    The problem was also that variants before Omicron were more dangerous. So softening of measures are only possible since this year I guess...

    • @rpg1663
      @rpg1663 2 года назад

      The "softening" in China was only possible due to serious protests, not the fact that omicron is less dangerous or what. Omicron has been around for at least 1 year now lol.. Also, not even 1 month ago in China, Covid (omicron included) was still super dangerous and deadly, and the whole world was suffering tremendously, according to the CCP. Then the world cup came... oh wait.. why is everyone without mask?!?! what the hell is this?!?!? LOLOL.. wake up

    • @MrKAmsterdam
      @MrKAmsterdam 2 года назад

      @@rpg1663 Nobody denied that the chinese government listened to the protests and ended the zero covid policies: I only made the rmark that with Omicron it was easier to do than with Delta. Of course also Omicron can become serious, as we see all over the world. But people in China still war masks and people get vaccinated. And zero covid makes no sense when a virus is so contagious,. But I see: no matter what China decided to do - even when there is an 180° turn - some people will blame China.
      This topic is just a vehicle. Your comment is an ideological eruption, has nothing to with China but only with you.
      And by the way: the world cup did not take place in China.

    I've had covid twice, both mild. It takes at least 10 days to test negative even if you feel all right. As long as you have a sore throat or throat problem, you're definitely covid positive. Panadol, cough medicine, sore throat medication and drinking lots of coconut water help. Hope you'll recover soon but please quarantine yourself from your family members.

    Try gargling with warm salt water and spit for help with scratchy throat...suggestion originated on the Boone Family Farm near Holland MI (100+ years ago), sipping a cup of hot tea was added about 50 years ago..don't know how it effects Covid but if the throat gets scratchy and/or nasal drainage occurs it does help with that. Remember being outside with my cousins decades ago having spitting contests in the snow..not because my throat was irritated but spitting with parent approval. May help with symptoms..

    ICU beds: 10 for 100k.
    80k+ ICU doctors. With 100k+ in reserve.
    220k ICU Nurses. 177k in reserve.
    Thats a sharp increase from 3,6 ICU beds in year 2015.

    I wouldn't say the last year was a 'black mark' on China's response to covid. They didn't lose out on much with zero-covid, even if some people were stuck at home for several months. The bigger concern is what China has done/ is doing to improve their medical infrastructure and vaccination rate and efficacy. I'm not sure if they're ready, even though they had the extra year to prepare.

If China gets 500,000 covid deaths because of relax covid policies, ~4.5 million covid/excess deaths were avoided still. 2021 life expectancy for non-Hispanic white in the US is 76.4 years ( 78.2 years for China ). @@randyw3553 stop reading western MSM. First of all, China has one of the highest vaccination rate, if not the highest. The mRNA vaccine whether finished or not, would not help China bc most prefer traditional, if they are indeed mandated, which isn't and will not likely. Do you really not think Moderna or Pfizer vax couldn't use more development time and not rushed, seriously? China likes to be safe than sorry. I know countless folks whom don't trust either Moderna or Pfizer in my very neighbourhood fwiw. Again, why should China be forced to buy USA made mRNA tech while having their own? And the US didn't give their citizens much of a choice (I very much prefer sinopharm or "weak" sinovax) until Novavax came on this fall? All we could do was take the J&J, which had a clot issue, among other minor issues. Don't get me started on the P and M adverse side effects😊

      In a nutshell - China does not have an mRNA vaccine.
