be a good influence on some of your closest friends that have homesteads they are number one in their field in RUclips. I'm so embarrassed for them. They spend more time looking for stuff then just doing their chores for the day. So you have a good start keep it up 👍😁
Look how much you have accomplished in the past year. The fencing, the green house AND the kitchen. Y'all have been busy! Organizing is a very good idea..." Everything has a place and everything is in its place." Happy New Year to you!
Watched the first 5 minutes of this, then spent the next 6 hours in my shed organising the mess. Thank you Justin for the inspiration from a fellow procrastinator. Finishing the video off now 👍
To prevent burnout we need to occasionally do something else that needs doing for a break. It's amazing how knowing what you have & where it all is helps projects and chores get done quicker.
Organize yur stuff Hombre' 😁😋👍 Ban the flatheads 😂🤣Truth!!! Ya im OCD in my shop organize. A suggestion it to build a flat 3 foot shelf between yur future bin shelves, to hold, 1 box open , grab and go then close & return to main shelf after yur done. Beats open close , oh i need more . saves time. Be blessed 🙏🙏 stay warm.. And plan for unforseen circumstances in this cold spell. Xtra heat, wood, kindling, propane , Power source , gennie & xtra fuel. Jus sayin....
Dinner looks fabulous Penelope !! 😋. Jason, build a tower with rails a little longer than your bins, they'll slide right in & one bin depth. Love the Harbor Freight bins for screws & such. May need to get some for my hubby. 😊. The barn is coming along, love both you & Lorraine's organization skills. 😁
I began organizing my barn and pole shed this past summer. I moved back to the family farm 5 years ago and between my stuff, dad's stuff and my grandfather's stuff there were glass jars and old coffee cans of every screw, nail, bolt and nut imaginable. I'm not finished but have made a huge dent in the chaos. It's a good feeling.
There is nothing more PERMANENT on a farm/homestead, than a TEMPORARY fix!
You can cut the old horse stall mats in half lengthwise and use them between your garden beds in the high tunnel. Good weed suppression.
That’s a fantastic idea!! I bet they haven’t thought of that yet!! They are so heavy they would be fantastic as weed suppression and walking paths! Maybe could be used in their orchards too! Those things are worth big $$$🥰❤️🇨🇦🙏🏻🍁
Oooooo!!
GREAT idea!
Except that then the chickens wouldn't have anything to scratch through during the winter🤔

In jewelry making we call the collections of misc unmatched beads- bead soup. Maybe you are making screw soup, etc. lol

😂

I was thinking the same thing. Now he has to open them all again to see what everything is.
I love ALL Sow the Land videos!
Especially the one with the camera on the pig was hilarious. I laughed so hard.
Ladies and Gentlemen... Welcome to Sow The Land General Store!
You just saved your self hundreds of dollars by organizing that merchandise.
A very smart thing for you to do! Happy New Year!
Label label label! I love it when everything has a place and everything in its place! I wish my husband would do this
You are more organized than any of the other homestead as I watch and you're a homestead is not a mess
Wow, that barn/hardware store is looking good! You could paint a piece of wood with chalkboard paint to hang in there so you can write down what you need, etc. take a photo before you head to the store. That meal looks so good!

I personally enjoy seeing organizational skills at work.
I love that you like being organised! Mess = stress! I see some homesteads that are so untidy, which makes them less efficient. They are always looking for ‘something’, and their properties look so messy and junky.
I bet I know wich onces they are,lol
I bought that same sorting case a few months ago.,.,. And last week I finally found all the nuts screws washers etc,.,. And wow. What a difference it makes.
I looked through his links but couldn't find it there. Could you tell me where to get it please?
I have bought those horse stall mats and I would bet that if you listed them on facebook marketplace for half of the retail price they would sell like hotcakes. Just a thought for getting rid of things you don’t want or need.👍🌈✌️🐽🐷🐖
This is true!. I have purchased them for my stalls but they are excellent outside any building entrance during mud season to save the ground from eroding with foot traffic both animal and human.
Organization demands discipline! Learn to put things back in their proper place.

Masking tape and sharpie marker for temporary labels.
Build a garden shed / lean too by orchard with a rain collection system. Tools and water close by!
The I can't want to was coined by my 3 yr old niece, who is in her 40's now, but all us adults laughed and have used it ever since
You are speaking my language! If i could organize for a living and survive i would in a heartbeat! I love this content, well and all the other, but don't think this is "boring"!

Wishing you all a very happy, healthy and productive New Year.
Your positive & upbeat attitude is contagious!!!
My husband bought a wheeled case holder for all those bins you have with screws in them.
Plant daffodils in the orchard around trees. Will keep the deer away. Happy new year!
This makes me want to go back through and reorganize my stuff. Great video
Organizing is therapeutic. ❤
Matthias Wandel is the guru of storage drawers and racks for storage. Maybe you can use your lumber to make a rack to store the bins.
Your own general store! Yup that is what I have too! Lol!
Thank you for the simple push we all need to start the year, Jason!
Man after my own heart, my life feels more orderly if I get things organized, it takes time and in the right mind set to stay at it. Congrats to you both, you have goals, it’s a start.
Hey Jason, not only should the slotted screw be outlawed, but the Phillips, also! Robertson or Torx all the way! Keep up the great content! 🙌🏼♥️
I'm sure it felt AWESOME to see all those loaded bins and containers sitting on that table! Happy New Year to all of you!! 🥳🎉
Y’all are SOW productive and deserve a little procrastination from time to time!❤❤❤
Great idea about the cases. I like the small removal containers and the better price.
You have a wonderful family. God bless you all🙏💜
Those removable containers would make organizing so much easier. Love them.
I'm 65. Do you know how many times I have separated screws and nuts and nails and washers into bins? No?! Me neither! 😂
What a great way to start the year.

I'm trying to set up a peg board but have no idea what I'm doing. 🤔 Waiting on my husband to recouperate to help me.
My husband needs to do that to the garage stuff is everywhere.....😊
Great job organizing your equipment

We’re so glad you enjoyed the video!
I use ammo boxes for my seed storage. And we use them for emergency supplies in our side by sides.
Love your channel. I love organizing and cleaning.
Bless 2025

I too have been organizing things since Christmas. It’s cleansing yet a pain in the butt, too. Sometimes the organizing creates a mess before the calm. 😂
I love to organize! Looked like so much fun. ❤
January is organization month. Low tac shelf contact paper is perfect for cheap labeling!
You have inspired me to organize my tool shed mess. 2025 is the year of organization! 😊
Hi.... Happy New year Jason and Loraine and pynlope thanks you for showing your video homestead 🏡🐔🐓🐣🐤🐥🦃🐖🐷🐝🎥👋 bye 👋 bye 👋 bye 👋👍👍👍

Yes, Jason, I would like to have your bar very much.

Hope you guy’s had a Happy new year. Back to the Grind.
I am an organizer! Great job! Plus, love the hair do when you take off your hat! Lol!😊❤
Table cloth and napkins!!! LOve it!
I need you to come do this to my workbench 😂
I would take that platform “table” and make it a work bench slap some legs on it / build in some shelves out of 2x4 & plywood do some French cleats on the wall future you will be grateful!!! Looking great !!
Happy Everything guys, for the new year, from Washington England, and I have to say you have a wonderfully tidy homestead, even before you organised. 😀
Happy new year Jason, Lorraine and Penelope.
You all worked hard today.
Jason, I love the hair do 😂❣️
I used metal bakers racks in my workshop. I have my labeled tubs on them. And, if I want to rearrange in the future I can. Great job!
That sounds like a great setup!
in my family, we call it the 'I can't want to's :)
Nice job
You are such an inspiration!! Just the video I needed to watch! Thank you and Happy New Year!!
Organizing and decluttering is therapeutic for me!!
Blessings of the New Year💖
My New Years reslolution is to get organized and finish all of the projects that I hav star...
😂😂 sometimes I get as much out of the comments as the video itself😂😂
Organizing is a great way to begin the new year; we all needed this video to get us moving.
LOL I was sitting here in my chair thinking of ways to put off going out and hooking up the hose and rinsing off the salt on both our cars considering it is plus 4. I found your procrastination video so I thought I better watch this.

I have thoses storage boxws from harbor freight , I love them have about 10 filled an 6 more to fill and a great price for them.
They’re really good for the price!
Jason I love your barn. It’s like having a bunch of mini sheds all in one. So cool. Love how you have it organized and use it.

Thanks Jason. I have been organizing my desk, acquired a cupboard, and moving one of my bookshelfs in the bedroom and putting it in my walk in closet!
Happy New Year🎉 I believe in organization because I don't like looking for things. Looks great so far. Looks Delicious Penelope
Organising is so cathartic.
Dinner looks fabulous Penelope !! 😋. Jason, build a tower with rails a little longer than your bins, they'll slide right in & one bin depth. Love the Harbor Freight bins for screws & such.
