    GREAT interview!
All I hear from folks out in Cali/LA is what is said here and there is no scene out there and no one hanging out and going to shows!!
    COMPLETELY different in Detroit, fyi!!
There is a HUGE scene and clubs expanding!! Besides the older ones (Harpos, Token Lounge, Diesel's)....The Roxy (Rochester) just opened, District 142 (Wyandotte) just opened, and the old country bar changed from Diamondback Saloon to Diamondback Music Hall!!! :O
People go out on the weekend and all the time, hang out and after hours. There is a scene, and seems to be EXPANDING! COMPLETELY different that LA/California and the Go-To place and we're enjoying the shit out of it and for the last 10 years as the entire city has been getting renovated and a destination!!

Remember watching him in my friend’s living room auditioning bass players for Suite 19. And I remember Gary Hallanan as well.

I got to run front of house at The Roxy for the Guitarist of the Year competition either 89 or 90. It featured an all star jam with some of the judges at the end. I remember Reb Beach, Alex Masi , keyboardist from the Dixie Dregs, T Lavitz.. Roxy was mainly known as a showcase club like a label booking a band they want publicity for and half the tickets going to journalists, radio market people etc. They would get National acts that couldn't pack a bigger venue. The club sound staff messed with the system because we only hired a monitor mix engineer. They dialed back the level max about 40% and put a limiter on it. I was pissed because, show had started, they'd locked out the system and dissapeared. I knew that my boss, West LA Music and Marshall would think I messed up something till I could explain but the show was on. Level was a hair louder then somebidy yelling above the music. I was able to show them after but during the show. They were doing hand signals to turn it up.

@Final Resonance TV I just stumbled upon your channel. I do appreciate your (CORRECT) way of asking a question, and letting the subject answer, and even ramble a bit without interjecting and interrupting every 3 seconds. So far I've watch Greg Leon's all the way thru and I'm part of the way thru Ruben's. I'll subscribe!

In the early 80s, Greg was incredibly!! Live he was hard rock like y&t. But he did some recordings, and they were terrible. The Osmondes were heavier than his demo! It was notih like his live shows! I heard the label made him get a chick keyboardist.

Hang on. Can someone clarify for me...was Greg Leon's wife "Hot" or decent looking, or...average, or what? I don't think he touched on the subject.

Listen man, you have a “key” guitarist who lived the LA late 70’s scene. Stop with the “I read” and “I heard” and let the dude tell his stories.
