Love this kit, if you're lucky enough to have the puncturing object on your front tire(s), just leave your tire on, and turn your wheel so you have a better leverage. Takes 1 minute to do. No you don't need to "patch" your tire, i've used this on multiple tires and cars and they've never failed. Thanks!
That’s good but it’s still best to take the wheel off and insect the entire thing first any other puncture or potential cracks in the rim as well
Yes you most definitely should get it patched. If you take a string on a motorway/highway it has a high likely hood of getting yanked out. Which you do not want to happen when you are going 70mph
Yes you do need to patch your tire. This is a temporary fix
You just saved me so much time
How long is it good to drive for after repairing it?
Tyre technician here. You actually should twist the needle a few times before yanking it out. And its better to do this whilst there is air in the tyre.
Didn't we use to set the end on fire back in the day?
@4seeableTV yeah some did. Now we use a type of glue.
Just did my first tire plugging achievement unlocked
Point total?
Dexterity and strength increase
My first time repairing a flat myself. Very helpful video.
didnt expect it to be that easy.
Yea done it like 6 times on one tire some of my friends said you're going to have a blow out i just laughed at them.
Lol "do not twist the handle" The first thing the guy does in the instructions is twist the handle on the way out 😂
Not in this video
What is he doing at 53 seconds? @@derrickm2093
That’s why they specified not to lol
Noticed that as well
@@derrickm2093Yes in this video
The Slime Kit has repaired about 8 holes in the past few years for me. If possile, taking the tire off is better, makes it much easier.
You shouldn't really be taking the tyre off if you are using a temporary repair. If you are taking the tyre off the rim you may aswell use an actual permanent plug and patch repair.
@kinsal_9308 dude shut up plugs work
LMAOO bro if ur gonna take the tire out might as well use the actual " plugs" used at shops this is a quick and easy complete fix. Do it right once and urset.
Thank you this was very helpful and informative 👍👍
Great info! Thanks
Very informative
first time I did it it worked well.
now my other car has a flat and did the same amd it didnt seal properly. I did put plentyof tire cement on the plug.. I read some pressure could help seal better (pushing the sealent through small cracks ?) so I did inflate to 15 psi after about 5-10 minutes and it started bubbling and slowly leaking. I deflated right it away and let it cure overnight but next day trying to inflate it leaked so bad that my vompressor wasnt even able to go pas 25psi amd went back to flat real quick.
. any recomendations on time to cure, and pressure to apply that could help dur8ng curing? Id like to at least be able to make to to a tire shop safely
For anyone wondering... yes it really is as easy as it looks and works as it should
Worked great on a large screw in my tyre. But small nails of about 4/5mm diameter.. make sure you have a battery drill to bore it out. Must have taken me 20 minutes of grunting to get that dam reemer in 😅
Why does Slime packaging only show ATV, Trailer, motorcycle, tractor images on their packages? They never show images of cars or trucks? Are these not to be used for full size cars & trucks?
It says on the packaging that it is to be used for an emergency repair and to only drive to a tire shop to get a permanent replacement. But I have used a slime plug on a car before a long time ago for months and it held up and never broke until I got tires but ymmv lol
because of liability issues.
Tried everything, rubber piece won’t go in
"Do not twist the needle." The package of the kit I bought says to, tho
Are you supposed to the leave the excess plug sticking out or cut it off? I imagine it wears off in time.
I have the same question.
Yes but be careful
How long should I wait before putting air back in the tire?
You can fill it right away
What if the plugger doesn’t go all the way in?
Then you collapse
Not supposed to go all the way the tip supposed to be sticking out
@@johnboii214channel😏
hit it with your purse
It’s fine I only got mine in like a quarter of the way and I never had any issues
How long should you wait before you put air in it for the glue to dry?
It’s not really a glue. I believe they call their stuff plug bond or something but it’s main purpose is to be used as a lubricant and most people use rubber cement. Slimes old kits actually came with rubber cement. Rubber cement can be used (optionally) as a plug lubricant to aid with installation. It is not required to adequately repair your tire puncture but it helps to slide it in and out easier and dries to a nice sticky finish.
Thank you for this video tired shop charge $20 or more bucks to do wow that's crazy that's rip off do it your self ok cool
How about next time you forget the music so we can hear the narrator better. Why do people who make videos think we need to be "entertained" with their music instead of just letting us hear the narrator better. Corporate stupidity.
damn someone woke up on the wrong side today
@@noahwham9889 no, just telling it like it is. But corp. stupidity is rampant. I did not type in caps.
The great thing about these videos is that you can rewind them and rewatch them as often as you need.
@@markavaldez11 uh, no... The music will still be there.
@@noahwham9889 nope. Just know enough to have quiet background when trying to make an informative video. A little bit of common sense goes a long way.
Tire repair kit:
Step one- use pliers to remove nail. (pliers not included) 😂
Why not twist the needle?
Bc the plug could become fitted on the plugger needle tighter than the force it takes to leave it in the tire puncture, causing it to come out with the needle instead of staying in the tire
Mine still leaking 😡
You can put more than 1 plug at a time when doing this.
It's pure hell to use this tool. It would not insert the plug, and that's after using the reamer to ENLARGE the hole.
I used something like this years ago on my car with no real problem, but the tire was not mounted then so maybe that made it easier which is why I tried this again.
So?
I Placed the tool end on the road and CAREFULLY rolled the MOUNTED tire over it.
Got insertion and so far (24 hours) the the tire doesn't leak.
Also instead of paying for the PREMIUM tool, just get a pvc pipe tee and put the handle of the tool in that.
Note the tool instructions say it's for emergency repair only, so drive on the repaired tire at your risk.
#donottwist lol
why not? I always twist it and it lasts forever!?
@@mygiguser read the package instructions. It says it . I always used to twist it too lol.
Ah..... He DIDN'T PULL IT STRAIGHT OUT.😉 THAT'S WHAT SHE SAID! 😁 twisting it...! SLIGHTLY? The audio does not comply with what my eyes R SEEING🤫 SO........ YEAH 😅😂🤣
P.S. There's 1 for the BLOOPER REEL 📽🎬😊
Take 2 ?🎬🎬😁
This is not working perfectly in certain situations. We did a plug on a Bugatti Veyron rear tire and around 183 mph there is a slight vibration coming from the rear right side where the plug was. I guess we need to do a balance or replace the tire.
Yes, running 183 mph with a plugged tire is a brilliant idea.
if they can afford a bugatti certainly they can afford to replace the tire
@@SteazyStizzy Imagine running etron rs on borrowed transit plates whilst leaking lecy whilst living on benefits and buying 5£ tyre repair kits. True story.
