Aprilia SR GT 200 Sport Review | Beyond the Ride

- Aprilia did what we didn't think was possible in the Philippines, they brought in a scooter with the handsome good looks of the RSV4, and with the ease of use of a Vespa. It's no surprise that the 2022 Aprilia SR GT 200 is as good as it is since it is essentially a sportier and more powerful Vespa underneath. Jinno reviews this sporty scoot on this episode of Beyond the Ride, and he's quite impressed. What sets this scooter apart from the rest is that it is a maxi-style scoot that leans towards the sportier end of things, giving riders a high perch to sit on and ground clearance to tackle just about any light trail they can find. Whether you ride near or far, consider the Aprilia SR GT 200 that starts at just P219,000.

hi there, recently bought one here in Indonesia for my daily commuting scooter. the ride quality is far superior compared to its japanese rivals, espacially those rear suspensions! also, the only version on sale in Indonesia is the 175cc which has 17.7 hp and 16.5 nm. the engine is responsive. fuel cons is also good, i got an average of 40 km/l for city usage and 43-45 km/l for intercity usage. lastly, it looks awesome! love the sporty looks that has the current Aprilia design language from its bigger brothers.
any issues with getting it serviced and repaired? Im considering buying one in Thailand but wasnt sure about that.
@@KK-lg8uz some owners in my country experienced the engine check light turned on for insignificant reasons. but, there's nothing a service won't fix. my guess is because the SR GT is a new product. there could be several little issues that needed to be fixed here and there but nothing significant related to engine failure and things like that.
Not everyone knows that Aprilia makes the best motorcycles and scooters. Each Aprilia model in its class wins in comparison with competitors, if you read the tests of experts, not bloggers. The downside is that Aprilia has few models and less common.
I live in Croatia which is near Italy and we do not have adv 160 here so it is a natural choice to buy this aprilia. It has piaggio motor and it is great for city ride and beyond...price is 4200 euro and yamaha nmax 155 is about 3400 euros...i bought aprilia sr gt 200...
Jesi pozalio?
Jesi pozalio?
I’ve bought one like 3 months ago, a very comfortable, smooth riding, stable, beautiful, advanced scooter, but the only one lack is the speed 200cc is low for a price like that
I don't know why would they even name it 200 when in reality it has only 174cc engine. 180 Should be more fitting if I would say so.
You just bought the name 😂
Hi do you knove whats the difrance betvine the gt and gt sport
And how is it so far im thinkong od buyin one?
@@TsunaXZ 175 would make more sense.
Great review greetings from Europe I ride gilera runner 180 2 stroke 😄
The carbon fiber prevents it from being scratch or scrape. Yamaha made the right choice to make theirs hard plastic while the honda adv you have to buy a sticker just to avoid scratching the middle.
Awesome content, i completely agree that if you want to stand out from it's competitors, this is the scooter for you 🤔👍
I own an adv 150 and cgro if mag upgrade ako ito na pipiliin ko i live sa farm namin and i like the ground clearance and the looks. well kanya kanya tayo ng preference and if d mo type or gusto your not the target market. :)
I’m planning to buy this but after I saw you review, since I’m only 160cm and definitely too short for this cool guy 😭
Aprilia have been making scooters for years. My first bike was an Aprilia Rally 50 LC.
A nice and detailed review, a very nice scooter in my opinion, it's just a real shame that it doesn't have traction control of the rear wheel and key lass, these are 2 things that are already in Yamaha and Honda.
Bloody good review. I've been goooogling for one for quite a while and...here it is. Thumb up
I own the 125 here in London, feel free to ask anything if you need :)
@@Clapham888 Coool. It's the 200 I'd be after but 125 is not that far away. 200 in case of traffic lights drag race with some Deliveroo dudes. 🐎. How is it? For me 3 things matter the most. Reliability, flickability/pull and curious glances 👀. Would I be getting it all with this one?
@@Clapham888 is it true a full face helmet won't fit under the seat? I saw he was using a dirt bike helmet with a visor so it surely wouldn't - but how about a standard full face road helmet?
@@byronb8711 a full face will fit under seat providing you put it upside down.
@@Clapham888 How are security features on this one?
The fact that you compared Vespa and Aprilia like Armani and Versace 🤌👁👄👁🤌
Looks: BEAUTIFUL
Specs: VERY GOOD
Price: if this is less than 200k then it will be AWESOME..... 😊😊😊
I envy the Philippines for having more motorbike offerings than in Thailand for both brands and models
but thailand is much better than malaysia. not so many scooter for a scooterist like me
@@hisyambanana Ah i c, that never occurred to me despite having been to Malaysia a dozen times - but that's all b4 I just recently become a motorcyclist ;-)
It's the opposite man Yamaha didn't even release Yamaha Lexi in Philippines
I think the challenge of this bike is it’s fighting the big dogs such as the ADV or the NMAX. Does the 70k premium justify the features of this bike that the others don’t have? Maybe hindi especially that Aprilia is also not known for reliability.
hindi??? it will b good for india but they only sell 125 scooters nd their top end bikes
right, 219k for just an italian INSPIRED..???200CC on paper with 175cc in reality...???without a trace of reliability?? I don't think they can hit the market in Philippines with it...well, for some but not for most.
Especially if the ADV160 is close to the ADV150 in price. It will only have 1 less HP than the Aprilia and with more features and reliability.
same din sa kymco KRV, ayun tlgang worth it un sa dami ng technology
Aprilia like all other italian bikes always gives you more, design, premiumness, and of course metal shavings
Gusto ko ito. Gusto ko ung exclusivity nito. Not everyone will have this. Pag meron ka nito parang ang astig. Nakapagpareserve na ako ng unit na ito na Sports Gold Acid at kukunin ko by October. Excited na ko! hehe!
I always enjoy watching your bike reviews. Thks.
This unit is really good looking like that of ADV160. However, its price won't really make it to the market here in the Philippines. For me, I'd rather choose the ADV160 as far as the price is concerned.
Little bit unique
Little bit special
And Italian
Yes this is a premium compare to a Japanese brand specially 150cc to 160
But the price is Italian too, 😄
I think I chose Kymco Krv 180i...Abs,Traction Control, Independent Swingarm, Cvt...both 175cc...and much better look...
Ang panget ng krv. Gulay board Ang putcha.
Perfect na sana krv kung di lang mababa ground clearance niya. Pang magagandang kalsada kasi yun di pwede dito samin yun na lubak lubak tapos bahain 🤣gusto ko pa naman sana bilhin yun
Nice review.
If Aprilia would be smart, they would install the 400hpe engine from their Piaggio concern with 14L fueltank, and then, this would sell as crazy.
It would be an adventure/city/grand tourer scooter. Versatile and great looking. 👍🤗😉
Why only 400cc? I would install there 1200cc or bigger...
Unfortunately there is too much competition in the 1200cc motor market. But for a 400cc offroad looks scooter, like the Xadv medium power engine, there is not too much choice. If Honda had put a 400 cc in the ADV, it would sell much better, with euro regulations, 29hp is too weak for highway use. The Xadv750 is one of the best selling "scooter"motors. BMW C400x have 34hp, but the underseat is too small, i had it before.
Si hopefully Aprilia will be smart to try their 400hpe engine from piaggio plug in the SR GT😜
Peugeot motorcycle is also planning an ADV alike adventure scooter with the engine from their tricycle scooter Metropolis; as seen some pre drawings on the net, hopefully to be unveiled in Milaan.😄
Great review, and excellent editing and voiceovers. I will be copying your style for my next video lol
Thankyou 🙏
I wish they had scooters like this in the US
Get the Honda ADV -150 , much better looking ,n less clutter , n it does 70 mph !
@@simonkaraoglanof1146 ehh but it's a lowly "Honda" lol
@@allstargaming5270 i Have a 1975 Honda CB-400 F n it looks n runs like new , Yea its a lowly HONDA ! n i can sell it 2day for 10 times what i paid 4 it ! Yea its a HONDA !
I immediately see some features compared to NMAX.
disadvantages:
1. no open large glove compartment for a water bottle.
2. higher on the saddle.
3. Italian reliability ... is in doubt ...
I had an Alfa Romeo ... now I look with caution at everything Italian...
perhaps with Italian motorcycles, with which I have not dealt, everything is different?
correct me if I'm wrong.
advantages:
1. power.
2. wind protection
3. ground clearance
4. there is a button for flashing the high beam
5. rear shock absorber preload adjustment - 5! steps.
My criticism when compared to similar displacement scooters, commonly the NMAX and PCX.
- Way too expensive when compared to similar displacement scoots, yeah I know its 175cc but why call it a GT200? seems kinda stupid.
- Too much plastic for a dual sport scooter (the ADV150 suffers from the same problem)
- Just get a 150cc scoot, the price isn't worth the premium, especially when its an italian company, well you gotta struggle on paying a premium as well on maintenance and parts compared to Japanese bikes.
Kymco KRV 180i is the better choice (Reliable brand, better scooter for almost 35k less than the Aprilia and has the same performance specs.
Aggre... Kymco 180i it's better both 175cc.. Krv have Abs, Traction Control, Independent Swingarm, Cvt...much look better... Aprilia looks Adv 160 like a robot bullshit designed..
Nowadays, japan's part also not cheap
Kymco or Aprilla - same s****
@@podunkman2709 woah...easy man, been owning kymco scoot since 2012, 3 scoots 125-300cc, never failed me till this day
KRV only downside is the looks, well its subjective naman
Looks good and would be a good feel for exclusivity but aprilia isnt really known for reliability and parts availability isnt good for now. Plus the price isnt competitive as well more like buyin for luxury rather than practicality.
Yung itsura mukang pinagsamang aerox na skydrive crossover. Astig.
Subscribed!
Good presentation. A sub from malaysia.
Are they going to come out with a bigger engine version of this. Like a 300 or 350 or 400? That would be ideal in the same size frame
I'd rather buy an ADV with upgraded ohlins shocks and brembo brakes sa price nya.
That's the thing, it is you. To each their own.
Beautiful scooter
Great video. Even though your not that tall, you do look good on the Aprilia, nice and upright. Looks comfy. But you didn't talk about the top speed or did i miss that ? If it can do highway speeds, WoW , this is a realy good option to scoot around with, on a daily.
max is 120 kph
131kmj
@@robertsrancans5257
Minus 5 km/hr according to GPS.
This needs a 250cc 25hp engine and would be spot on
believe it or not, its performance is actually better compered to a beverly 250
@@dimitrisdimitriou5180
Yea, but rpm is quite high.
Going for 300cc would have been a nice option, with lower rpm.
Maybe giving it 30+ litters of space under the seat as well, cause 25 litters is just way too small.
@@FusionTM_REDRUM 300cc = 1000 euro more
Nice & Cool Helmet! What HJC Model is that? and is that good ? Thank you
Leave that Start/Stop system off.
All it will do is wear out your starter motor and battery much faster, neglecting any dinky increase in fuel economy.
I love this scooter!!
a good buy for exclusivity, but how bout parts availability?
Btw Isnt it bad to rev a scooter & press the rear brakes?
ouch. planning to get this scooter pero I'm 3 inches smaller than sir Jinno. saw this in flesh actually. we were checking on the vespas pero this one got my attention because of its unique looks.
i wish aprilia launches this in India too
Very good review.
Does anyone know the service intervals on these things?
Aprilia doesn‘t state them anywhere on their website, I guess 10k km maybe?
And what is the acceleration like? The 125 version struggles to reach 100kph, can the 200 handle highway speeds comfortably?
Thanks in advance
The 200 is a 175cc actually, and the claimed top speed is 80mph
131kph
Really cool scooter tbf
You're paying for the exclusivity, to be honest. For those people who don't want to go to the expressways. It's a win for them. A premium bike that has it all.
Love the mini Italian flag at the front
Only aprilia enthusiast will buy this bike.
I'm a suzuki enthusiast and I own one😂
It does look like an adventure bike without the front tank
Put side panniers and top box, it will become a real semi adventure bike
we are somewhat of same height and was surprised that you are on tip toe. I own s125 and it seems like they are of same riding height.
Appreciable
Change the camera guy. When you show underseat space, camera man is focusing you instead of showing the boot space, when you Rev engine to get the silencer sound, he should have got the camera near silencer rather he is standing away.
Agree
correct him first lol if he still screwed then remove him. why would you suggest to remove the guy instantly. what a mental
It’s not the camera guy, it’s the video editor
It looks amazing but it needs more power, keyless go and it needs to fit a full helmet. Therefor I will consider to buy the xmax 300 instead.
Completely different scooters in size, weight, price etc. It's like complaining that a Toyota Corolla is slow and small and comparing it to a Toyota Landcruiser.
Nah man. Keyless go and fitting a full helmet is an absolute minimum. A 300ccm version would be nice tho.
@@Andrew-tl9gk Then this isn't the right bike for you.
@@krasky that is exactly what I said in the first place. And not just for me… A scooter that cant fit a helmet? How can anyone want this. Also no keyless go just shows how much focused Piaggio is on maximum profit.
@@Andrew-tl9gk That's like going to a sportscar dealer and complain that they don't offer fully equipped SUVs. What's the point here? That product is not for you. Fine. Just pass it. Buy something else.
Are you sure it is ABS??? I am sure that they have said CBS when it was introduced..... Main reason why I keept my Medley 2021 :)
The most handsome scooter so far
Italjet would disagree
Italjet is just flashy (looks wise). It looks like a transformer. So it's not handsome, it looks robotic
@@praveennair9501 the italjet looks horrible. The older italjet dragster and formula loom better than the new italjet
Plz tell me its compression ratio?
For those individuals who have plenty of money and after the brand.... pero performance way overprice, you pay for the Name. Compare ko yung actual na APRILIA bike vs ADV 160 sa finish hinde naman nagkakalayo. Buti sana kung 200cc and made in Italy talaga iyan.
Maintenance wise how is it same as like aerox, nmax, adv?
...and the parts + service availability outside NCR
This would look great in India, not sure it would sell like fire, but hey, it might cause it is a Aprilia.
Please try to review the Kymco Xtown 300i so far the best GT maxi scooter for me, i have still my Xtown for 3 years already. Please review the Kymco KRV 180I also. Please inform me if you have done the review.

Will this model come to India ?
When it will be launch in India can anyone please tell thanks in advance
Nothing confirmed until now Ajai, as per sources may be later this year or early next year
definitely will not be a foodpanda grab scoot, for that alone I will buy it
Yes! Someone who gets it. It's exclusivity. Not everyone has it so I would too.
parang yung mentality na pang taxi yan kaya pangit yan. pinoy nga naman
@@intoscr I see nothing wrong there though. Some people want performance, some want looks, and some want fuel efficiency. I own a 2019 Hyundai Accent. Yes pangtaxi siya pero overall panalo sa akin. For me, practicality wise, hindi sya sulit. Ang target audience nia ay yung mga motorcycle enthusiasts na gusto magkaron ng daily scooter na may bragging rights. And for rich people of course.
I fit a full face helmet under the seat in my 200. I do like the yellow, purple is my favorite but I picked up a used 23 with 1400km for half the price of a new one so I couldn't say no. I get like 41-42km driving like a real asshole in Thailand. I wish the suspension was a bit more like the ADV160. No better suspension on a 200 or less.
What is its top speed?
