- "Riddle" has decided that right type of plane to own has a tailwheel so he's been on the lookout for a taildragger. Searching ads he found a Stinson 108 in Milwaukee that was worth a look. 3 hours flight time from home this was a perfect mission for the Great Michigan Bush Co. to take on. Take off was planned for prior to sunup with a 9am arrival at Timmerman field. The would put us home for dinner. As typical for our missions time frames and plans fall apart before the wheels leave the ground, yet we complete the mission. Along the way we see some great views and "Riddle" gets that chance to fly a nice Stinson 108-2 and "Scooters" Stinson 108-3 on the same day.

It’s funny how RUclips made this a suggestion. Although the deal wasn’t there for me, you guys are great and I look forward to crossing paths again. The ol’gal ended up in Kentucky a few days later.
Loved the video, but now I remember why Im very glad I live in the South...
One day I hope to.
Wow love your video. You guys are amazing.
Only in Michigan would someone say "The weather opened up and it was a nice clear day to fly" when that white stuff is swirling everywhere!! Nice little 108
How could he tell the sun was out? Those midwesterners are so optimistic. Hope he got his coffee.
I really like your channel and hoping to get a Stinson one of these days. In this video seems like there would be some icing concerns? It would have been informative to know the OAT. I don't fly in colder weather because I'm not sure about potential icing up. What tips can you offer about flying in these type of conditions? thanks,
If you stay outside a visible moisture, you can't get ice. So unless it's drizzle, misting, raining or you're in the clouds, you will not find ice on the airplane.
Looking forward to comments and questions.
What is your opinion of the various engine combinations for the 108? I have flown the 190 Lyc, but never the Franklins. Are Franklin engines not desirable, is not, why not? Also, what is your opinion of the 190 hp Lyc option?
Flew a few different flavors of those and a 10A. Flies so nice.
Probably going to need a gigantic shopping cart
We are going to need something to carry one of these when we purchase it.
wish you the best ur friends on facebook
The app fly like a local would have been helpful
I'll have to see if that is avaible for the Android. Thanks for the tip.
sadly it's only for iOS.@@GreatMichiganBushCo
No heat in that thing?
The heat works, but a Stinson is a bit drafty
Known icing? Come on, fellas.
We didn't pick up any ice, we didn't fly into any liquid water, we stayed out of the clouds. I don't even thing there was any forecast icing that that.
