Fx35 owner here! Yes your right about upgrading I have the cream colored seats and my car looks so much better at night due to some cracking near the glove compartment I wish a new dash wasn’t 2,100 I’ll probably upgrade to this before I tackle buying a new dash! This is just stunning!

Buying a new dash from the dealer would be setting yourself up for the same issues your having now. It's not like it's been upgraded to better material so it doesn't happen again 🤷🏻♂️ Your better off with Inlay because it's cheaper and a lot less labor intensified. As well if it should crack like your original dash another $300-$400 won't hurt as much. I think I'll be going to the inlay dash as I am tired of seeing that cheap Chinese Velcro attached overlay I have. My FX45 deserves better.
Hi, being that it is an Android radio from China, it doesn’t have a name or model. It is easily findable on Amazon or eBay at a lower price than I initially paid.
u should have gotten the one from aliexpress instead of the phoenix brand, the tpms on the chinese version works perfectly. Infact i didn't lose any manufactural function. Everything works on mine. The quality is also very high and the cost is half of what you u got the phoenix brand for.

It only took about a week. I haven't seen any negative reviews and aside from the few quirks I mentioned, I would give this a 9 out of 10. If I regretted it, I would DEFINITELY make a video about that lol
I have a qx50 and will be attempting an install. little worried as I have navigation and 360 cameras with sonar, and your camera view didn't show any 360 options or sonar. You can try sideloading netflix and other apps through your usb. You download to your phone first, back them up off your phone with a backup app, copy it to usb. use a file manager on the car radio to view your usb and click on the app file to install it. make sure in android setting installing from unknown sources is set. There's lots of info on sideloading android apps on the net and youtube. Thanks for the video!
I know this works with the 360 surround view camera, but my base model doesn’t have it. It has the adapter for the 360 view but definitely verify it with the vendor. Thanks for the view!
@@hypnotikgenius Yeah, thanks for the reply. I went ahead and installed it and everything works great, even the 360 surround view. But now I have a problem where the car won't fully shutdown. the radio, dashboard, and accessories stay powered on. I have a service appointment with phoenix later this week. hopefully they can fix it because I love this Tesla panel. :) If I figure out the problem I'll come back and post here in case others have the same issue. Now to install the 12volt solution plug and play remote start and curt trailer hitch. :) Thanks again for the help.
@@wagzz Youre fortune enough to be able to get assistance from them in person. Living in Massachusetts, I didn’t have that option. But I can tell you that my car wouldn’t shut off either, or the gauges wouldn’t work at all. Turns out it was two of the “Electronic Parts” fuses under the drivers footwell. I’m not sure if the install blew both since I was also installing a USB OBDII reader, but I definitely know it blew one because after I removed the USB, the radio blew it out again. My issue was that I never unplugged the battery when I did it although that doesn’t explain what actually caused the issue. After replacing the fuse, it didn’t blow again so I’m assuming it was during the install. I hope you can use this and find your issue.

I just meant I'm doing that 15 minute google meet thing they offer on their website. so a 2nd or third level support guy will join me on google meet and I guess I'll show him stuff in the car. We'll see how it goes. I checked all the fuses in my car near the wheel well and they are all ok. Good to know it was specifically the electronics one. I think I only have one of those. I've been getting help in the g37 forum and they had mentioned the fuse thing. I'll check the electronics ones again just to be sure. Thanks.
@@hypnotikgenius ok, So I can verify sideloading netflix or other apps is pretty easy. Download netflix apk from apkpure dot com and copy it to usb. Or if you're lazy like me and don't want to carry stuff to the car, you can install wifi transfer pro on your car and it makes your cars android storage available on your network via browser. Anyway, open file explorer under system apps, find the apk file, click on it it'll tell you installing apps from unknown sources is not allowed, click on allow or follow that screen to the spot where you can turn on unknown sources, after that, it'll either finish the install, or you might have to click on the apk a second time to install. Netflix looks good on the screen
The box comes with the GPS antenna. It was fairly easy to run, and yes, it would completely change the look of your interior if you install this. Great upgrade!
Hoping to get some info/share some info. Where do the USB ports end up being located? Is there a spot in the display, or is it kind of just loose? To share info - on the TPMS - looks like you can purchase "usb tpms Android" that interfaces with aftermarket radios. There are ones for external sensors and ones for internal (Infiniti uses internal I believe)
There are 2 USB ports that come out of the back of the radio. One of them gets hooked up to the supplied adapter to work with the stock Usb location in the center console. The other you can run or hide where you'd like. I installed a 128gb flash drive with a ton of movies/songs and it acts as my hard drive. I hid this behind the first cover you remove to get to the radio. As for the TPMS, the externals are an option for sure, but the OEMs certainly don't work with the radio.
The radio has an input for a side camera and a wire harness for the the stock all-around view. It should work with either the stock or aftermarket setup.
I'm sorry but I'm not a tech guy.. it is extremely nice but the install sounds complicated( to me) I'm wondering what a stereo shop would charge for this hook up....mines is the fx35...i was going to get a set of wheels but would much rather have this!!!!!
It’s not for the faint of heart, for sure. But it is fairly straightforward. The most difficult part for me was running the gps antenna and hiding the wire. I have no doubt you can do this if you take your time, follow the video, and ask questions on your way. Alternatively, a competent shop could do this but for a premium. It would most likely be considered a custom job. Hope this helps.
Dude thanks so much for this video. I've been considering one of these for about 2 years now but I hadn't found very good reviews. Did your backup camera guides still work? I have the base qx70 and I had read somewhere the turning-linings (the ones that turn with the steering wheel) don't work with the radio upgrade. Also I think I saw a TPMS add on/plug in on their website. Lastly, did you have to get an Airplay/Apple accessory? or was it plug and play?
The guides are still there, and even turn with the steering wheel, but it's unreliable in terms of precision. As for the TPMS. I saw that option too, but didn't feel it was worth the extra expense since the warning light still comes on with low pressure. Finally, the 9.1 Android version I bought has built-in CarPlay, so nothing additional was necessary. Hope this helps!
Hi, yeah that happened to me too. I can’t remember which ones it blew (electronic parts comes to mind) but check ALL of the fuses with a test light. That includes the engine compartment and under the dash. I think some of mine were blown before the radio install. Hope this helps!
I'm worried about it being too bright and distracting at night. Does the screen dim in tandem with the other dash lights? How dim can it get at night? I'm one of those super dim type peeps
I think that the dimness will be a problem, but yeah it’s adjustable automatically when you turn on your lights. At night, I press the “home” button to turn the screen from white to black and not only is it dim in the cabin, but it also looks awesome. But during the day, with the orientation of the screen, it may be hard to see sometimes. Haven’t found a solution to this.
Haha, yeah there is. There’s a setting under “Console” that allows you to change the picture. I actually took a picture of my car and used that instead. Just make sure that the image is a rendering so that it looks stock. This was a bit more difficult to figure out for me but we’ll worth it.
I have a theory about this, and I think that it’s not actually dimmer than the stock unit, but rather it doesn’t have a cowl covering because of its size. That’s why it seems dimmer and with more glare. There’s nothing I have come up with for a solution, unfortunately and it can be deceptive when using the reverse camera.

I know for a fact they had it for your car and that it will remove your GPS. Let’s face it, Infiniti navs suck. Especially older ones. This upgraded that experience for me by allowing me to use CarPlay and AndroidAuto.
Sorry for the long delay. The stock screen does show you the pressure readings. This one does not. However, your car will still let you know your pressures are low by the dash light.
I tried at the beginning, then reached out to the technical support team for the radio, and they confirmed that they don’t work with the radio. It sucks because it says it does on the website.
I've been able to change the car itself. The one on the screen is a pre-2010 model. I have a 2013 so the front grille is different. I took a picture of my car and made it my home screen. I also changed the splash screen on start up to say Infiniti instead of Android.
It IS an expensive radio, which is why I took the risk and bought it and made this video. It is up to you to decide if you want it or not. I didn't see any real reviews so I made this one. I will make another one to show what I've been able to do with it, but it is basically an Android tablet that handles some car functions (most, not all)
I would buy it even with its flaws. My main concern is the bose sound system not sounding as good as it sounds with the factory radio. If you could rate the sound comparison from the factory radio to this radio how would you rate it. How close does it sound to the factory radio ? By the way, did you ever get to figure out how to change the car that is on the screen and also how to change the android welcome screen to infiniti ? @@photograffyc2139 the factory radio works almost exactly the same, with the subwoofer and all speakers functioning like stock. However, there are many different settings to get it to sound crisp with the music you listen to (pop and rock music should use different settings). This is true of all radios, so nothing stands out as inferior to the stock system. As for the picture and startup screen, *sigh*, I did it, by accident. I don’t remember the steps but now I have an “Infiniti: Inspired performance” as my boot logo and a picture of a black QX70 as my screen instead of the orange FX35. I’ll mess with it tonight and see if I can retrace my steps. I’ll make a video this weekend if I’m successful. Thanks for the questions!
It depends on what you're looking for. With the exception of the heavy noise, I agree with the rest of the issues. As for a shitty product, well, you have to consider the alternatives. There aren't many. It's far from perfect, but in my opinion, it's better than the stock unit (especially if it doesn't have nav or all-around cameras).

You can order a new dash cover from overlay. I think it cost $300. It fits perfectly over your existing dash.

I ended up having to cut a red wire on one of the harnesses to allow my qx50 to turn off the radio and fully turn off the car.

None, the box came with everything I needed and even some extras for future upgrades (DVR, additional monitors, etc)

Was there a change in sound quality?
There wasn’t any loss in quality, although I think the volume limit is about 20% lower. Still loud, but not as loud.
Or I guess since it's android can you put your own custom launchers or themes on it? Would be cool to have a monochrome theme
I think you could, but that is beyond my capability. It doesn’t look bad either, so I haven’t looked into it.

It performs as well as the stock system, which is good, not great. More than enough for my purposes and has enough outputs for an aftermarket system.

No support, no TPMS, no reverse radar beeps, heavy noise on audio when on low volume.
