Man, this just shows what a mess season 2 was. The first half of the recap was easy to follow, but by the second half you can see how they jump from plot to plot.
@@Vgallo It is, but trying to wrap my head around it (again) feels tough. I've watched the re-cap yet feel maybe I need a full rewatch just to be able to watch S3.
Literally. When I watched the Netflix recap i was so lost. I even thought I hadn't watched S2 completely. But I did watch the whole season 😢😢 nad yet I don't remember the plots
I truly don't understand how the official recap can be such incompetent garbage when it probably cost them tens of thousands of dollars... while some guy in his pyjamas and a cup of coffee probably did this masterpiece in a handful of afternoons in his garage. It defies belief.
Yeah. That recap was terrible. It was a bunch of scenes from the previous two seasons and didn't tell the viewers a damn thing. I don't know whose brilliant idea it was to do a recap this way but it was completely useless.
omg.. mee thinking "i guess I remember the most" and than watching this, realising, I remember MAXIIMUM 30% of Season 2 plot :D:D Thank you so much for updating!
I became completely hooked on the channel after watching my first recap. Now, it's my preferred way to watch new seasons. Before any new season, I look for a summary of the past seasons here and dive into the new story. I really wish the channel would become even bigger. I make sure to like every video I watch, hoping to help it grow quickly.
Would just like to say that your recap is A M A Z I N G. Unlike most other recaps, yours are properly articulated, in a calm manner and not RUSHED in 2 minutes, and without trying to be funny with shitty memes every 20 seconds. Thank you so much.
📌I'm trying to think why I'm so confused by all these factions whereas in Game of Thrones, I understood each faction completely and what they wanted. Is it the writing? The dialogue? Perhaps the culture and personalities in GoT are more distinct? Perhaps the character motivations are more clear? Perhaps the plot is tighter and more focused? Anybody else have the same thought?
Often wonder the same. I think it’s the pacing. For much of early, GOT, pacing was very steady, linear, and somewhat slow. There may be a whole episode on a single faction, or at least 30 minutes uninterrupted. Also they were more aesthetically distinguishable. Architecture, fashion, personality traits, accent. As far as story line… if you understood who the lannisters were, and who the Starks were… that got you about 80% there. You then had several seasons to develop a broader understanding of the big picture through individual character development. You could go from despising someone to loving them in a couple of episodes. Those are my thoughts on it…
I was just thinking the same thing. Thrones was easier to follow about who was who and where they came from and motivations. Could have been the pacing or maybe I was more into thrones so made a point to remember everything 🤷
thank god for this. i think this show is a hot mess when it comes to writing and direction and episode structure but i still weirdly enjoy it? i’m just confused until the season is finally over haha
May I just say thank you for going through the whole thing without a long introduction or a sponsorship add in between? It's rare to find something like this on RUclips nowadays :D
13:50 Ok THAT was not made clear at all. I was wondering who this guy is in Season 3. He seems important but I had no recollection of who he is or was in previous seasons.
It's sad I needed to come here before trying s3. S2 felt so forgettable and the fact that it isn't getting better apparently is sad.. and that's even before Henry's leave. What a fall from grace for the Witcher, such a shame
Incredibly helpful, never played this series and thinking of diving in with this entry, lots to learn! Thanks for making this easier for us newbies 👏 👏
Law of surprise which states that one party must give another something that they have but do not yet know of. Could be anything, perhaps a bountiful harvest that came unexpectedly or a priceless heirloom someone was promised but hasn’t received yet. It’s always something that belongs to them but they don’t know about yet. Seems to be one method of showing gratitude kind of akin to saying someone owes you a favour. In the case of Ciri and Gerald, Gerald helped her parents get together so dunie offered Gerald the law of surprise as thanks, not knowing that his new bride was already pregnant making Ciri the gift they already had but did not yet know of. So by the law Ciri belongs to Gerald. At first he doesn’t want her because why would he want a random baby he’s a Witcher. But then as the war is about to break out, he realizes that the little princess is in danger and goes back to them to take her under his wing and protect her. Ciris grandmother at first refuses but then upon her death bed realizes Gerald may be the only person who can protect and take care of ciri just as he had the same realization earlier. So he takes in Ciri for two main reasons , one because the law of surprise made it so Ciri legally belonged to Gerald , in a place of magic this means that it was their destiny to be together whether they willed it or no due to the law of surprise. Secondly because he’s a good dude and didn’t want to see a child be murdered. Later he finds out how important she is too and this only increases his understanding that she must be protected and trained to fight
Great recap. The show was so jumpy it left me confused half the time ... I am guessing that was the point but it made it almost unwatchable. All they needed to do was put a year / place on the screen when they switched timelines.
Good recap. I searched for this before starting season 3...but now I'm thinking "Was this show really THIS stupid?" Now I dunno if I am even going to bother watching season 3. Most of what I liked was when Henry Cavill would see some desperate situation, and just grunt out a monosyllabic "f###".

Loved season 1. Season 2 was a cluster Fluck but kind of watchable. Season 3 ? Ive tried 4 times just to watch episode 1 and its so fung boring Ive never made it through. What a shame. Had real potential to be a great show. Guess Netflix really wants to end this series.
I just watched season 3 first 5 eps... i pretty much forgot what happened in the first two seasons lol. However, it is kind of getting good now, and its returning to the source material a bit.
@cocopopssss theyre swapping Henry Cavill for Liam Hemsworth, he played gail in The Hunger Games and starred in "Most Dangerous Game" (i recommend MDG highly, both seasons are good, the eps are also quite short), he's definitely not my first choice for geralt but he apparently has been reading the books and playing the games with enthusiasm since being cast
