Mutton in Gudipadwa... quite unusual as per Marathi culture.
Us Pathare Prabhus celebrate most festivals with Seafood and Mutton, including Diwali. For us festivals need to be celebrated doing things and eating things one loves. Seafood and Meat are a huge part of our culture and daily life, hence we celebrate by eating the best Fish and Mutton especially on festivals. Pure Vegetarian meals are reserved for Shravan Somvar, Shaniwar days.😃

We never eat non veg on any festival in maharashtra... Poori shrikhand poori amrakhand, poori basundi or poori amaras mostly we prepare. On gudipadwa .. Baki other menus mast😀
